He was lying both times. And all times in between.

narciso,

will Lurch say anything about this:

http://twitchy.com/2014/11/18/gaza-celebrates-palestinian-terrorists-kill-4-inside-jerusalem-synagogue-photos-video/

Beasts of England

21 degrees out right now, and that lead to a new personal best for my 4.0 mile run this morning. I ran out the door and then right back in - less than twenty seconds! Gonna have a hard time besting that time...

Beasts of England

lead = led

Miss Marple

LOL! Beasts, that sort of sounds like my daughter's chihuahua-terrier mix. I opened the door and my English shepherd ran out.

The little dog did a U-turn on the patio and came right back in.

NKontheNovreboot

Obummer is a liar and he's not that smart (TM) ...

henry

Beasts, that would be a heat wave here.

Beasts of England

True, henry, but we don't have any lutefisk to keep us warm! ;)

Beasts of England

I'm glad to know that I'm at least as smart as a Chihuahua-Terrier mix, Miss Marple!! lol

Old Lurker

Bret Baier last week ran a mashup video last week of all the clips of Obama explaining why he did not have the constitutional authority to do immigration on his own. I have looked for that on youtube (it was devastating) but can't find it. Did anyone else see it or have a link to it?

James D.

JiB asked int he last thread:

BTW, could we have a perfect storm of gruber, Ferguson and immigration? If are the MSM which one do you choose to make the front page? Hard choices is what makes modern journalism such a difficult profession.

It'll be Ferguson. The MSM wants riots. They want blood in the streets. Both because it serves their political agenda, and because there are probably hundreds of reporters who are imagining that this is their chance to hit the big time. Bravely reporting from an "American war zone" in a bulletproof vest while a town burns in the background will be somebody's ticket to a major network job or a Pulitzer prize.

Who cares if they're the ones who fanned the flames in the first place, or that innocent residents of Ferguson are losing their businesses, homes or possibly lives...there's a political point to be made, and careers to advance!

NKontheNovreboot

JamesD@844 is absolutely correct. The Legacy Media will not disappoint by choosing the lowest of the lowest path to take. Because of that trifecta of major stories, plus add in recognizing 'Palestine' as a state in its '67 borders, PLUS recognizing the sovereignty of the Mullahs as a Nuke Power, Obummer will have gone Full Third World Prog. What will we do about it?

NKontheNovreboot

JamesD-- you neglected to mention the obvious (so I will): the St Lou County prosecutor and grand jurors upheld their lawful duty by correctly and justly not returning a true bill. Regular 'folks' doing the right thing, while that cretin in DC reveals himself to be a true racialist monster.

RickB

It's 14° in Ferguson with a predicted high of 30°.

The rioters are ready

And I also think we’re not going to get change in this society unless white people are just a little bit afraid.

Of what? Running out of ammo while there are still targets?

Jane

Repeat from last thread:

Capn' (BTw I just posted your 8:05 on facebook)

Re: "Jane Won": Back in 2008 the girl gang - Clarice, CC Porch, Glass, Caro, Ann and a bunch of others were fighting over Mark Steyn.

Clarice, as always, was the odds on favorite. But I decided that was not going to happen.

On the NR cruise that year with JMH, Caro, Laura, Sandy and Windy Daze, Windy - who I believe was 12 at the time and I conspired to beat her.

So while sitting at table 139 we stole the sign, inverted it and Windy wrote in bold magic marker "Jane! Won".

The game was on. Post dinner was a Night Owl session, with Jonah, Mark Steyn, Rob Long and Roman Genn. Those are just pure comedy - and alcohol.

When it was over, Windy asked Marc to hold the sign, Caro whipped out her camera, and the tradition began.

Now it is just a matter of tradition and rubbing it in.

Beasts of England

@NK: I wouldn't be too surprised to see more push-back from his own party. As has been noted, they (want to) have future political careers - he doesn't. Lots of comments - and even articles - in the leftosphere are calling into question his sanity and actions.

Am I predicting a full-blown mutiny? Not sure. Remember, these leftards have no decency. Win at any cost. MomJeans, at this point, is politically expendable. Wishful thinking? Dunno.

NKontheNovreboot

Insty links about Dem Progs smearing black Repubs: the Dems don't even try to hide it, they openly admit that they run a racial plantation and black 'folks' have to stay in poverty and in the Free Stuff Army. Just disgusting.

narciso,

well I'm afraid 'a hard rain's gonna fall' to quote Dylan, because of Fithian's efforts among others, although this intifada could be short lived, since it's already prologue, I remember the coverage of the LA riots.

