Hillary 2015 continues its Eerie Reprise of Nixon 1968 - in each case the nation stared down a seemingly inevitable nominee who inspired the respect but not affection of supporters, the loathing of detractors, and was removed from and at odds with the media.
To further the parallel, it seems as if the two candidates share an ethical compass.
Well - the lack of enthusiasm for Hillary has become comical, and the stories about lack of plutocrat support tiresome.
In screaming contrast to the rock star enthusiasm of Barack 2008, Getting Ready for Hillary seems to be as exciting to Democrats as getting ready for a trip to the dentist. They know they have to do it, they know they will do it eventually, but later will be fine.
Yay YM!

The Hill's advantage is that she is well known enough that she can run as the incumbent. The downside is that leaves her open to being McCarthized by Sanders or O'Malley, or both, in Iowa and NH. I wonder whether mainstream media, in reporting on Iowa and NH, will add O'Malley's and Sanders's votes together in determining whether to pronounce that Hillary has been McCarthyized (and how the superdelegates will view Iowa and NH). Let's say Hillary gets 44 percent of the available Iowa caucus delegates, O'Malley take 33 percent and Sanders takes 23 percent. Then, in NH, Hillary gets 51 percent of the vote, O'Malley take 30 percent and Sanders 19 percent. McCarthyized, or the survivor or two quirky states?
Posted by: Thomas Collins | June 03, 2015 at 12:07 PM
Two important difference between Hillary and Nixon: Nixon came across as a more genuine, warmer character than The Hill does, and Nixon had a better reputation for ethics than The Hill does.
One thing for sure: Hillary's people will not settle on "HILLARY'S THE ONE" for her campaign slogan.
Oh, and a third important difference: Nixon's health was better.
Posted by: Thomas Collins | June 03, 2015 at 12:13 PM
TC-- interesting points, but for the Dem gangster organization, money talks. The Progs will go along with the Clintoistas because O'Malley and Sanders are $$$ dry holes (plus they are old white guys), Bill's $$$ will push Hilligula to the nomination, even if her 'campaign' is a Weekend at Bernie's replay.

I agree, NK. That's why I think Team Hillary's strategy of protecting her is the correct one. If Hillary isn't protected, she will stumble badly. By staying in the bubble, she can rely on Clinton $$$ and the superdelegates.

I'm not entirely sure that she has the respect of her supporters. They will endure her candidacy, but that's about it. A lot of the shine of from the 'historical first' penny has been tarnished. Furthermore, I can't see any moderate or right-leaning female voters jumping on the Hagwagon, because she comes off as abrasive and unlikable to all 57 genders.
Posted by: Beasts of England | June 03, 2015 at 12:21 PM
More trustworthy and knowledgeable, OL. But perhaps Team Hillary can negotiate debate rules that will mask her incompetence.
I can see the Nixon/Hill comparison, although I think it's unfair to Nixon. Nixon had an accomplished political career when he took over the POTUSey. The Hill's major accomplishments will have been picking someone to run her server and logging mucho air miles (oh, I forgot dodging bullets on the tarmac).

Paid-in-advance graft. Ha!
Posted by: Beasts of England | June 03, 2015 at 12:28 PM
What's becoming very clear is this is not Hilligula's show. This is a Bill production. Until recently I always believed he craved power (read BJs) more than $$$. Then I believed he wanted the $$$ more than anything else. Now I am firmly convinced he wants BOTH. He wants to be Putin; autocratic political power (Clinton must look at Obummer and think if he can get away with THAT, Bill can do ANYTHING) plus a $50B tax exempt slush fund for his retirement. He is a dangerous man, far more dangerous than the incompetent buffoonish Obummer.

I cannot get over the fact that Obama is going to give a eulogy at beau Biden's funeral.
I would bet cash money he had met the guy 10 times, tops.
Since he is only giving one of the eulogies,I believe he inserted himself into the Biden funeral in order to get air time for political purposes.
SO, it's not enough that Biden lost a son. The funeral will now be co-opted for political purposes (think the Wellstone Funerally).
I am repulsed, as usual, by the politics of the dems.

Another chief difference that negates the comparison IMO is that Nixon was on the winning ticket in two national elections, was nominated in 1960 as the incumbent VP, and basically won the election, except that it was stolen from him in Chicago and Texas.
Big difference from fat old loser Hill who has never been elected outside a deep blue state and who couldn't even beat the junior senator from Illinois in the 2008 primary (although he cheated, too).

