Come on, people! Comment! Comment! Comment!

We have a job to do!

All the News that Rodham Approves:

The IRS used to have a very useful rule called income averaging where a gush of one time income could be spread out over a longer time period.

Could we have thread averaging?

" Turkey is more worried about ISIS than the rise of a free Kurdish state in the failed areas of Syria and Iraq."

Wish we could say the same about Obama.

Obama is more worried about...

Obama Laments Guns: "The One Area I Have Been Stymied," "Even In The Face Of Repeated Mass Killings"

Hillary is more worried about State Dept IGs catching her using private email for classified info.

“I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material,” Mrs. Clinton told reporters in March.

Obama uses that bit of agitprop "Gun Violence" that Soros and Co. Are pushing, as claims that there are "tens of thousand".

it is .

That is all they ever do: lie, lie lie.

Then-U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton used her personal email account to send at least four emails that contained classified information

Well, yeah, it was at least four. In reality, it's probably several thousand. Most every correspondence she'd make as SoS would be sensitive to some degree. Can't do your job otherwise.

And our adversaries grabbed every last one of them. Nothing like real-time intel.

It was so odd at that rally yesterday...
Seeing that old leftist outside the White house with her permanent "protest" against nukes

‘Flat-out lie’: Cruz calls McConnell a liar on Senate floor

It is rare for a senator to launch such a heated attack on the floor. Senate rules say, "No Senator in debate shall, directly or indirectly, by any form of words impute to another Senator or to other Senators any conduct or motive unworthy or unbecoming a Senator."
Jack is Back!

You mean like McRino calling Pete Domenici an "asshole" on the Senate floor?

all these new threads ... afternoon all.

Frau Edith Steingehirn

Ext - Too bad there is no Senate rule against lying about those *outside* the chambers: Mitt Romney and Rush Limbaugh as two examples.

Cruz could have had his shoe slip off and fly at McConnell.

iirc someone had parsed the original Clinton denials about "classified material" on her private email set up.

actually wouldn't put it past Zero and his regime to start a criminal investigation to tie a few more anchors around Broom 3.

Miss Marple

Frau, Good analogy!

And you know what happens on Pleasure Island, dono't you? They all turn into DONKEYS!!!

Disney was a prophet, I swear.

What conduct could possibly be considered unbecoming of a Senator?

Cispigmented Heteronormative Microagressive Ignatz

That Cruz video is excellent in Ex's 2:20 link.
God bless him and he's got my vote.
I'll settle for Walker but prefer Cruz.

Cispigmented Heteronormative Microagressive Ignatz

Sorry, here's the link with the video of his floor speech.

Good Morning.

The cute Trish Regan
on FOX Business just told us why Hillary's Plan to raise the Capital Gains Tax won't work:

Regan: Moments ago we heard from Hillary Clinton and her plan to double the rate people pay on Capital Gains. The problem with this plan is that anytime you try to increase taxes on the formation of Capital, you hurt Capital formation. You can think about it kind of like this. If I get a hundred bucks to invest in the Stock Market and I get taxed at 40% instead of 20%, then you know what, I'm going to need a whole lot more money on my investment made in order to be whole. The entire reason we tax Capital at a lesser rate is because we want people like you and me out there to be taking chances to invest in other people's ventures. By lending them money, by buying stock in someone's company, we're taking on risk. So if you tax more, people won't be willing to take on as much risk. It's pretty simple, Econ 101, makes you wonder whether Hillary Clinton took any Economics classes there at Wellsley . Maybe they were Keynesian classes?

Jeff Dobbs

Trump on the "good" illegal immigrants:

"Then the other ones -- and I'm a very big believer in merit system, I have to tell you -- because some of these people have been here, they've done a good job. You know, in some cases sadly they've been living under the shadows, etc. etc. We have to do something. So whether it's merit or whether it's whatever, But I'm a believer in the merit system. If somebody's been outstanding, we try and work something out."

Cispigmented Heteronormative Microagressive Ignatz

When you talk like that you can pretty much claim you believe in anything.

Rick Ballard

It's so tough to say "I will faithfully execute the laws of the United States to the best of my ability".

He's as full of the frabjous joy of the jabberwock as anyone else. It's all carney barker gibberish.

Got your ticket to the Egress yet?

