"I was talking about LAPD."

Weak response with...

"Well, there is clearly a policy wrt officers disabling the cam, or removing the antennae, so they have that going for them."

Even weaker response...

"That's the details they are talking about."

Words Matter. Details Matter. No Policy Crafted, No Policy Approved, No Policy in Place.

Miss Marple

Cuba is the template for how progressives want to run this country. Already the insiders are getting gobs of money from green energy boondoggles, study groups, government contracts for diversity education and poor computer programs, and plum jobs for those connected (see: Ebola czar, who as far as I can tell got paid a six-figure income for doing exactly NOTHING).

The spend vacations in the Hampton's and Martha's Vineyard, ski in Aspen, and routinely globe trot to "conferences" in places like Switzerland and just lately, Chile. All of course, subsidized by the taxpayer.

Cuba is what we will become if Obama and his folks have their way. Very scary prospect, in my opinion.

Steph and Iggy:
i applaud your comments and agree wholeheartedly both yesterday and today.
I also marvel at how certain events are so memorable

FFS; Loosen the bone PD.

'It's an apocalypse!'

Seriously. You're going over the falls.

"They will have body cams with no funny business."

There are already dash cams for LAPD!

How many of these are not tampered with?

How many angels can you fit on a pinhead?

You were pressed to back up your claims, no different than you like to do to others.

Your response: Ad Hominem.

Ben may be talking about something else, PD.

" routinely globe trot to "conferences" in places like Switzerland and just lately, Chile. All of course, subsidized by the taxpayer."

"According to the auditor’s report, the first-class flights included:

* $8,566 round-trip from Omaha to Tanzania in June 2014

* $8,355 round-trip from Omaha to Nigeria in January 2014

* $7,929 round-trip from Omaha to India in September 2014

* $6,267 round-trip from Omaha to India in September 2014

* $6,017 round-trip from Switzerland to Hawaii in July 2014

* $5,870 round-trip from Omaha to Oman during November 2013"

"How many angels can you fit on a pinhead?"

Deflect away! Race or Religion or Ad Hominem, which card to play???

TK - no matter, he has a symphony of crickets to back him up.

PD bought me a ticket on a Carnival ride but didn't disclose it was a merry-go-round.

He may just be a redneck who commutes to Detroit.

Miss Marple

Ramos family news conference on Fox!!!

I would say they are not feeling conciliatory!

And Ramos as apparently Puerto Rican.

"PD bought me a ticket on a Carnival ride but didn't disclose it was a merry-go-round.

He may just be a redneck who commutes to Detroit."

Ad Hominem Card selected!

Miss Marple

Puerto Rican community leader asking DiBlasio to step up and support police.

No first downs for Dolts as yet. Still early in the 2nd QTR

It seemed appropriate. I do hope you walk upright.

Another bob

PD please ignore the asshole.

"An inspection by Los Angeles Police Department investigators found about half of the estimated 80 cars in one South L.A. patrol division were missing antennas, which help capture what officers say in the field. The antennas in at least 10 more cars in nearby divisions had also been removed.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and other top officials learned of the problem last summer but chose not to investigate which officers were responsible. Rather, the officials issued warnings against continued meddling and put checks in place to account for antennas at the start and end of each patrol shift.

Members of the Police Commission, which oversees the department, were not briefed about the problem until months later. In interviews with The Times, some commissioners said they were alarmed by the officers' attempts to conceal what occurred in the field, as well as the failure of department officials to come forward when the problem first came to light."

Policy, Policy, where o where did we put that Policy?

Miss Marple

The Puerto Rican community is in an uproar.

"It seemed appropriate. I do hope you walk upright."

Ad Hominem Card selected yet again!

etymology 'ad hominem'--- To a man.

Was I in error?

Ben's peeps.

Another bob: No Thank You!

OKay, I'm done. Someone email me when you guys stop letting the troll run the show.

Oh and Merry Christmas.

Nothing shows the mortal wounding of a poster's argument quite like an immediate ad hominem squeal and the words "fuck off."

"Was I in error?"

"When used inappropriately, it is a fallacy in which a claim or argument is dismissed on the basis of some irrelevant fact or supposition about the author or the person being criticized."

Miss Marple

DiBlasio needs the Henry II treatment after Thomas Becket's murder.

I say, barefoot in the snow, from Gracie mansion to St. Patrick's, wearing burlap (sackcloth not being available).

So I used it appropriately....

You'll be amazed at how good it feels when you stop banging your skull on concrete.

"He may just be a redneck who commutes to Detroit."

Gotta go watch them Red Wings down at the Joe. See you later tonight!

