This is torn from yesterday's headlines:
Rap Video Under Fire For Encouraging Cop Killing
Posted: Dec 16, 2014 9:54 AM EST
Bronx, New York (My9NJ) -
The rap video "Hands Up!" featuring rappers Maino and Uncle Murda has gone viral, but it's the videos message that has many people up in arms. The video basically encourages people to kill police officers in retribution to what happened to Michael Brown and Eric Garner. The video portrays the recurring image of an actor dressed as a police officer with two guns pointed at his head, and some of the lyrics even encourage that type of behavior.
"For Mike Brown and Sean Bell, a cop gotta be killed," the song says.
...
The Police Benevolent Association, also known as the police union, said they're going to forward the video to local police who will open an investigation and possible bring charges against those responsible for promoting this video. Part of the statement they issued said:
“This video goes well beyond the parameters for protected speech and constitutes a serious threat to the lives of police officers.”
Don't be waiting for the NY Times coverage - two cops dead in their city following a "kill some cops" video filmed in their city? Nothing to see here...
The video is on YouTube, with 140,546 views as of early Sunday afternoon. It got some attention (and a Drudge link) down in Philadelphia with this story:
The executioner of the two NYPD officers is apparently a particularly unstable part of the Al Shaprton/Mayor deBlasio base, but for them to pretend that fringe doesn't exist is problematic. Not to say fatal.
The NY Post and NY Daily News also had some coverage, including this from the Post:
Taxpayers pay their salaries — but that hasn’t stopped two Bronx public defenders from appearing in a vile online rap video that urges black people to kill NYPD cops.
The sickening video, for a rap called “Hands Up,” shows black men holding guns to cops’ heads and features the disgusting lyric, “For Mike Brown and Sean Bell, a cop got to get killed.”
The video also shows a grieving mother walking into The Bronx Defenders office on 161st Street, where she is comforted by one of the lawyers.
The attorneys’ participation left cops furious. The Bronx Defenders organization has pulled in more than $40 million in city funding in the past two years.
“It’s reprehensible that the city and its taxpayers are essentially supporting a video that encourages the idea of shooting police officers,” said a police source.
We know that the big media such as ABC News will be all over this rap video, just as they were all over the Sarah Palin crosshairs debate following the shooting of Congresswoman GAbby Giffords. A reprise:
Sarah Palin's 'Crosshairs' Ad Dominates Gabrielle Giffords Debate
And the NY Times had multiple stories on the Palin connection. Imagine my surprise.
That was then, with a different narrative.
And do let's expect more coverage of the chanting at Al Sharpton's recent "Million Marchers" protest in NYC; from NBC News:
although it's not clear here:

narciso,
Cuba is the template for how progressives want to run this country. Already the insiders are getting gobs of money from green energy boondoggles, study groups, government contracts for diversity education and poor computer programs, and plum jobs for those connected (see: Ebola czar, who as far as I can tell got paid a six-figure income for doing exactly NOTHING).
The spend vacations in the Hampton's and Martha's Vineyard, ski in Aspen, and routinely globe trot to "conferences" in places like Switzerland and just lately, Chile. All of course, subsidized by the taxpayer.
Cuba is what we will become if Obama and his folks have their way. Very scary prospect, in my opinion.

"An inspection by Los Angeles Police Department investigators found about half of the estimated 80 cars in one South L.A. patrol division were missing antennas, which help capture what officers say in the field. The antennas in at least 10 more cars in nearby divisions had also been removed.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and other top officials learned of the problem last summer but chose not to investigate which officers were responsible. Rather, the officials issued warnings against continued meddling and put checks in place to account for antennas at the start and end of each patrol shift.
Members of the Police Commission, which oversees the department, were not briefed about the problem until months later. In interviews with The Times, some commissioners said they were alarmed by the officers' attempts to conceal what occurred in the field, as well as the failure of department officials to come forward when the problem first came to light."