General Jack Keane on FOX Business says he finds great credibility in the report that Britain's MI5 says ISIS is planning on using drones to attack and bomb public venues in Britain.

Makes sense to me. I've noticed that Laser attacks against airplanes have been going up by quantum leap factors in the last few days, so it's no surprise whatever that with this new inexpensive drone technology it's going to be put to nefarious purposes quickly. That cool Billion Dollars stolen by ISIS from Mosul banks can sure pay for a lot of experiments with explosive laden drones.

A poll I actually believe---FOX reports that Republicans "Favorability View of the Republican Party" is in the toilet---32%.

Cispigmented Heteronormative Microagressive Ignatz

The GOP does some things moderately and some things conservatively.
They are somewhat unpopular.
Their political enemies tell them they are unpopular because of the conservative things.
They believe them and do more moderate things.
They become more unpopular.
Their political enemies tell them to double down on the mush.
They become more unpopular.
Who do they turn to for advice once more?
Their political enemies.
Has anyone trademarked The Stupid Party?

SCOTUS may need to interpret that, Rick.

I really hate it when I lay down a withering hail of fire right after somebody cheerfully comments "new thread!" while I was composing my killer.
It's "jerk store" all over again. :(

Thanks Ext for the link to Cruz's link calling Mitch McConnell a liar:

I liked this part---

Cruz: "I stood up and I asked the Majority Leader, very directly, "What was the Deal that was just cut on TPA, and was there a deal on the Export/Import Bank?" It was a direct question. I asked the majority Leader in front of all of the Republican Senators. The Majority Leader was visibly angry with me that I would ask such a question. And the Majority leader looked at me and said:

"There is no Deal
There is no Deal
There is no Deal."

Like St Peter he repeated it 3 times.

And that's simply Cruz's starting comments about Mitch McConnell. "F*ck you. War."

Sounds like Cruz has had enough of business as usual in the Senate.

From Carly's team: "Clarice,
I'll be quick: PPP just released their latest poll for the GOP nomination--and we're up to 7th place.
That means Carly's tied with top-tier candidates like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz--even though our campaign doesn't have anything close to their financial resources or name-recognition just yet."

This is just too, too good:

Like St Peter he repeated it 3 times.

Sounds like Cruz has had enough of business as usual in the Senate.

It's a good time to buy stock in fainting couch companies.

Thanks for that piece of good news about Carly.

It will be a big plus for her to be in the debates.

oil broke $50 as well ... is a recession on the horizon?

Miss Marple

It will be a big plus for all of us to have someone who actually answers questions, plus she will be a nice contrast to Trump's bluster. Plus she is fearless.

That debate is probably going to rival the Super Bowl in ratings.

" PPP's newest national poll finds that Donald Trump is likely facing at least some fallout from his comments about John McCain over the weekend. Nevertheless we do find him narrowly leading the national field in our survey, which went into the field on Monday. Trump gets 19% to 17% for Scott Walker, 12% for Jeb Bush, 10% for Ben Carson and Marco Rubio, 8% for Mike Huckabee, 4% each for Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, and Rand Paul, 3% each for Chris Christie and John Kasich, 1% for Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum, and less than 1% each for Jim Gilmore, Lindsey Graham, and George Pataki."

Remember, this is on the Senate Floor and Ted's speaking about Mitch McConnell.

Cruz: Madam President, it saddens me to say this. I sat in my office, I told my staff, the Majority Leader looked me in the eye, and looked 54 Republicans in the eye, I did not believe he would tell a flat out lie. And I voted based on those assurances that he made to each and every one of us. What we just saw today was an absolute demonstration that not only what he told every republican Senator, but what he told the Press over and over and over again, was a simple lie...

Madam President, if he was telling us the truth when he told us there was no deal why would he do what he just did?...

Well, we now know, that when the Majority Leader looks us in the eyes and makes an explicit commitment, that he is willing to say things that he knows are false. That has consequences for how this body operates.

If you or I cannot trust what the majority leader tells us, that will have consequences on other Legislation as well, on how this institution operates.

There are a host of amendments that the American people are focused on, things like defunding Planned Parenthood, after the gruesome video. The Majority Leader doesn't want to vote on that. That's actually something the American people are focused on...

