Libya is in chaos following the 2011 ouster of Qadaffi, an effort which Hillary promoted eagerly although the US led from behind. So how in the world does Hillarity! 2016 manage to shift responsibility for that onto Bush?
Or maybe Dour John will bail her out with a UN deal, the same way our diplos have pacified Syria, because we all know ISIS is easy to talk to. I think hope is Hillarity!'s plan right now.

Dreams p. 31 (in my copy)
"When my mother sat me down one day to tell me that Lolo had proposed and wanted us to move with him to a faraway place, I wasn't surprised and expressed no objections. I did ask her if she loved him - I had been around long enough to know such things were important. My mother's chin trembled, as it still does when she's fighting back tears, and she pulled me into a long hug that made me feel very brave, although I wasn't sure why."
Supposedly this was when Obama was 5 or 6.

"he attended a Catholic school in Indonesia and GOe are fine with that."
Speaking only for myself, I'm neither fine with it or not fine with it. I simply believe it is a fact, and a trivially unimportant one at that.
It has been my experience--some of it a bit unpleasant--that when you want to level a charge of some kind against someone you loathe, it is especially important to get the facts straight, otherwise you discredit yourself. Others seem to feel almost the reverse: the more you loathe the man, the more reckless you can be.
This is a topic that can easily be examined with Google. Look into it for yourself, and draw your own conclusions. I see no point in regurgitating it here any further.

It is as I said a few days ago; he isn't a full-fledged Muslim, but he aspires to be and has adopted many of their attitudes and is overly sympathetic to them.
In fact, the guy is a huge ball of mommy and daddy issues, to-wit:
1. I think he really liked Soetero, and when the mother got in an argument with him because he was working with petroleum businesses, Obama internalized that as "Oil Companies are evil."
2. I think he was fairly happy in Indonesia, so abruptly being sent back to the States gave him a huge and uninformed nostalgia for Islam.
3.His constant disruption in his childhood has made him unable to form close friendships (note how many friends he has thrown under the bus) and he has no sense of loyalty.
4. Due to his resentment of his mother and her abandonment of him, he has real issues with women.
5. He has built up a romantic figure of his father, who he never knew, and is attempting to please his idea of his father, hence the hatred OF Britain (colonial) and fascination with Marxism.
All of this is pretty much arm-chair pschoanalysis, but his book is full of veiled hints of this type of thinking.
An example of this in another president would be George Bush's love of Midland Texas, which he left to go to Andover when he was in grade school. I always thought the cook-outs and T-ball events at the White House were an effort to give American kids what he felt was wonderful about his childhood. Bush's childhood nostalgia wasn't particularly harmful, though. Obama's is flat-out dangerous.
Furthrmore, I would bet cash money the Muslim Brotherhood has figured this out and presents everything to him in phrases guaranteed to sucker him into their preferred foreign policy.
Finally, I know this is all speculation, but I think it makes sense.
Posted by: Miss Marple | February 21, 2015 at 08:13 PM
I'm with Dot and Eric, I don't really give a shit. Whatever Obama is, he certainly is not religious. I assume he's sympathetic to Islam because given his limited experience he is absolutely sure he is an expert, and because ValJar tells him to be.
At this point I think he's simply opting for revenge on republicans, Jews, Christians and white people, in that order.

Here is the WaPo casting Gov. Walker's comments in the worst possible light when he a. explained to the reporter, in simple English, what he meant and b. had his press spokesperson explain in simple English to the WaPo what he meant.
He is a quote from the Governor: “To me, this is a classic example of why people hate Washington and, increasingly, they dislike the press,” he said. “The things they care about don’t even remotely come close to what you’re asking about.”

TK, on the externalities, Obama has said he's a Christian by choice, and he came to that posture even though his upbringing wasn't particularly religious. Whether he said that for show and internally and to really intimate friends he professes Islam is tough to know. My guess is that whatever he says to himself he is, his religious center of gravity is liberation theology. Whether it's a form of Muslim or Christian liberation theology, it's downright dangerous to the country to have a true believing liberation theologist in the White House, whether or not he thinks he's a Christian or Muslim.

So, I will go with your opinion.

