There's a whole lotta workplace violence going on these days.

something is rotten in Denmark

FOX reporting that Copenhagen cops just shot dead a man who opened fire on them.

daddy #BringBackOurSnow

FOX saying they do not yet know if the person just shot dead was tied in with the earlier shootings.

I suppose we will find out.

Here is the Day By Day Cartoon from November 2009 where our Porchlight got naked for Chris Muir:

I post this not for any prurient value of course, but just to catch up the new-bee's around here.

What is to be done?

At least in the case of Europe, my belief is that there is nothing that can be done, because they allowed too many Muslims in before they recognized the threat to their civilization. Demography is destiny, and they are DOOMED.

Ignatz

Please note I DID NOT post that 12:34 comment.

clarice

Is Europe to die on the cross of that stupid multiculturalism>

daddy #BringBackOurSnow

Demography is destiny, and they are DOOMED.

And unlike the totally disarmed standard European, the Muslims in Europe seem to have no problem getting their hands on firearms.

Ignatz

--Anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim sentiment is rising in Europe...--

Yes, I understand unwanted immigration was a fairly hot button issue in many portions of Europe in the late thirties and early forties as well, not to mention the occasional disturbance around synagogs and delis.

Denmark shootings: Copenhagen police say they killed 'person of interest' in shootout at train station

PDinDetroit

Stephanie - I hope you are getting better from the headaches. I went to a different headache clinic in Ann Arbor this week, where they changed all my meds around (hell on wheels right now with the switchover, out with the old and 5 new meds). The weather system does not help either, from 29.43 inHg to 30.20 inHg in the past 12 hours (29.92 inHg is Average Sea Level Pressure).

One of the new meds seems to stop the migraines in their tracks for me: Migranal Nasal Spray. Maybe something to discuss with your docs.

Again, hope you are doing well.

GUS

BELSEN WAS A GAS. Do libs ever learn?
NO.

jimmyk

I don't see how that's Porchlight @12:34. Why would she refer to herself in the 3rd person, Bob Dole-like?

GUS

Jimmy, I'm going with YES, THAT'S PORCH. It's just how I roll.

GUS

Ignatz, what a load of total bullshit. Anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim sentiment DID NOT EXIST until the LIBTARDS, soft HEADED LIBTARD FOOLS, invited their own CULTURES to be infested with Jihadi's and others bent on FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORMING, ....Scotland, England, Wales, Germany, France, Switz., Belgium, Denmark, Norway .....etc etc. FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORMING...... smell what I'm cooking???

GUS

Awesone Clarice!! I know Scott Walker. I've known him for 2 decades. He is honorable and a fine man. He should acknowledge EVOLUTION. "YES, it appears that libtards and Barack O'Momjeans, is proof. Mister O'Momjeans EVOLVED when it became POLITICALLY EXPEDIANT. He was AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE, until EVOLUTION.

daddy

Beautiful job, Clarice!

Many laughs, (The Questionator), and finished it smiling.

Since they obviously think it's so damn important, I would love it if we could make everyone on TV or who writes a column wear a scarlet "D" around their neck or byline, who is either a High School or a College Dropout.

Why not? If having that degree is so important, and not having one is such strong evidence of a character flaw or mental deficiency, then lets make the MSM elites live by the rules they demand Conservatives live by and publicly 'fess up by sporting a Scarlet "D."

Hopefully we will also get a lot more Questionator examples in todays JOM threads. Here's an example:

Spin Left---Dem Candidate: Why do you think your Republican opponent wants to starve children?

Spin Right---Repub Candidate: Why do you want to starve children?

PS--The Taranto link did not work for me.

Cheers:)

BBC: Copenhagen shootings: Police kill 'gunman' after two attacks

...they have shot dead a man they believe was behind two deadly attacks in the Danish capital...

Appears now they are sure this is the guy as the story says they tracked him on Closed Circuit TV.

No word yet on if he was a Lutheran or a Buddhist .

Copenhagen is considered to be THE model city that the Global wanna-be oligarchs are constantly jetting to, taking notes, and then going back to their own countries to sell emulating it. It keeps coming up in the newsletters I monitor.

Happy post-Valentines morning to everyone.

Supposed to get up to 65F today in Cocoa Beach. In Port Canaveral up A1A they are getting 6 cruise ships in port at the same time this weekend. Expecting 30K people to take advantage of all the great seafood, tours and beachlife.

Up in Daytona its Speed Week leading up to the 500 next week.

Sunny, no snow.

Miss Marple

Good morning!