Good Morning!
On the news I see the Boston Cops are having to jump thru the ACLU/NAACP politically correct Media hoops for shooting a Muslim Terrorist of color.
I still find it interesting that not a single mention has been made of the 3 perps who ambushed a cop last week, who was then saved by his police dog. Here's that story again: Police officer 'dragged into the woods to be killed by three men' saved when his K-9 chases after him and sends the attackers running
It got a lot of press at the time, and many stories said a big manhunt was ongoing for the 3 perps, but it surprised me that there was never any info whatever on the race or identifying characteristics of the 3 alleged perps, and far as I can tell from Internet searches there still isn't.

Jenner's performance in the decathlon came at a time when my interest in the UN of sports, never at a high level, was decreasing rapidly and I missed most of what he did. What little I couldn't avoid finding out about him made an impression that he really really liked to be in the public's eye.

When I delivered the eulogy for my father-in-law two years ago I was advised of the following:

* It will be at the start of Mass prior to the Opening Prayer.

FOX's Jerri Willis is calling BS on Koskinen's statement that the thieves are all super intelligent Russian Criminals:
Harris Faulkner: This is exactly what we feared through the professional hackers. This is what they were trying to do. Is she that good, I mean is she like a pro like that?
Jerri Willis: It's not that hard my friend, and I think the moral of the story is if the woman in St Louis Missouri can do it, it's pretty easy to do. You know, John Koskinen the IRS Commissioner, said this week in front of Congress, he said "Look, they're super -sophisticated criminals from Russia, they're out to get us, we can't fight them, they're smarter than us." Look, (Koskinen), this woman who works for you is stealing the money. How hard can it be?

JV Team update:
On FOX Business Jennifer Griffin is listing the weapons we handed over to ISIS when Mosul and Ramadi fell:
2,300 Humvees
40 M-1/A-1 Main Battle Tanks
74,000 Machine Guns
52 Howitzer Mobile Gun Systems
Small Arms and Ammunition
Jennifer Griffin: "Last year the State Department thru it's Foreign Military Sales Program expedited the delivery of 1,000 upgraded armored Humvee's to the Iraqi's and donated 250 Mine Resistant vehicles or MRAPS, worth about a Million Dollars a piece. Last weekend the US delivered 2,000 AT-4 Anti Tank Missiles to Iraq, presumably to destroy the US Armored Humvee's, Strikers, and Abrams Tanks now possessed by ISIS Fighters.
CentCom estimates it's airstrikes have to date destroyed 77 Tanks, 288 Humvees. The cost of the Wat so far against ISIS since last August, 2.44 Billion Dollars, or 8.9 Million Dollars a day. The State Department says it has no plans to review it's Strategy, and plans to expedite more weapons to the Iraqi Government as we speak."

I cannot get over the fact that Obama is going to give a eulogy at beau Biden's funeral.
It is all part of the quid pro quo between the Bidens and the illegal alien President.
Baeu put all the resources of his AG office to wipe Larry Sinclair, and his intimate knowledge of Odummy, off the election cycle map. Obama picked Biden for VP as payment.
Now he is making it clear to Biden that the deal is now buried. Just like all that was buried when he went to Hawaii to see his grandmother off.

daddy, that sounds like the apotheosis of the military - industrial complex, doesn't it?
Uncle Sugar foots the bill all the way round.
Regarding transgender issues, this is an issue of the soul and wiring as well as physically. I have seen it up close.
We have a young friend who is transgender/addicted. She never identified as female and did so as a male. He is a basket case. No one would willingly go there. It wasn't about his mom or his dad or something in his life story. It lies there heavy on his soul and he doesn't know how to deal with it.
Human sexuality is a can of worms even when you are straight. Hormones rage and people do some really stupid stuff in the name of lust. What is done in the name of love can also get complicated. But there is a chasm between the two and it is lust that is the sin.
People like these deserve our compassion. But if they put it on the street as they say, I tune out.
This is very different from the political/libidinal Left's version. People are people and most want to be left the hell alone. The West Hollywood, Folsom Street crowds are the true sodomists.
Society, in order to protect the nuclear family and human values, must have laws that do this. It is to the benefit of all of us. But we must recognize and accept that 2-3% who are wired differently for their individuality .
But the Left are so desperate for votes that they create victimologies and the right doesn't help its own cause with intolerance. I agree with our Pope in this; it's complicated.

