We condemn and pushback against the oppressive regulatory state which attempts to prevent individual people from interacting with other free individuals in commercial and social enterprise.

Some called them property owners, others called them feudal lords. And the King ran a minimalist state was there just to provide protection for the whole racket.

No epa, no obummercare, etc., etc.,

Feudalism: More Than Ever

@10:28-- I agree, the sock puppet isn't Ben, it's a pathetic little Soros dweeb. Pitiful.

Iggy

--Prove it.--

I don't have to. Whether we choose to or not we all must accept Pascal's wager and then wait.
You have apparently taken that side of the bet which can avail nothing and lose everything. I have chosen the opposite.
We'll compare notes someday...perhaps across an unbridgeable gulf.

narciso

certainly a Kramerica intern, what is curious about this pope is how unusual it is for him to cite scripture,

NKvirusedand back

Nope again. Progism is feudalism, just different lords of the land. Markets are people, liberty is their currency. This POS drone thinks he'll get an extra ration of chocolate by doing the Prog lords bidding. Pitiful.

OL,

I saw the WSJ link on the TFR. I'm going to have to dig into the statistics to see how much of the reduction in births to unmarried women is due to the success of the bounties paid by progressives in the Black Genocide Project. It would be interesting to tie the total of the Black Baby Bounty to the blackrabblematters nonsense so the public could have a clear understanding of exactly how much a black is worth to a progressive.

TK you really should focus on your own obsessions...

... I certainly don't care either way.

I read this morning that Britain is banning Orwell's Animal Farm because it mentions pigs.

So it is in fact true that some pigs are more equal than others, Abdullah.....

NKvirusedand back

@10:33, you've noticed that narc. The Jesuits, especially the SA Jesuits, use the Gospel 'liberally', as in only when it suits their immediate political objective. I wondered what an SOJ Pope would do vis a vis JPII's crackdown on the Society's liberal use of Gospel; now we know.

I agree with leaving the barrel protesters out in the cold. Let them pee their pants in 24 degree weather.

Put a 12' high fence around them.

Pascal's wager and then wait.
You have apparently taken that side of the bet which can avail nothing and lose everything. I have chosen the opposite.

Pascal incorrectly based his probabilities on atheism vs Christianity.

But it's not a binary choice, there are hundreds of Gods to choose from; the odds are against you.

To Allah, Krishna, etc., you are still an infidel.

NKvirusedand back

@10:38-- ya see, now you are using your unique way of seeing the world in a productive manner! ;)

narciso

Orwell is just screaming now, which is rare for an Etonian

Vladimir Ilyich Reagan

Markets are people, liberty is their currency.

Capitalists bought and sold slaves on markets.

narciso

I mean Matthew 5:10 might be of relevance,

As with the Donohue kerfuffle, I don't have a problem with the credible religious or moral leaders calling for treating religion with respect, in general, but with qualifications: First, the timing is not so great, as it ends up inevitably looking like blaming the victims. Second, distinctions should be made between a religion and its more insane practitioners, as well as their co-religionists who tolerate them. Of course I do have a problem with idiots with no credibility like Sally Kohn doing so selectively, only for Islam and not for other religions.

jimmyk

If they are blocking traffic, I don't see how leaving them out there is the right thing to do. Easy for those of us not trying to get to work.

Vladimir Ilyich Reagan

co-religionists who tolerate them

Sort of like the strain of white racist hustlers in the republican party who are defended by the rank and file.

Dave Agema, Michigan’s RNC Committeeman, has a well-documented history of making inflammatory statements…. In a recent Facebook post, Agema re-published an essay from American Renaissance, a white-supremacist newsletter. The article, which Agema said he found “very enlightening,” argued that “blacks are different by almost any measure to all other people. They cannot reason as well. They cannot communicate as well. They cannot control their impulses as well. They are a threat to all who cross their paths, black and non-black alike.”

Bill Clinton helped sink his wife's chances for an endorsement from Ted Kennedy by belittling Barack Obama as nothing but a race-based candidate.

"A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee," the former president told the liberal lion from Massachusetts, according to the gossipy new campaign book, "Game Change."

The book says Kennedy was deeply offended and recounted the conversation to friends with fury.

After Kennedy sided with Obama, Clinton reportedly griped, "the only reason you are endorsing him is because he's black. Let's just be clear."

Iggy

--But it's not a binary choice...--

It is for you as you seem an atheist. Given that, you are still on the unwinnable side of the equation.
In any event, using your argument, the odds are against every person so the question remains who is right in the end. I'll take my chances on not worshiping rocks, cows and nothingness.
If I am I'll be fine and you won't.
If I'm wrong I'll be equally as unfine as you.

Of course they are there to help their customers. If they don't, they go out of business.

There are approx. 200 countries in the world.

If any country that allows free travel offends enough of their citizens, that country will vanish due to emigration.

So political systems are self correcting in precisely the same way that libertarians tell us that the unregulated market is self correcting.

Egypt’s government banned the showing of the movie “Exodus: Gods and Kings” saying the movie presents inaccurate historical facts. They had to do it to lure young people into the theater. It’s not true that Moses came down from Mt. Sinai with the Nine Commandments and the Kennedy Family Waiver.

Iggy

Those countries most likely to offend their citizens are precisely those least likely to allow free travel.

The vast majority of those, not surprisingly, feature some variant of socialism and virtually none a free market.

Hopeless, even for a troll.

There is much misunderstanding out there. Old Prof adds to it.

Ooh, wonderful, all. I started to list but too many of you have expressed a marvelous skeptical view of the whole climate deal.
