Megyn Kelly: Why Is Obama Ignoring Murder Of Katie Steinle?
Oh, please. This doesn't advance any Obama narrative, not even the war on women. That said:
MEGYN KELLY: Breaking tonight, the young woman gunned down by an illegal immigrant in San Francisco was just laid to rest, surrounded by friends and family. It does not appear at this hour that anyone from the Obama administration was in attendance. Welcome to The Kelly File, I'm Megyn Kelly. Funeral services were held this evening for 32-year-old Kathryn "Katie" Steinle.
Her loved ones remembering her as an avid traveller who loved connecting with people until her life was cut short a week ago. That's when Kate was shot and killed while in her father's arms. Police say by this man, Francisco Sanchez, an illegal immigrant who had been deported five times from this country and had rapped up a string of felonies while in the U.S.
The San Francisco sheriff had Sanchez in custody as recently as April but released him pursuant to San Francisco's "sanctuary city" policy where they have rules against handing over anyone to the feds who might be deported. This sheriff, himself a convicted criminal, says he stands by the city's policy.
Kate's murder has since exploded into a national debate on illegal immigrants, sanctuary cities and crime. With the White House ducking the issue of its own acquiescence in these cities' decision to flout the federal immigration laws which were duly enacted. When asked repeatedly this week to speak to this case, White House spokesman Josh Earnest declined to weigh in other than to refer folks to the Department of Homeland Security.
A stark contrast to what we saw after Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson. A man we know was attacking a police officer at the time of his death. His funeral saw three Obama officials in attendance, his death drew comments from President Obama personally and his administration also sent in the DOJ and 40 FBI agents dispatched to Missouri after Michael Brown was killed. Where is the swarm of agents in San Francisco?
Then there was Freddie Gray in Baltimore, a repeat drug offender who was killed in police custody. Here again his funeral was attended by three Obama administration officials and again the President spoke personally to Freddie Gray's death. And again sent the DOJ in to investigate. When Trayvon Martin was killed in Florida, the president spoke to his death which was later ruled to be in self-defense. But Katie Steinle, nothing. No comments, no swarm of FBI agents, no DOJ investigation, nothing. Why?
Why indeed.
Demonstrators Gear Up For Presidential Candidate’s L.A. Visit With Donald Trump Piñatas

Nothing speaks to how innocent and peaceful the assimilated immigrants are like a good ol' fashioned south-of-the border public effigy beating of a prominent American citizen.

Why?
Because the President of the United States is a hateful, hate-filled, racist jackass who despises the majority of the people whom he "leads."
I would donate to any R candidate who came out and said that, directly and openly.

With another deadline on the Iran deal passed, under the Corker bill, Congress now has 60 days to figure out what a horrible deal it will be.
China, or somebody, has the ability to blackmail millions of Americans. Think if its economy gets worse, it won't sell some of this data to rogue regimes in exchange for cash.
Obama's ambitious program to use HUD money to fundamentally transform all suburbs that do not meet the administration's ideal diversity levels has been enacted with dead silence from the press.

Why Is Obama Ignoring Murder Of Katie Steinle?
Katie was probably a republican.
And like SC the murder was a failure of the federal government to do all those things they are supposed to do - with Obama's permission.
Plus it's summer. Obama has other things to do.

In Boston, even Frederick asked, why isn't this a time for another Declaration of Indepedence, if all this stuff from Obama is hurting the country. I was amazed he had such ideas of revolution but I think he may be on to something. The young lead the way.

Jack,
I figure I will just plan on a hard winter and planting a garden in the spring. I am going to begin hoarding canned goods and buy a shotgun.
Can't move to a more secure area, so that's the best I can do.
Daughter wants to move to downtown (!!!) and will not listen to why it's not a good idea. Grandkids mother thinks I am nutso about this stuff. Son and his girlfriend and their kids are not paying attention.
And my doctor can't understand why my blood pressure stays on the high side.
DOOM.

I guess they're going to offer us lifetime identity theft protection..not that that will help our family members who get kidnapped by a foreign government in order to put pressure on us to turn spy.

that was me. I had mentioned that it was possible he hired him for that reason, and Rick added to it something to the effect of "if you can't shoot a rabid dog keeping him in your kennel isn't a bad choice". My thought is that he can keep him a. on the payroll working on attack plans for the different dem candidates (keeps him busy) and b. set him up in an office far away from the DC-NYC media market (which is a trick Dems have used quite well in national campaigns).
Better to have him in the tent pissing out then outside the tent pissing in.
Another passing thought is that with the election ... good grief ... 486 days away, maybe Dayspring wants to work with the Walker campaign for whatever reason. This dead horse is ready for the Elmers factory.
Theo-
Noticed your comment also. On the narrow issue of immigration, with Trump hitting a nerve and catching a wave, is that PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF BEING LIED TO BY THE INCOMPETENTS IN WASHINGTON.
More importantly immigration touches on national security, economics, public health, crime, and quality of life. People have been lied to about it for 30 years (like how impossible it is to build a fence ... the Romans built Hadrian's Wall in 6 years about MM years ago to keep out riff-raff... or that "diversity" makes us stronger)-how many more murders, felony DUIs, overcrowded schools with non English speaking kids who are not even vaccinated and all of that putting ever more pressure on scarce local resources are people supposed to tolerate (and for our rulers it isn't so much tolerance, but acceptance, they are after). DC is turning the rest of the US into the 3rd World's dumping ground and they get bitchy when people start complaining about it.
Our betters are denying the obvious-take for example some of "the children" that came across the border last year-young men with beer guts and need of a shave claiming to be 16 year olds. And the administration and the whole of the federal bureaucracy played along as they dumped them in the dead of night in unsuspecting communities all over the country. And these so called law abiding, hard working people, given summons to appear before an immigration judge some 90ish percent didn't bother to show, nor would it matter if they did show, because they wouldn't be removed anyway-even with the outlandish lies they were telling.
And when people in those communities used as dumping grounds started to complain about it they were called racists and told to pipe down.
I linked last night Codevilla's brilliant Spectator piece from 2010 which lays out where we are-as relevant today as it was 5 years ago-more so by my reading. It says better what Ace was trying to tease out in his big think piece the other day.
>>>In short, the ruling class has a party, the Democrats. But some two-thirds of Americans -- a few Democratic voters, most Republican voters, and all independents -- lack a vehicle in electoral politics.
Sooner or later, well or badly, that majority's demand for representation will be filled.<<<