Captain Hate

Am I the only person who doesn't recognize the name "Jim Gilmore"? Ben Carson is polling pretty well for somebody who is probably less of a politician than Trump. Jindal, Perry and Santorum should be pretty unhappy that they're trailing Fat RINO Bastard and God Tells Me How to Vote. The level of Huckabee support never fails to surprise me.

Miss Marple

This is a recap of her interviews and statements, with video if you missed any of it.

Captain Hate,

Jim Gilmore is a former Virginia governor. Bald guy. You would recognize him if you saw him.

"Plus she is fearless"

Big reason why I like her, Cruz, and Walker.

I like that about Trump.

Miss Marple

Oh, here is Gilmore on Cavuto.

Le Donald needs to resonate some understanding re the financial crisis, perhaps some of the huntress's advisors

That last was from right scoop, Gilmore also chaired a commission warning about terrorism in the late 1990s whose recommendYions went unheeded.

Captain Hate

I'm sure I've seen him before per Miss Marple but maybe I'm having a senior moment. Or maybe after Cuccinelli lost to McAwful I mentally purged all Virginians except for Bratt and Janet and rich.

OT - Speaking of women from Hay-ull, we interrupt this thread for the 3-minute hate of Hanoi Jane who is quoted by Insty:

“If you understood what communism was, you would hope, you would pray on your knees that we would some day become communist. . . . I, a socialist, think that we should strive toward a socialist society, all the way to communism.”

Pray on your knees? Get it? This was before Ted Turner and Jane's discovering her Christian persona.

Surely Trump's real estate holdings took a hit after millions of bad risk people to whom the gov't forced banks to loan money defaulted. It's hard to believe he thinks the bankers were at fault.

I would have thought he'd be front and center on the CRA. Maybe he made money off of the deal.

I wonder if the MSM will gleefully attack Cruz for gauchely going outside standard Senate protocol in attacking McConnell?

I hope so, as in the long run I think it will help Cruz.

I'm having a tough time predicting whether on the panel later today George Will will term it "unbecoming," or "unseemly."

What do you guys think?

Get your vote in quick for:

(A) Unbecoming
(B) Unseemly

Why should demand for oil grow when the world population of those capable of producing a discernible surplus as a percentage of total population has peaked and begun to drop? I agree completely that the NBR/Census/BLS divisions of minitru will not discern a recession until after inauguration of a Republican President.

The situation in China is compounding the decline in demand with hot money sprinting for anything vaguely resembling an exit. The Central Pimps need to print faster in order to sustain the illusion of a sky filled with Rainbow Unicorns forever.

Top comment at Instapundit on Cruz's speech:

I listened to the entire speech and he tore the GOPe a new one. He mentions the how nothing changed in 2010 and 2014. The leadership lies to the members to their faces constantly and always does what's best for the CoC and never the people that vote for them because of campaign contributions.

Then wraps it all up nicely by noting that the first thing the Repubs did after winning in 2014 was pass the CROmnibus pork, then fund Obamacare, pass TPA/TPP, ram through Loretta Lynch and now they're going to pass Ex-Im because that's what the CoC has ordered up. And then he guts McConnell by simply asking what difference would there be if Harry Reid were still running the show.

Somebody in Cruz's position had to say it. All of it was true. He's just dismantled the carneys in DC. He burned a lot of bridges today and I've got his back from here on out.

I like Walker too but Ted Cruz just got my vote.

I agree 100%. (at the moment:)

Sure daddy, but evening news or NYT will show crickets on radar over Texas.

You left out passing the ESEA Rewrite while lying about what it does and does not do so that parents and taxpayers do not go into lynching mode over the summer recess.

The US Senate should not be authorizing the psychological abuse of our children so that the CoC can make sure no one comes up with an unauthorized great invention.

McConnell to fast-track bill to defund Planned Parenthood

The move comes after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slammed McConnell during a blistering floor speech earlier Friday, suggesting the Kentucky Republican wanted to dodge a vote on defunding Planned Parenthood.

It is no surprise to me, either, daddy. Mark Steyn said his vet neighbor loathes McCain and is gung-ho for Trump.

I haven't talked to anyone in my family except my 2 sisters. Well, my daughter, but she is a liberal so of course she doesn't like Trump.

My sisters are interested. The other sister is a reflecive dem so she is going to support Hillary. She even bought her biography! My brothr is a union guy so I know he's been brainwashed to support whoever the dem candidate is.
