Oneth?!

henry

A what about the undocumented voters?

MarkO

Gwyneth?

Ronny

Mr Obama, tear down that border.

maryrose

Tres!
Washington Post today urging Obama to hold off. Let's see what he actually does on immigration. Not deporting some people... He's not doing that now!

Iggy

Yuck, I never wanted to be under Gwyneth.

GMax

Gosh Josh, how did the Gorditos work out for your team? I think you are about to outkick your coverage, AGAIN! Read up on the definition of insanity and get back to me...

Jeff Dobbs

Yuck, I never wanted to think about what Josh Marshall does with one hand when contemplating some Obama action.

rse

The DoJ will be doing everything it can to prevent scrutiny or tossing out the votes by all those adults covered by the XO. Perhaps new friends as well.

That has always been the point--to use the West's rules on democracy against them through the ballot box. One of my Radical Left newsletters yesterday mentioned that the Economic Justice oriented radio program they were doing once a week with some Marxist prof now had 35 radio stations broadcasting.

It is ridiculously cold out there for January, much less mid-November. If this does signal the nature of the winter, it will be a brutal time to be shutting down coal plants.

Extraneus

So everyone who knows an illegal immigrant will vote for Democrats in 2016?

clarice

why shouldn't they come--they are being offered, inter alia, free medical care without the need to even purchase insurance?

Captain Hate

Yes, these people have been waiting for years to be able to come out of the shadows. But it's one thing to wait and another to come out of the shadows and then be forced to retreat into the darkness, with a perhaps heightened risk of deportation and family separation.

The picture at Drudge of the fat whores giving the finger to customs agents didn't look like they were "in the shadows" or worried about it. Maybe Josh needs to get out more.

Beasts of England

One of the organizer idiots in Ferguson had her car stolen. Play with fire and you get burned, I guess. And all that instant carma karma stuff...

Ben

Imagine where we would be if he had done this when promised.

I think he has regrets but they entail his legacy more than doing the right thing.

NKontheNovreboot

JoshM is obnoxious but he's not stupid. he knows that this whole illegal business from Driver's Licenses to pathway to citizenship is all about restoring and increasing the Margin of Fraud in future elections. Voter ID laws will eventually minimize the old fashioned 'walking around' money and box lunches that were given to AA voters. That cuts down the margin of fraud in big cities/counties in competitive state elections (NC, Fla, Va, Pa, Ohio, Mich etc) so La Raza vote fraud from Driver License ID and cable bills will have to replace it. JoshM knows it; the rest from him about 'shadows'is outright BS.

matt

Do you really think they will be violenting for very long in Ferguson at 14 dergrees Farenheit? C'mon, y'all?

They'll get out there and realize it's colder than a banker's heart and head for someplace warm and indoors ASAP. The first indoor riot? Is there a mall they can protest in in Ferguson or did they already burn it down?

I really think the majority is readying to slam down on the leftists very, very hard. Good Americans will hold back and be polite until a line is crossed, and it looks like with Ferguson, the immigration debacle, and the rest of the scandals that line is being crossed.

David Brooks is in full yo-yo mode and the media are doing more contortions than the rubber lady on the midway. The jig is up and now the lies and contradictions are simply boggling most people's minds.

"If you like your health insurance" has morphed into a modality of bald lies that is unprecedented.

He really does plan to go full autocrat.

I wrote here that I thought he might go full Allende and it looks like this is the path that he has chosen.

Captain Hate

One of the organizer idiots in Ferguson had her car stolen. Play with fire and you get burned, I guess. And all that instant carma karma stuff...

Who'd she report it to? In her eyes the police are the worst people in the history of mankind so she would have to be a horrible hypocrite and in constant fear for her life to report it to them, no? Maybe Sharpton can get it back for her. That sounds like a winner...

Beasts of England

She tweeted it, Captain. Although the thought of her having to file a report with the police is delicious irony. I guess she'll be walking (down the middle of the street) now!

Pants up! Don't loot!

Old Lurker

Matt, in just the last week we have seen stories about the EPA going all out on Climate Change, the Ed people going all out on racial equality, the President going all out on opening the borders, and I suppose all the other dept heads have their own all out plans in the works.

Captain Hate

When I saw the title of the thread I thought it might be about Gallaudet University.

rse

OL-the final drop dead date for all the governors to have their WIOA compliant economic development plans and boards set up locally and at the state level and the plans filed for approval with DoLabor and Ed is March 2016.

Supposed to be done earlier so basically any Rep Governor will be running for Pres in 2016 in the primaries with that as public record. Something highly likely to anger part of the base of primary voters. Anyone think the timing is an accident?

RickB

"So everyone who knows an illegal immigrant will vote for Democrats in 2016?"

