ShepTARD is beyond silly.

Stephanie accidentally OnT?

I used to know this stuff then the players all started getting confusing. Now I feel like I'm in the audience for this:

http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=whos%20on%20first%20abbott%20and%20costello%20original&qs=VI&form=QBVR&pq=whos%20on%20first&sc=8-13&sp=2&sk=VI1#view=detail&mid=949203F4E9ECC1296AFF949203F4E9ECC1296AFF

Gus

Steph, I thought of WHO'S on FIRST yesterday. Our problem is quite simple.

Obama is a fuck up. All of what we are seeing today and tonight would be simple, IF ADULTS WERE IN CHARGE. Sheptard Smith ET AL, do not recognize that Obama's Admin is a JOKE. They SIMPLY consider Obama's clownish losers as EQUAL to REAL CAPABLE AND ABLE PEOPLE. It's the folly of our GOVERNANCE. Obama is a JOKE. Most of our MEDIA and SHEPTARD types, are TURGID in NOT SEEING THE JOKE.

Gus

Good God, immediately after posting my last comment, I witnessed FISH FACE SHEPTARD SMITH and his complete lack of any semblance of reality. It's as if these libs live on MARS.

Gus

Is what Obamatard did tonight LEGAL?? WTF??

Dave (in MA)
Thanks a lot iggy, now you got me whistling the Monty Python song Always Look on The Bright Side of Life from Life of Brian for some reason...
Well, that was filmed in Tunisia, right there on that map.
Bori

Steph,

Briefly, during Ottoman times the Sunni majority oppressed and occupied positions of power in Syria.

After the collapse of the Ottomans and while Syria was a protectorate of France, the Alawites and other minorities allied themselves to run the country.

It has been that way since. The Sunni majority is now the one that feels oppressed by the minority and are kept out of power by Assad.

The Syrian Civil War started as those Sunnis rebelled against Assad after protest to gain more rights and equality failed.

Heh, how about a no-fly zone for ISIS?

Don't worry, Steph; you are only slightly more confused about it than they are over there.

Ignatz

Thanks bori; I thought the Alawites were Sunni.

glasater

Drudge is a touchstone for many of us but I felt this particular story on another failure of the Iraqi Army really dismaying and worth another look.

Al Jazirah is running a segment on young Islamic student/immigrants to England. The guy they are talking to for the last few minutes says the problem for him is that there is too much personal freedom in England. He says he can stay out all night, and he can do drugs or alcohol, and he can do whatever else he wants and that that is bad because it is too much freedom. He doesn't know how to control himself with all that freedom, so there should be less freedom and that is why he does not like England or the West.

Bori

Daddy,

That is why Progressives love Muslims so much, they see them as the perfect constituency. Except that they ignore that the rules and guidance they seek is religious. Progs think that they will be the ones issuing the rules, when they would in fact be the first to suffer at the Muslims hands.

daddy

The late night/early morning FOX ladies are telling us something I may have previously missed: That the White House has finally acknowledged that ISIS terrorists are on US soil and intent on doing us harm.

We all knew that if we had a lick of sense, but its worth mentioning that the Administration constantly lied to us about it when specifically questioned about it, and they took efforts to smear and ridicule those asking the question or making the allegations (ie) FOX News, Governor Perry, Law Enforcement Officers near the Border, etc.

Jane on Ipad

What the hell is Obama's plan?

henry

Jane, 5 weeks to the election. Is this the "October Surprise" Beckel was blabbing about? Obama's plan has to do with keeping the Senate so he can pack the courts. If he blows up some camels in the process, what difference at this point does it make?

Miss Marple

Good morning!

Had on BBC but they are trying to ignore this military action and were talking about the climate change at the UN like it was really earth-shaking.

So I turned to local radio where I was pleased to hear that Tony Katz had picked up the AP reporter's deleted tweet trying to make Obama sound like he was better than Bush because Arabs bombing.

Decided to get up and turn on TV. Where I find out that we are going to run out of Tomahawk missiles.

Miss Marple

I had never heard of the Corison group, but every time they say it I think of Goldman Sachs guy who used to be governor of New Jersey.

daddy

Tony Katz had picked up the AP reporter's deleted tweet trying to make Obama sound like he was better than Bush because Arabs bombing.

Miss Marple,

NicK Robertson of CNN just a minute ago praised Obama by saying that this is the biggest coalition of Islamic nations since Gulf War 1, ergo in effect he is saying the same thing you mentioned, that Obama is legitimate and able to rally Islamic partners whereas Bush was unable to do the same.

They apparently have their marching orders and it is to once again diminish Bush and praise Obama, regardless how dishonest their manipulation of history is.