Now I'm watching a segment on Cavuto where the segment is that apparently the Administration, via the Deputy Secretary of State has just put out the figure that More than 10,000 ISIS Fighters Have Been Killed In the Last 9 Months, and the Media isn't buying it:
Segment starts with a clip of Reporters at the White House press Briefing :
Reporter Major Garrett: This number seems very large. I don't know how it could be credible. And I'm wondering if you're confident with the Deputy Secretary of State using it on behalf of the Uniteds States Govt, to explain that this is actually working?
Josh Ernest: Well major, the Dept of Defense does conduct, routinely, battle damage assessments, particularly those related to military Air Strikes.
---------------------
Unknown Reporter to harf: Where is that number coming from? And do you have a breakdown on how many would be in Iraq and how many would be ...?
Harf: I don't have a breakdown by country. We have a variety of ways of doing these estimates. I don't have much more detail to share than that.
--------------------
Now we swap to Neil Cavuto and Ric Grenell (Former US Spokesman at the UN)
Cavuto: (Skeptically laughing)---Ric, what do you think?
Grenell: Look, this is by Tony Blinken, who is a political animal. He's worked for Democrats for a long time. He's out front as the deputy Secretary of State while John Kerry's incapacitated. He clearly made a mistake. There is boo way that they are going to be able to credibly prove these numbers.
Cavuto: So 10,000 ISIS Fighters have been killed is sort of like a John Lovetz moment. (Speaking in a John Lovetzs fashion) "I think they had like 1,000, no...it's 10,000, that's the ticket." Ric, do you suspect that they are accurate and that they're trying to combine everything that's been done since the first ISIS Fighter popped up? I'm trying to give them every benefit, of every accurate depth. What do you think?
Grenell: I think whatever number they're going to come up with to show that they are somehow making progress, lets just look at the facts on the ground. They're not winning this. The Obama Administration has frustrated the Allies in the region. Just look at the facts. We saw Ramadi has fallen. Now there is concern that Aleppo, the largest city is Syria, is about to fall to ISIS. This is not something we are winning Neil, we are actually losing. It;s getting worse, no matter how many zero's they want to put on their number.

Cavuto: ISIS is growing exponentially...So lets say it iOS 10,000. They recruit that many now it seems per day. They're everywhere now. They're in virtual control of half of Syria and a 3rd of Iraq, and god knows where else...
Grenell: You it it on the head. We got to point out the fact that even if they can loosely bring in the number to 10,000, the actual number ISIS is recruiting so many more that the number is not looking good for us. The next step is we have to convince the president of the United States to do something because we cannot watch ISIS grow any longer since they are becoming a threat to us.

Both guys then later agreed that it is good that the Press is finally questioning the Administration on their statements that previously were simply accepted without challenged.

10,000 in nine months is ~1,100 per month or about 35 per day. Doesn't sound correct for this phase of the conflict. Not to mention the chronic lying from the fools in this administration.

Thinking about taking Frederick for the surfing, not the music:)
Jack,
IIRC, the only member of the band actually able to surf was Dennis, but this being a Hollywood production truth probably won't matter:) Brian didn't surf, nor did brother Carl. However, their music was great and I think John's Creek Bill will back me up on that as we are both big fans of Bryan's output, lucid or crazy.

Speaking of ISIS & all the barbaric Islamic nutcases....wasn't dressing up like women & having their picture taken (while holding guns) a popular thing to do?
I remember seeing pics of "the guys" with flowers & makeup & machine guns. Bruce is a couple years behind the curve.

I look at it this way:
We have only 11 Million Illegal aliens in the country and that's all we've had in the country for the last 20 years---that number never changes.
The Measured Temp of the Earth has not changed in 18 years but the world is getting Hotter every year even tho' the number never changes.
We all know
.1 percent of Americans, 2 percent of Americans,7 percent of Americans are Gay.And that we all saved $2,500 on our Health Care Costs since
14 Million Americans, 11 Million Americans, 7 Million Americanssome Americans signed up for ObamaCare on it's first day.So with all those numbers nice and solid, I am confident we killed 10,000 ISIS fighters.