Not exactly. The Mothers of Precious Snowflakes (MoPS) are more than a little leery of the Fascist racists' program to distribute spoils solely on the basis of color. The MoPS demonstrated their opposition this year and the 18-24 split provides a strong indication that MoPS antipathy is being passed on to Precious Snowflake herself. As Precious Snowflake matures and watches spoils distributed by color, it is quite likely her antipathy will harden as it grows.

We really shouldn't interfere with gruber model driven progicide.

NKontheNovreboot

OL@12:20-- absolutely. It's full on Prog witching hour. Obummer only has 26 months to cause as much damage as possible to the Dem faux centrists and to the USA.

GMax

In the first of many such extremely enjoyable spectacles, Dead Woman Walking is running around hysterically looking for the 60th vote on Keystone. She probably wont get it, but she did get greenies protesting on her front lawn.

But I count 9 Democrat votes for Keystone which come January will be more than enough to make Zero squirm and squeal like a pig. Maybe we should have it hand delivered by Joni Earnst? LOL

Janet - I wish my family had a poncho

Look at this!! BREAKING: Streetcar Project Canceled

http://www.arlnow.com/2014/11/18/breaking-streetcar-project-canceled/

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!

“I have come to the conclusion that the only way to move forward together … is to discontinue the streetcar project,” Fisette said. “After close consultation with [County Board members Mary] Hynes and [Walter] Tejada — and our colleagues in Fairfax and Richmond — we have agreed that all spending on streetcar must end.”

Captain Hate

JANET FTW!!!!

Happy birthday to this guy:

Jonathan Turley Will Represent House of Representatives in Lawsuit Against Obama's Executive Lawbreaking

Captain Hate

So how far along were the streetcars? Is there gonna be a giant dumpster fire because that could be fun.

narciso,

when you've confused John Stewart, you wonder why he was on your side,

maryd

Congratulations, Janet!

henry

Well done Janet! That leaves Barrett as the last great hope of streetcar (now more doomed than Landrieu in a runoff).

Jane

Congrats Janet! You did it!

Iggy

--I really think the majority is readying to slam down on the leftists very, very hard.--

Barry seems bent on forcing the Dems into a Rubicon moment; the only difference is the river they cross if they follow Barry is the river Styx.

And yes I realize I could have stopped after "Barry seems bent..."

Jane

I think that must be good news about Turley -not sure.

peter

that stupid lawsuit is rearing its head again

narciso,

I think the review is still too charitable,

http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/hartache_819006.html?page=3

NKontheNovreboot

Yeah-- Jonathan Turley!! I find it outrageous that the Prog/Dem crony bastards strong arem DC law firms to not take Congress's paying business, but bastards like Holder sued GWB repeatedly repping Jihadis. Scoundrels and sons of bitches, we need to take a flamethrower to DC. Well at least I can satisfy my NYS 'pro bono' $$$ contribution by contributing to Turley.

Janet-- many congrats on the streetcar. One less flamethrower target in DC though, but that's a good thing.

clarice

Hey--isn't all ownership--including cars--theft?

clarice

Janet!! Janet!! Janet!! (Now come over here and do it to ours which in any event looks like we've spent a billion books for a streetcar which will travel just a few blocks and further jam up traffic.

Beasts of England

Congrats, Janet!

Janet - I wish my family had a poncho

So how far along were the streetcars?

they hadn't built anything yet. They were still in the "spend millions for studies & marketing phase."

It makes sitting at those farmer's markets & having a methane gas kook yell at me, worth it!

clarice

Janet--she delivers! Now, run for office--you can establish that you worked successfully to defeat the streetcar boondoggle.

Beasts of England

Another idiot protest leader in Ferguson had her home burgled while she was out protesting. You can't make this crap up!! Ha!

Beasts of England

lol, Clarice! They'll be trying to unown a bunch of flat screens pretty soon!!

Jeff Dobbs

Janet for Secretary of Transportation in a Walker administration.

Janet - I wish my family had a poncho

No, no, no...I'm too rough around the edges, have a (very)checkered past!, & am too ditzy.
I smoke too. Nicorette gum wouldn't cut it for me. :)

a streetcar which will travel just a few blocks and further jam up traffic.

That's what ours was gonna be. Insane. An uber expensive bus on tracks with an electrical wire overhead.

Old Lurker

Janet, will I now be getting a rebate of my Arlington County RE taxes?

Thank you in advance.

maryrose

Janet: Congratulations1 You are my new heroine!
TM: Happy Belated birthday . I was ill yesterday so I missed the post Hit put up. Thanks again for providing this forum for all of us.

henry

But Janet, you could join the cabinet Harley rides!

maryrose

Beasts:
Karma is running wild in Ferguson. I hope the normal locals fight back in some way and take back their city from these thugs.

Victory for Janet! Congrats, and as a fellow Arlingtonian, THANK YOU!

maybe he should stay on the golf course, dissing Tony Abbott,

Danube on iPad

Very nicely done, Janet.