Miss Marple

That is what Tony said they were going to do, daddy!

I am disgusted.

If you believe as I do, that these air strikes were necessary, Obama is doing what we EXPECT a president to do, much like we expect disaster declarations after a natural disaster.

Bush said that this would be a war that would go on through many presidencies. That was mocked by the left and now they are going through all sorts of contortions to prove that this is "different."

I think that we did have some Arab countries supporting us in Iraq, but I am frankly too lazy to go research it. Plus they are probably disappearing them from Wikipedia as I speak.

I have thought about this since last night. There are 2 ways to approach Obama's order; one is to mock it, which I will not do.

The other is to consistently point out that this was necessary, has been necessary for some time, and will have to be continued REGARDLESS of who is president.

National Security should not be manipulated by people who do not have our nation's safety at heart. We have seen too much of that the last 13 years.

James D.

MM, your last paragraph says it all.

I see no reason to believe that these strikes actually are part of a strategy designed with our national security or interests foremost in mind.

I see even less reason to believe that, even if they are, that they will be allowed to continue until some real good is accomplished.

I support nothing this administration does, because it has demonstrated, time after time, that it has utter disregard for our national security, and for the lives of the men and women of our military.

There is nothing Obama or anyone in the administration can do, short of resignation en masse that would convince me otherwise. And even then I'm not sure.

Miss Marple

James D, I hear you. I am mistrustful of this because of Obama cutting and running too many times.

However, the air strikes might buy us some time, and at least shut up the "Bush was a war-monger" crowd.

Obama is supposed to speak about this this morning before he leaves for New York to blab about climate. I will watch to see if I can read his motives, which I mistrust.

However, sometimes someone can do the right thing for the wrong reason.

Captain Hate

<9>I think that we did have some Arab countries supporting us in Iraq, but I am frankly too lazy to go research it. Plus they are probably disappearing them from Wikipedia as I speak.

Per Malor Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia all provided support during "Bush's Iraq War."

Miss Marple

Thanks, Captain Hate! I am still trying to wake up, since I was up so late last night.

Miss Marple

I notice Fox has the "serious and scary music for international conflict" music playing.

Jeff Dobbs

Look, ISISILIS, do whatever you want . . . behead Americans, seek to exterminate religious minorities, rape women and children and sell them as sex slaves, overrun large swathes of Iraq, capture Mosul, threaten to strike in the US . . . whatever, you get a #hashtag and Obama will excommunicate you from Islam.

But you don't just go and call Obama a mule and think you can get away with it.

Jane

"Is this the "October Surprise" Beckel was blabbing about? Obama's plan has to do with keeping the Senate so he can pack the courts"

How on earth is bombing Syria going to help that? Barack Obama and nancy Pelosi are now neo-cons. Yeah that should work.

Jane

I do think he went to Syria not Iraq because as you know, he ended the Iraq war.

Miss Marple

Brian Kilmeade:

"One thing ISIS did was paint their headquarters building black, making it easy to find. Good strategy."

henry

Jane, they think war unites Americans behind the administration. (They should ask Johnson about that).

Miss Marple

Krauthammer believes that ISIS intended to provoke us into war.

NKrebooting

Of course ISIS provoked Obummer into this. And a couple of vaporized Jihadis matter not to them, as they love death more than we love life. ISIS will use the bombing to 'justify' some mass slaughter of innocents somewhere, probably Africa (North or sub-sahara) but the 'Climate Summit' today about 500meters from where I am typing may be a good target. If they blow up ManBearPig the melted fat would dam up the East River estuary.

It never ends Hillary activists urge Holder to investigate Walker. With the John Doe and plagiarist Burke going down in flames, time to bring in the Feds to stop Walker. The allegations were tossed by both state and federal judges, but Holder might indict Walker anyway.

Jane

Love it iqvoice.

"Jane, they think war unites Americans behind the administration. (They should ask Johnson about that)."

We'll see but I doubt it. At least not the far left but then again where they gonna go?

NKrebooting

Henry-- now I REALLY support Walker. HildaBeast is siccing that $#@&smoker Brock on Walker, that FagFlak means Walker is over the target.

Jane

Henry,

If Holder takes up this matter I will be apoplectic. He is so damn corrupt.

Bret Stephens is very good in the WSJ today. his take is very much like my Talleyrand reference about the Bourbon restoration in France: "Obummer has learned nothing... and forgotten nothing."

"The U.S. military has performed valiantly and brilliantly in Iraq [and the Levant]. Our troops have done all that we have asked them to do and more. But no amount of American soldiers can solve the political differences at the heart of somebody else's civil war, nor settle the grievances in the hearts of the combatants.

