henry

So he'll just continue to be an idiot, but Obama will let him near a microphone to tell "chuck" to stand up once in a while.

Johns_Creek_Bill

Does this mean Hillary won't be indicted?

henry

They'll probably indict Gowdy for the leaks Cummings provided to the press.

Jane

Biden out, pushing socialism and being friends, and also very boring.

matt

Thank goodness for that. How can we stand any further vacuity? Our presidential elections should not be reality shows.

Captain Hate on the iPad

Still a retard.

henry

nice red witch pic at drudge

Beasts of England

The check from the Clinton Crime Foundation obviously cleared the bank.

Algonquin

Probably the most adult speech of Biden's life.

Ann

Classic Presidential Candidate Speech if Hillary blows it tomorrow. Why all the detail???

danoso

I have this mental image of Biden playing the part of Fredo, being told by Obama this Prez run aint happening.

"I'm smart ... not like everybody says ... like dumb. I'm smart and I want respect!"

Captain Hate on the iPad

Sid must've let Ashley know how many videos of her doing rails was in his possession.

Algonquin

Ironically Hillary kept a private email server because she did not trust Camp Obama--much in the same way that Nixon kept his tapes.

She did not want to be their fall guy on any big foreign policy fail.

I suspect Hillary has secreted information away on both Biden and Obama.

The failure to scramble FEST on one fateful night in Benghazi would be on their hands--that would be where the buck would stop in the chain of command for that decision.

Algonquin

Almost sounded like Biden endorsed Bernie Sanders.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--Probably the most adult speech of Biden's life.--

Who gave it first?

Algonquin

Ignatz--

Did you recognize parts of it!?

Old Lurker

Well, that blows my theory about Obama wanting a non-Clinton legacy protector for the next 12 years. Now I have no idea what games they are all playing.

Rick Ballard

I appreciate the opportunity to personalize attacks upon the Rapist Enabler for more than a year before the election. After all, she was the one who pushed Alinsky tactics to the limit in '92 and it is only fair that the hideous crone be fed with her own shovel front end loader.

Thanks, Joe.

Rick Ballard

OL,

Obama's rank as Field Marshal of the Free Shit Army is not affected. He can sell the slave pen vote for eight years without interference if Red Witch loses.

Miss Marple 2

Perhaps Obama quoted to Joe an old French saying:

"Apres moi, le deluge."

Extraneus

He would have been harder to beat.

Old Lurker

This does argue for a pitbull for the GOP, though, since a my-friends approach will be steamrolled by Clinton. That tracks with Rick's front end loader.

Algonquin

Biden might have taken one for the team--to protect Obama's Legacy.

That languauge was in the speech.

Remember the mythology of Kennedy's Camelot was more powerful than the reality.

It is rarely discussed that Nixon had a very rational reason to distrust the Democrats, as they had stolen an election from him before.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--Did you recognize parts of it!?--

No, but then I have not read the collected speeches of Neil Kinnock.

Miss Marple 2

Extraneus,

I agree. He's marginally likable on the surface. Tells a joke well and is good at glad-handing. Full of stories about the old days in Scranton, and can wax poetic on trin travel.

Hilary cannot tell a joke, has no sense of humor, plods along like an automatron, and has the cackle.

But, she is a woman and I do fear a large number of women will vote for her based on "time for a woman."

That part will be hard to overcome.

Algonquin

Ignatz

Ha!

I was pretty sure it was a a joke in that regard, but there was also the very real possibility of a recycle...

Old Lurker

Add MM's "time for a woman" group in the muddle with the built in 40%+ of the FSA and we have a real problem.

A policy wonk will not cut it, even though it should because the sad fact is too few understand why we were great once and what has changed.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--Thanks, Joe.--

Indeed. He has an effective, folksy charm to some that is only enhanced by his gaffes and frequent idiocies and, as he showed with Ryan, he can bring the bully as well.
And, unlike Hillary, he can when necessary bring a sincere sounding respect for his opponents.
That a bumbling, half witted, drooling slob like him looks that good in comparison to the seahag riding a broomstick Hillary just means my promise will be made good in just over a year.

Miss Marple 2

OL,

I am afraid it will come down to deciding which is worse: Hillary or Trump.