Posted by: Miss Marple | February 21, 2015 at 09:14 PM
"People who don't care about the topic care enough to defend against the topic."
I emphatically do not care about the topic, but am just as emphatically resolute in attempting to discredit what I believe to be loony, irrelevant and unsubstantiated claims about the topic.
To be more specific: I don't give a shit where he went to grade school, but think it is dumb to make false claims about it. I don't give a shit about his religion, but think it is dumb to speculate about it. I don't give a shit about his place of birth, but think it is dumb to make stupid claims about the "forgery" of his birth certificate. I don't give a shit about the "two-parent" citizenship theory, but think it is dumb to raise the issue endlessly.
The man has been president for six years, mand has harmed the country and its civilzation immeasurably. That is a matter for very serious discussion. The loony issues I mentioned above are not. I care enough about the distractions they interpose to expose them for what they are.
By the way, Google is simply a search engine. It can lead you to all sorts of commentary, including commentary at World Net Daily, the Birther Report and Leo Gonofrio. Read all the commentary you want, and decide what weight you will give to each.

Danube,
Why should I believe your opinion more than Jack's, who lived in Indonesia? Why should I believe you more than my friends, who knew Muslims in school?
There are a lot of people in this country, whether through confusion, personal experience, or looking at his actions, who believe Obama is a Muslim.
Explain to me why the only prayers at his "anti-violent extremism" seminar were Muslim prayers. Explain to me why he cotinually attacks Christians and Jews, but always supports Muslims.
Yes, it is a side issue, but calling people who are suspicious "loony" doesn't advance the discussion.

DoT - I understand where you're coming from, and agree that claims one is unable to substantiate must be made with care to avoid losing credibility on other claims.
But I think the reason these particular claims are not lightly to be ignored is because of their capacity to wake the population up to the seriousness of the situation in ways that, say, the admin's flouting of the constitution just don't, except for policy-wonks like us here.
People are looking for a game-changer because the odds are great and the opposition formidable.

IMO Pfleger has/had friends in high places and I don't mean religious high places. I'm guessing it's the Chicago Way. He apologized for *something* and that was good enough. His activism included programs not found in the OT or NT: mainly shooting baskets instead of guns which the good father hates. I have not read about any converts he has made.
It pleased me that Pope Benedict went after the liberation theology crowd and gave Küng a chance to devote himself to his "Beyond Religion" institute (actual name Foundation for a Global Ethic).

China had the problem. It was Mao who said it takes 100 Chinese peasants to support one "intellectual." Yeah. He killed lots of them.
But Mao UNIFIED CHINA! It had never been done. Instead, China was controlled by about 5 "leading" families. The war lords had divvied up the country between themselves. (And, yes, Mao was a war lord, too.)
During WW2, and China was a backwater, we were shipping supplies into China (under General Chennault). The supplies took an interesting route. Because they were off-loaded into Iran. Which had a single railroad track (so trains on it could go either way). And, then? Thru Burma? By the time the supplies reached China ... American soldiers had to ride with the convoys. Because the war lords stole everything in sight!
It was these supplies that gave Mao the opportunity to pull the rug out from under the 4 other war lords.
Mao had no intention of building universities! He got the mass of the people behind him, no question.
Yeah, Nixon went to China. But nobody expected China to reach beyond anything but rural peasantry. They had no copper wiring dug all around, which would have given them telephones. And, communications.
Alas, along came satellites. None of the "old fashioned stuff" was even needed.
Now, will cell technology you can enter China at one end, and use the same phone throughout the country! (You can't do that in India!) In other places local areas belong to the local thieves.
Nixon didn't change China. Technology did! (And, now?) Well, China has universities.

4. Barack Obama is a Muslim.

zero chance it even comes up for a vote, and if it were, 0 would vote for it. Kerry is just shaking the donor tree and making some contributors happy.

"Obama would escape impeachment despite God informing congress that he is ineligible for Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces."
He would escape removal from office unless 67 Senators voted for that outcome. In other words, he would most certainly escape. I would go through the rationales that the Dems would invoke for declining to convict, but I think it is more fun to leave the delusions undisturbed.
However, it is startling to discover that the word of God is believed by some to be more persuasive than the word of the Birther Report. Who knew?

Obama is an emotionally STUNTED 6 year old. He is neither Christian nor Muzzlim, but, he chooses to DEFEND muzz filth, because he is and has always been a STUNTED MISFIT. He loves nothing but himself, and probably his 2 daughters. This SHIT isn't difficult to understand. Obama found his stride in being Marxist and a Black victim. He learned how to WORK THE SYSTEM and to MANIPULATE. He says so in the books AYERS penned for him. His need to reach out to his DRUNKEN LOSER, POLYGAMIST non-father beyond the grave is SAD SICK and TELLING. I've spent more quality time with Scott Walker, than Obama EVER SPENT with his MAKE-BELIEVE-DADDY. Obama has turned his ARRESTED EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT into nonsense. America embraced the loser and we have ourselves to blame for hugging his motherfucking monster.
