Putin is back but... is it only coincidence that Putin and I have never been seen together? Perhaps not. Rumors of a coup at the Kremlin or Just One Minute may or may not be accurate, but let me just say (teaser alert!) that change may be afoot.

Since I don't want anyone to hurt their elbows scrolling thru the 18 pages of the previous thread, I will re-post this interesting local story you may find interesting this morning:
Female Dog Musher - 1, California Lawyer - 0
Bit of an odd story from a Bar in Nome following the finish of the Iditarod:
Post-Iditarod arm-wrestling match leaves fan with broken bone and musher Zirkle mortified
NOME -- There was a sickening pop, followed by an eerie silence as the crowd inside Breakers Bar realized what they’d witnessed: Aliy Zirkle had just broken some woman's arm.
Grace Liu learned a painful lesson about tangling with mushers Wednesday night in Nome when Zirkle, a 45-year-old sled dog racing superstar from Two Rivers, snapped the California lawyer’s arm like a piece of driftwood during an arm-wrestling match just hours after the 15-time Iditarod finisher guided her team to a fifth-place finish in the 2015 Iditarod.
“Everyone gasped,” said Liu, a 36-year-old patent lawyer from Fresno. “And you know it takes a lot to quiet a bar in Nome.”
Zirkle said it was her first arm-wrestling contest. And likely her last.
“God, I feel bad,” she said Friday.
Aliy's the gal in orange on the left.
And for the unsqueamish, (and Doc Anonamom:) here's the X-Ray photos of the Harvard Educated Lawyer's arm.

Isn't this old news about Putin reappearing? I also read an analysis by a former European security guy where he thinks it was a "silent" coup and Putin is now just a poser following other's directions. I find that very un-Russian like in that in all of their coups a corpse is the best evidence of a takeover.
And how the hell can you remain silent in the land of vodka?

In honor of the President, let me be the first to say that I do know any of the facts, but the White female TSA Officer who shot the Black machete wielding man running thru the New Orleans Airport Terminal was obviously a case of Racism.

With apologies to DoT right up front and out of the way, I must confess the story of a Harvard law grad getting an arm broken in an Alaskan bar brings a tear of joy to my face. Too bad it wasn't Barry's.

Unseasonably warm in Boise. Local ski resort has closed. Snowpack is mediocre but serviceable. Spring is at least two weeks early so of course the local press--fishwrap and TV--have been masturbating over global warming. Gramsci would be proud nevertheless.

Sue, it is an ad server used by sitemeter. Lots of complaints about malware slipping in via vindicosuite's various domains. The latest appears to be a JavaScript insertion which plagues JOM, LI, & Gateway Pundit page controls. If it gets too bad, you can turn off JavaScript in your browser and the page controls function again -- but you can't comment. That is what I do on my iPad, flip JavaScript off to get to the next page then on again to comment. As far as I can tell, Apple has a fix for the Java insert bug for Mac, but not for iPad or iPhone. The only way to clear it is to reset your device to factory (then reload everything), thus tweaking JavaScript until Apple gets its act together.

Aliy Zirkle, 45, was born in New Hampshire. She spent her childhood in New Hampshire, Puerto Rico, and Missouri. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Biology and Anthropology and came to Alaska in 1990, where she lived in a wall tent on the Alaskan Peninsula and worked for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. She’s lived in Two Rivers for the last 17 years and says she “enjoys the community and the surrounding wild lands.” Aliy lists her occupation as “dog musher” and has finished the Iditarod 14 times...When asked what she enjoys, she says “hiking and drinking good coffee.”
She finished in second place in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and I think she came in 5th this year.
Perhaps I need to do a series on:
Babes of The Iditarod!
Jessie Royer (Finished 4th)
Alyi:
Paige Drobney (finished 27th):
Anna Berrington (28th)
Anna's sister Kristy Berington (29th):
Jodi Bailey (30th)
DeeDee Jonrowe (31st she's run 33 Iditarods and finished 2nd twice)
Pretty good looking bunch if you ask me.
8 women are still out on the trail and 3 dropped out.

Whatever happens and whatever the score or who wins, the Bearcats have demonstrated how to play Kentucky. Get physical. They do not like it. Go hard on the boards. They do not like it. Set big screens. They do not like it. Run hard on fast breaks. They do not like it.
I think this game will be film at KU, Arizona, Gonzaga, NC, Duke and all the contnenders.

I don't think TM would put a teaser out there if he was going to shut the blog down. Perhaps he is moving to another platform (as, for example, Jammie Wearing Fool did).
If TM is handing over JOM, however, I say his fans should have a vote. I am sure that those who have been around here for awhile will agree that the only worthy successor to TM would be that long lost poster {drumroll} TCO! Remember TCO? He or she was either an utter nut case or did a great job making believe he or she was nutso. If we are losing TM, we need a compete change of pace! :-)

If maybe playground ball but they are minnows compared to sharks. The point is that someone with a stronger bench, 3 pt. shooters and very physical guys under the rim can give Kentucky all they want. They are a very good team and I have no doubt they win it all but they are vulnerable in certain areas. Maybe CH can expand on this but I do believe a certain combo can bring them down as long as that combo includes luck.

Recalling yesterday's $80,000 Price tag for Rent-a-Cars to get Michelle Obama to Kyoto's Kiyomizu Temple, it's worth comparing that to this bit from Mark Steyn's latest mentioning Prince Charle's entourage arriving in Louisville Kentucky earlier this week.
I nonetheless still amazed at the modesty of Charles' cohort.
The attached picture shows the moment he stepped from the car. And the car was not even a limousine. The entire motorcade consisted of only two police cars, Charles' towncar, and one additional vehicle. The other (empty) police cars visible across the street are not there for the prince. They are parked there every day because City Hall is just down the block.
As for Kiyumizu, the street to the Temple is one of those old medieval winding streets that becomes so narrow that the cabs stop and for the last few hundred yards you have to get out of the cab and walk. Usually it's packed with tourists, and the ancient street is nothing but restaurants, gift shops, and the old confection shops that make Yatsuhashi, the thousand year old candy pastry with the green bean and red bean filling.
That we are spending $80 grand for Michelle's supposed safety in friendly old Kiyomizu Japan, while Prince Charles only needs 2 police escorts and a town car in downtown Louisville, tells me we're nuts.

CNN says that the White House's use of the word "Reassess" in the sentence, we are going to reassess our relationship with Israel, is the same word that Kissinger used back in the 70's, so therefore the current US policy reassessment with Israel is nothing new and exactly the same thing the US did way back then.
That's the takeaway I just got from the Headline Ticker and segment just aired on CNN NewsRoom with Poppy Harlow, featuring panelist Marc Lamont Hill screaming about an out of control Israel.
