I wonder if his falling poll numbers will hurt his speaking fees post presidency? I'm sure he's counting on Clinton-like fees to make him rich.

Sue

This has been a long six years. And we still have two left. Dios mio.

James D.

Sue, probably.

But it's a relative thing. He might get 100K per speech instead of the 250K he could command if he hadn't run his reputation and the country into a ditch, but that'll still add up pretty quickly.

But when Barack started telling me about his family – that's when I knew I had found a kindred spirit, someone whose values and upbringing were so much like mine.

You see, Barack and I were both raised by families who didn't have much in the way of money or material possessions but who had given us something far more valuable – their unconditional love, their unflinching sacrifice, and the chance to go places they had never imagined for themselves.

My father was a pump operator at the city water plant, and he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when my brother and I were young.

And even as a kid, I knew there were plenty of days when he was in pain...I knew there were plenty of mornings when it was a struggle for him to simply get out of bed.

But every morning, I watched my father wake up with a smile, grab his walker, prop himself up against the bathroom sink, and slowly shave and button his uniform.

And when he returned home after a long day's work, my brother and I would stand at the top of the stairs to our little apartment, patiently waiting to greet him...watching as he reached down to lift one leg, and then the other, to slowly climb his way into our arms.

But despite these challenges, my dad hardly ever missed a day of work...he and my mom were determined to give me and my brother the kind of education they could only dream of.

And when my brother and I finally made it to college, nearly all of our tuition came from student loans and grants.

But my dad still had to pay a tiny portion of that tuition himself.

And every semester, he was determined to pay that bill right on time, even taking out loans when he fell short.

He was so proud to be sending his kids to college...and he made sure we never missed a registration deadline because his check was late.

You see, for my dad, that's what it meant to be a man.

Like so many of us, that was the measure of his success in life – being able to earn a decent living that allowed him to support his family.

And as I got to know Barack, I realized that even though he'd grown up all the way across the country, he'd been brought up just like me.

Barack was raised by a single mother who struggled to pay the bills, and by grandparents who stepped in when she needed help.

(LAUGHTER)

And my desk and my office doesn’t look good. I’ve got to have somebody around me who is keeping track of that stuff.

And that’s not trivial; I need to have good people in place who can make sure that systems run. That’s what I’ve always done, and that’s why we run not only a good campaign, but a good U.S. Senate office.

Pro-Hagan flyer has a picture of a lynching. Was put on cars parked at a Fayetteville church on Sunday #ncpol #ncsen

That's . . . a picture of a lynching. Not that Dems are getting desperate or anything, you know.

So. Fayetteville*.

I spent waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time after the 2008 election analyzing how Obama won the NC (remember, he won by 1400 votes). The biggest change from 2004 to 2008 was in Cumberland County (where Fayetteville is the county seat). The biggest thing in Cumberland/Fayetteville is Fort Bragg. You'da thunk that a county dominated by a military base would be a McCain stronghold. But Cumberland/Fayetteville is also one of the poorest areas of the state, and has one of the higher concentration of blacks. The black vote in Cumberland County turned out in incredible numbers vs 2004 - higher than anywhere else in the state - and basically swung NC to Obama by the thinnest of margins.

The Whipping is now going back to proven stomping grounds, not to mix metaphors or anything.

That flyer will probably get quite a few blacks tot he polls due to the historic memory of lynching, which seems quite remote to us, but is talked about still in many black communities.

It is shameful, but that is how the democrats operate.

Hit,

If blacks can't be whipped hard enough to put a pasty white woman over the line in North Carolina, then what is the future value of the Obama Freeshit Army for '16? Obama's manifest incompetence coupled with his strict adherence to lying as a means of achievement has moved the feeler demographic in the Muddle away from the Democrats. His most obvious lie, Obamacare, is going to continue slapping the feelers in the face whenever they're tempted not to believe their lyin' eyes.

There is no way taking the skin off blacks can compensate for Obama's damage to the feeler demographic.

White House Deletes Obama's 'Unpaid Bills' Admission from Transcript

Last night at a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago, President Obama mentioned that there are some "unpaid bills" on his desk in Chicago--which he left when moved to the White House after winning the presidential election in 2008. Here's what he said:

"One of the nice things about being home is actually that it's a little bit like a time capsule. Because Michelle and I and the kids, we left so quickly that there’s still junk on my desk, including some unpaid bills (laughter) -- I think eventually they got paid -- but they're sort of stacked up. And messages, newspapers and all kinds of stuff."

But that transcript is different than the official White House version, which deletes the "unpaid bills" part:

"there’s still junk on my desk, including some -- newspapers and all kinds of stuff."

The discrepenacy was noticed by the White House pool reporters, and the correct transcript disseminated by them.

"The White House's transcript of tonight's DNC fundraiser omits the president's reference to unpaid bills being stacked up on his desk at home in Chicago. I included a partial quote in the pool report earlier, but in the interest of transparency, especially since this was a print pool only event, I'm sharing the full quote, as I transcribed and checked just now, and as it was in the transcript," a White House pool reporter noted late last night.
