The future is coming at us like a freight train:
At a recent Seahawks football game in Seattle, Shy Sadis, 41, took a drag on a slim vapor pen that looked like a jet black Marlboro. The tip glowed red as he inhaled.
But the pen contained no nicotine. Instead, it held 250 milligrams of cannabis oil loaded with THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
“Nobody noticed,” said Mr. Sadis, who owns several marijuana dispensaries in Washington State. “You pull it out of your pocket, take a hit like a cigarette, put it back, and you’re done. It’s so discreet.”
The device, called a JuJu Joint, heralds a union that seems all but inevitable: marijuana and the e-cigarette, together at last in an e-joint. For years, people have been stuffing marijuana in various forms into portable vaporizers and into the cartridges of e-cigarettes. But the JuJu Joint is disposable, requires no charging of batteries or loading of cartridges, and comes filled with 150 hits. You take it out of the package and put it to your lips — that’s it. There is no smoke and no smell.
Sure, its illegal in most states (now!), but good luck enforcing laws against it.
Amen to Captain's 8:08.
The Black Lives Matter people have chained themselves to barrels blocking all lanes of traffic on I-93.
More leftist "activists" who are allowed to break the law. LAWLESS.
Vandalizing property is okay if you are a leftist. Blocking roads is okay if you are a leftist.
Citizens of other countries are allowed to break the law.
But YOU must obey the law...& the millions of rules & regulations that leftists are writing for you.

MissM and Ben mention the Pope's commentary on respectful self-censorship regarding sincere faith. Ross Douthat commented on that as well. His personal value system is akin to mine, but he calls out the lying cowardly Left (like his employer) who mock Christians at every turn, then criticize Christian pushback, but now, they suddenly discover the need for respectful self-censored speech when it come to Islam. Basically, Douthat is calling out Pinch's plantation operator Baquet who's done exactly that this past week. I hope Pinch and Baquet both gagged on the croissant and cafe this morning. http://mobile.nytimes.com/blogs/douthat/2015/01/14/blasphemy-revisited-i/

Looking at the video and following it on Twitter it seems that they cemented their arms inside these barrels and then positioned themselves so that all lanes of traffic were closed and vehicles couldn't pass.
I hope that there are no ambulances, women in labor, or other medical emergencies caught in that traffic jam due to this juvenile and destructive behavior.
I also think they should be billed for the emergency crews who are having to cut them out of the barrels.

Why don't drivers run over the vandals on I-93? Same reason I don't spit on the vandal Lefties blocking the main concourse of Grand Central Terminal every night (I really want to BTW)-- we're too civilized. Why should we lower ourselves to the Lefty vandal level, rhetorical question, we shouldn't. Not gratuitously vandalizing public space because we don't like a social condition is a mark of civilized restraint. That said, the Soros vandals get away with this crap mostly in Blue Hells (GCT, I-93, Oakland, Portland etc) where the political class are just older and fatter versions of the vandals.

My point is AGW isn't supported by data in the first place, there's nothing to falsify. Some phenomenon will be observed, and with no evidence to support it, be attributed to 'global warming'. It then becomes a game of 'prove us wrong' (by the AGW crowd). That's standing the sci process in it's head.

@9:12-- that is indeed the best way to deal with the Soros vandals. Inconvenient for those who have to detour, but it's the best response... until the Soros vandals expand the vandalism and start materially affecting movement of people... then water canon and nightsticks and mass arrests. They quickly scurry away at that point, and it takes several years for the next batch of losers to take up some bogus 'cause' on a pretext.
Posted by: NKvirusedand back | January 15, 2015 at 09:21 AM
NK,
His statement was very confusing, in that first he said that people should be respectful and violence isn't justified, THEN he said, if someone says a bad word about my mother, he will receive a punch.
That is what upsets me. He seems to somehow keep talking after his point is made and then confuses the issue.

I'm just saying the original "falsify" comment was a reference to the habit of AGW nuts to take every bit of data (cold weather, storms, lack of storms, volatility, earthquakes, eclipses, meteorites) as confirmation. Aside from the validity of the mechanism, it's the unwillingness of the AGW crowd to put the theory to a test that shows their unseriousness. Even a loon like Paul Ehrlich was willing to make a falsifiable prediction.

Posted by: Miss Maple | January 15, 2015 at 09:45 AM
AGW frauds: I agree with Jimmy, the Sci Method is fundementally observation, hypothesis, test, disproven/not disproven. The fraud committed by AGWers is not forming their CO2 hypotheis, instead it is to to 'test' that hypothesis with statistical models rather than databased testing, so the result will always be that their hypothesis cannot be disproven or falsified. That's the fraud of AGW 'models'. As we've seen from satellite and even ground temp databases, there has been no statistically relevant 'warming' since the '98 super el nino. That real data has invalidated both the catastrophic AGW hypotheis and the 'testing' models.

BTW, SPJ, you do realize that the theories and facts regarding the mechanisms of CO2, methane and other atmospheric gases and pollutants are distinct and separate from the theory of AGW, especially catastrophic AGW, right?
The climate is not a test tube. The idea the science is anywhere near a decent understanding of the almost immeasurably complex interaction between the atmosphere, the oceans, the biosphere, the sun and the cosmos is belied, as the science grows longer in the tooth, by the increasing distance between observation and theory both as predictor and as models.