Clarice, great column!

Jack, I hope you are suitably grateful for your weather. My sister and her husband fly out tomorrow, headed to the southern portion of your state. Wish I could hitch a ride, myself.

jimmyk

Great "Pieces," Clarice. That AUMF proposal is just another temper tantrum by the petulant jerk of a President.

From comments at Instapundit: “Before the Danes get on their high horse let’s recall the many Viking atrocities.”

clarice

Thanks again. Very funny, jimmyk

Good news! Our expected snowfall total dropped overnight, but the bad news is the wind is howling, the snow is light and fluffy, causing white out conditions.

Our @meetthepress panel: @AprilDRyan, @JoeNBC, @kathleenparker and @davidaxelrod.

Not rubbing it in just trying to encoiurage more tourism and the dollars they bring. As Clarice would say, "Come on down and buy ocean front property".

Miss Marple

Skoot,

I find myself surveying the crowds on the rare occasions I have to go to the mall. From my father (who was not fond of crowds) I picked up the habit of locating exits in any large assembly.

Not my favorite thing to do, but it makes sense to be careful.

Miss Marple

65 degrees to me would call for shorts and yard work. I am very tired of sweatshirts and turtle necks.

My daughter, who graduates in May, has been offered a year-long post-grad internship in Copenhagen. She would rather stay in the states, but is still waiting for a solid job offer. I think these recent events are making her decision much easier, job or no.

This is a long but detailed investigation of Moms Demand Action and Shannon Watts. Because she is based in Carmel, a north Indianapolis suburb, I can verify that the portions about Indiana here are true. I forwarded this to our talk radio morning guy, who has repeatedly been ignored by her when requesting an interview (one would think she would want the publicity):

http://tavernkeepers.com/moms-demand-action-or-instant-movement-just-add-crisis/

PDinDetroit

Yeah henry, -8 here in the "D". Still in bed myself...

My BIL is up testing vehicles about 10 hours North of Toronto today. It is -35 F with wind chills to -52 F.

Rick Ballard

Henry,

It's always pleasant to start the day with an enjoyable Pieces. Miss Marple's inclusion of the picture of a very well credentialed complete moron on a day when I choose to remember the wholly uncredentialed genius of Washington and Lincoln highlights the pretentious absurdity of the lame pursuit of a man comfortably sitting on his Throne of Highly Credentialed Skulls.

henry

Rick, that picture may be the leading cause of peanut allergies.

A local version of Walker knows no science. Everything here is now blamed on national politics.

Miss Marple

Rick Ballard,

I found the picture of St. Jimmy of Plains the perfect visual for a holiday which has been watered down to include Millard Fillmore and (eventually) Barack Obama.

The other picture (which they used on Twitter) is Zombie JFK with shark teeth.

Having had a daughter go through an art school as an undergrad, I really think that parents should be warned what a cesspool most of them are. The student exhibit every year had several examples of way lefty politics, sexual deviancy, and outright disgusting attacks on Christianity.

I always went because my daughter would usually get one nice little piece exhibbited (she is quite talented) but it would be off in some corner somewhere, while the well-lit spaces went to Pope John Paull on a swing with an erection, or the life size nude (also with an erection) devil emerging from a well covered in slime and gold dust, or the oil painting of a kid's genitals as viewed from his point of view.

Credentials from art school seem to me to have been a waste of money, as she now feels her talent isn't good enough (wrong) and instead she works less than satisfying jobs.

Anyway, highly recommend going to a student art show to see what's going on, especially if it is attached to a taxpayer funded school.

Jane

I loved today's Pieces - what a treat. Woke up to howling (and I mean HOWLING) wind and maybe 8 new inches of snow. (It's not like I plan to go out to check). No leaks, no pipes frozen so far. The Sunday shows have been pre-empted (so far) for wall to wall blizzard coverage, but I'm warm and have electricity so my thankfulness runneth over.

Oh and make sure you read the link in today's Pieces. It's hysterical.

PDinDetroit

MM - Shannon Watts would be asked questions of substance/facts where all she can do is emote and spout rhetoric. Not likely she would grant an interview where she cannot control the meme.

Overall, Mom's Demand Action is actually helping firearm rights causes as people are waking up every day and joining the fight for RKBA. States are more and more loosening laws regarding firearms instead of restricting them.

Jim Miller

On Friday, I wrote about Scott Walker's missing college degree in this post.

(I treat the subject a little more abstractly than clarice did, and add a couple of examples that support her argument. I am hoping to do at least two follow-up posts, one of which will discuss Wisconsin politics.)

