Funny thing Lyle. Only the white privilege people get their beliefs challenged, where even the lefty profs know getting beliefs challenged is key to an education, so the progs have set things up so only those with white privilege get an education. Nice perpetual victim machine they built there.

Shoulda been framed that way from the gitgo.

Jane, the underlying theme of all 'birther' cognition is allegiance. There's no energy there, no doubt about allegiance, as there was and increasingly is about Obama.

Yeah, I think even I could give it a decent shot. And while we're giving props for consistency, let's add in all the folks here who are consistent non-birthers; and the near-unanimous consensus that the argument is tedious and stale.

JIB,

Before Obama's race baiting, there was no reason to feel "emboldened". After a while of this shit, it's going to be more and more difficult to see this as an individual characteristic. Never in my lifetime could I imagine judging someone on their race. Now I have to fight it. (Actually I think about Charles Payne, Deroy Murdock, Thomas Sowell, and Clarence Thomas and I come back to earth pretty quickly.)

Gretta Van Susterin seems to share the same opinion of the bogusness of that NYTimes story on Hillary's E-Mails as you guys expressed on the previous thread:

Van Susteren Slams NY Times Story on Clinton Emails: ‘What’s Wrong with Journalism’

“Can’t the NY Times do better than this?” Van Susteren asked. “No named sources and they didn’t see the emails themselves and we are suppose to accept this as the facts?”

Congressman McClintock is very troubled by pulse flows proposed by the Bureau of Reclamation from the New Melones Reservoir for environmental purposes.  As the reservoir is only one-quarter full – a dangerously low level for the start of the dry season, these flows threaten to deprive residents of Calaveras County of their drinking water supply.  Congressman McClintock discussed the situation with Bureau of Reclamation Commissioner Estevan Lopez by telephone and sent a letter to follow-up.

“I can only express directly and unambiguously the consequences of [this action] and to reiterate my warning to you: if you release this water for fish now and the human population of Copperopolis and surrounding communities runs dry as a result – it will be an entirely avoidable human tragedy of your own making,” stated Congressman McClintock in the letter.

ABC Radio News at the top of the Hour. First story is that the University of Virginia is about to reveal their results of the supposed Rape's at UVA as reported in that bogus Rolling Stone story. The reporter makes no judgements and lets us know that no facts have been released, but leads listeners to think that there might be some stuff that was discovered in the investigation that will be revealed later today that may prove critical of the Fraternity's. Exactly like what Gretta Van Susterin said above, it strikes me as Journalistic malpractice.

The UVA non-story BTW, takes precedence over Ted Cruz's announcement. Cruz's announcement was mentioned number 3 in the line-up.

Wretchard: Round Two

So, are we doomed?

These kinds of forebodings may never eventuate. Or they may happen far more slowly than we imagine. Adam Smith was once told by John Sinclair that “if we go on at this rate, the nation must be ruined,” to which Smith replied “be assured, my young friend, that there is a great deal of ruin in a nation.”

The serial dishonesty of the Obama administration in the near term involves a question about whether we can have honest government. In the long term, the question is whether we can have effective government at all.

“Can I trust what the president says?”

The terrifying answer is: “No.”

Catching up,

Sadly many Jews are just leftists who happen to be Jewish, and quite happy with O's attempt to influence the election. Ends justify means and all that.

Still, I do think that if O carries out his threat he will lose significant Jewish support. And even more Christian support.

Did any of you ever see the film Putney Swope? It was directed and written by Robert Downey Sr. and addressed the problems of race.

Very funny in a very black comedic way. The ad agency was corrupt before and becomes corrupt again under the new, radical AA management. A fable for our times.

Anyone else notice that Sony, HBO and others are already looking for favorable treatment under "net neutrality"? More rent seeking = more bribery. These people don';t even bother to hide their corruption any more.

And Obama, like Bush before him and others, is a tool of Goldman Sachs. we live in the United States of Goldman Sachs these days. Our new corporate overlords.

IMO, such BS would not happen for too long if instead of just voting yea or nay, each congressperson was required to provide a statement that said they understood what they were voting for/against.

Here is an example of a site that requires a statement.

"By clicking the Continue button, I certify that I have read and agree to the disclosures below and agree to comply with all of their terms and conditions."

Such a statement can be changed to say anything that the site need responded to.

Police suspend investigation into alleged gang rape described in Rolling Stone article.

Every person that participated in telling & spreading that lie should be prosecuted. Jackie Coakley's picture should be on every newspaper's front page with the headline "LIAR", instead of the Phi Kappa Psi frat. house.