It is my firm belief that the responsible course of action - for the United States, for Iraq [and the Levant], and for our troops - is to oppose this reckless escalation and to pursue a new policy."

Miss Marple

Bolton: "The Saudis and others have been pulling their hair out for months due to this administration's refusal to act. It's not news that THEY are on board, it's news that WE are."

GMax

Now the Tarrance Group is a Republican pollster so do take this with a grain of salt, but I have not seen an Arizona Governor poll previously and this was just released:

GOVERNOR – ARIZONA (Tarrance)
Doug Ducey (R) 44%
Fred DuVal (D) 38%
Barry Hess (L) 6%
JL Mealer (AEA) 1%

Ignatz

--It is my firm belief that the responsible course of action - for the United States, for Iraq, and for our troops - is to oppose this reckless escalation and to pursue a new policy.--

So we're continuing to bomb Iraq and are now bombing Syria...just as we continue to bomb Yemen and Somalia and Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Der's too much de-escaltin' goin' on out der.

Lewiston,Maine has a large Somali immigrant community. A Somali woman was recently interviewed by the Lewiston Sun Journal. She is the ex-wife of a man who was killed in Syria fighting for ISIS. Her personal story is convoluted, she met him in Minnesota, where there is another large Somali community. They left Minnesota, moved to Maine, but he was restless and went back to Minnesota, where he was radicalized. He also wanted to take a second wife and his wife in Lewiston said no and divorced him. That was the last she heard of him, until learning he was killed in Syria. The FBI has visited her three times (she says). The FBI will neither confirm or deny.
We have the example of the Tsarnevs, who were living in plain sight, receiving welfare, but no red flags? Are the communities in Maine and Minnesota being monitored? How many other stories like this woman's are there?

Joe Biden 2012: If Romney Wins, We’ll Go To War In Syria

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Two months before the 2012 presidential election, Vice President Biden warned on the campaign trail that Mitt Romney wanted to go to war with Syria. The video, which was posted by BuzzFeed, was of Biden speaking to supporters at a rally in York, Pa. on Sept. 2, 2012.

“He said it was a mistake to set an end date for our warriors in Afghanistan and bring them home. He implies by the speech that he’s ready to go to war in Syria and Iran,” Biden said in his speech.

Biden also went after the Republican presidential nominee when Romney called Russia America’s “number one geopolitical foe.”

“He wants to move from cooperation to confrontation with Putin’s Russia,” Biden said. “And these guys say the president’s out of touch? Out of touch? Swiss bank account, untold millions in the Cayman Islands. Who’s out of touch, man?”

I'd call him King Pyrrhus but first you have to have a victory before you can say "another such victory and we are undone".

They may be monitored, but the people in charge don't appear to be interested in hearing about it, or doing anything about it, just as they weren't with the Tsarnevs (or the Ft. Hood shooter and the red flags in his record, and...).

Howard Kurtz:

Politico gives Lois Lerner a platform, accepts deal that she won’t discuss IRS scandal

Lois Lerner, it turns out, has a lot to say—except on the subject everyone wants to hear about.

Politico gave her a platform yesterday, and we learned plenty about her good deeds and her vilification and her fervent belief in her own innocence. But the former IRS official—on the advice of lawyers, of course—wouldn’t answer questions about the substance of the scandal.

So a former Obama administration official who has pleaded the Fifth gets to plead her case in one of the top online political sites.

TK,

Strikes on a separate group of terrorists (Pakistanis and Shia Iraqis) called Korroson or something like that.

They had plans to get non-metallic bombs on planes, according to what I heard. So they got blown up.

Could be France did that run, since daddy heard the French were bombing in Iraq but not Syria (as he heard in Oz from Al Jazeera).

CANBERRA, Australia – Police say a man has been shot dead and two counterterrorism police have been stabbed in a confrontation in Australia's second largest city.

Let' see now, Assad is the enemy of our enemy [IS], which makes him our friend, but he's also the enemy of our friend [Israel], which makes him our enemy, and the friend of our enemy [Iran] which also makes him our enemy.

All of this is further complicated by the fact, of course, that it's not entirely clear that President Pyrrhus actually believes Israel is our friend and Iran is our enemy.

The reason Barry couldn't enforce his red line in Syria, and is seemingly in fact, now on the other side of it standing with Assad is; it's a mobious strip. .

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. John Kerry was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Don’t you care if we drown?”

He got up, rebuked the disciples and said to them, “Mother Nature is screaming at you!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “See, this too is proof of global climate disruption warming change.” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this nut?”