Miss Marple

Most of the people I deal with at the auction are rednecks. They are wonderful people who have been good friends. In fact. I prefer them to eltist snobs who cannot DO anything, but only talk.

Cowboys 28
Dolts Zilch

Still no Dolt first downs. Six minutes until 1/2 time.

Ben - you couldn't back what you were claiming and resorted to the easiest card in the deck. You are too much fun tonight! Too bad you could not just post "I was beaten like a rented mule". Tough Love for you tonight!

See ya later after the time at the Joe... Gotta go "commute" ya know!

Flo is repulsive and Fred is irritating but come on.
Viagra, Cialis and a plethora of others top them IMO, but to me the worst is an entire class;
Fragrance commercials.
Every one is some moody, atmospheric, insufferably serious black and white pseudo romance featuring severely gaunt chicks with some Aston Martin driving or horse gallumphing clod with a half buttoned shirt and five o clock shadow dropping her with his laser gaze from under his furrowed, chiseled brow. All accompanied by some obscure, downbeat, Euro-trash tune.
Somehow they always end up laying in the waves even if they started in a ski chalet and then it ends with a picture of a little bottle silhouetted against the ocean sunset and some hilariously stupid, pseudo-sexy name like Ravenous or Besotted.

Don't go angry PD.

Joe Trippi on Kurtz's FOX Show just said this verbatim

I also think Ted Cruz and a lot of the Republicans that he agrees with, you know, would like to end all Government or like would like to go to the extreme of, you know, wrecking the Government, whereas you know Elizabeth Warren is the exact opposite of that.

Kurtz of course lets that total lie and smear of Constitutional champion Cruz go unchallenged.

The segment was on the topic of "Media Bias."

True enough, Iggy, but the smarmy guy in the white Speedo-----not that there's anything wrong with it.

And I am cynical enough to wonder if the Times will publish stories critical of the records of these 2 murdered Policemen, before they publish stories about the topic of TM's post:

Don't be waiting for the NY Times coverage - two cops dead in their city following a "kill some cops" video filmed in their city? Nothing to see here...

Too cynical?

There are three reactions from Ben when he runs out of end zone in which to move the goalposts and loses an argument;
1. He insults you or your motives.
2. He declares victory.
3. He leaves.

Still waiting for a test case of his reaction when he wins one.

You could be waiting till eternity for that to happen. Better to bet on Allen hanging onto a Luck pass...

Miss Marple

Nothing is too cynical for me.

Maybe the NYT won't do it, but I would bet cash money we will see it from Sally Kohn and the other lefties.

PD; for your eyes only...

Wait...Fred Thompson in a white Speedo?
Where's the FCC?

"Still waiting for a test case of his reaction when he wins one."

Iggy; I never thought of you as a sore loser.

And you never will have to Ben. :)

And it looks like Fred has some coins in the back.

Meanwhile, Barry declares the Sony hack to have definitely been a North Korean operation and then downgrades theft, threatened terrorist acts, intimidation, blackmail, etc to "cybervandalism".

If it's just a misdemeanor prank then no one can fault him for doing nothing, can they?

Luck throws a pick into the end zone and comes up with a goose egg for the half. OOPS

OKay, I'm done.

Can't say I blame Jane. Not sure which is more annoying, all the back and forth when I'm on Firefox with the narcisolator, or on my iPhone when I see all the posts. Another vote for DNFTT.

Police release dashcam video of Texas judge stumbling through sobriety test month after court drops her DUI charges

Court of Appeals Judge Nora Longoria (Democrat) was allegedly begged for leniency during her DUI arrest in July. Last month, the District Attorney’s office said it lacked enough evidence to prosecute and another judge (Democrat) threw out the case. The DA said it never got the dashcam video, which showed Longoria (Democrat) stumble through her failed sobriety test.

Yes. The back-and-forth seemed unnecessary from my standpoint.

What was PD saying? 'I've got to find some syntax or typo to undermine what Ben is saying' Obsess much?

Killings of 2 New York officers trigger backlash

Uh, well, more like the false claim of fear of a backlash. Kinda like the Muzzies do after they take out a few innocents.

NEW YORK (AP) — Civil rights leaders Sunday condemned the ambush killings of two New York police officers and expressed fear that the backlash over the bloodshed could derail the protest movement that has grown out of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.

In the raw hours following the killing of the officers, police union officials and politicians accused those who have protested the deaths of Garner and Brown of fanning anti-police fervor. Patrick Lynch, president of the Patrolman's Benevolent Association in New York, said there was "blood on the hands" of demonstrators and elected officials who have criticized police tactics.

