Just be ready - you will not see a funnier display of zero self-awareness today, this year, or perhaps ever. This is from a NY Times op-ed:
Diversity Makes You Brighter
...
Diversity improves the way people think. By disrupting conformity, racial and ethnic diversity prompts people to scrutinize facts, think more deeply and develop their own opinions. Our findings show that such diversity actually benefits everyone, minorities and majority alike.
OMG, LOL, and WTF. This explains why the NY Times newsroom is filled with reporters who are evangelical Christians, pro-lifers, gun owners, climate change skeptics, and white-bread New England conservatives. Oh, wait. It's not a diversity of ideas that promote broader thinking - its a diversity of skin tone! My bad.
To be fair, this article is not promoting workplace diversity. I actually have a second punchline - it is promoting Affirmative Action to bring diversity to our nation's campuses! That's right, our campuses, those bastions of free speech where competing ideas are bandied about without fear of consequences. As long as you are in the designated Campus Free Speech Zone at an allowed time and with the proper permit - otherwise some representative of diverse ethnicity, sexuality, religion, or whatever may take offense at your diverse ideas and you'll be be learning what 'hasta la vista' means.
I need some muscle here! I'm falling out of my chair from laughter.
Bless their hearts.

Good Morning! FOX Business is covering the live protests in Chicaago of the BLack Lives Matter crowd marching in the streets demanding Rahm resign as Mayor.
Joe Trippi is the designated damage control guy for the Dem's and he says Rahm isn't going anywhere, this will all blow over, and none of this will have any negative consequences for Hillary because there is no on on the Repub side who is even capable of saying the words "Black Lives Matter."

I'd be happy of course to see both of them go, but Zeke might be a good start.

Our campuses want diversity? Bring back ROTC for all Universities, colleges and other institutions of higher eductation that receive federal funds of any kind.
Solves a number of problems including providing employment opporutnities for our retiring or discharged NCO's and officers. It also, by itself, would increase the level of common sense, leadership and discipline at these joints. Students would feel safer even in their safe spaces.
Plus with a full armed ROTC detachment it would be a possible detterant to anyone who wants to shoot up the place.

also ""No Justice, no Profit", no Justice, no Profit!"
Pretty decent chanting.
Here's the checklist of the usual drivel I'm expecting to hear from Rahm:
1) I take responsibility
2) Let the healing process begin
3) Black Lives Matter
So we go to the tape, and whatdoya know
Mayor Rahm: "I take responsibility for what happened because it happened on my watch. And we're going to fix it. I want you to understand that it's my responsibility with you. But we're also going to begin the healing process. The first step in that journey is my step. I'm sorry."

Well, of course he "welcomes" it: with the stem to stern corruption in the DoJ combined with it being run by Holder's hand-picked toady, he knows a federal investigation would be a joke. Even the diminutive dancer can see that.
Same with Hilligula. The longer the "investigation" of her emails drag on, the greater the likelihood the sham process will--mirabile dictu!--result in the FBI saying, "we took considerable time in investigating whether the former SecState might have mishandled sensitive material and, while we disagree with some her protocols, she didn't break any laws." Had to drive one more package over for postal pick-up. In the car Hannity had Jamie Dupree on talking about various and sundry things that went on on Capitol Hill today.
He seemed to think that Trump's numbers would start to fall from this controversy, and said that some tea party sympathizer senator disavowed Trump's statement. He said he talked to a lot of aides in the halls and they were disapproving.
I thought to myself, "But Jamie, did you talk to any regular people?"

Do men still have to sign up for the draft at age 18?
Jane,
On talk radio they run a PSA a couple times a day telling young men they have to sign up for Selective Service once they hit 18. I know the ad pretty much by heart. The closing lines are "it's fast, it's easy, and it's the Law."
Just for interest, my daughters tennis coach was a big black 6 foot 4 former cricket player from Jamaica. He's a excellent fellow and married a local gal. 2 years back, during slow times, he tried to get a job working on the Fedex Ramp tossing cargo. He was doing well in the process until he was screened and found not to have signed up for Selective Service. He was refused hiring due to that. At the time Sinclair was in his 30's I believe, and I think he told mom he wasn't even naturalized until after his 27th Birthday, the cut off for having to apply for Selective Service, but still he got shot down. Just mentioned that to show there apparently are repercussions.