Danube on iPad

Josh Marshall is not talking about the sluts at the border. He is talking about people who, under the terms of Obama's proposal, have been living here for at least five years.

Janet - I wish my family had a poncho

narciso's WZ link is something.

"2 attackers" ????

WZ asks - "Mr. Obama, what tensions were the people exciting by praying in a synagogue?"

Rob Crawford

So, DoT, he's talking about the sluts inside the country.

They're still criminals, no matter how long their criminal career has been running. They are also not US citizens, and should be deported to someplace in the middle of a deep body of water.

NKontheNovreboot

Janet-- make sure you send an Invoice to OL for not less than 5% of all net Arlington Co tax savings ... wait a second.. 'net savings'...hmm.. better make that 'gross savings' let OL make the case of any offsets.

NKontheNovreboot

long-time fence jumpers/visa violators or recent medicaid moochers, JoshM doesn't care... it 's all about the lawful status to increase the margin of vote fraud.

Janet - I wish my family had a poncho

will I now be getting a rebate of my Arlington County RE taxes?

Hah! Good luck with THAT!

I didn't do anything except follow Jane's instruction - get up off the couch & save your country (or city in this case). I just volunteered with the opposition.

Danube on iPad

Wonderful, if the guy is correct:

"The chairman of the House Appropriations Committee pitched GOP colleagues on a plan to rescind funding for targeted programs in the next Congress to respond to President Obama's planned executive amnesty, throwing a new idea into a ring already full of them.

“'Chairman Rogers just got up and said if we pass an omnibus and then the president does this executive amnesty, he said we can rescind it, and we can rescind it with 218 and 51 and we don't need the president. That's what he just told me. I've never heard that before,' said Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ), a key conservative lawmaker who has emerged as a leader in crafting strategy on the issue."

Death to Islam. Death to the supporters of terror. Death to Palestinians who danced in the streets.

That is all.

James D.

Re: Narciso's link @ 1:24

So we have three American citizens, in Temple, at prayer, slaughtered by Palestinian terrorists. The response of the President of the United States:

Israel must lower tensions.

There's going to come a point in the next two years where the R's are going to have to impeach Obama, in order to show that they're at least trying to stop him from doing further damage to this country and its citizens. How high does the body count have to go before we get there?

Danube on iPad

"They're still criminals, no matter how long their criminal career has been running."

Those who entered on a visa, and stayed here after it expired, have committed no crime at all.

NKontheNovreboot

DoT@1:39. That what I assumed they would do since the Senate results last week. Of course Obummer will veto the recision, but then the Debt Ceiling will be conditioned on the same things. Ultimately, Obummer, and Obummer alone will be shutting down the gov't over HIS OWN EOs. Coming after his budget recision vetoes, that is a winning hand to play with persuadable voters to start the '16 war of attrition.

Porchlight

Congratulations, Janet and the city of Arlington! So proud of our JOM protest warrior. :)

Miss Marple

Congratulations, Janet!

That is just great!

maryrose

DOT:
They need to take their expired visa to the state department and get it renewed. We had foreign exchange students in high school who wanted to attend college here and we as counselors talked to the State Department so that they could stay.

MarkO

It's Megyn Kelly's birthday.

I think I'm supposed to spank her.

Captain Hate

Yes, maryrose, we had a student from Germany going to HB staying with us whose visa was somehow screwed up and we took her to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and the Canucks screwed up by letting her in. When we tried to come back I had to wait in a room with a bunch of who knows what before a border guy told me that she had to go to the federal building and get it straightened out stat. Which she did.

rich@gmu

Congratulations Janet, and well done.

Miss Marple

So true.

"Of course Obummer will veto the recision"

As I understand the congressman, they don't need the president.

NKontheNovreboot

Budget Resolutions need to be signed by the POTUS before they become law.

Overstaying your visa without permission isn't a crime?

Does that mean I can keep driving after my license expires?

RickB

"I've never heard that before"

No, Congressman, you've never misunderstood what you heard in that way before. Reconciliation can be used to avoid cloture and rescission can be done within a reconciliation but BOzo has to sign it before it becomes law.

Congress can't play Lucy and the football with the Executive on the budget.

The key in this farce is the length of the CR/Omnibus to be passed by this Congress and the ability of the new Congress to move an actual budget - or a series of ever diminishing CR's in conjunction with an ever increasing number of actual department budgets.

Captain Hate

Yes, Rick, this Congress has to pass a very short CR to enable the new Congress to reflect the wishes of the voters.

rich@gmu

Overstaying your visa without permission isn't a crime?

>>>No. It is a civil violation. DoT has been mentioning previously actions can be unlawful or actions can be illegal. In regards to visa overstay-it is a violation of civil immigration regulations, generally speaking, and it requires navigating the immigration bureaucracy to straighten out-up to and including leaving the country.

