The Hill: Jeb Bush ‘concerned’ about climate change

Go Huck!

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Pro-life politicians; we were on defense, now we're on offense.
Could they please supply some gonads to the rest of their party?

Captain Hate on the iPad

Jebby is obviously the Prince Charles of the Bush royalty.

henry

CH, no slave holders here either. Quakers & Pa Dutch weren't into that. A fine teaching moment here. The slave holders demanded the 3/5 representation of slaves because slave holders were outnumbered by anti-slavery colonists. The slave holders got away with it for 70 years. The next 150+ years slave holders go directly to jail.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Jeb Bush asked about whether there should be regime change in Iran; “I’ll have to give that some thought. That’s a good question”

No word on his thoughts on the attempt to assassinate Hitler.

Can I change my vote to Huck?

Black culture. Hmmmmmm. Does that include.........................

daddy

Henry,

In that "Ohio Frontier" book my History Bro-in-Law wrote, there is a section my family thought of big interest, in that it mentions a small Quaker bunch in Carteret County North Carolina (my home county) who bailed out and moved to Ohio due to hating Slavery, and started IIRC the first "Anti-Slavery Newspaper in America.

Something very close to that as I recall. I gave the book away years back to a local Historian in Carteret County who was fascinated to learn that and included it his lectures on the Senior Circuit that my parents used to attend.

OK. Dogs say times up.

clarice

This is right up Soylent's alley:http://www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/japanese-scientists-creates-meat-out-of-feces/

Janet

Let Affleck pay reparations.

Captain Hate on the iPad

Welp henry, there might be some in my maternal grandfather's family but they disowned him for marrying my Midwestern grandmother, which probably drove him crazier than he was naturally, so that side of the family was effectively walled off from my scrutiny. Too bad because I have nobody to consult and I can remember some people from my youth whom I have no idea how I'm tied to them if at all...

Threadkiller

Might be right out of his alley as well.

daddy

Clarice,

If we eat that meat made out of human feces, does it mean that 1 out of 10 of us will turn into a woman?
Human waste blamed for turning one in 10 of Britain's male clams into females

Maybe we can market it as "The Bruce Jenner Diet!"

Captain Hate on the iPad

Deep Thoughts by Jeb Bush...

Janet

He coulda handed over some cash to Gates right there.

Captain Hate on the iPad

No Tarhole renounced slavery before Saint Deanie. It's written in The Book.

Miss Marple

What, does Affleck think that slave-owning is passed on through the genes? How supid is that?

Three quarters of my family were non-slave holders, either Quakers or poor Sctos-Irish or Danish immigrants who didn't arrive until the 1880's.

However, my mother's great uncle was involved in a lynching in Corydon and had to flee the state on a fast horse. That fast horse let him win a tidy piece of property in downtown Tulsa during the Oklahoma land rush. He showed up to visit my mother when I was about 5, carried a cane and wore a white suit! We went to the State Fair where he embarrassed my mother by pointing his cane and poking people in the chest, saying "Louis Mossler, Tulsa Oklahoma! Who are you?"

PS. He left all his money to the University of Oklahoma.

Captain Hate on the iPad

Pay up, Ben.

I SAID NOW!

GUS

Miss Marple, Ben Assfleck wants OTHER PEOPLE to carry RACIAL "ORIGINAL SIN".

Not his family. Assflecks new theme song is hence.....WHIP IT.

Whip it good.

Captain Hate on the iPad

Ben is real stoopid, Miss Marple. When he played a complete idiot in the second half of "Chasing Amy", it wasn't really acting.

clarice

Michelle Obama is also the descendant of a slave owner, I'm not--no one in my family came here until after 1900. The rest of you can pay up. (In fact I think by now the majority of living Americans are descendants of people who arrived here after the Civil War.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

When Bill Maher runs rings around a guy, you know he puts his eraser in the pencil sharpener.

henry

Miss M, 3/4 of my family was in Pa pre Revolution. That last quarter escaping "shotgun wedding" style from Scotland in the 1810's to own coal mines in Pa.

