The creeps from the Libby case keep turning up like bad pennies.http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2015/04/17/did-fbi-director-comey-deliberately-mislead-on-isis-recruitment-of-americans-before-mid-term-elections/

Jeff Dobbs

Beasts - saw him just last night at poker. Actually told him about you.

He didn't play though, he had just come from a concert and was snockered.

Which is interesting, because so was I!

I did pocket 300 bucks last night . . . so that was nice.

Buckeye

That is true lyle.

As it becomes more and more obvious just how crappy our economy is, the Fed finds their feet in concrete.

I will be surprised if rates change at all in 2015.

daddy on iPad

Since huckleberry and JEB Bush are both in the news today lets take a quick JOM poll.

If you had to hold your nose and choose between JEB or Huckabee who would you choose?

For me, the Huckster.

Beasts of England

If gas prices hadn't plummeted, we'd be staring down a recession. How long has the discount rate been at or near zero? There's just no traction out there. Maybe the Sixth Annual Summer of Recovery™ will turn it around? Nah.

Buckeye

agree daddy, but I would still puke on my shoes in the voting booth.

Buckeye

When Japan/China/EU quits buying our paper, we are toast.

Course everyone else will already be toast.

Beasts of England

That's like asking if I want to lose a finger or a toe, daddy. So, a toe it is. But not my Sgt. Hulka; one of the others, please.

NKvirusedandback

Daddy-- Jeb for me. Huck is a dope and complete wildcard.

Buckeye

But he plays bass better than Slick plays saxophone.

NKvirusedandback

What's this 'we' Buckeye. Do you need the Free Shyte Uncle Sam redistributes using that paper? I know I don't, and I know I can stop/defer earning to avoid higher income taxes. The Progs have a REAL problem if Uncle Sam's paper can't be sold.

Beasts of England

Anyone here watch Blue Bloods? It's a damned good show. Solid writing and acting. Wahlberg has surprisingly good chops. And I like that they sit down to Sunday dinner and actually say grace(!) on each episode.

Buckeye

Course looks mighty goofy while he is doing it.

Buckeye

No I don't need it Beasts, but not sure if I have enough ammo.

Another JOMer wisely pointed out to me that "enough" may very well NOT be enough.

Old Lurker

Ditto NK at 4:06

Beasts of England

I think that was NK...

Buckeye

Mrs. Buckeye and I usually watch Blue Bloods.

One of the last refuges of family values on network TV.

And you are right, well written.

lyle

Jeb or Huck?

Kill me now.

Beasts of England

When I type 'Huckabee' into my phone it tries to autocorrect to 'Buckwheat'. I blame Steve Jobs.

Jane

I'd vote for Jeb over Huckabee. BTW I think H is going to announce on special report.

Jane

I'm looking for a new series on Netflicks Beast. I can't pull myself away from "Lie to me" but I'm on about the 5th time going thru. Part of the problem is I fall asleep to it, so I often have to watch more than once.

Jane

Gee I should have looked at the link to AOS.

Old Lurker

We like Blue Bloods too.

daddy

Porch,

Had never even heard of the movie Magnolia. I know I was well tuned into our popular culture as a kid and on up thru college, but I think once I got stationed overseas in the Military starting about 1981, I never fully got back into American movie or TV or music culture---nothing like what I did when I was a younger.

I did get back into kids TV and movies when the kids were growing up (Toy Story, Shrek, Jimmy Neutron and SpongeBob), but I am now way out of the loop on so much cultural stuff that I doubt I'll ever get integrated enough to get on Jeopardy.

I'm assuming almost all of us here have probably checked out on big chunks of our Culture as well, n'est pas?

Beasts of England

You should check it out, Jane!

NKvirusedandback

yes... mercifully. I only know about USA Pop Culture through NY Post Page 6 and UK Daily Mail.

Jeff Dobbs

Jane:
I can't pull myself away from "Lie to me"

Flashback....This was back when Obama gave a prime time speech and Fox decided not interrupt programming to cover it.