PDinDetroit

clarice - great pieces as always.

I thought clothes "made the man (or woman)"? Will they be attacking Walker's Wardrobe next?

Captain Hate

Is Hatette home with her baby yet?

Hopefully at noon today. She had preclampsia (I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly) which is what led to all these problems.

Time for Rove News Sunday. They did a quick coverage of the Copenhagen killings and still referred to the profit Mohammed instead of some garbage comic book porn character. Johnny B is being interviewed by Chris Wallace and is blaming everything on the Senate as far as the HHS funding.

Captain Hate

John is upset with Wallace's dumbass questioning and claims the donks are the obstructionists, correctly imo.

Marlene

The Bangor Daily columnist Wayne Reilly has an interesting bit of history in his column. Quoting the Bangor Commercial newspaper of Jan.1,1915..."lumbermen and farmers are waiting for a rousing snowstorm that will make hauling good. Snow is in urgent need as the strain of hauling across exposed stretches of ground is one that tells on horses and men."
Who knew there was global warming 100 years ago? The lumbermen were concerned about getting enough snow to haul their logs on horse drawn sleds to the streams and rivers for the drives in the spring. Finally,at the end of the month, the headline read.."Snow at Last! Loggers Rejoice!"

Captain Hate

Wallace should work for MessNBC

Thomas Collins

I'm fine, anonamom. Witnessed a slow motion spinout on 95 between Providence and Boston. The spun out car came to rest without hitting my car or any others. I decided at Walpole to take Route 1 to Washington Street the rest of the way back to Boston. So, when I reached the intersection at Massachusetts Avenue, I was a block from your former haunting ground!

NKONIPAD

Porch is a fine example of fairfield county girls.

Not a good day to be in Fairfield county even though the weather guessersagain grossly exaggerated snowfall the wind is howling and we ll be negative F windchill all day. No snow shoeing in the woods for me.
Just spin class, squats anddeadlifts at the Y and some back filing. Then -4F tonight. Probaby the coldest night in the 24 years we ve been here.

Captain Hate

Wallace is now acting like inviting Netanyahu was the wrong thing to do. Thanks again, Ailes.

NKONIPAD

Congrats on HateTot coming home today, and mom s Ok. All the best CH.

Old Lurker

Cap'n, I figured that. YL2 did her second summer research project in Med School on that (actually on the effect on vision in mothers who had it). I sent her your news and she told me how common it was and that it almost always resolved itself in 2-3 days. She said the hospitals are super cautious because the words "almost always" leaves a non-zero chance of having to deal with fixing something.

Sounds like she is right on schedule.

Now relax.

Miss Marple

Fox News reports (on Twitter) that Boehner said he didn't notify the White House because he didn't want any interference.

This shows that Boehner is not as gullible as some have accused.

Still am thinking Obama isn't above prohibiting Bibi's plane landing.

Netenyahu should take a commercial flight from Jordan or something.

Captain Hate

Thanks, NK.

Boehner is doing an excellent job in handling these trash questions. OL, schedule Wallace to be locked in the next burning building. Dammit, Boehner just said "ISIL" he must be jonesing for a drink and cig.

Thomas Collins

It's not too late, anonamom. I'm sure Obama can point you to a school where you can finish your language requirement with a course in conversational Austrian.

Old Lurker

NK, not compared to my blind dates from CCW back in the day.

Jim Miller

Jane (and others interested in Chinese bible churches) - Here are some examples from my own neighborhood.

Incidentally, that Iman center sits on some very valuable real estate. There aren't enough members, as far as I can tell to pay for it, so it must be getting hefty subsidies from somewhere.

Rick Ballard

Miss Marple,

I can't conceive of any necessity which would drive me to visit a cesspool to verify the quality of its contents.

Henry,

The page you linked re Walker actually contains irrefutable proof of his acceptance of natural selection. Why would he strongly support school choice if he did not believe it to be a strong manifestation of desire to improve the probability of survival? Opposition to school choice or charter schools is a clear indication of rejection of the Darwinian hypothesis regarding evolution and those evincing opposition are obviously just a bunch of Neanderthals.

Captain Hate

Panel time. Am I the only person who thinks PeRINO should keep her hair short? She says RINO things. Julie Pace agrees that Repubs will get the blame but says neither side wants a short term solution. Will says the House should act like craven cowards. Juan is fellating Will; they need to get a room.