Daddy, I heard of a Quaker community in SC, never could figure out how they put up with slavery. Nice to know they amscrayed.

CH, my paternal grandfather was disowned by his family, and my grandmother by hers for marrying him. Somehow I still qualified as a legacy for Merion Cricket Club when I lived in Pa. (Never joined).

Captain Hate on the iPad

Ben looked like he was passing a mental kidney stone when Maher was trucking him.

Jane on Ipad

Oh Hit....

Captain Hate on the iPad

Whoa henry, you come from complete outcasts; I knew there was a reason I liked you.

henry

CH, I like the way my maternal grandfather put it "Henry, we're mutts."

Despite all our family turmoil and insanity, Mother Hate was legit DAR.

Captain Hate on the iPad

Miss Marple, I don't want to lose the chance of telling you thats some impressive family lore.

clarice

The Normal rockwell cover I just posted is probably fair enough a description of America's family tree.

Captain Hate on the iPad

That sums it up well, clarice.

henry

CH, got me on the DAR. My uncles (mom's half brothers) are Texas royalty: great great grandsons of Sam Houston. The elder even had a front row seat at the Texas Sesquicentennial. (didn't hurt that he was also a Vice Admiral).

Janet

Michelle Obama is also the descendant of a slave owner, I'm not--

Me either. I had relatives in Andersonville.

Anyway...is everyone gonna have to pay for the sins of their fore-fathers? How far back is this malarkey gonna go? Will cannibalistic Indian tribes have to pay someone? How do you pay some descendant back for THAT?

Hey man, your relative ate my great, great, great grandfather's sister! Give me some moccasins or something!!

Will we be able to self-certify?

henry

Janet, the Muslims that caught, sold & shipped the slaves are exempt. The rest are fair game.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

If blacks want reparations for slavery why don't they go ask the Arabs? They've got all our money anyway.

Captain Hate on the iPad

Welp henry, you've completely trumped me. Back a long time ago, pre JOM, the third rate bank sent me to Porchlightville for some training and during a break I visited the Texas state house. What a collection of characters from every far flung corner of a ginormous state. The only thing I could compare it to was when we toured Iceland and were told about how people would make the trek across that frozen desert to figure out how to govern the island.

Miss Marple

Captain Hate, I have a lot of bad apples in my past. My paternal grandmother's uncle used to run a con on the train from New York to Florida. They worked a deal where they pretended to be Texas cattlemen.

Then there was Great Aunt Eve (known as "Little Eve") who was hooked up with some mob people and sold stolen clothes out of a secret closet in her home. She mysteriously died falling from the roof of the Claypool Hotel.

This might explain why my mother's parents, both Methodist schoolteachers, sort of looked askance at my dad's family.

HA!

Captain Hate on the iPad

I heart bad apples; but only in the past.

Miss Marple

OMG. Hannity is still going on and on about Panama City spring break.

I think I will head out to bed. I want to get yard work done tomorrow before the rain moves in.

Nytol.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Once they were good and drunk couldn't you have hustled them out of all their money?
That's an unalloyed good, right?

Magpie Kelly's puppet jaw is yammering about the long forgotten story of the llamas on the loose. Howie Kurtz put her up to it.

It was either that or discuss the video from 1995 where a future sitting president spills his commie guts.

She is not afraid.

Michael (fpa Patriot4Freedom)

Porchlight - Had to laugh when I read your post re Magnolia, that *very* strange movie of the late 90's.

One afternoon back then, I stopped at a gas station to buy a pack of smokes. As I pulled into the station, I saw traffic cones set up all around the lot to close off the property. Then I noticed some funny-looking blobs scattered all over the grounds of the station. When I looked closely I saw that the entire back half of the station was covered with these large plastic frogs.

Asked the attendant what's going on and he told me they're filming a scene from some movie named Magnolia, starring Tom Cruise and some other stars.