whorelady article about the Donald's appearance in Phoenix tomorrow:The planned speech is already attracting a storm of attention. Even as city leaders have asked Mr. Trump “to stage his hate-filled circus” elsewhere, ticket requests have been so high the campaign has moved the speech from the swank Arizona Biltmore hotel to the convention center downtown.
“Mr. Trump certainly has a First Amendment right to bluster as much as he wants, and even to pander to our worst instincts in a sad attempt to win votes at the expense of hard-working, honorable, law-abiding Latinos,” Daniel Valenzuela, a Democratic councilman and the city’s vice mayor, said on Thursday. “However, we should draw the line at allowing him to use the Phoenix Convention Center — a public building funded by all of our taxpayers’ dollars.”

nextcube, when you do get it I want you to notice the clever wording they use. Your info "may" have been compromised. That info "may" include ssn, tax info, etc. Then it goes into a Publisher's Clearing House mode with your own personalised winning code.
You are then directed to enter that code and your personal information into this site "http://www.csid.com/opm" which sometimes comes back with "too many server redirects." I RECOMMEND NO ONE GOES THERE TO BROWSE AROUND.
Doesn't this whole mess at least give an affected individual the legal standing to find out what exactly has been compromised?

most likely not. Privacy Act (and article via the WaPo) said it was the most likely route but OPM is sticking to their guns it was a hack (criminal activity) and not an inside job (willful disclosure). Coming up with a cute neologism and modified limited hangouts points to it being a multi year, multi person inside job.

Why Is Obama Ignoring Murder Of Katie Steinle?
Perhaps for the same reason he has ignored the National Epidemic of Child Abuse and Neglect that often causes children like Michael Graham-Singleton, teen son of Baltimore mom Toya Graham, to join his school mates in attempting to cause grave harm to police officers charged with protecting peaceful people from the angers and frustrations of abused children who develop into angry, frustrated, unpredictable teens and adults.

The problem isn't latino vs. whites....the problem is citizens of other countries vs. Americans & our federal government refusing to do its job.
All Americans - no matter their race or heritage - want safe, prosperous communities. Why should ANY American have to put up with the lawlessness & the cost of supporting citizens of other countries??
The bad guy in this mess is the federal government.
I don't blame the citizens of other countries for trying to come here.
And the "bad guy" sure isn't regular American citizens.
It is the feds. that have refused to do their damn job. It is the feds. that don't send the illegals back to their home country IMMEDIATELY. It is the State Dept. that refuses to penalize countries that won't take their citizens back.

One more example of America turning into a 3rd world nation - http://libertyunyielding.com/2015/07/10/memphis-and-the-inconvenient-dead-were-all-snarling-jihadis-now/
"Trying to wreak vengeance on the past, by desecrating or erasing the memory of the dead, is a self-perpetuating pathology that America has been blessedly free from for hundreds of years. Its arrival on our shores is an unmitigated horror. We do not want to turn into this kind of a people. The thirst for such vengeance can never be satisfied, and it always sets up a counter-reaction that keeps the back-and-forth going for generations and generations."

Ready for the counter-reaction.

A few things on the OPM leak. First, the danger is not primarily to individuals who've had data compromised. The main risk is handing a fully searchable computer listing of sensitive national security positions (arranged by billet description, clearance required and type of investigation), along with descriptions of possible vulnerabilities. The ramifications to counterespionage ought to be obvious. If the Chinese (presuming they are the ones who hacked it) want to spy on a particular program, they have a ready-made diagram on how to proceed.
Second, giving the Chinese grief about spying on us is a bit silly. Of course they spy on us (and yes, we spy on them, too). I've heard reporters claim they had no duty to protect government secrets--that was the government's job, and if the reporter had it, it was no longer a secret. Might argue that one a bit, but if the reporter is a Chinese spy instead, it's pretty obvious where the fault lies. I'm hardly against stealing more of their secrets, but not in retaliation . . . more because we should steal them anyway.
Lastly, I think we're arguing about the wrong security measures. Encrypting the files might have made them impossible for the common hacker to read, but a government can almost certainly break any code in time. What brainwave decided to put a database of all SF-86s on line? (And then hire foreign nationals for site security [groan].) Whatever convenience is gained, the vulnerability ought to be obvious, and it's hardly worthwhile.

Thanks to henry for the stories about the fascists of the GAB in WI.
Thanks to rich@gmu for that Codevilla article from 2010.

Thanks to all of you, again !
