Abercrombie & Fitch is going to war, or something - the NY Times juxtaposes some ISIS proselytizing next to a report of Obama's attempts to counter same:
The Times also explains that Obama is updating the "No true Scotsman" argument for the 21st century:
“[W]e are not at war with Islam. We are at war with people who have perverted Islam.”
Lest you wonder who died and made Obama Grand Mufti, rest assured he has his reasons for imagining he can decide the validity of another's professed religious beliefs.
He is the one. At least in his own mind, and the minds of the MSM.

Akbar Ahmed, chairman of Islamic studies at American University and author of a book on Islam in America, said he supported the Obama administration’s care in avoiding a counterproductive smear of all Muslims. But he said the president sometimes seemed to bring an academic approach to a visceral, highly politicized discussion.
“Obama’s reaching a point where he may have to ditch this almost scholastic position,” Mr. Ahmed said. “He sounds like a distinguished professor in the ivory tower, and he may have to come down into the hurly-burly of politics.”
No, he sounds like an idiot.

I for one disagree with TM and the first couple of comments. GWB/Cheney made this point regarding islamic terrorism repeatedly for 8 years, and I happen to agree with that. When Obummer is forced kicking and screaming to make this statement, the real issue is, who are his enemies who are 'perverting' Islam? Well those enemies would be the House of Saud, al-sisi, the Gulf Sheiks, and all muslim political leaders who are not actively part of the MB. Just remember what Adm Lyons said, and everything about Obummer is easy to decode.

I don't think that Davis Jr. has a clue and he must be seething at the 49'ers new digs across the bay. But at some point common sense must prevail and the NFL has been sucking at the government teat for a very long time.
San Diego is still digging out from its financial mess and the team is very profitable. They just want more.
I do think the Chargers will take a big hit if they move. The Raiders seem to have tapped into the same vein as the Dodgers. People in love with the colors.
A lot of people won't go to Dodger games anymore because of the potential for violence.
I don't see both teams collaborating, though. A lot of ego involved and some real downside in PR.

Oakland just can't afford to provide a decent stadium for either the baseball or football team. The baseball situation is a terrible mess because the Giants refuse to let the As relocate to San Jose, which everybody wants except those dipshits. I would hope Goodell would be working on some way to resolve the Raiders situation other than moving them to LA, but with his track record maybe he shouldn't do any more than strut around his office with his Augusta National blazer on and a Napoleon hat.

http://freebeacon.com/issues/feds-america-should-adopt-plant-based-diet/
The federal committee responsible for nutrition guidelines is calling for the adoption of “plant-based” diets, taxes on dessert, trained obesity “interventionists” at worksites, and electronic monitoring of how long Americans sit in front of the television.
The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC) released its far-reaching 571-page report of recommendations to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Thursday, which detailed its plans to “transform the food system.”
Sounds like a good argument for the Republican Congress to completely defund HHS.

They must've been pretty bad if he can remember them after so much time has lapsed.
I think I've mentioned here before that in the summer of '75 I met one of the Kent State shooting victims who was staying with a friend of mine until he told him he should take off because his roommate was tired of him trying to snake his girlfriend. I didn't stay in touch with him but he would always show up for any anniversary of the shooting and you could tell by the accounts in the Plain Dealer (chock full of Kent grads) that there was nothing else going on in his life (he was already divorced by the time I met him in his early 20s). He wasn't a bad guy but he let that one instance, which he was caught up in almost by accident, define the rest of his life which contained almost nothing else. He died of a heart attack a few years ago at 60. I wasn't overly surprised.

That just isn't true CH. Though if you read all the reporting on the issue, I wouldn't blame you for thinking it.
The Giants couldn't grant those market rights if the want to, because they are contractually prohibited from doing so. The SF ballpark was built exclusively with private funds (what a concept!), and in all the various financial instruments used to finance it, the territory rights are part of the collateral or promised assets.
Until all those instruments expire or are paid off, which is something like 2025 (not exactly certain of the dates so don't quote me), there is nothing the Giants can do even if they wanted to.