I was able to pick up one of the frogs and hold it - it was made out of that soft, rubbery plastic that some fishing lures (the worm ones) are made from. Wasn't able to keep it, though, as the FX guys were still scattering frogs about the grounds, and keeping people from running off with their props. Some of them were being thrown from the roof of the store next door, and some from a bucket atop a cherry-picker-type lift.

It was amazing to see how they changed the scene from the look of the station that afternoon, to the scene in the movie with the frogs raining from the sky.

For anyone who didn't see the movie, here's a look at what you missed. Frog scenes from Magnolia, on YouTube . . .

Ig:
Once they were good and drunk couldn't you have hustled them out of all their money?

Heh. My weakness in hustling is that I never actually hustle. I play to make every shot . . . and usually make most my shots. I should miss a few here and there to draw drunkards in for the kill...if I was hustlin'.

I just fear that they are now spilling drinks on my table, climbing on my table, taking the cue and ripping the felt on my table.

I woulda stayed to defend my table, but 15-1 was not in my favor.

Since JiB is on hiatus, I can mention an American Belgian pale ale style, Brooklyn Local 1, that just gets incredibly high marks from this hop kisser. Eff those IPAs; this is the shiznet.

Although I'd love to hear those magic five words, "Kiss me where it smells", from her, I'm thoroughly enjoying TK's Magpie Chronicles.

The level of ignorance in this story is stunning on so many levels. We are frogs in a sauce pan, and we're letting these bastards boil US and our CHILDREN.

With leftists...if a crook had a lousy criminal father then that is an excuse to let them off easy cause ya know...they had a hard life.

If an innocent American had a lousy ancestor 100 years ago...then MAKE THEM PAY anyway!!

Recent evil is an excuse. Long ago evil is inexcusable.

Threadkiller

It is probably why Hillary wanted us to believe her ancestors weren't in the US yet, Janet.

TK, in case you haven't noticed, I'm very opinionated and have a big yap. When an online music magazine closed up shop, I lost a forum. My RNS summaries fill the void. Plus it's fun for me.

My girl Tammy has been singing the praises of Ailes lately. I'm conflicted. I don't think it's unrelated to her NYC relocation.

Michael (fpa Patriot4Freedom)

CaptH - If teh Tammy is angling to be a replacement for Greta van Susteren (please, oh please), I'd willingly overlook the Ailes praise. Just sayin'.

narciso

Yes we make allowances for that. Apparently zaphod bent over forwards for Volodya and rouhani, at the renting press conferences, so it was even worse than I expected.

The llama metaphor did capture the scrum after red queen,of course Kurtz is dumber then a bag of hammer. A very good blue bloods where chief Reagan out maneuvered a younger slimmer sharpton manque.

maryrose

MM
Imagine having a relative that took part in the Oklahomama land rush That's impressive
When Ron Howard directed the movie Far And Away it was because he found out that an ancestor had been a part of the Land Rush

Captain Hate on the iPad

Speaking of Tammy, she had a reasonable hypothesis about why Rodham is so unwilling to meet with regular people. It's because she is afraid to be confronted with having to account for her lies. It doesn't matter with interacting with a natural liar like her "husband" or that stunted thing that somehow popped out of her. But interacting with normal human beings is so far out of her wheelhouse she may as well be on something revolving Alpha Centauri.

maryrose

By the way I love the show Blue Bloods Have watched it since its inception
Also my ancestors were immigrants I know what boat they came over on after the Civil War
I don't believe in reparations Its another Obama scam

maryrose

CH
Congrats on the new job
Geraldo is a tool

I think Hil is a desperation candidate Later in the game she will be replaced to give Dems momentum at the end
I still think k as repub wins it

Captain Hate on the iPad

P4P, I think Tammy's bidness model has morphed to include many Fox appearances. She still has the need to scream on the air, drop F bombs and the other outrageous things which I find endearing, so I doubt she'll ever have a hosting gig.