I do think Trump can attract a lot of the blue collar disgruntled types. And at least he loves the country, which I no longer believe the democrats do at all.

So, there you go. We live in horribly interesting times, don't we?

Old Lurker

The last guy who made such a promise at JOM, Iggy, is in the witness protection program. (Hi NK!)

henry

where do we call to reserve preferred space in the camps?

Old Lurker

Hillary will always be worse than any alternative, MM.

rse

MM-I do not like trump, but he does not hate this country or its military.

Beasts of England

A Biden-Warren ticket would have been formidable. I'd say that we dodged a bullet, but Ø's sooper mind powers and 13-dimensional chess skillz clearly have me flummoxed.

lyle

And at least he loves the country, which I no longer believe the democrats do at all.

Yep. Here's a good link backing this up:

http://thefederalist.com/2015/10/19/6-things-we-learned-about-the-democrats-last-week/

Part of the final paragraph:

Among Democrats who believe unabashedly in a big government utopia, who no longer make much pretense of caring about economic growth or national security, and who define themselves by their opposition to fellow Americans
Algonquin

Holy crap --is it possible Sanders pulls it out now?

Gawd, we could go the full Commie.

Hillary has a problem with the blue collar male union workers in her own party.

Old Lurker

Lyle, I stand on my remark yesterday that the Dems are comprised of Communists and Socialists, and the GOP of Socialists and Conservatives.

3 against 1.

Miss Marple 2

So, here are some choices:

1. Joe got bad news on the health scene so can't run.

2. Hillary has evidence that Obama and Biden did something so awful that the information is being held over their heads.

3. Obama thinks he can muscle Patrick or (horrible thought) Michelle into the VP slot, after which he can get Hillary to resign, because of stuff he has on the Clintons.

Old Lurker

With the Clintons, I would never ever rule out #2.

Old Lurker

#1 would be a feature not a bug to Obama.

#3 is too complicated and would have been easier with Biden-Warren-Patrick or Michelle.

Algonquin

Does anyone remember those road trips to the enemies, Bernie Sanders, Jim McDermott and some other looney Democrat use to make?

lyle

I understood there would be no math on this blog, OL.

henry

Al, just because Pelosi went on dinner dates with Assad does not make her looney. She was born and raised to be looney.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--The last guy who made such a promise at JOM, Iggy, is in the witness protection program. (Hi NK!)--

My promise is based on the fairly safe calculation Hillary is so Medusa-like every potential voter who actually looks on her face will be turned to stone before they can pull the lever and even their dead relatives pulling the lever for them won't make up the difference.

NK OTOH, made the monumental miscalculation of, hard as this may be for any of us to believe, actually trusting what Republicans said. He had about as much chance as a neon caterpillar in a henhouse.

Rick Ballard

The cackling crone also has a problem with Vulvarians. Standing by The Rapist as he continued to bite the lips of the victims she insists must be listened to will be a recurring theme as will her innate propensity to lie at any and all times.

I agree with OL that policy will not play much of a part in the coming farce but the Vulvarian vote is no more monolithic than the Hispanic vote and there are three GOP candidates who can play to both.

I'd go with the cute one this year.

Algonquin

The cute one?

Rubio?

Ha!

Algonquin

henry

It wasn't Pelosi. It was three males and they would travel together,IIRC

I remember Sanders, Jim McDermott, and for some reason the third one alludes me.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

49%! of Democrats favor socialism while a mere 37% view capitalism favorably.

socialism
noun so·cial·ism \ˈsō-shə-ˌli-zəm\

1: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

3: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.

But Republicans are the extremists.

DrJ

I've always been uncomfortable calling Obama and the Dems socialists. I think the term "fascist" fits them much better, since they seek to control the economy but the government (or "the people") doesn't own it directly.

Algonquin

buccaneer

Still...damn good google fu you have there.

.. But, she is a woman and I do fear a large number of women will vote for her based on "time for a woman."

There is something else … a year from now the world is likely to be a more frightening place than the media can conceal. The instinct that makes a woman glad there is a man in the house to investigate mysterious noises at night, or regret a man’s absence, may come into play.

Hilligula's dreams come to life.

Algonquin

Miss Marple

Seriously--and I am not joking about this, the military is not to touch or look at any of that stuff.

