Thanks Hit.

And, God Bless Dick Cheney.

lyle

My hope is every prog in progland is aware of Cheney's comments and is seething. Good start to the day.

Also, God Bless Clarice Feldman.

Item 3,487,021 revealing the difference between the GOP and the Dems:

The White House is trying to bottle up bipartisan legislation that would give Congress 60 days to review a final Iran nuclear deal.

The pushback may be having an effect — Sen. Chris Coons, a Democrat from Delaware, is now undecided about the legislation after Republicans had touted him as a supporter.

Coons is worried Republicans might use the bill as a political weapon, something the White House has warned about.

Party first, country second.

When Judith Miller was on Maria Bartiromo's Sunday show she was plugging her book and named Scooter Libby directly as being railroaded.

Then she went on Megyn's show and said "her source". She also said her source wanted her to come forward and say his name but the NYT's didn't want her to do that.

Hit,

Thanks for stepping in with a good post.

Cheney's load of buckshot at the pathetically incompetent liar in the White House is indicative of the shift from Emerging Turtle displayed by Cruz, Walker and Paul. As long as King Merde continues to operate without an organ grinder, no one will lack targets.

I wonder what Coon's will say after Schumer chats with him.

Old Lurker

Lyle 12:02. I saw a story last week detailing that every human on earth, all 7B of them, could fit standing up in the five boroughs of NYC.

sbw

daddy previously: are all introduced species bad actors?

I would think that progs would be outraged that humans would dare impose themselves in the decision-making.

And then, pulled the other way by their urge to rule, they would tear themselves apart.

lyle

No thanks, OL!

From pagar's 12:49 link:

The event focused on the Risky Business Project, a joint effort by Steyer, former treasury secretary Hank Paulson, and other public figures to get the business community on board with restrictions on carbon emissions.

The memo suggested that Lew ask how the project could “best help the Administration generate support for its climate initiatives” and what federal policies could force “investors and other private actors internalize the risks that are outlined in this report.”

According to the memo, “expected U.S. government participants” in the meeting included senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett and John Podesta, the president’s senior climate and energy aide and the former president of the Steyer-backed Center for American Progress.

Good little commies planning our economy. As to CH's comment yesterday about his continued lowering of his opinion of GWB (which I share), the hiring of Paulson is yet more grist for that mill.

Miss Marple

Ugh. It's 72 now but severe weather headed out way.

lyle

I've been up in your neck o' the woods, Marlene. Very scenic.

Captain Hate

As to CH's comment yesterday about his continued lowering of his opinion of GWB

Not exactly what I meant to state, which was that my relatively constant opinion of GWB was lower than most other JOMers. I still voted for him twice and don't regret either vote. But my issues with him haven't changed through time.

Old Lurker

"No thanks, OL!"

What, Lyle? You worried about the line to the bathroom?

lyle

Didn't mean to misconstrue, CH. I voted for him twice as well with no regrets. It's just that for all his efforts to reach out to the Dems, a fat lot of good it did for him.

I read so many books about the economic crash in '07 that the titles have all run together and I can't name just one, but in all of them, the hiring of Paulson was posed as a real head-scratcher. His wife was/is one of Cankles' big fans and virulent Bush hater.

lyle

The overall stench, OL. Which may well be intrinsically tied to the queue to the loo.

Miss Marple

Somebody suggested Paulson, if I remember correctly. I would have to go look and see who it was.

glasater

Listening to your link right now, Dave in MA. Really good to hear after all those JOM years hashing over Plamegate.

Captain Hate

No problem with me, lyle; I may have misleadingly stated it for all I know.

Tammy Bruce is singing the praises of Cheney and Ailes.

henry

RE Paulson, this note from ChiTown lurking unit:

Painting GWB for Bernanke & Paulson's actions against concerted efforts to do financially what 9/11 failed to do over the weekend of Sept. 15, 2008 is not helpful. Faulting Bernanke & Paulson for propping up the TBTFs at Geithner's begging as head of NY Fed is far, far the more appropriate route. That GS got bailed out first and foremost should be all you need to know.

Knowing that Paulson has since sunk all his efforts into the green agenda ever since, ought to fill in the blanks.

henry

Plus a verdict in the Boston Marathon bombing case for those who like watching TV preeners. I'm sure plenty of hot air will warm MA until we hear the verdict.

lyle

I defer to our CTlu (like that?) and agree wholeheartedly.

Awhile back I read a compelling article stating those same 7B people could all fit in Texas pretty comfortably.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

It wasn't Bernanke or Paulson who got in front of the cameras and said;

He didn't even qualify it with a "we".

lyle

Beasts of England

The Tide picked up Avery Johnson to lead their hoops program. The article in the paper paints the story of a guy with a nice pro career, both as player and coach. And he appears to connect to the kids and certainly has an infectious smile and manner. Sounds like a good hire.

