[Guest post by hit and run*]
...now includes the New York Times.
We'll direct you to Ed at Hot Air for some commentary on the piece - spoiler alert, there might be something untoward as it relates to the Clintons. Let's highlight this graph:
Whether the donations played any role in the approval of the uranium deal is unknown. But the episode underscores the special ethical challenges presented by the Clinton Foundation, headed by a former president who relied heavily on foreign cash to accumulate $250 million in assets even as his wife helped steer American foreign policy as secretary of state, presiding over decisions with the potential to benefit the foundation’s donors.
Indeed, that something Clinton-related is described as having "ethical challenges" has moved way beyond dog-bites-man to something more akin to dog-wags-tail.
IT IS ONLY A METAPHOR: I am not saying former President Clinton is chasing tail. Besides, in terms of a metaphor, a dog is usually described as chasing his own tail, not that of others.
THE DOG IS NOW LICKING ITSELF: In what will surely surprise no one, there may be something hinky about the Clinton Foundation's tax returns over the past several years. Not disclosing donations from foreign governments? Typo.
We've gone from Cash for Clunkers to Cash for Clintons. Ugh.

The Clintoon Crime Family Foundation should by itself be enough to capsize the HMS Pantsuit although Slick's insane nattering about ISIS being an NGO gave Georgetown students a semester's worth of casuistry.

It occurs to me that Hillary is trapped in this candidacy. She HAS to run because all of those foreign people who gave money over the last 2 years did so in the expectation that she would be the nest president. Failure to deliver could have very unpleasant consequences.
Plus as long as she is a candidate, no charges will be filed, as Obama does not want to open that can of works and be accused of interfering in a primary (which would probably not bother him but would give many other dems pause).
So, even if she seems incompetent and unenthusiastic, her candidacy will lumber on, soaking up money and time from other possible candidates. The big bucks donors will avoid the other candidates due to fear of the Clintons' well-known talent for revenge.
And her minions, such as David Brock and Lanny Davis, are trapped in the death march with her.
I look forward to the fireworks to come as the election draws closer.

I'm having a hard time reconciling the absurdity of Walker bring wrung out for secret routers and so-called coordination, while Clinton is cash flowing hundreds of millions from foreign governments and it's been greatly ignored.
Posted by: Beasts of England | April 23, 2015 at 10:45 AM
Fertile areas of inquiry would have to include the Obama tax returns, the Obama Library fund,
and the funding for OFA.
Posted by: Miss Marple | April 23, 2015 at 10:49 AM
Beasts, in the court filings on the John Doe it came out the GAB and DAs were using illegal secret routers and private emails to coordinate the political attack on conservatives -- just like the EPA, IRS, Hillary etc. The difference? Walker's campaign was required by law to be off of state resources (the secret router was not secret, the private email accounts were required by law).

"Excuse me, but didn't Obama have to sign off on that uranium deal?"
The funny thing is that Dems use that to defend Hillary, saying she had no real policy influence, it was all Barry in action. Aside from the preposterousness of the notion of Precious actually doing anything but admiring himself in the mirror, how does this argument square with recognizing all of Hillary's "accomplishments."

OL beat me to it, but yes, the quest for a "negative interest rate" seems like a backdoor way to confiscate wealth and penalize those who save for the future, thought it does confer a nice capital gain for those holding fixed rate assets. Which includes the Fed, of course.

Jimmy, the negative interest rate route to confiscation is one thing, sort of a slow boil. But the parallel to Cyrus where with the stroke of a pen they gave haircuts to all accounts in excess of $X is more likely where our Progs will take this. As it says in the link, first you engineer a crisis, then...

JimmyK-- neg are designed to confiscte and distort investments by driving them to places savers don't necessarily want to go, hence the equities bubble. The other thing, as you point out is that neg rates reward the Debtor Class. And who are the biggest Debtors today? Why that would be governments at all levels, up to the Big Kahuna, the USA Fed Gov't. Very convenient.

It - Gus, you really should get a message to Walker's people suggesting he go after the EB-5 'Pilot Program' this summer (its up for renewal in September). This so-called pilot program is responsible for perverting and corrupting an otherwise sensible part of a smart LEGAL immigration program.
Given Walker's recent statements on that issue, this is a great way to demonstrate what a principled pol looks like to the masses.
