Here's the thing about all of this birth certificate/Muslim/Communist stuff:

The administration (and previously, the candidate) does stuff to ignite suspicion. I am sure a lot of people were mortified by their suspicions when he produced that semi-official piece of paper.

If he had it, why didn't he produce it long before then? The answer, of course, was to lure people into looking foolish, because whether or not it was authentic, the Gatekeepers were going to SAY it was because Legend.

Why has he spent money keeping his school records under wraps? Why is every single thing about him a secret?

Along with the Legend thing, the other part is that a whole lot of people in official Washington and the GOP do not want to be made to look like fools. They are pretty sure that if they started demanding a baptismal certificate, his passport records, or his school records they would be produced, presto-chango, and again they would look foolish.

And it may be that he DOES have all of those records and they are exemplary, and he is just waiting for the right minute to produce them. But then you have to ask yourself, what kind of person would waste all of this time and get the country all riled up for a gotcha moment? Not a mentally healthy one, that's for sure.

JiB, I've been noting the trend in the economy via nascar stands for several years and that is the most empty I have EVER seen Daytona.

ISTM the temperature of the economy is best measured by the health of nascar as it is the sport of those mostly occupying and living the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle. Let's call it the "redneck economy." If it isn't healthy...

Attendance at Disney World is way up, but I wouldn't ascribe it to a healthy US economy as much as a favorable exchange rate for foreigners.

As for his school records, he hasn't spent any money to keep them under wraps; there is a federal statute preventing the schools from releasing them without his permission. I very strongly suspect that he has withheld permission because those transcripts would expose a decidedly mediocre record.

Who has claimed he said it intentionally? Obviously it was a slip of the tongue. The only question is what it reveals, if anything. I've never asserted that he's a Muslim, just that he's an anti-American a**hole who will embrace, or at least empower, any ideology that helps to bring down America. That includes radical Islam, liberation theology, whatever it was that Jeremiah Wright's church espoused, socialism, communism, you name it. I bought it for nostalgia's sake; I had to diagram sentences in high school. The author learned to diagram in the sixth grade from Sister Bernadette at a Catholic school. Lucky girl.
The author also contributes that Gertrude Stein was a big fan of diagramming. Gertrude may have just eaten some of Alice B. Toklas's *special* brownies when she wrote:

Yes, but it's hard to tolerate the same quantity as Chinese mustard. Something in the consistency of the mustard ISTM. Like slathering Vicks vaporub on the back of your tongue and getting the vapors up the throat into your sinuses.

I've found that peppers tend to inflame but mustard tends to dilate. Capsaicin? Idk but it seems to be a factor in the long term relief.

rich--I add the chili powder at the time I brown the beef, which integrates it more. The original recipe called for a cup of chopped onions and I usually add at least 5. That's the secret because the onions cook down and just make a deliciousness in the red sauce.

I had to cook it in stages and then rest but I was determined to see if that would do the trick.

At some point I started serving it over some rice. Adds texture and moister than cornbread. I use cornbread with chicken white bean chili and my clam chowder that is really a clam/potato chowder.

I think that purposely illegitimizing the Constitution is far more harmful to "the fabric of the nation" than illegitimizing Barack Obama.