Cities alpha 6, affleck was a one time student at zaphod'S alma mater, occidental. From his wiki it's hard to see where the slave owning part was. Even odder he didn't chose to exploit it as a reason for his family's activism.

daddy

Logically, if we take Hillary's comments about her grandparents all being born in Foreign Countries, it follows them that Hillary Clinton is not eligible to be elected President of the United States.

This is how I see it.

1) Hillary tells us that all her grandparents were born in Foreign Countries. Obviously we must believe her since she does not lie.

2) All her grandparents therefore were born in Foreign Countries like Scranton, Pa, New Jersey, Chicago, and Wales, and the one from Wales emigrated to the foreign country of New Jersey, since that is the Foreign Country that I think Hillary has told us is one of the Foreign Countries that one of her other grandparents was born in.

3) Since by Hillary's definition these locations are all Foreign Countries, none of her grandparents could ever actually arrive in America and claim citizenship, since to claim citizenship you have to live in America to apply for citizenship, and obviously none of her grandparents ever did.

4) Her 4 non-US citizen Foreign Grandparents, who did not live in America and who did not apply for citizenship, gave birth to Hillary's parents, who were the children of non-US citizen foreigners, and I believe they both were born in the Foreign Countries of Chicago and New Jersey.

5) These 2 non-Citizen children, Hillary's parents, who continued to not live in America and who therefore could not have applied for US citizenship, got married and gave birth to Hillary in the Foreign Country of Chicago.

6) Ergo, since Hillary Clinton was not born in America and was born to non-US parents who did not live in America, she is not a Natural Born citizen, and therefore she is ineligible to become President of the United States.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Either I need some serious sleep or those last half dozen or so narciso comments set some kind of record in the confuse-a-cat category.

I'm hitting the sack.

Ben Steyn has gone officially crazy.

This tonight verbatim from his appearance on Neil Cavuto's Show, and neither of them was laughing so I think Steyn was serious.:

Neil Cavuto: So you're saying Ben, that there's the mainstream crowd of the Republican Party that says we need a Jeb Bush, we need maybe a Governor Walker, and they're others who say, and I think this was Jack Welch's point, we need someone who fires up people the way Ronald Reagan did, although when I told him that Ted Cruz didn't exactly invite Reagan comparison, well he said the guy's got to smile and laugh more. What do you say?

Ben Steyn: Oh my gosh! Just mentioning Ronald Reagan. To think of comparing our guys now with Ronald Reagan makes me want to weep. We have one person that I compare with Ronald Reagan---Lindsay Graham! He's not even running. I love him like mad. He's not even running. I love, love, love, love, loved Reagan. But no, we don't have anybody like Reagan. I wish we did. If we had somebody like Reagan it would be a wonderfully exciting race. We don't.

I think he was serious about Lindsay Graham.

Our big local story today is pushback against the Department of Fish and Game's decision to kill a momma Black Bear and her 4 cubs that are infesting a local Anchorage neighborhood:

It's been leading most of the TV newscasts and been the number 1 topic on Local Talk today: Fish and Game plans to kill family of black bears in Government Hill

This is the 2nd year the mom and 4 cubs have made their home among the garbage cans in the Government Hill neighborhood of north Anchorage. I believe that when they captured and removed the momma a few years back, they only took her 30 miles up the road so she returned shortly trailing 4 brand new babies. Now they are back for a second year and the F&G Dept has decided the thing to do now is simply kill them.

Local Talk Radio and it's callers have generally been in favor of killing them, whereas the ADN and their commenters have lined up heavily in demanding the bears be saved.

Good morning!

Here is the local political reporter's analysis of Pence's situation.

daddy will be interested to hear that Indianapolis's xcellent mayor, Greg Ballard, is being talked about as a primary challenger.
Ballard is an ex-Marine logistics officer who ran and defeated Bart Peterson, a 3-term mayor.
Ballard had zero political experience.

However, he has done a great job in running the city and has done well with both big public events like the Super Bowl and the nuts and bolts stuff. He also shows up at every festival and public event and walks through the crowd greeting people and asking how things are going.