Captain Hate

Julie Pace says the Whitehouse dimwits are being idiots on the Buzzfeed video and PeRINO says weird things. Juan thinks it's just fine and is like Nixon on Laugh In and Slick on Arsenio, two other trash presidents. Will is, for a change, justifiably stuffy about it.

Miss Marple

I like Perino's hair shorter, too, Captain Hate. However, she is probably obeying the decrees of the Ailes style department.

Captain Hate

Wallace wastes time every week pimping the ability of "viewers like you" submitting questions via Facebook. First of all, I don't think they'd accept questions from people like me. Second, I'm sure Ailes is spanking it furiously to this. Third, what a disgraceful use of limited time for real content instead of fluff.

Captain Hate

Roy Brown time to school Wallace like he did Cuomo.

Captain Hate

Brown is pounding Wallace like the imbecile he is. Damn I hope Newsbusters snags this.

Captain Hate

Brown just trucked 404 on his dumbass opinion on the current case. 404 looked like an effing idiot on the clip they played.

Captain Hate

Moore graduated from West Point and was a professional kickboxer. I've found my perfect politician.

Captain Hate

Wallace just got slattered again by trying to scold Brown for having been scolded for putting the Ten Commandments in place. Like sending a squirt gun to a nuclear war.

Captain Hate

Pelosi's office has responded to Boehner's interview with an incomprehensible piece of gibberish.

Panel time. Will says that what 404 wants for war authorization is too permissive to do anything he might want to accomplish. Juan thinks Generalissimo JEF is just fine and Congress should just rubberstamp it. PeRINO says reauthorize the 2001 resolution. Julie Pace says the ditherers are screwing the pooch.

JiB:
Wearing shorts and tee-shirt in protest to your snark

Miss Marple:
65 degrees to me would call for shorts and yard work.

Iggy started it but now everyone's talking about shorts.

Fun Fact of the Day: There are no images online of Miss Marple (the Agatha Christie character, not everyone's favorite commenter, although this may also be true of her as well, I don't know) wearing shorts. However, Jennifer Garner was tagged by Disney for some upcoming movie as Miss Marple and there are plenty of pics of her wearing less than shorts.

Captain Hate

Oh dear God, Rory Kennedy is the Power Player of the Week. Wasn't she the Kennedy who was whoring around while being married to Andrew Cuomo? Way to give coverage to a family of the "little people" that the MFM never publicizes, Ailes.

And that's a wrap.

Sydney Bristow as Miss Marple?

Captain Hate

Did I drive everybody else off?

Btw, I picked up Mrs H at the airport last night through a harrowing drive in pretty bad conditions on the roads. By the time I picked her up conditions improved greatly so no problem. It's -2 right now with a wind chill of -22.

clarice

I'm glad you are all well ,CH

Miss Marple

Miss Marple played by Jennifer Garner is typical Hollywood.

Anyone who has read the books knows that the secret to Miss Marple's success is that she is often discounted because she is an old lady who knits, has fluffy white hair, and wears tweeds and sensible shoes. She solves mysteries by drawing parallels to her observances of human nature in her village, St. Mary Meade.

However, if everyone wants to think I resemble Jennifer Garner, it's ok with me. :-)

Old Lurker

You CAN find pictures of Miss Marple online if you go to the Masterpiece Theater web page. However, she looks exactly as our own MM describes and I don't think there are any photos of her in shorts.

Captain Hate

I think Jennifer Garner is gorgeous and a talented actress even if marry Ben Afflicted identifies her as a dumbass. However casting her as Miss Marple makes about as much sense as giving the role of Macbeth to a butchy lezzo in a horrible play I left during the intermission years ago.

My daughter, who graduates in May, has been offered a year-long post-grad internship in Copenhagen.

Boat, encourage her to go to Copenhagen. Everyone should live outside the United States for at least six months. I spent a year in Australia at 16 and 2-1/2 years in the Netherlands beginning at 25.

With Copenhagen as a base she’ll be able to take trains to other fascinating places. She’ll see what retail business is really like. She’ll find wonderful foods, neat people, and learn to value each new day.

Captain Hate

I don't know if sending an email to Marcia Fudge would do any good because there's no evidence she knows how to read. Plus I don't need an IRS audit.

Captain Hate

I second what sbw says and I've never done more than vacation in Europe. I think that's an excellent education by itself.

My three months with a Eurorail Pass in the summer of 1969 was, looking back, one of the most important experiences of my life.

boatbuilder, I agree with sbw. As long as she will be paid enough to afford Copenhagen, can't think of many places more charming, despite recent events.