Janet - I wish my family had a poncho

Bret Baier last week ran a mashup video last week of all the clips of Obama explaining why he did not have the constitutional authority to do immigration on his own.

THis one OL ? - https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152477192732951&pnref=story

Extraneus

Why didn't the Times mention his comments from 2006?

“[T]here’s no denying that many blacks share the same anxieties as many whites about the wave of illegal immigration flooding our Southern border—a sense that what’s happening now is fundamentally different from what has gone on before.”

”Not all these fears are irrational,” he wrote.

“The number of immigrants added to the labor force every year is of a magnitude not seen in this country for over a century,” Obama noted. “If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole—especially by keeping our workforce young, in contrast to an increasingly geriatric Europe and Japan—it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.”

Captain Hate

Not only is 404 a borderline retard, he thinks the rest of the nation is too dumb to remember what he previously said. Which is strange because of how obsessed he is with himself.

NKontheNovreboot

BoE-- with respect; the Dem 'push-back' is from the Old White Libs and faux 'Centrists'. Obummer hates American Patriots most, but his immediate target is those White Dem Libs and Centrists. He's purging them by making making them toxic in their competitive districts. He's playing Hitler to their Ernst Rohm. He wants them gone so there are no Dem voices urging 'compromise'; he wants full Prog loyalty and obedience in the Party. Those Dems know it and they are desperate to save their own skins. They will fail IMO and Obummer will make the Dems a full on Third World Prog Party by January '17.

henry

A couple thoughts for when Ferguson erupts. Multiple targets listed by the protestors (violence possible at some / all). Beyond The Ferguson and St Ann PDs in north county, County Courthouse in Clayton are targets in peculiar places to make "people who don't look like me" nervous. These include the Plaza Frontenac in West St Louis County, where one protest already occurred. Frontenac is between Ladue to the east and Town and Country* to the west. (Chesterfield is a bit farther west, that is where DHS parked their fleet of attack SUVs over the weekend). The entire area includes a big Jewish population, and the pro-pali part of the protest group probably knows that.

* I grew up in Town and Country, but left before Bob Costas built his McMansion there.

Captain Hate

Obviously Luis Gutierrez (C-La Raza) wasn't consulted:

http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/11/18/even-the-democrats-want-obama-to-hold-off-on-immigration-executive-action/

Old Lurker

That's it Janet!

Spread it far and wide and why does GOPe not run it as a PSA?

Jack is Back!e

JamesD,

Of course my comment you quote in your 8:44 was done whil my tongue was firmly planted in my cheek:) I have no doubt whatsoever where the MSM heart and soul lies.

Then you look at that presser in Bribane where he was his petulant best and most obnoxious where he poked the WH Press corp in the eye and they laughed instead of crying foul. Masochist meets sadist in front of the whole world. Guess who is laughing now.

Old Lurker

Jury is still out on your 9:01 Cap'n, the election notwithstanding.

NKontheNovreboot

CaptH-- very true: Obummer is a borderline retard from our perspective because we deal with facts and reason. But Obummer from his Third World Prog perspective believes himself to be a sooper-genius. To Progists the ability to say completely contradictory things, at different times, but all in the cause of Progism is pure genius and a great virtue. Orwell explained the importance of this genius to lie in 1984. Progs and Islam and Hitler/Stalin/Mao all have the same fundemental view of human nature and political power.

Old Lurker

I do hope the GJ gives the cop a complete pass and does not try to thread a needle with some lesser bunk. Clarity is required here about what happens when you reach for a cop's gun to try to kill him.

Captain Hate

JiB, F Chuck was ridiculed by 404 in Israel at a presser and still dutifully carries his water. People who have no self respect shouldn't wonder why nobody trusts them.

NKontheNovreboot

henry-- thanks for the geography lesson. My son was explainng that to me this weekend. Is it too much to ask the 'protesters' to burn that little runt's McMansion to the ground?

Beasts of England

@NK: I think you made a similar point the other day and I mostly concur. I don't think that the Clinton wing will go away quietly and they still retain an extraordinary amount of power. And votes. It's fun to watch, regardless.

henry

NK, the McMansion is only a mile or so from Frontenac Plaza. You never know.

narciso,

Mark 'Tiger Beat' Landler does much of the same,
hence my nic for him,

Captain Hate

NK, I wholeheartedly agree with how badly 404 is trashing the donk party and about how they're too stupid to counter it. I don't think I've seen anything like it before although the RINOs having such ill concealed contempt for the base has been an ongoing illustration of dysfunctionality going back at least 50 years.

