Obama on 60 Minutes:

Steve Kroft: Did you know about Hillary Clinton's use of private email server--

President Barack Obama: No.

Steve Kroft: --while she was Secretary of State?

President Barack Obama: No.

Steve Kroft: Do you think it posed a national security problem?

President Barack Obama: I don't think it posed a national security problem.
[...]
Steve Kroft: This administration has prosecuted people for having classified material on their private computers.

President Barack Obama: Well, I-- there's no doubt that there had been breaches, and these are all a matter of degree. We don't get an impression that here there was purposely efforts-- on-- in-- to hide something or to SQUIRREL! away information. But again, I'm gonna leave it to--

This thread is lame.

Miss Marple 2

henry,

Is that "Doom" in response to something particular or just a general commentary on the state of the world as currently assemble?

henry

MissM. likelihood Hillary and cohort will avoid jail even without an Obama pardon, plus clearing the way for Hillary of SloJo as next President.

Miss Marple 2

henry,

Should that Doom come to pass I am going into Resistance mode. I know bazillions of ways to cope due to my extensive acquaintance ship with hillbilly types from the auction, plus having grown up poor in the age before fast food and cable TV.

I shall disappear from the economic rolls.

Just a fleshwound dave.

That was a good interview. Kroft challenged Obama frequently. I think the key phrase is "purposely efforts". Obama is defending The Hill by using a criminal defense lawyer's standards.

There is something about the title of this thread.

ANOTHER AWKWARD HILLARY MOMENT

I would proffer that there is no other kind of Hillary moment.

Speaking of awkward Clinton moments...

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/10/11/video-man-asks-chelsea-clinton-whether-bill-clinton-preys-young-girls/

Chelsea Clinton was confronted at a book signing with a question about her father’s alleged marital infidelity.

Appearing at an Austin, Texas book signing Friday to promote her children’s book “It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going,” Clinton was caught off guard by camera-toting conservative activist Robert Morrow.

“I am so proud to be my parents’ daughter,” Clinton said after Morrow asked about longstanding but unconfirmed rumors that Chelsea was the offspring of an affair between her mother and her mother’s onetime law partner Webster Hubbell.

Morrow then asked whether Clinton’s father targets young girls for sex.

“I would say my book is really resonating with kids,” Clinton replied. “I was at the Ann Richards School earlier today and I’m so grateful that it’s resonating to the young girls and the young boys that I’ve been talking to across the country.”

peter

Chelsea is a big zero, but I don't think that was a fair question. She didn't choose her father. I wish she would just go back inside her ten million dollar condo and shut her pie hole, but that was beyond the pale, IMHO

I agree with Peter that in that setting the question was off limits. But if she speaks on behalf of her father as such a wonderful human being and so sensitive to women's issues, for example, the question would be appropriate. Like in a courtroom where a question is not allowed until the witness opens the door by making some assertion.

I think maybe kiwi broke her paw. She was in the grass, and apparently got bitten by something, leaped into the air and now can't walk on one of her front legs. Chelsea is a public figure. By choice. She's traded the name of her mother and father for fame and fortune. Nothing is off limits. If she doesn't like it, she can answer the occasional awkward question or pack it in. She deserves neither sympathy nor quarter.

Someone who deserves a lot of sympathy is the widow of Houston area Deputy Goforth, recently killed while returning to his car after paying for gas. Not only did one of the witnesses to his death turn out to be a woman who claims to have been in a 15 mo. romantic relationship with Goforth, but now the lead investigator in the case has been removed from duty for becoming romantically involved with her too.

1. A presidential candidate may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A presidential candidate must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A presidential candidate must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.

Miss Marple 2

Wow, Deb! Did that woman buy one of those love potions they hawk on eBay or something?

In case you guys want some good news: I was walking Teddy at the park last evening when the owner of Lincoln, a young lab mix who played often with him, told me that he'd been out of town on the previous day and Linc slipped off the collar of whoever was walking him, ran in the road and was struck by a car and took off from there. We searched all around the park, particularly off the trails, but couldn't find him. Since a day had passed my optimism was at a very low ebb. Fortunately a neighborhood bulletin board had the news this morning that he'd been found, taken to the vet's and given a positive bill of health.

daddy

Good Morning!

General Jack Keane was just on FOX giving pretty much the exact same comments about Obama/Putin and the Middle East mess that I transcribed 2 days back from his interview on Kudlow's radio Show.

Good. It directly goes after Obama's idiotic comments on the 60 Minutes Interview. Nice to see Keane getting an opportunity to give his ideas to a larger audience.

And in the process he is able to shoot down the Leftist talking point nonsense about "ISIS not having an Air Force so it's stupid to have no fly zones," and also shooting down the meme that "the Right's only alternative is to go to War and bomb, bomb, bomb."

rse

It's just their tragic environment, henry.

I almost laughed out loud last Friday when the very official who had just hyped having to teach parents to talk to their babies, then began to complain about the lack of proportionality in either the Gifted or the suspension rates.

Never at any point was bad personal behavior given as a reason for a problem.

I just got back from buying Chik-fil-A for granddaughters and myself. Long past the lunch hour at 1:15 they still had a line.

BUT, they had a girl taking orders on an iPad along the line, gave you your total so you could be ready.

Got the complete large order in under 5 minutes, and it was TOTALLY correct, including the no pickles on 2 sandwiches, marked with "no pickle" stickers.

Plus they were friendly and polite.

I would buy stock in that company if it ever went public.

rse

It won't MM and it has a nice profit-sharing arrangement with the managers of each location so they have an incentive to make sure it is well run.

The General Counsel and several other of their lawyers went to law school with me. We ended talking about corporate cultures at my 30th law school reunion.

Jane, is it a front leg or back leg? Yorkies are prone to ligament damage in their back legs (one of ours tore a ligament jumping off the sofa), so if it is a back leg, you might want to see the vet promptly.

Retired General Jack Keane now on FOX Business with the cute Trish Regan, again dealing with the President's comments and contrasting that with reality. Current topic is the Iranian's Deal breaking test-firing today of a new long range Ballistic Missile.

Keane: ...Putin is doing this because of this simple calculation. He knows that President Obama, and believe me Putin is inside Obama's head, he knows that President Obama fears escalation, and fears confrontation, and as a result of that will not take on retaliation as a result of that. So he's counted on that and so far that calculation is accurate. Putin is pounding , pounding our Moderate Rebels who we have armed and trained, the CIA did, and that is his first priority target, and we're doing nothing.
------------------------------

Amazing that later today we will witness the State Department spokesfools out there giving excuses for why the Iranians may not have violated the Iranian Agreement, because our side is so cowed that we will now provide the excuses for them.

FOX: "The U.S. military airdropped 50 tons of small arms ammo and grenades in northern Syria on Sunday, a senior defense official told Fox News, representing the Pentagon's shift from training rebel fighters to equipping them.
Coming just two days after the Defense Department announced it was effectively ending its current training program, the airdrop delivery was made Sunday by four C-17 transport aircraft. The 112 pallets contained ammunition for M-16s and AK-47s."

No weapons for the Kurds though, lest we offend Turkey. Weapons supposedly going to rebels fighting ISIS.