Obama: Lie To Me

I think it was his 100 days in office speech or something.

Thomas Collins

New England area JOMers may be interested to know that John Dennis is going into rehab to try to get his undue hankering for The Sauce under control.

daddy

I'm considering photoshopping hillary's face on kate's barely-there bikini-clad body

Hit,

Why bother with Photoshop when we have within our grasp the exciting technology to make Hillary Upton a reality!

And in other exciting human news:

Human waste blamed for turning one in 10 of Britain's male clams into females

Personally I think their research is full of shit:)

maryd

Beasts, Blue Bloods is one of the two TV shows I watch; the other is POI. I subscribe to both so I avoid the horror of commercials.

Old Lurker

Words fail...again:

"The federal government’s top labor arbiter may use its regulatory power to force non-union employees in right to work states pay union dues. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) put out a call for legal briefs on Wednesday asking labor law scholars to weigh in on whether unions should have the ability to extract dues payments from non-members. The announcement drew immediate criticism from right to work activists. “It is unfortunately not surprising that the Obama NLRB is now actively working to undermine the 25 state Right to Work laws. Its ‘call for briefs’ signals this NLRB’s intention to reverse

Sue

Huckabee should take Hillary's H with a red arrow pointing right and turn the arrow left.

Jeb. Couldn't vote for Huckabee.

glasater

The problem with photoshopping Kissinger's head on Dietrich's body is that no one would understand whose body Henry's head was on.

When I was teaching photoshop years ago I had a gaggle of older type dudes taking the class so they could 'shop a buddy's head on the body of a gorilla. Ack!

Beasts of England

Everything I need to know about life I learned from O'Rourke, Orwell and JOM. True fact.

Meeting a new victim date for happy hour. I guess I need to shave and put on some of that boy-dog smelly stuff. I'm charming like that. :)

lyle

Eau de cash works the best, Beasts. But then you knew that...

clarice

OL, I'll be astonished if that passes judicial muster.

Ignatz

Hasn't SCOTUS weighed in on non union employees not being liable for union extortions?

Irrelevant to the RICO gang currently occupying the WH but still...mother of mercy.
A little obscure Edward G humor there.

daddy

I don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but...

The problem is, fusing a head with a separate body (including spinal cord, jugular vein etc) could result in a hitherto never experienced level and quality of insanity.
"So she'll become a Democrat?"

Arthur Caplan, director of medical ethics at New York University’s Langone Medical Centre, who described Dr Canavero as "nuts", believes that the bodies of head transplant patients "would end up being overwhelmed with different pathways and chemistry than they are used to and they’d go crazy."

"How's that any different from having to watch CNN in an Airport Terminal?"

A head transplant was performed on a monkey 45 years ago in 1970. It lived, but only for eight days, with the body rejecting the new head and the monkey being left unable to breathe and unable to move because the spinal cord of the head and body were not connected properly.

"Funny, she doesn't look like Joe Biden."

lyle

Top shelf work, daddy. Mystery Science Theater. Great stuff.

narciso

the problem is the NLRB doesn't need 'the stinking badgers' yes I meant to put it that way.

narciso

perfect, daddy.

Rick Ballard

"If you had to hold your nose and choose between JEB or Huckabee who would you choose?"

Hanged or shot is always a difficult choice. Gimme a blindfold and a few cigarettes while I think it over.

cruz revisited that dilemma:

http://thefederalist.com/2015/04/16/ted-cruzs-favorite-simpsons-episodes-may-surprise-you/

Jane

Huckabee's big announcement is that he is going to announce on May 5th.

He is so desperate.

henry

On cinco de quatro? Pandering a bit?

Ignatz

Jeb.
Bland mush is preferable to mush with a surprise in the bottom that might be a raisin or something a little less palatable.

I don't even know what Huckabee believes after all these years of yapping.

Threadkiller

I would have expected Cruz to have best identified with this episode:

Apu is forced to go to Fat Tony to obtain a falseUnited States citizenship, and on Fat Tony's advice, he starts acting American, by doing things like speaking with an American accent.