The Garner and Brown families issued statements repudiating the officers' killings, while civil rights leaders took to the airwaves to try to put some distance between the movement and the crime.

"To link the criminal insanity of a lone gunman to the peaceful protests and aspirations of many people across the country, including the attorney general, the mayor and even the president, is simply not fair," NAACP President Cornell William Brooks said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

I'd like to see a real backlash.

Prosecutorial discretion, daddy.

Luck picked on the first drive of 2nd half, Cowboy ball on the 19 yard line of Dolts...

Luck a bit Un today...

Frankly Sharpton et al are dong the right thing. Such incidents do hurt the progress toward 'equal under the Law'

But the Hate-Baters will have none of it.

In the wake of the ambush, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani lashed out at New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. Speaking on Fox News, Giuliani said:

"We've had four months of propaganda starting with the president that everybody should hate the police."

Fuck you asshole.

So heartbreaking for a thirteen year old boy to lose his father. Such an important time. Maybe all the 13 year olds with LEO fathers should have "the talk" with dad on making sure he doesn't get lit up by #BlackLivesMatter assassins.

Miss Marple

I am interested in the guy caught mouthing the NYPD cop killer's words, and approving them.

This is a guy from Ferguson who is white and met with the DOJ.

One wonders if they are all acting according to orders.

I sure miss Guiliani and Bernie Kerrick.

From Ext's paste above:

Civil rights leaders Sunday condemned the ambush killings of two New York police officers and expressed fear that the backlash over the bloodshed could derail the ("What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now.") protest movement that has grown out of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.

Seems to me Civil Rights Leaders ought to be high-fiving each other instead of pretending that something happened that they weren't begging would happen.

Miss Marple

"Who will rid me of this troublesome priest?"

That's where they are. They did all the talking, but they don't want to take the blame.

Cowboys 35

Dolts nothing

Were there any so-called civil rights leaders condemning the "Dead cops" chants when they happened?

OT, re: lone wolves.

On the dog walk last night bumped into a friend and his dog way back on a nearby trail which in Winter I consider very safe.

He said that one week prior he was back a few miles on the trail and encountered a pack of Wolves. Said they didn't approach any closer than about 100 yards, but since then he has been carrying Bear Spray and a handgun.

Usually we carry that stuff in summertime prior to bear hibernation, and dispense with it once we're fairly sure they are down for the Winter, but this sure caused a rethink.

Oh well. Part of the fun of living up here:)

I'm sure they're high-fiving, daddy. It's not as if they weren't hoping for this.

Like a great man, they're probably scratching their noses with their middle fingers while saying how sorry they are that these lone wolves are out there making trouble.

Luck benched...

encountered a pack of Wolves

Just a bunch of lone wolves that happened to be in the same place, I'm sure.

A handgun! Is that the first time you've mentioned such a defense from bears, wolves or pissed off moose?

I'd be carrying an AR-15 if I did what you do. Where I come from, even a cute fuzzy deer can kick your ass if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Hasselbeck promptly fumbles. You have to hand it to the Dolts for consistency today...

Were there any so-called civil rights leaders condemning the "Dead cops" chants when they happened?

I'm sure JOMer's will dig that up. I thought the PBA Union Head believed DiBlasio had failed to condemn it but will have to check.

Unsurprisingly, in this local NY Channel 4 Video story of the Protesters Chanting for "Dead Cops" we get this nugget:

The video was captured at about 4:30 p.m., a few hours before two police officers were hurt by a man who tried to throw a garbage can from the Brooklyn Bridge's pedestrian walkway onto the officers below. Police later arrested Baruch College adjunct professor Eric Linsker in the assault.

Police said that Linsker allegedly had recently purchased hammers and a black face mask in his bag.
Linsker was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, first-degree rioting, unlawful possession of marijuana and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Anybody surprised?

Not me.

Someone, and I'm sorry I forgot who, mentioned that the police unions have given a lot of money to Democrats. Even so, only Republicans are now in a position to gain votes by supporting the police. Between cops and their families, that's a lot of potential votes, even though many of the rank and file already voted R.

Democrats are now clearly anti-cop. They decided to give up this voting bloc and used every opportunity to smear them in order to stir up the blacks, so the backlash at the polls will have been well deserved.

Yeah I am surprised. Only an adjunct, heck he should get tenure, He could teach Anarchy classes to naive social science majors...

Miss Marple

daddy, Me, either.

I am to the point I want state universities investigated. IU employs a LOT of nut cases at Bloomington and Indianapolis. MY taaax money pays their salaries, and I don't like it.

police unions have given a lot of money to Democrats.