Jane

I have lots of issues with W but I love love love him, because I love love love his honor.

Jane

I cannot believe Graham is running for president and I cannot believe McCain at 80 is running for another term. Those 2 disgust me.

Frau Edith Steingehirn

OT - Now we hear we should not address Hillary! by her! first name because it diminishes her! (fill in the blank). She! Who Must Not Be Looked At or have her! personal space invaded by Y-chromonsome carrying individuals chose to run on her! first name.

While I'm ranting, why must she! be addressed as Sec.Clinton? She!no longer holds that office. No one in my version of the US should be addressed by *former* office titles. The exemption is a Kentucky Colonel, and I doubt KY would ever grant her! the honor. If Hillary! has ever completed Auctioneer School she is, however, entitled to be addressed as Col. Hillary!

Going, going, gone and sold to the man with the Hungarian accent.

Jane, IMO, Graham is running to break off Southern votes for Cruz and/or Rubio. Haven't a clue re McCain except his ego.

James D.

I'll second your rant, Frau!

NKvirusedandback

"While I'm ranting, why must she! be addressed as Sec.Clinton? She!no longer holds that office"

Remember your Evita lyrics from the Rainbow Tour in Italy:

Evita: Did you hear that, they called me a whore, they actually called me a whore!

Admiral: Senora Peron, I'm still called an Admiral, even though I gave up the sea, long ago.

lyle

LOL, NK.

Miss Marple

new lurker,

That is what I think. This is the "dived and conquqer" deal that got McCain the nomination. (Think Guilianai, Thompson, Santorum, Huckabee etal).

I worry about the conservatives in the mix because there are so many and fairly few who would be classified as moderates (cough-Jeb-cough). I need a Venn diagram with "appeals to social conservatives", "appeals to fiscal conservatives" and "appeals to national defense hawks" in the circles.

Jane

Sorry to be running my mouth off, but WTH started this Plame renewal? What was the event?

NKvirusedandback

Judith Miller's book.

Miss Marple

I really need to start proofreading my posts. I sound like a lunatic.

I prefer to call her Hillarity.

But I believe if we were a polite society -and we really can't claim that any longer - an elected officer is formally addressed by the title of the last office held.

President Bush 1 and 2 are still addressed as "president" and I recently heard Hillarity call BC, President Clinton. So she's the one trying to change the tone of things. She used to refer to him as "Bill".

Frau Edith Steingehirn

Thank you, Clarice, for taking on the DC Dem boot on the throat of justice. You could be baking more perfect baguettes, skyping with the wolverine, enjoying your mother's company, knitting fab articles, or getting the Pikes 'R Us business ready for the next election cycle.

Count 4 (pressure cooker WMD) guilty (1-4 are all death penalty eligible counts)

clarice

NKvirusedandback

Tsar guilty counts 1-4, good. How does Fed Death sentencing work? a new trial and jury decides? Ah... who am I kidding, the DoJ will accept a life sentence, w/o parole... then Obummer will pardon him and ship him to ISIS.

narciso

yes, it was an interesting angle, that they developed for Samaritan to go after 'the Machine'

Question for Clarice: Did Fitz get all the way to suborning perjury with Miller? Or, given the bafflegab, was her testimony just too incoherent for that?

lyle

And I thought I was cynical, NK.

Marlene

Count one, conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction, carries the death penalty as do other counts. I've been watching the NECN livestream, they put up picture of Martin Richards. Heartbreaking. NECN also said there is a Coast Guard cutter in the harbor,is that for security?

sbw

Schumer’s Iran position is interesting, but very New York City. He has more to be concerned about if the Plame fabric unravels since Wilson spoke to Dem congressional meeting in the relevant timeline. Funny that the transcript was never produced.

henry

Marlene, yardarm access.

cathyf
who did Judy Miller say was her source?
If I understand correctly, she has a scribble in her notes "Flame works for bureau?" and she has no memory at all of the context. She is now speculating that she might have written the note thinking that she would ask one of her (many) State Dept sources whether Wilson's wife worked there. But she really doesn't know. Anyway, the notion that this is evidence that Libby told her who Plame (or Flame) was -- that is simply nonsense.
Captain Hate

Yes, I agree narc. I think it's the first time Finch talked about having a home grown operating system, which we probably already assumed (can you imagine the Machine being interrupted for one of the myriad Windows updates? I'd always assumed it was a Harold version of an extremely advanced Unix IS) and a completely unique programming language, and Samaritan using that as a means to find the Machine. The Facebook POI page said that Zoe was supposed to be the character in "Skip" who worked all the angles but Turco had other commitments so they had to create the new character.
