Miss Marple 2

Bringing my post from the other thread, as I always seem to post right before a new one pops up:

Geraldo seems to have become more militaristic, and has swung to "take back Ramadi, take back Fallujah, Isis must be destroyed."

I guess when it's your own child instead of nameless Middle Eastern Christians, you suddenly have a clearer picture. Whatever.

I dispute the idea that the people there have to take care of it. This is a false hope. I don't care how much money we give them, how much equipment, how much advice. They will not do it. They will either run away or take bribes to look away or join ISIS for the plunder.

What I think is that the West has to destroy them, and it has to be made plain that this is because they have attacked the West, and they will be destroyed. If the martyr-inclined want to die, so be it. Blow them to smithereens. And keep doing it.

I am out of patience with this idea that we have to cajole cooperation from people who are willing to stand by while others are beheaded. This is just nuts.

I am also to JamesD's point of deporting all who aren't citizens of the US. The ones who are should be put on notice they will be watched because they cannot be trusted. And I would make no apologies for saying that. Let them PROVE they are trustworthy.

Just arrived in the hotel in Singapore (across from Raffles) and there are 4 large Police Paddy Wagon buses with lights flashing.

Asking our cab driver what that was about and he replied that it was in reaction to some warnings they had received here in Singapore tied in with the Paris attacks. Very unexpected in this country.

Heading downstairs to find out more.

Local time is 09:35 PM. Later.

Er, forewarned is armed.

Could not watch the drama queen, Shepard Smith last night. I took the advise from the blog and watched Fox Bussiness Channel. He must have pictures.

Heh. Dr. Gorka is on again and says Obama's statements are shocking, that he is living in a fantasy like Alice in Wonderland.

Says for 7 years the administration has censored training. You are not allowed to use the word jihad in federal training. Says it's like if on D-Day you told the troops not to use the word Nazi because you don't want to offend anyone. He says that in WWII if you said something like that you would be court martialed.

Some fuktards on twitter are are tweeting that 'terror has no religion.'

I won't start ranting this morning, but as I ranted last night, the left will never ever admit that this is Islam, nor will they admit that it's anything but lone wolves.

That's why I said that the left can be allowed no quarter in this aftermath. Never forgive them for their stupidity and fecklessness and call them out at every opportunity. They are scum and they are evil.

Miss Marple 2

Hollande says "no mercy."

jimmyk

So Piers Morgan goes for the "No true Scotsman" argument.

Hollande says this attack was an act of war. France is a NATO ally. Barry must be on his 3rd pack of Kools now trying to figure out what to do.

I hope Hollande means it.

ISIS operates in a lawless zone without borders and we're sending in a few $50 million warplanes and using $1 million missiles and bombs to take out some raghead with an AK. Talk about asymmetrical warfare.

We need to find concentrations of these bastards and vaporize them instead of having 20 drone analysts and the entire chain of command deciding whether little Johnnie Jihadi should meet Allah today.

If some Kurds with some American advisors can take towns back from ISIS we should be doubling down.

Screw the Iraqi central government. It is exactly what Bush feared, a Shiite rump state run by Iran.

The whole thing is a mess and we have Saudis bombing Alawites and Turks and Russians bombing Kurds and score being settled left and right.

The one thing we do know is that it would be better to deport these scumbags back to wherever they came from. We don't need them or want them.

Buckeye

Excellent idea James D.

Let Zero and Shrillary! defend it.

See how many dems want to go on record supporting this nonsense.

Janet

Amen, James D.!!!

jimmyk

We cannot find them and do anything without boots on the ground. This sanitized drone warfare can only take out a leader or two, which does nothing because there's always a ready supply of vermin leadership.

I repeat: France is a NATO ally and they have said this is an act of war. Are we not obliged to join the fight? In a meaningful way?

Serious question: Congress can declare war without the President requesting it, right?

That might be another item for the Monday morning agenda on Capitol Hill.

Another question: can anything be stipulated in a declaration of war on how it ought to be conducted, or is that completely at the discretion of the President?

Syria refugee crisis: U.S. opens centres to speed vetting

The Obama administration is moving to increase and accelerate the number of Syrian refugees who might be admitted into the United States by opening new screening outposts in Iraq and Lebanon, administration officials told Reuters on Friday.

"We want to be in a place where we can push out really ambitious goals," said one of the officials, who spoke to Reuters on the condition of anonymity.

--Does she demand other customers pay for her meals in restaurants? Does she whine that other customers should pay for her clothes?--

It's worse; it's like standing at the entrance to a restaurant or store and demanding passersby, who have no intention of entering either establishment, hand over their wallet or she'll trash the place.