I don't know that about the NY PBA. I know they were upset at DeBlasio's opponent Lhota for some anti-union comments, but I don't think they endorsed either candidate. In many cities there is almost no chance a Republican can be elected mayor.

"since then he has been carrying Bear Spray and a handgun."

I'd suggest adding a body-cam. The future of effective predator control involves establishing an incontrovertible record prior to proper disposal of predators. We'll be seeing proof of the effectiveness as we monitor the rising number of predators disposed of with accompanying "good shoot" reports corresponding to quicker police response to obvious threats.

We'll have to wait a bit due to police withdrawal from the Plantations, leaving the tribes to police themselves with Blood and Crip thugs until the Plantation dwellers beg the police to come back.

It won't take all that long.

And another Touchdown for America's Team. Dolts still scoreless...

Off with the wolves, errr dogs, errr mooses. Whatever.

I'd suggest adding a body-cam.

To anyone with a body-man (although I've only ever heard of one such person): Please turn off your body-cam! That's the last thing we want to see.

Captain Hate

only Republicans are now in a position to gain votes by supporting the police.

After that kick in the teeth to everybody who voted for them in November with the CRomnibus, expecting the GOPe to act intelligently is a bit much.

Major embarrassments for King Roger in the Giants/Rams games as the zebras have lost control. Odell Beckham Jr and the Rams defenders had been jawing at each other all game until this happened: http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2014/12/watch_excessive_late_hits_to_odell_beckham_jr_spark_giants_st_louis_rams_brawl.html#incart_story_package

Will Dems who blamed Palin for Giffords attack refuse a ‘conversation’ about NYC shootings?

While it is appropriate to question what role rhetoric played in this shooting, it is probably not a course in which conservative should become overly invested. In the wake of the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), the left and the press engaged in frenzied speculation about how the tea party had likely inspired the attack.

They were wrong and reckless, and hindsight demonstrates how clearly those accusations were founded only in the left’s political distaste for the tea party. Similarly, conservatives’ dislike for liberal elected officials may end up coloring the dissection of their unhelpful rhetoric.

Just as there was in the wake of the frustrating grand jury decision in the Garner case, there is an opportunity in this horrible period to engage in a clarifying dialogue. Let’s hope the least helpful voices among us take the next few days off while responsible actors engage in it.

Noah Rothman at HotAir. Wimp.

Major come back started. Colts actually find the end zone. 42 to 7. Five minutes left and Cowboys have the ball. Who wants the Colts in this bet?

Eric in Boise

I'd suggest adding a body-cam.

Better than that kid a couple of weeks ago with a regular camera. He surprised a black bear while he was hiking and snapped a picture of it coming toward him. It was the last thing he ever did.

Miss Marple

I am wondering if two things are going on here.

1. Inflamed rhetoric about killing cops.
2. Terrorist attacks on cops, directed by someone like Isis, with the rhetoric used as cover.

The reason I wonder this is that the shooter in New York apparently frequented a radical mosque.

Buford Gooch

I want a pool on Ben's age. I'm going with 14.

Eric in Boise

Maybe Rothman and Gabe Malor need a cage match. They could battle it out by throwing mush at each other.

"Two squishes enter, one squish leaves."

Ben emotional age? Cuz he has managed to run off two wives, and none of his grown children will speak to him. He is 60 + and likely being forced out at a third rate backwater college.

Strawman Cometh

Is Noah auditioning for the Brooks NYT chair?

Another lone wolf. This time an attack inside the precinct in Harlem, officer got a broken arm. More peaceful protesting.

Miss Marple

O/T: ABC is running "The Sound of Music." They are posting the words on the screen so you can sing along! LOL!

it must be the GOPe talking point "to not go there".

Cowboys win the NFC East. Manhandle Colts. 11 - 4. Romo 90% completion rate at what was thought to be a decent defense...

Time for a beer summit? Maybe a phone call to the families? Attend the funerals? Give a speech on how they could have been his sons?

Naaah...not this president.

A fourteen year-old kicking your ass?

Lol. I wouldn't want that getting out.

Danube on iPad

"derail the protest movement that has grown out of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner."

Gosh, what a tragedy that would be. After all, the protest movement has been so constructive and helpful to the nation.

"there is an opportunity in this horrible period to engage in a clarifying dialogue"

Not a chance. Those being incited have an average IQ <80. I'm sure trying to interpret the meaning of "clarifying dialogue" into rap gibberish might be possible but it would be an exercise in futility. Let the Plantation thugs clarify the error.