Let's just say this--Snowden is now hosted by the Russians who would like to know our process, capabilities and limitations, particularly now that they are in Syria--which really looks like a demonstration of how well they can protect their ally Iran....

No good can be had by openly discussing what our enemies would like to ferret out via their "friends" Snowden and by extension Greenwald, etc.

Old Lurker

DrJ, my problem with that theory is that Fascism usually requires trumping up hyper-nationalism and then to militarize that force.

As shown in Iggy's 1,2 & 3 definitions of Socialism, #1 fits very well particularly when you accept that "owning" does not require a "deed" as long as you can dictate what the means of production must do and where the benefits must flow. (GM & the Banks & the med Industry and on and on and on) And the textbooks aside, nobody does not understand that in Communism and Socialism both, some of the animals are much more equal than the others.

So I have no trouble applying those terms to that party and Obama and accept only that I might be stretching in calling GOPe "socialist" but I am in such a foul mood, I'm not even willing to take that back! (My reason being that the willingness to mortgage future generations with massive debt amounts to a "future taking" that amounts to the same thing.)

buccaneer morgan

Whining the future, was that about, another aged?

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Agree with Rick.
Married women already lean Rep and will not vote for the poster hag of enablers.
Older broads who don't drive Subarus or practice nude yoga [insert vomit icon here] won't either.
Millennial chicks won't vote in numbers to offset them.

And dudes who don't have backdoor flaps on their red plaid jammies would sooner vote for their mother in law than Hillary. As somebody has noted here, voting for Hillary is voting for your mother in law.

There's no way she makes up in estrogen what testosterone compels men to do when voting.
I like Ike Endora?

Doesn't work.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

The Democrats are Fabians.
Read the article and then note its applications to the US and tell me what the differences are.

But it doesn't matter what we call them. Fascism, communism, socialism, Fabianism, the welfare state; they are all onramps to the freeway to serfdom.
They may have different speed limits but they're all the same pavement to the same place and almost none of it is good intentions.

Thomas Collins

I don't think this has anything to do with Biden's assessment of whether Privateservergate is bringing down The Hill. If she is brought down, Biden and Warren and Patrick will jump in. I think Biden decided he wasn't up to a long campaign. The best thing for Joe would be if The Hill went down just before the convention.

As far as who is the more formidable candidate, unless The Hill is brought down for her server transgressions, she's the odds on favorite to be the next POTUS. MSM will not allow her to lose.

buccaneer morgan

This Kevin shipp character seems to have spoken with both Michael coren and Ezra levant, not foolish or credulous people by any degree

Jack is Back!

Just got my copy of "How to Bag A RINO" by Gray Delany & Zach Werreel, the whiz kids who brought down House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor. Going to start the first few chapters tonight between other reading.

Talk about timing: On the back cover is a photo of McConnell, Boeher and Cantor sitting together at a conferene table smiling at the camera. Two large white X's across Boehner and Cantor:)

lyle

Go home, folks, the '16 election is over:

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/425863/hillary-clinton-2016-election-winner

Clinton could, of course, be nominated and then lose. But her bet is that the liberal coalition will show up and that swing voters who do not love her will nonetheless decide that they prefer her to a Republican party out of touch with most people’s concerns. It’s not a bad bet.
James D

A policy wonk will not cut it, even though it should because the sad fact is too few understand why we were great once and what has changed.

We don't need a wonk. The policies we need are very straightforward:

Stop importing tens of millions of low/no skill workers who consume social services and suppress wages. Secure the f**king border.

Lower taxes and reduce regulation, increasing both the number of jobs and what they pay.

Rebuild the military and stop using it as a labrotory for social experimentation.

Get the federal government the hell out of higher education financng, and really out of education generally. Kindergarten lesson plans and school lunch menus in Iowa should not be dictated from the White House.

That'd be a pretty darn good start.

James D

From the article lyle links @ 2:19:

The economy is, if not roaring, as good as it has been since the crisis hit in 2008.

No, it's not, you jackass. Get out of the f**king bubble and check out the rest of the country where 38% of the work-eligible adult population has checked out of the work force, and where the rapidly rising cost of food isn't counted in the "official" inflation rate and where wages have been stagnant for the last 7 years.