The sensible person shrugs his shoulders and goes on his way assuming the proprietors will have enough sense to toss her out on the curb by the scruff of her neck.
That they don't should be their problem not ours though the state tries its best to make it ours.

I believe Hollande's "act of war" babble is an attempt to shift away from the French JustUs system to military tribunals for muslim scum. The babble grants unwarranted status to ISIS vermin and is very short sighted.

BOzo's upping the ME screening centers but none of the countries or origin have databases upon which applicants can be checked. I want to know which agencies here are the main "sponsors", because they're as responsible for the mayhem that will inevitably follow as BOzo.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

The muslims pulling this kind of stuff may as well be working for Trump's campaign.

'Bomb the shit out of them and build a wall' become a lot more popular when, well, we need to bomb the shit out of them and build a wall.

If the economy tanks as well 'let em fail and get off our backs' become a lot more popular especially among the mulling middle.

The problematic thing is, I have no confidence Trump will do anything he says he will and I'm even more concerned he'll do all sorts of things he is not at the moment saying he will.

Serious question: Congress can declare war without the President requesting it, right?

As I see it, the problem is that if our Congress decides we should put a bullet thought thru the head of any consequential Islamist who is intent on inundating the West with the denizens and ideology of Jihad, then they would in effect be calling for the assassination of Obama.

Simply an observation, because as we all know "The future can not belong to those who slander the blah, blah, blah," and "The number 1 mission of NASA is Islamic outreach," so we cannot declare war on Islam because as our first Abraham Lincoln said, "A house divided cannot stand."

DebinNC

Anyone here think Trump would be worse than Hillary? I have serious reservations about Trump, but at least I have hope he won't do to the country what I'm sure Hillary will.

DebinNC

Can Congress turn off the huge money flow to American groups sponsoring ME refugees and planting them all over country without community approval?

Twisted Vine Bistro? Did someone says Twisted Vine? Very small world department, I bought the note on the building that houses the restaurant and a hair salon behind it, and an apartment above that, awhile back. The borrower had owned the restaurant, and sold it to the current owners. He paid me off in full so I no longer have anything to do with it. I did however make it to the Twisted Vine Bistro, when I brought my boat back to Destin. We tied up in the municipal marina, about a block away and walked over for a fantastic meal. Great spot. The city did a nice job of redoing the waterfront and clearing out some eyesore buildings, but I dont think the new businesses have sprouted up the way they expected.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Steyn notes a phrase that I recoiled from when he said it as well;

Among his other coy evasions, President Obama described tonight's events as "an attack not just on Paris, it's an attack not just on the people of France, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share".

But that's not true, is it? He's right that it's an attack not just on Paris or France. What it is is an attack on the west, on the civilization that built the modern world - an attack on one portion of "humanity" by those who claim to speak for another portion of "humanity". And these are not "universal values" but values that spring from a relatively narrow segment of humanity. They were kinda sorta "universal" when the great powers were willing to enforce them around the world and the colonial subjects of ramshackle backwaters such as Aden, Sudan and the North-West Frontier Province were at least obliged to pay lip service to them. But the European empires retreated from the world, and those "universal values" are utterly alien to large parts of the map today.

Everything, everything Barry says and does, whether an action or reaction is formed for the purpose of preserving and protecting his ideology and insane worldview.
It's the origin of "safe spaces". Lefties live in a utopia they concoct in their minds where they're always right and always righteous and, above all else, always comfy because it's much more pleasant than the real world and so the real world must be kept out at any cost including the rights, livelihoods and lives of their fellow citizens and fellow humans anywhere whose existence threatens their cocoon.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Article on a new Sinatra biography.

May get me in hot water around here, but though I disliked his persona both on and off screen, I do recognize his acting as pretty good and I do occasionally enjoy some of his songs, I never got the legendary status of his music.
I get the cool factor and style and phrasing and tempo and all that but none of it overcomes, for me, the mediocrity, thinness and tinniness of his voice.

Brook Benton as just one semi-contemporary example is like a richly oiled walnut burl desk full of depth and range compared to Sinatra's clever Ikea table made out of flat, plain, pine planks.

Merkel doubles down on stupid

German Chancellor Angela Merkel responded to the Paris massacre by calling for “tolerance” towards migrants and respect for “the right of everyone to seek his fortune and live,” as her policy of allowing in hundreds of thousands of refugees came under fresh scrutiny.

“We believe in the right of everyone to seek his fortune and live, to the respect for the other and tolerance,” said Merkel. “We know that our free life is stronger than any terrorist. Let’s give the terrorists the answer by living our values confidently. And as we affirm these values throughout Europe. Now more than ever.”
