Putin rises to the top of Obama's "Who else can I surrender to?"list:
Obama to meet with Putin on Monday
The meeting marks a decision by the administration to engage the Russians despite differences over Ukraine.
Putin's short national nightmare is over:
Obama’s decision to meet with Putin at the U.N.’s annual gathering of world leaders ends a vigorous internal administration debate over the best way to deal with a Russian president who has grown increasingly hostile to the west and whom Obama views with disdain.
Obama ceased communicating with Putin earlier this year as part of a strategy of diplomatic isolation. Obama also concluded that his talks with Putin were not leading to progress in convincing Putin to end his support for pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine or reverse his March 2014 annexation of Crimea.
Left unmentioned is Putin's annoying habit of bursting out laughing and asking Obama to tell him again, please, just what is this "community organizing?".
The Times editors offered this insight last week:
Mr. Obama considers Mr. Putin a thug, his advisers say, and Mr. Putin considers Mr. Obama weak.
Both right!
AND SPEAKING OF DOCTORED INTELLIGENCE...
The NY Times reports that the lead analyst claiming that Team Obama is insisting on rosy reports fro Iraq is the same guy who back in 2005 denounced Bush's "plan" for occupying Iraq. For you skeptics out there:
“This core group of Iraq analysts have been doing this for a long time,” said Stephen Robb, a retired Marine colonel and a former head of the Centcom Joint Intelligence Center. “If they say there’s smoke, start looking for a firehouse.”
And for the "More things change..." files consider this: Bush, per the left, took us to war on the basis of phony intelligence. Now Obama is keeping us out of an expanded war on the basis of phony intelligence. Blessed are the peacemakers.

Posted by: henry | September 25, 2015 at 09:40 AM
WASHINGTON — Speaker John A. Boehner will resign from Congress and give up his House seat at the end of October, according to aides in his office.
Mr. Boehner was under extreme pressure from the right wing of his conference over whether or not to defund Planned Parenthood in a bill to keep the government open.

Here's the NYT spin (and maybe the FBI's) on classified e-mails:
The FBI is trying "to determine whether aides to Mrs. Clinton mishandled delicate national security information when they communicated with their boss."
So the fact that she had her own personal e-mail address that she gave her subordinates, rather than the secure government e-mail is just a quibble, I guess. The buck stops with her aides.

Boehner was such a supporter of the tea party movement at the beginning. He'd come speak at small rallies. He's always been pro-life too.

YOU WON’T HAVE JOHN BOEHNER TO KICK AROUND ANYMORE: Boehner Will Resign From Congress. WaPo on Jeb's response to a SC town hall question yesterday:
"Look around this room," a man told Bush, who spoke to a mostly white crowd. "How many black faces do you see? How are you going to include them and get them to vote for you?" asked the man, who was white.
Bush pointed to his record on school choice and said that if Republicans could double their share of the black vote, they would win the swing states of Ohio and Virginia.
"Our message is one of hope and aspiration," he said at the East Cooper Republican Women’s Club annual Shrimp Dinner. "It isn't one of division and get in line and we'll take care of you with free stuff. Our message is one that is uplifting -- that says you can achieve earned success."
Reaction from blacks has not been kind.

McCarthy was elected by the House Republicans. From what I've read, he's a great networker, and glad-hander, which is how he has risen so quickly. My high schooler has apparently decided to skip her high school graduation. Part of it is nager over the refusal for 4 years to teach anything while married teachers have affairs with other teachers and get pregnant while all still teaching and teachers having affairs with students and no one stopping it.
Apparently the final straw was the graduation gown rental charge of $150. She is guessing a big part of that is going in someone's pocket. It was $50 4 years ago at her sibling's graduation and they kept gown.