Also it ignores one reality: A's fans do not like the Giants and vice versa. The As were completely screwed by that deal and Selig should be lynched for rubber stamping it. The As will doubtlessly relocate somewhere far away because of it. Way to support the national pastime, Bud.

If I owned the A's I'd build a ballpark somewhere along the I-680 or I-580 corridors in the East Bay. There's land available, it's a perfect location to draw the A's existing fan base, and would be attractive to the fastest growing segment of A's fans which is from Sacramento and the Central Valley.

Bob's father was Army officer also, part of the occupation force in Germany. He came home after WWII long enough to marry his childhood sweetheart, very German Catholic girl from NW Ohio (parts are like a little Bavaria).
She felt comfortable in Germany (grew up speaking German at home) so he was fine with staying until 1958. All four of my cousins were born in Germany.

Buckeye, although by now it's surely Spanish, German used to be the most prominent foreign language spoken in the Cleveland area. This was borne out by a friend of mine whose sister married and lived in Germany. When the married couple were in a Cleveland suburban mall their daughter said in German that a woman within hearing distance was fat and ugly. The woman replied, idk in what language, that their daughter was rude and reflected poorly on them as parents.
I can testify from experience that people with whom you take multiple grad school classes tend to stick in your mind, particularly if you like or dislike them.

Concord, Livermore, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, etc. which ever muni wants to play ball so to speak.
It would be a more pleasant drive from Santa Cruz cutting over to 680 instead of staying on 880 and going through the ugliest sections of the Bay Area.
If the A's and Raiders could get their acts together they should build a dual use complex -- A separate ballpark and stadium with shared parking facilities.

I agree with Some Guy wrt location. I'd go even further and say in Bollinger Canyon above San Ramon. Contra Costa County is a much better location than Alameda County due to the political structure. It has suffered minimal degradation in comparison to the deeper shades of Blue Hell nearby.

If the 5th Circuit defers action on the stay application in order to allow Judge Hannan to issue a decision on the merits (after trial or SJ motion), there's no doubt he would issue a permanent injunction based on these lines from his stay decision:
“The Government must concede that there is no specific law or statute that authorizes DAPA. In fact, the President announced it was the failure of Congress to pass such a law that prompted him (through his delegate, Secretary Johnson) to ‘change the law.’”
DHS cannot “enact a program whereby it not only ignores the dictates of Congress, but actively acts to thwart them … The DHS Secretary is not just rewriting the laws; he is creating them from scratch.”
On the government’s claim that the federal court has no right to review the legality of the DAPA program: “As there is no statute that authorized the DHS to implement the DAPA program, there is certainly no statute that precludes judicial review.”

I finally watched the Megyn Kelly segment with Rudy and I guess I should give her credit for being confrontational which is the part of her job that her counterparts at the other alphabets never learn. But she's just wrong to listen to that snaggletoothed ambulatory lice colony talking through her fat ass on what Giuliani said. Every one of those commiecrats has said much worse about GWB, Walker, Reagan and any other GOP pol worth a damn and it's high time that Ailes talking heads own up to it.

Rev Josh Caneles says Carson is the perfect venue for pro football because they are multi-ethnic.
Many "dats right"s could be heard from the crowd.
Several "uh-huh"s and "do tell"s were mentioned.

Teamsters douche up now.
"Si se puede!" he exclaims.
He said the principals came to him first to discuss their plan.

There are many different avenues to get on the law review at HLS (including some AA slots), but once you're on the review the presidency, as far as I know, has always been determined by election. I must say I'm not certain of that, and Jane may be correct that it started with Obama. (the president in my clase was also the guy who stood no. 1.)

Samoan Chief is speaking in foreign language now.
I can't pronounce his name so I will call him Seau's fat ghost.
"There are more young Samoans that are playing in the NFL than States. This is truth."
He is the planning commissioner.