Ouch!

Extraneus

Looks like Perry has an opportunity to ask about Obama's SAT scores.

narciso

what was the point of that exercise, as with Guthrie, the other day.

daddy

Team Legal Question:

Just saw a courtroom drawing like this of the latest ISIS-American suspect in court today: .

With the exception of not photographing the Jury in order to save them from repercussions, is there still a legitimate reason for not allowing photographers in the Courtroom or is it simply a relic tradition from the past?

narciso

so the 'good samaritan' photographer in charleston, is demanding 10,000 for the use of the video, considering he has hired Team Crump, does that strike you as peculiar?

Jane

I dunno Daddy, it seems to me that photographers in the courtroom, if you are the lawyer, would be distracting as hell. The flash happens, the jury suddenly wonders what they missed. I certainly wouldn't be demanding it, but it's probably been a decade since I tried a case.

narciso

the point is lost on Kirsten, but Krauthammer should have made a better defense here:

Extraneus

What would a new president have to do to rescind the rules Michele O has placed on school lunch ladies?

Would it take an Act of Congress?

Threadkiller

He would have to get between Michelle and the Tamale, Ext.

Jane

Do any Jomers have asthma?

peter

I tried to watch that 1995 video of the Liar in Chief back when he was a stuttering "author." I was only able to get through the first twenty minutes or so before I had to turn it off. What a freaking phony Obama was, and is. So sad that this con artist was elected president of the greatest country on earth twice. He didn't even write the book he is reading from. Thank goodness for Jack Cashill.

Captain Hate

I also watch Blue Bloods and enjoy it quite a bit. Because of it I've gotten hooked on Hawaii 50 which I had no intention of doing since I never watched the original but find this one oddly engaging, particularly when they snuffed out a bunch of relocated terrorists and informed the only survivor of an attack by them that had wiped out his buddies that justice was finally done. I know it's only acting but they found a multiple amputee who doubtlessly was a vet in a very emotional scene at a rehab center.

Threadkiller

But there is always one thing about Obama that isn't a lie, peter.

Miss Marple

Greta is really doing a good job with trying to get that Marine in Iran released. Montel Williams too.

Ignatz

What is that that thing under the moldy roll?
Filet o Gila Monster?

daddy

Thanks Jane,

Sounds reasonable. I know I'd hate to have cameras' recording my every move at work, but if I was to bet, I'd wager that cameras would be installed in my workplace prior to them being installed in yours.

Miss Marple

Honestly, I had some bad cafeteria food in my day, but if I had seen that dead fish on my plate I would have screamed.

henry

They have TV cameras in Milwaukee courts. No cameras in Racine courts.

maryd

MissM - I went to new Catholic schools on Long Island, after WWII - they did not have the money to have a cafeteria, so we packed our own lunches. The nuns demanded that parents provide a vinyl table cloth for each desk, so we kids did not mess up the new desktops.

Captain Hate

It took a long time but BOR finally found somebody dumber than he is:

daddy

so-what-does-it-means-to-be-a-neocon/

Interesting link and discussion, Narciso. Thanks for posting it.

So on the one hand we have everybody on the Left knowing a "NeoCon" when they see one, but can't actually define it, while at the same time they see millions of "Muslims" militantly engaging in the exact stated practices specifically called for in Muhammed's Koran, yet somehow they are incapable of identifying them as "Muslims."

As for Kirsten, I'll give her the same excuse she gave Hillary for lying yesterday---her Staff let her down.

Kirsten yesterday:"this is a Staff problem, because they actually, you always need to be fact-checking everything, especially stories that people have told over and over and over again...I just think her Staff should be checking her on these things, and saying like "Are these things you're saying true?

Kirsten, why didn't your Staff ask you if these things you're saying are true?

peter

I'll bite, threadkiller.

Miss Marple

It's been warm and sunny today and the pears and the vibe rum are in bloom, perfuming the air.

I love spring.

Miss Marple

I hate autocorrect.