Idiot.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Ramesh is Punjabi for "squish".

clarice

The Republican candidate, should hit Obamacare, open borders and national threats. As for women voters, I just read that Millennial women are now backing guns--and packing them. Forget about that war on Women carp, emphasize we need to be made safer from multiple threats occasioned by feckless Dems,

henry

Trampling of our enemies twitter feed thereof. GAB reform bill debate in the assembly. Lamentation of their women (and "men") at full volume.

jimmyk

Well, I suppose one could argue that the economy is "as good as it has been since the crisis hit in 2008," but that would be like saying that the World Trade Center is in the best shape it's been since 9/11/01. It's nowhere near where it could be had Obama not made a hash of everything.

Anyway, I would suggest that Iggy write to Ponnuru and offer to make a bet. Preferably a large one.

Beasts of England

Here's an economic anecdote: my former brother in law does the predictive statistical inventory for one of the two yuge auto parts houses. They vary their stock based on a variety of conditions, e.g., seasonal, but the driver is the economy. Tougher times, more DIY items; good times, some 'luxury' items.

There hasn't been any luxury item shift in the last two years. These guys have no dog in the fight other than increased sales. It sucks out there folks.

A roaring economy? Fuck me runnin'...

rse

Clarice-Red's experience is that all her friends envy her for having had a brother teach her to shoot.

Last time she and her dad went to the range it was packed with husbands teaching wives, siblings, fathers/daughters.

I was at a post-Ferguson program last night and a white lib tried to get the radical panel to bite on gun control and they would not. Something about then only the police would have guns and we already have trouble with police misbehaving.

Sometimes I think older Lib whites may be the only ones not comfortable with guns.

Thomas Collins

James D, MSM will massage its reporting of the economy so that it will be perceived by swing LIV voters, and for that matter swing Middle Information Voters, to be doing just fine. In addition, The Hill will be pictured as a moderate. Bill will be a net plus. Our hopes rest with determined intelligence agents and FBI agents to capture the smoking gun emails. But MSM will make sure that the standards are so high for a smoking gun email that The Hill emailing Xi Jinping to trade a contribution to The Clinton Foundation for a favorable State foreign policy decision will be treated as just some overly aggressive horsetrading.

Beasts of England

I didn't see the James D and jimmyk posts. Could have saved myself some thumb wear and tear...

There's no hiding the economic crapper we're in, TC. Reminds me of an old campaign theme: Are you better off than you were eight years ago?

Miss Marple 2

I think we should talk about how the average worker is demoralized by being told that the economy is fine while they go without work.

It's an evil policy.

By the way, eggs are 3.29 a dozen here in Indiana.

Thomas Collins

I hope you're right and I'm wrong, BOE. My main hope still rests with a smoking gun email uncovered by federales who are not in the Obama tank, or a Judicial Watch type group.

James D

TC, they'll try. But the thing is, people are actually living out in the world, and see the reality in their day to day lives.

And if the GOP had any sense at all, they'd be harping on that.

"How much has your grocery bill gone up in the last year?"

"Do you have friends or relatives who've been out of work for months?"

"When's the last time you got a raise?"

"How many stores and restaurants closed down near you in the last year?"

Etc. All the MSM bullshit in the world can't change the number at the bottom of people's ATM receipts.

henry

And the ones with work go without raises (unless govt clerks).

Old Lurker

"eggs are 3.29 a dozen"

Why do I feel like Bush 41 in that checkout line?

Just read the Introduction part to How to Bag A RINO. Two things standout:

1. This guy Zach Werrell could be the next Lee Atwater. Brash, agressive, sort of like a younger Breitbart. When he was a freshman in high school on first day of football practice he went up the starting middle linebacker and punched him the nose to state he was not someone to mess with:)

2. [Their] Bottom Line? Desperate as it is to win elections, the Republican Establishment has zero interest in what drives the rest of us - changing the culture and setting the course of the country.

Now on to the Chapter One: Eric Cantor, Conservative Rating, F-Minus.

henry

Crap, that means Ryan will get the job. Even Republican aides and campaign consultants eff with Shep every chance they get, right?

Gentlejim

That dailymail headline Lyle linked at 159 reads like a bucc/narcisso post.

I'm not so sure about Hilligula automatically getting the female vote. My wife, who is middle of the road, and teenage daughters despise the old hag. I know several other adult females who feel the same way for whatever reason.