Beasts of England

@henry: Given your roots in the area, do you have any prediction on how this crap may play out? I don't know much about Missourians, but would be surprised if they took this racial / anarchy stupidity without a fight of some sort.

Old Lurker

Speaking of the Skins, if you were a QB with fragile joints, would you blame your lack of stardom on under performance by the rest of your team? Might that be a mistake? Just wondering.

Captain Hate

I know it's a good time to pile on RG3 for a variety of valid reasons, most of which are of his own making, but the O line of the Redskins is one of the worst in football. Colt McCoy was used to running for his life in Cleveland and probably should have been kept as the starter.

Dublindave

I love how Obama ruined Republicans big moment of victory and jubilation with this executive action stuff-it's classic Obama.

This amnesty ensures decades of greaser voters for the Democratic party AND their children. Millions upon millions of brand new liberals.....primae noctis-we're literally going to breed you Republicans out of existence.

NKontheNovreboot

BoE-- I agree with that. The Clintonistas, and by that I mean their gangster organization, the hundreds of 30,40 50-something professional fund raisers, lawyers, pollsters etc. will fight like hell to keep their jobs and the main Clinton $$$$ cronies will fight to keep HildaBeast relevant so the influence they bought stays valuable. But those money cronies are really all the Clintonista have, events and the Dem voters have moved on from the Clintons. I think they lose this Civil war to the ProgTards, and the MoneyBackers move their influence buying, they are just mercenaries.

Jane:
Repeat from last thread

Oh, I'll let my last on that thread stay over there.

Jane

"Not only is 404 a borderline retard, he thinks the rest of the nation is too dumb to remember what he previously said. Which is strange because of how obsessed he is with himself"

The narcissist in my family never remembers what she said and denies it regardless of the number of witnesses.

Captain Hate

Time will not be kind to the Clintoon crime family. Slick looks like Bob Barker's dimwitted brother and is probably close to spanking it in public with his low impulse control. Rodham looks like a scullery maid with poor personal hygiene. The kindest thing I can say about the First Perpetual Child is that she's extremely introverted with the fashion sense of Clarabelle the Clown.

Don't Stop Thinking About the 90s.

FTL

Is it too much to ask the 'protesters' to burn that little runt's McMansion to the ground?

I, for one, hope this does not happen.

As satisfying as it would be, you just know the runt will hijack the next available halftime show to give a long, heartfelt mea maxima culpa to the social justice warriors who torched his place.

Captain Hate

Wow, Jane, that fits perfectly.

rse

CH just loves the illustrative metaphors.

Clarabelle indeed.

Beasts of England

Dang, DuDa. Perhaps you missed the NYT article the other day destroying the lib demographic superiority myth. Ya know, y'all have had this fantasy for thirty years, but it's never gelled. Of course, if you keep aborting the little unborn brown babies all the ius primae noctis in the world ain't gonna help your cause.

And President I, Me, Mine can throw all the petulant tantrums he wants. He's only hurting the libs - no one else. Keep f*cking that chicken, Dave!

NKontheNovreboot

FTL@0931: you are right about the runt's mea maxima culpa... but you see, for me, that makes the McMansion burndown... priceless!

henry

Beasts, we will see. However the north side (of the county, north in the city is the same as East St Louis) is very blue collar (auto workers when there were still plants); west areas are affluent, especially Clayton, Ladue, Frontenac, Town and Country, Ballwin, Chesterfield (basically a line out US 40, now an interstate with a different number); south county is very redneck (Chrysler plant I worked at is still there); south St Louis is Italian -- has the brewery and produced Yogi Berra and a slew of other major leaguers.

You get outside of St Louis & the county you have ridge runners all the way to Texarkana. State Police are big dudes with Smokey Bear hats that are good at saying "ain't frum round here" then spitting tobacco juice on your shoes. Local police are similar, but fatter & meaner.

Net, I expect a lot of suburban shelter in place unless the protestors move south. Then lead flies.

NKontheNovreboot

BoE-- "keep f$*king that chicken" is that from the unfortunate Ernie Anastos quote up here in NYC a few years back? Ernie's a fine Greek Gent BTW.

Jack is Back!

henry,

Anyone know the details of gun ownership in St. Louis County? Might want to publish those staffs in the AME church bulletins this Sunday (unless its too late).

Jack is Back!

...staffs = stats.

Beasts of England

Thanks, henry! While I hope for a peaceful resolution, I fear that the idiots are lapping up the tacit approval from our earless leaders and will choose poorly.

