Thankful Buckeye Jr. is doing an outpatient rotation this month. He will get to join us for the festivities for the first time in 3 years.
Thankful everyone in my family is healthy and happy, sometimes easy to overlook what a blessing that is.

OL's 9:20 is something.
" highest level of security "
"multi-layered and intensive"
other articles have used -
"stringent security checks"
"rigorous background checks"
"intensive security screenings".
Exactly HOW is any information verified? Does Syria keep meticulous records? Are we checking with Bashar al-Assad?
Using words like multi-layered, stringent, rigorous, or intensive mean exactly nothing. Specifically....how is any information being verified?
Shuffling the same unverified info through multiple agencies is bogus & just sounds like a lot is being done.

One simple comment I put on lots of articles about refugees is:
When did offering humanitarian aid become having to bring the citizens of other countries here?
It always gets lots of "likes".
Earthquakes in Nepal, typhoons in the Philippines, Thailand tsunami, Japan's earthquake & tsunami, etc...
...there weren't screaming headlines to bring the people of those countries here.

Monica Crowley is doing an astute analysis of Trump, which coincidentally agrees with my opinion, so of course I think she is very smart. LOL! Her points:
1. His core supporters support him and rally to him in almost a protective way, which is unusual and not seen before in a primary. So when he says something outrageous, not only do they rally to him but they become more entrenched in their support.
2. He is attracting independents and moderate democrats, including union people.
3. He speaks in a language these people understand, and he is saying what they think.
4. He has high unfavorables, but so does Hillary Clinton. (Her inference is that in a general those would cancel each other out.)
Now, in the next hour, we are going to have a political panel discussing why his statements like the Muslims cheering on 9/11 don't hurt him.
Since I have the potatoes on the stove boiling, I will report on what is said.

Very OT - This is a recent development in a Virginia story I shared here - http://www.wnd.com/2015/11/peta-sued-for-kidnapping-dog-off-porch-killing-it/
The Zarate family is suing PETA for 9 million!
"When Zarate checked his security camera, the video showed a van with “PETA” on the side parked in his driveway. Two women exited the van and one walked up his porch, took Maya, and put her in the back of the van. The dog was put down shortly after that.
According to a PETA spokesman, the employee made a “tragic mistake” by euthanizing the pet “without permission.”"
PETA uses the "shelter" designation for tax purposes, but it isn't an animal shelter.
Posted by: Janet | November 26, 2015 at 10:13 AM
Janet,
I am VERY glad they are suing PETA, and I hope they get not only the $9 million but extra because the judge loves dogs and thinks they are creeps.
Posted by: Miss Marple 2 | November 26, 2015 at 10:17 AM
It would be a tragic mistake to let PETA continue to exist.

RE the "robust" vetting process for Syrian immigrants. What a sad joke, as if war torn Syria has detailed records that can be checked. Doesn't matter anyway, IIRC only two of Paris jihadis were recent immigrants, the rest were born in France or Belgium.

MM,
Per your list, this only proves that Trump is the LIV's choice. That is who he is really attracting, people who don't pay attention to politics becuase of what it represents (ie. Clinton crime family, cronyism, dyslexic DC, etc.). Now they have someone who is saying things they have never heard Pols say before. It resonates. Unfortunately for the rest of us with a modicum of intelligence. But whatever.
We just completed our "Stir in" of the JiB family Christmas pudding. Each of us gave a great stir, dropped in our coin and its now steaming for 7 hours. Then I'll add more brandy and tie it up for Christmas day. We'll flame it and serve with Rum Butter sauce. Can't wait:)

The best of wishes to all of you and the Soylent as well. Pagar, does that mean that today is your real birthday?
That Weekly Standard article is downright scary. I am not at all surprised because with this administration more than any other it is about their narrative.
Whether Gates or Trayvon or Benghazi or Iraq it is all about the optics. Obama likes to be seen doing the "right" thing according to his narrative and God forbid the facts get in the way. Very Stalinesque in many ways.
I have a feeling come late January 2017 we will see the fires of document destruction and computer hard drive smashing like we have never seen. They will need some super fast Xerox machines to print all of the pardons.

Happy Birthday Soylent.
The Trump fans I encounter know that bad stuff is going on in this country, and are sick of it. They don't pay attention to all the details, but they are sick of the political correct BS.
That's okay. In fact I think it is probably normal. (Not that I would know)
Posted by: Jane | November 26, 2015 at 11:31 AM
As I have said before, Jack, we go to an election with the electorate we have, not the one we wish we had. Otherwise, we wouldn't have Obama.
He actually might end up being the GOP nominee, and we are going to have to deal with it. I think it a mistake to alienate his supporters by calling them stupid.
A lot of them are people just waking up to the fact that elections matter. If they had been awake 4 or 8 years ago, we might have a different situation in the country.
Trump might be a terrible president. I do think he can win. Right now most of the polls are only polling Republican voters, because it is the primary.
The things that I think help Trump are those loyal followers, the fact that he doesn't take donations from large donors, and glamour, as wll as his penchant for talking like a regular guy rather than a political type.
Like I said, I am not supporting anyone in the primary and will vote for whoever is the nominee. My preference is to NOT have Kasich or Jeb Bush, because both will be easy to defeat in the general. That's about all I have to say on my feelings.

What matters also, is who is coming in with Trump....& if there are ideas & people ready to implement the policies.
Obama/the left had their minions all in the fed agencies....the leftist advocacy organizations were ready to go. Obama just gave the green light to all of them to do what they have always wanted to do. He personally didn't do everything.
Will Trump or any Republican have a great TEAM?
So far Trump has been a good frontman/salesman for things that Americans care about.
I want Cruz to be the nominee, but I'm not gonna trash Trump.

Trump would be a vast improvement over 404, and vastly better than Hillary or any other possible Dem nominee. But in a year where a strong conservative can be elected, with an R congress, it would be a great opportunity wasted IMO.
Posted by: jimmyk on iPhone | November 26, 2015 at 11:52 AM
Janet,
I bet there will be people sending off resumes in a flash if Trump is the nominee.
The lure of being in the corridors of power will overcome the snootiness of some.
PLUS, all of those experts will feel obligated to steer him in the right direction.
Our local radio host thinks that Trump wants to be a kingmaker, not the president. That might be true, but I think even Trump has been astounded by his level of support.
I don't have the faintest idea what will happen, except if a terrorist attack hits I don't think that the democrats will be able to explain it away.

--Daddy, thanks for that physics jewel article... I don't speak math as well as I used to, but didn't need any math to enjoy that!--
As I read the guy describing an invisible, infinitely-faceted, jewel-like, master "object" through which all things are created, exist and are given their characteristics and that is eternal and exists outside of time and space, which are constructs that only exist through it, I recognized an emerging portrait, albeit still through a glass darkly, of a "person" that the smart set enjoys ridiculing the existence of, along with the fools who believe in Him.
I am thankful on this day that He exists.

I was fading after my 3rd beer.
I honestly think that going almost 4 weeks without beer affected my "ability to drink" last night. After three beers I was feeling it. Not typical.
Nothing a fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth beer couldn't fix, of course, but still....

And thanks for the compliments on the pix. I love the juxtaposition of JMH's and mine. The intrinsic beauty of man's creation, in this case, without a specific 'vision' producing the elegant view she captured, and in my case, the elegant beauty of our God given planet waiting for someone to hear the quiet whisper: "Pay Attention!