Every one is some moody, atmospheric, insufferably serious black and white pseudo romance featuring severely gaunt chicks with some Aston Martin driving or horse gallumphing clod with a half buttoned shirt and five o clock shadow dropping her with his laser gaze from under his furrowed, chiseled brow. All accompanied by some obscure, downbeat, Euro-trash tune.
Somehow they always end up laying in the waves even if they started in a ski chalet and then it ends with a picture of a little bottle silhouetted against the ocean sunset and some hilariously stupid, pseudo-sexy name like Ravenous or Besotted.

I also think Ted Cruz and a lot of the Republicans that he agrees with, you know, would like to end all Government or like would like to go to the extreme of, you know, wrecking the Government, whereas you know Elizabeth Warren is the exact opposite of that.
Kurtz of course lets that total lie and smear of Constitutional champion Cruz go unchallenged.

Police release dashcam video of Texas judge stumbling through sobriety test month after court drops her DUI charges
Court of Appeals Judge Nora Longoria (Democrat) was allegedly begged for leniency during her DUI arrest in July. Last month, the District Attorney’s office said it lacked enough evidence to prosecute and another judge (Democrat) threw out the case. The DA said it never got the dashcam video, which showed Longoria (Democrat) stumble through her failed sobriety test.

From Ext's paste above:
Civil rights leaders Sunday condemned the ambush killings of two New York police officers and expressed fear that the backlash over the bloodshed could derail the ("What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now.") protest movement that has grown out of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
Seems to me Civil Rights Leaders ought to be high-fiving each other instead of pretending that something happened that they weren't begging would happen.

OT, re: lone wolves.
On the dog walk last night bumped into a friend and his dog way back on a nearby trail which in Winter I consider very safe.
He said that one week prior he was back a few miles on the trail and encountered a pack of Wolves. Said they didn't approach any closer than about 100 yards, but since then he has been carrying Bear Spray and a handgun.
Usually we carry that stuff in summertime prior to bear hibernation, and dispense with it once we're fairly sure they are down for the Winter, but this sure caused a rethink.
Oh well. Part of the fun of living up here:)

JimmyK,
I'm sure JOMer's will dig that up. I thought the PBA Union Head believed DiBlasio had failed to condemn it but will have to check.
Unsurprisingly, in this local NY Channel 4 Video story of the Protesters Chanting for "Dead Cops" we get this nugget:
The video was captured at about 4:30 p.m., a few hours before two police officers were hurt by a man who tried to throw a garbage can from the Brooklyn Bridge's pedestrian walkway onto the officers below. Police later arrested Baruch College adjunct professor Eric Linsker in the assault.
Police said that Linsker allegedly had recently purchased hammers and a black face mask in his bag.
Linsker was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, first-degree rioting, unlawful possession of marijuana and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Anybody surprised?
Not me.
Posted by: daddy | December 21, 2014 at 06:35 PM
Someone, and I'm sorry I forgot who, mentioned that the police unions have given a lot of money to Democrats. Even so, only Republicans are now in a position to gain votes by supporting the police. Between cops and their families, that's a lot of potential votes, even though many of the rank and file already voted R.
Democrats are now clearly anti-cop. They decided to give up this voting bloc and used every opportunity to smear them in order to stir up the blacks, so the backlash at the polls will have been well deserved.

police unions have given a lot of money to Democrats.
I don't know that about the NY PBA. I know they were upset at DeBlasio's opponent Lhota for some anti-union comments, but I don't think they endorsed either candidate. In many cities there is almost no chance a Republican can be elected mayor.

"since then he has been carrying Bear Spray and a handgun."
Daddy,
I'd suggest adding a body-cam. The future of effective predator control involves establishing an incontrovertible record prior to proper disposal of predators. We'll be seeing proof of the effectiveness as we monitor the rising number of predators disposed of with accompanying "good shoot" reports corresponding to quicker police response to obvious threats.
We'll have to wait a bit due to police withdrawal from the Plantations, leaving the tribes to police themselves with Blood and Crip thugs until the Plantation dwellers beg the police to come back.
It won't take all that long.

Extraneus,
I am wondering if two things are going on here.
1. Inflamed rhetoric about killing cops.
2. Terrorist attacks on cops, directed by someone like Isis, with the rhetoric used as cover.
The reason I wonder this is that the shooter in New York apparently frequented a radical mosque.