@NK: I have no idea of its derivation, but love that line! I'll have to investigate big Ern...

NKontheNovreboot

henry-- speaking of South St Lou, when was the last time you were at Hodak's?

Speaking of North St Lou, I've only driven through, I've never been to Detroit, so North St Lou has the most vacant land I've ever seen in a city.

narciso,

so I DVRed the Michelle infomercial, starring Katherine Heigl, it seems like the production staff of Rock Center was behind it,

Captain Hate

Welp that would provide an argument that Anderson Cooper isn't the dumbest person @ CNN.

Btw on the books to supplement the Aubrey/Maturin novels, I've used both "A Sea of Words" and "Harbors and High Seas"; the former for the nautical terms and the latter for maps. As far as the spoilers in the latter, with multiple books still yet to go I've figured out that they both live through the adventures.

henry

JiB, don't know on the gun ownership. Gun stores have been doing a brisk business the past couple months though. The only things I can add are: when I worked at Chrysler, our local went on a wild cat strike to get paid deer season (and got it); a friend in high school made gun stocks in shop class.

Jane

Is everyone else as jubilant over Gruber as I am?

Do you guys think I did away with Caro and Alice?

NKontheNovreboot

BoE-- the 'line' happened on live TV news up here in NYC. Ernie is one of those old fashioned jolly news Anchors (he really is a nice guy) and the copy in front of him was to smile and say "Keep plucking those chickens!" after some story about a chicken plucker. He put a spin on the copy, I am sure it's on YouTube.

Captain Hate

I'm kind of surprised Alice hasn't made an appearance.

henry

NK, 30 years on Hodak's. I used to play for a St Louis League team based at Berra Park. Cross the river and you'll see that the north side is a thriving metropolis.

NKontheNovreboot

30 years? I guess you are still digesting that Hodak's meal :)

Soylent Red

It's 14° in Ferguson with a predicted high of 30°.

You know what keeps protestors warm? Burning neighborhoods down.

The police should cordon off Ferguson and let the professional protestors burn the mutha down. Don't even send in emergency services. Perhaps what's about to happen in Ferguson can serve as an object lesson in how not to achieve political relevance.

I predict pain.

Not only is 404 a borderline retard, he thinks the rest of the nation is too dumb to remember what he previously said. Which is strange because of how obsessed he is with himself.

I would say 404 comes from somewhat south of that border, in deepest extra-chromosome, short-bus, Gump-istan. The man's entire political career, if not life, is in flagrant violation of the Lazarus Injunction.

However, mouthbreathing as he may be, Obama learned his low-level Marxist agitation from the race hustlers and machine fascists in Chicago who perfected it. He believes that if he (metaphorically) pushes out his chest and shouts loud enough, he will perhaps win the argument, but more importantly, solidify the support of the hooting chimpanzees who support him. He doesn't give a big rat's ass what he said yesterday or a a year ago, or whether you remember it. He's interested in winning today's shouting match, not the philosophical argument.

Janet - I wish my family had a poncho

Do you guys think I did away with Caro and Alice?

I figure they are climbing a mountain somewhere or crossing the Atlantic with just a compass, a small loaf of bread, a hook, & a bit of string.
Hah!

GMax

Does Zero want to be sent bill after bill that is popular with this or that section of his stitched together constituency and be forced to sign or even worse to veto. I thought we were going to "get stuff done." So he is going to become the face of obstruction in Washington? He is going to tar baby up the entire Liar Party to where it will be difficult to get elected dog catcher in any place that would never let Dan Malloy on the ballot at least... That is around 3/4 of the country and all of the growth areas...

Captain Hate

It's 13 degrees of globull warming here. Good thing the wind is blowing almost directly from the west since that keeps the lake effect snow from coming inland. I'll bet Buffalo gets *really* hammered by it.

We have a wall so blue and tall and Democratic it guarantees any Liberal running for President 259 out of the 270 votes needed to capture the White house.

Good luck getting past that hurdle.

In 2016 Republicans will be defending 23 Senate seats and before they spend two years showing the American people how well they can govern(snicker),19 of those seats are competitive.

19. Ouch. Before you even have a chance to show the American people what you can do. Double-ouch.

Oh,and about that "Governing". Now that you completely run Congress and control all the levers of power, you've decided to give the American people a preview of your "governing" agenda over the next two years and it's based upon two things:Impeaching the President and shutting down the government.

See you in 2016.

NKontheNovreboot

CaptH-- yep. Places like Hamburg NY will get 4' of Lake Effect snow by tomorrow. You'll probbaly have 60 degrees by sunday though.

what ever happened to Checkers and that cloth coat GMax?