Viburnum.

henry

Nothing in bloom yet here Miss M. But I do have the windows open and the winter wheat is greening up nicely.

daddy

on May 5th.

On cinco de quatro? Pandering a bit?

Posted by: henry

I wonder if he swapped to a Mexican Bass the Huck might pick up a few more votes?

Miss Marple

Wasn't that Huckabee "announcement" infuriating?

I bet Bret Baier was really steamed that he had to carry it.

henry

Daddy, if Huck wore that hat the entire campaign, I'd vote for him. ;)

GUS

Imagine Rodhams "staff" approaching her with eyes averted. "Your Majesty, one bit of advice....when the inevitable ad-libbing commences....don't lie"

Ignatz

Re Blue Bloods;
I told my daughter tough guy Danny Reagan was an original New Kid on the Block and she couldn't stop laughing.

daddy

"Your Majesty, one bit of advice....when the inevitable ad-libbing commences....don't lie"

Exactly GUS. Look how great things turned out for Sheryl Atkisson for pointing out Hillary's Bosnian Tarmac lie.

Ignatz

Some stupid little twit says stupid things stupid leftists like to hear; consequently is erroneously deemed not stupid.

GUS

Daddy never confuse the MFM Asskissin, with Sheryl Atkisson.

henry

Good grief Ig. I hope beer resuscitates the brain cells that stupid bint put into comas.

daddy

From Iggy's link at 08:13:

Stenberg ends her video with this powerful question: "What would America be like if we loved black people as much as we love black culture?"

I don't know? Why don't you go ask Michael Jackson that question?

JohnH

Jeb or Huck? How about I just shoot two democrats and leave my fate up to the jury?

Miss Marple

Daddy,

I so appreciate your illustrations. Adds to the enjoyment of reading JOM.

GUS

Watching Geraldo Rivera and Bill O'Reilly bloviate makes me want to VOMIT.

daddy

Here's another big movie star trying to hide his black roots: Ben Affleck demanded PBS program hide his slave-owning ancestor

Ben Affleck insisted on censoring the fact that one of his ancestors owned slaves from PBS show “Finding Your Roots,” the Sony email hack has revealed...

In a hacked Sony email from July 22, 2014, now available on WikiLeaks, the show’s host, Henry Louis Gates Jr., writes to Sony USA chief Michael Lynton asking for advice: “One of our guests has asked us to edit out something about one of his ancestors–the fact that he owned slaves. Now, four or five of our guests this season descend from slave owners, including Ken Burns. We’ve never had anyone ever try to censor or edit what we found. He’s a megastar. What do we do?”

Sounds like another opportunity to play "Blame the Staff."

Miss Marple

I can once again be grateful that I don't live in New Y
Orkney, because as God is my witness, if I accidentally encountered Geraldo Rivera, I would no doubt end up arrested.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I love [some] black people even more than I love black culture:

daddy

Thank you Miss M.

And since you told us you're going to Jail for Taxes, please include a Mug Shot when you have it taken, since I've seen you in that yellow top, and I'm confident you'll look fetching in orange:)

Perhaps now is a good time to run away with dogs. Cheerio!

Captain Hate on the iPad

I would love to provide Mrs Ben Afflicted with the comfort of knowing there were probably no slaveowners in the Hate family chronicles; although maternal grandfather Hate proudly displayed a Sons of the Confederacy banner in his living room on the rare occasion when he was sober enough to focus on it. Oh who am I kidding; the real life Sydney Bristow is as dumb as a plank.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

You could very successfully use my headline from 8:13 to summarize daddy's 8:34.

I encourage everyone to actually read the story.
After pointing out it is dishonest and a violation of PBS rules while considering hiding Massa Afflecks Brown Sugary past, they try to act like it was all above board and hunky dory since they ultimately caved to the snot-nosed, little mega-peckerwood and talked about his civil rights marching mammy instead of his whip totin', midnight prowlin' greatgrandpapa.

To quote our dumbass-in-chief Henry Louis Gates acted stupidly.

Ken Burns being descended from slaveowners gives a schadenboner that might cut diamonds.