Does that mean I can keep driving after my license expires?

>>>It depends on the state. It is unlawful to do so, generally, but you can if you are willing to take the risk. TC would most likely recommend you get it straightened out before you go driving however.

"Budget Resolutions need to be signed by the POTUS before they become law."

Perhaps the rescission is not a budget resolition. I don't know. All I know is that the guy who is propsing it says the president's signature is nit needed.

GMax

I am pretty sure given the Unaffordable Care Act was passed with reconciliation, that the majority can pass almost anything they wish using reconciliation. And if the Democrats whine, tell them to both pound sand and take it up with the now minority leader...

Danube on iPad

Driving on an expired license is not a crime.

Buckeye

Damn fine job Janet.

jimmyk

Great work, Janet.

Barry on the terrorist atrocity: "Too many Israelis have died, too many Palestinians have died."

So what is the right amount? Today it was 4 Israelis, 2 Palestinians. Seems to me the second number was just right, not "too many." Barry is incapable of making such fine distinctions as between good and evil, innocent and guilty.

jimmyk

the majority can pass almost anything they wish using reconciliation

Yes, but the President still has to sign it into law. I do look forward to the MSM trying to spin Barry's vetoes as Republican obstructionism.

Danube on iPad

"[Chairman Rogers] said we can rescind it, and we can rescind it with 218 and 51 and we don't need the president. That's what he just told me."

Dunno.

THanks so much , hit!!

White House Threatens To Veto Bills That Would Require More EPA Reporting
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/17/white-house-veto_n_6175038.html

You are just supposed to trust them, shut up, & send more money. Approved "experts" may not be questioned. Gruber & his Obamacare lies are living proof of how that works out.

FTA - "One would require the EPA to disclose scientific data behind proposed regulations. The White House says some data is not released to protect the privacy of test subjects or confidential business information."

Shanika from DMV

"In Illinois, driving without a license can result in criminal charges. The law requires all persons who operate a vehicle on highways to possess a valid driver’s license."

matt

Hooray for Janet! The Taxpayer's friend!

Today's NYT also enlightens us on the unholy alliance between the insurance companies and Obama. They should also look into Big Pharma.

The whole thing is crony capitalism at its worst. Buying off the state of Massachusetts on Romneycare; The Nebraska deal, Landrieu's deal. It's as crooked as crooked gets.

On another note I just had another very weird coincidence. Querida forwarded an news article from last week on the use of brain stimulation to treat PTSD. She gets all the news feeds on autism and so this came in the back door, if you will.

USC's Medical School has a clinic in town that does this particular treatment for autism. It apparently works on some PTSD patients as well.

I posted the article on FB on our Association page and one of the 509'ers recognized the subject of the article as one of ours. He was badly injured in '06 in Iraq.

I called over there and he is out of town. I stated that we were 509'ers and the receptionist told me to wait a minute because one of the other people working there was in the same unit.

Turned out that the kid is one of the experts on the technology and he was part of the PSD (bodyguard) team for one of my best friends. heading over there tomorrow.

Very strange. Right here in town. I have known of this kid for years, and now he and his buddy are working on the same kinds of issues as myself.

Old Lurker

DoT I am sure the guy who never heard of it is still confused about where the President's signature is needed in the process. I suspect he is mesmerized by the fact that reconciliation bills need only simple majorities and therefore get around the filibuster, but I don't think an actual funding bill, or a funding bill with lines rescinded, becomes law without the President signing it.

IF that is the case, then all this really means is the GOP by themselves can put a bill on the President's desk denying funding for amnesty but which he can refuse. In that case it is as meaningless in reality as sending him a Keystone Pipeline Bill just so Fat Mary can say she voted for it while knowing it will go nowhere.

So it always gets back to a shutdown standoff, seems to me, unless they can come up with a veto over ride number of votes.

GMax

President still has to sign it into law

Or veto it. No voting present.

Given all the caterwauling about obstruction and needing to get the things done, I am going to enjoy the hell out of putting Zero on the hot seat. A lying incompetent obstructionist!

donald

Hey ya'll, Jeff Goldstein's mom passed today.

Just so happens I met him and his wonderful wife Friday. We drank beer. Made fun of people, and discussed our mother's.

Turns out he's a really, really nice guy that really out punted his coverage if you know what I mean.

My heart breaks for the Goldstein's.

donald

Oh, and baseball. Lots and Lots of baseball, turns out it's really both of our's main interest in life!

rich@gmu

Something that is illegal is against the law, whereas an unlawful act merely contravenes the rules that apply in a particular context.

>>>I included "generally" because some states it is illegal, as in a violation of a specific statute. "driving without a license" seems to cover a suspended or revoked license too-actions proscribed by statute in every state I can think of.