Captain Hate

Have you ever noticed that 404 is never in a position where he's sharing space with an intimidating alpha male like Allen West who would tell him to just shut up and stop sounding like a fool? I thought the quotes by Michael Jordan about what a terrible golfer he is were very revealing about what anybody packing a normal or higher amount of testosterone thinks about the annoying little dweeb. He's always immersed in beta geeks who would shudder at having to kill a spider.

Miss Marple

Old Lurker, I think Paul Ryan did at those televised budget negotiations, where 404 looked at Ryan like he wanted to have him eliminated.

His attack on Ryan as a captive audience some years later reminds me that 404 has a perpetual grudge against anyone who opposes him.

His response? At Chanukah he will recognize the Palestian State at the '67 Borders and order the Jooz to retreat-- he'll use Chanukah as a prop, claiming that like the Jooz holding out against the Big Bad Hellenic Oppressors (back in the day I took a fair bit of flack about Hellenic Oppressors from my 30 jewish classmates in class 6-2 at PS 209), today's Israel must yield to the little Third World Upstarts. This is no joke he will do almost exactly this at some point sooner than later.

Marlene

The scenes from the synagogue murders are horrific.
henry,Fox showed a quote from Rattner, who said on MSNBC this morning that Gruber was "the man."
There is an intense snow squall outside my window right now,but not that cold. All you southerners are enjoying the cold,I guess. Of course, many of you are down south from where I'm sitting. :)

I had no idea that the legislative branch governed, DuDa. Thought that was the executive branch. Huh. And why would the reps be worried about defending their seats? The only ones recently voted out of office were dems. Heck, my US Senator ran unopposed in the primary and general elections.

And who's gonna be your presidential candidate in 2016? Granny Cankles? Talk about voter fatigue! Lieawatha Warren? Oh, yeah - this country's really ready for an egghead with zero private sector or executive experience!!

It's gonna be a rough six to ten years for you, Dave. My advice: drink heavily.

The gun that won the west, Colt, near bankruptcy.

Smith and Wesson and Remington also suffering declining revenues [and they were all probably burdened with massive debt by their "investor" owners].

Most American firms have not innovated in either shotgun or rifle areas and face not only foreign competition but many smaller domestic competitors in almost all areas.

Ben

" you've decided to give the American people a preview of your "governing" agenda over the next two years and it's based upon two things:Impeaching the President and shutting down the government.

They think 'governing' is just for the Executive, so they're not worried until they get the WH.

AliceH

I made it back! Had some flight challenges - connecting flight canceled, next flight overbooked, made it the one after that, got home to snow and freezing temps around midnight. My checked luggage is by now supposedly in Missouri somewhere. Might show up today.

Meeting Jane and Caro was the best part of the trip. Those who've already met them know this, of course, but it was especially appreciated by me to have two welcoming friends there - it made all the difference in the world.

NR sessions ranged from "okay" to *wonderful*. My brain is not recovered from information overload so not able to give considered commentary, but the Allen West/Bing West session stands out. Those two have such a great repoir and their personalities are so strong, the effect was electrifying.

Dinner with Ed Whelan was delightful. I'd hoped to get him to share a Scalia story, but the Convo bent more toward judicial activism.

Andy McCarthy somehow combined huge confidence, conviction and certainty in everything he said with excellent listening/understanding skills, making table conversation lively. He was not hard to hear over the room noise :)

Also had dinner w Guy Benson, but at opposite end of a longish table, so I couldn't hear him. He did wave his arms around a lot with energy ;)

St. Thomas was forgettable. St. Maarten/Martin was in fact quite a nice day trip (catamaran around the island, followed by coach drive within).

Food on the ship was plentiful and some was quite good. The public areas of the ship were, without exception, too loud for easy conversation which is my only big complaint.

Very glad to be home, despite waking up to 12 degree temps.

--They think 'governing' is just for the Executive, so they're not worried until they get the WH.--

I believe the thrust of the point is with a hostile chief executive who will veto anything they pass that is based on their beliefs they can hardly be said to be governing anymore than the Dems could from 2006 to 2008, although they faced a far more amenable CEO in George "we had to kill the free market to save it" Bush.

Beasts of England

Gotta love the left. There just ain't enough laws on the books - crank up the legislative branch!! Pass a budget, vet a few judges - pretty sure that works for me. Now, if the left wants to see some useless laws and crushing regulations repealed, then let's go!! Somehow, though, I don't think that's what they have in mind. Oh, well...
