Obama announces he will be going to the two-minute offense in negotiating with Iran, with no further extensions of talks on the table.
Since I have no confidence in Obama or Kerry I have no confidence in this.

Of course, he's not pushing for a deal deal, at least not the way normal people define the term. He's merely hoping that Iran will agree to agree to something that has yet to be determined. That's like a kid promising to be behave while not defining what it means to behave. In other words, Obama has nothing, will get nothing, and doesn't t want anyone to know he's got and getting nothing.

Has anything changed on this? Last I checked, Iran insisted it had a right to enrich uranium, and we argued they didn't . . . but then signed an interim agreement that allowed them to do it.
The only reason Iran needs an enrichment program is to build nukes. And at this point, there's probably no stopping them. Sanctions certainly won't. And since we can't stop 'em, shouldn't we get rid of the sanctions?
Don't you love smart diplomacy?

Back in January, I described Valerie Jarrett as "King Obama's "favorite".
I think that historical metaphor works quite well -- and I may get around, some time, to expanding it.
(As most of you know, favorites were almost universally despised, because it was thought that they came by their power illegitmately.)

Megyn Kelly: But we've had so few? Why are we having so few trials down in Gitmo? Almost all the guys who are down there are just being held without facing trail?
Judge Napolitano: It takes a lot longer in the Military System than it does in the Civilian System, and I've argued that more of these people should be tried here.
Is that true? My understanding was that the Military was way the heck faster Trial wise than the Civilian System. I can understand if the delay is because they do not have the ability to round up witnesses for evidence from the battlefield, but in general I thought the Military was able to convene Hearings and Courts of Inquiry and whatever the proper terms are very fast after the fact (i.e.) the Nuremberg trials were a series of 13 trials carried out in Nuremberg, Germany, between 1945 and 1949.
Anyone know if once again the Judge is simply bloviating about a subject which he does not know
much about?

I don't know if Barry called her "Angela" in her presence or not. It's disrespectful regardless, but especially if he addressed her directly. I know that the German pronunciation is with a hard 'g', but when someone has a name that's identical to an English name, to me it always seems a bit pretentious to pronounce it with a foreign accent. I'm pretty sure I remember Obama also referring to Sarkozy as "Nicolah" when most Americans simply pronounced it like the American name Nicholas.

I just heard this Brian Williams soundbite again about Katrina:
“I accidentally ingested some of the floodwater. I became very sick...
Just as a very basic question, how would an adult accidentally ingest flood water from Katrina? What's the mechanics of that?
I spend a lot of time in India and China and Malaysia and the P.I., 4 locations where I do not drink the local water. I can understand maybe getting sick from the water in those locations that they put into the airplane's water system, which feeds into our coffee making machine, or maybe getting sick from using the ice cubes in the cooler or in a soft drink I might have at the bar (Which BTW is why I drink beer on the road:)
But seriously, how would someone physically accomplish the task of getting flood water from the streets of New Orleans into your mouth, and then sucking it down? Here's my list of possibilities:
A) He dropped his Altoids container into the flood waters, but "the 5 second rule applied" so he retrieved them from the flood waters and ate 'em wet.
B) A disgruntled NBC Make-up Artist, seeking revenge for missing out on the Iraqi chopper ride, filled up William's Avian Water bottle with N'awlean's street sewage water as he was putting on William's make-up for the evenings "on scene" broadcast.
C) Williams tried to give 'mouth to mouth' resuscitation to a corpse floating by.
D) A dog who drank from the gutter licked Williams on his tongue.
E) Some elected Democrat Official (Ray Nagin perhaps) happened to have fallen on his ass into the Katrina floodwaters, and immediately afterwards Williams interviewed him, so that's how Brian Williams got flood water on his arse-kissing lips.
There may be other possibilities that I am missing, but since I am now aware of how extremely easy it must be for an adult multimillionaire Newsreader to ingest floodwaters in dangerous locations like Bourbon Street, you can imagine how worried I am about accidentally ingesting dangerous flood waters in locations like Bombay or Shenzhen or Batu Feringi or Olongapo.
If you have any suggestions for how Williams accidentally ingested some of the Katrina floodwater and became very sick.... please let me know what they are, as I have not been so frightened since I was hit with an RPG in a Chinook.

(The notion that Axelrod is an idealist, rather than a mixture of machine pol and leftist ideologue is so interesting that I am still thinking about it. It's weird, I kept thinking as I skimmed through the review, but might there be a little truth in it?)
The review doesn't address the question about Axelrod that interests me most: Did he use his connections to inspire the Chicago Tribune to help Obama in his campaign?

The only thing I find positive about Obama's 'no Existential Threat' comments today, are that they are made to order for Netanyahu to knock out of the Park when he addresses Congress.
It's become a big stink due to the Dem's reaction: ("we're too busy to attend the speech") so that when Bibi speaks he will get tons of Press and America will hear some straight talk, even if the MSM tries to ignore it. I pray that his speech is great, and unfortunately the chances are that ISIS and Islam will provide further examples of horrendous terror between now and then.

"See? Those folks in that Paris deli were shot at random. Those folks could have been anybody. Any folks at all. There was no particular reason for these violent, vicious zealots — “whatever ideology they’re operating off of,” in Obama’s words — to kill those particular folks.

Bush is not above criticism (and would be the first person to tell you that) but Williamson has forgotten where things stood in 2008-9. Would have been nice to see how things might have been better had leftist opposition not been of the scorched earth variety.
And he has a point re. the "fiscal incontinence", but that's hardly some grand insight.
He was on the money re. the current crop of leftists though. That last line was worth the wait.

Posted by: Miss Marple | February 10, 2015 at 07:58 AM
So according to the top two links on Instapundit right now, the odious Axelrod acknowledged that Zero's little speech at the National Prayer Breakfast was deliberately intended to be provocative (towards his own citizens, and towards Christians specifically); and increasing numbers of Dem members of Congress are planning to boycott Netanyhu's speech.
Why do the R's not have leadership who will call this out directly for what it is, in blunt language?
Will it take a freaking mushroom cloud over Tel Aviv - or Manhattan, or DC - before they wake up and realize that our survival is threatened, and that Obama, and most of the Dems, are actively on the side of those threatening it? Or would even that not be enough to convince them?

How do you like the book, Janet? I'm thinking of picking up a copy. (It's going for $0.01 at Amazon in very good condition.)
I haven't read it yet. It was like I found a treasure when I spotted that book! Hah!