I mention this because as I was driving downtown I caught the top of the hour Radio news and the protests were not mentioned, but instead there was a segment on Scalia's Affirmative Action comments, followed by a comment from Al Sharpton. Are all the other MSM channels in "shhh, let's protect Rahm Emanual" mode?

JIB - I have NO idea - being a southern gentlewoman and all....I tend to agree they are probably just trying to avoid going back home.
The bigger issue this points to is our total inability to track, contain, or otherwise oversee certain "visitors" to our shores. Hopefully they are harmless but they could pretty much do anything they want - anywhere they want - especially if they had outside help and funding.
Posted by: Momto2 | December 09, 2015 at 04:54 PM
According to Henry's link you have to enroll in Selective Service by your 25th Birthday. I think the 27th birthday is what I recall from the old days, wherein you had to be under IIRC 27 and a half at time of Commissioning in order to be eligible for Naval Officer Candidate programs. I think that's the rule Biden's coke-snorting son was exempted from.

"Trump Leads By 25 Points Over Nearest Rival In New Zogby Poll"
"A new poll of Republican primary and caucus voters by Zogby Analytics shows developer Donald Trump widening his nationwide lead to 25 points over his nearest rival, neurologist Dr. Ben Carson. The new Zogby Poll of 271 likely GOP voters has a margin of sampling error of +/-6 points and has the following results:
• Donald Trump: 38%
• Ben Carson: 13%
• Marco Rubio: 12%
• Ted Cruz: 8%
• Jeb Bush: 7%
• Chris Christie: 4%
• Carly Fiorina: 3%

The entire poll was conducted after Trump’s controversial remarks about banning Muslims from entering the United States. His 38% is the highest percentage he has received yet in a Zogby Poll."

You being the BBall guy, how far can Golden State go before they lose? Is 33 straight the record? My buddy went to the Brooklyn game the other night and said the Warriors are a complete team and that watching Curry during warm ups was very instructional as to how good he really is.

Posted by: Captain Hate | December 09, 2015 at 05:34 PM
JiB, Golden State went to one of the jokes of the league to elite status when Jerry West came on board. Curry was already very good but when they fired fatassed Mark Jackson and replaced him with Steve Kerr everything was in place because Kerr, as a long range bomber himself, designed a number of plays to get the Splash Brothers going. Sure they can beat the record but it will take some luck to do so. But they are a very solid and deep club. I read somewhere that if they keep winning they will play to tie the record in Cleveland on Christmas. They are somewhat helped by the West not being quite the murderers row that they've been in the past. But Curry has upped his game from last season when he was already MVP. But it's a long season.
Btw Luke Walton has done a great job while Kerr recovers from back surgery.

JIB,
I think that Trump cut a deal with Cruz well before the debates began. I have no idea how all of this will come down, but Cruz never seems to criticize Trump in the same way that others have.

Kasich on Fox now. He is such a repulsive person.

Trump's rhetoric is radicalizing Muslims. I know that because every talking head has said so. Good thing they aren't worried about Obama's rhetoric radicalizing me, a card carrying member of the NRA and proud TEA party supporter. Lucky for them rhetoric, like global warming, only affects Muslims.

Coulter is second only to BOR when it comes to self promotion. Her books are much better researched than those of the 8 pm-er on the Rove News Channel; why, I've even heard that she interviews people with skin in the game.

Barbara - I'm in Ga. and every talk show seems to have him on down here. He gets on my last nerve! It doesn't matter what the topic is - he tries to sound like the "voice or reason" or present "both sides".
"So Jamie, what is going on in D.C. now that 25 muslim refugees beheaded Congressmen on the steps of the Capitol?"
"Well, to be fair, these same Congressmen had spoken out about letting in the refugees and some here believe that led to the outrage....Stay tuned for the rest of the day as I plan to interview 3 or 4 of the refugees to hear their side of the story!"

Back Home now:
Charles Payne on FOX Business runs a clip of Comey saying that the morning of the murders the killers texted 109 messages to somebody probably over in the Middle East, yet that he is unable to read any of what was texted due to not being able to un-incrypt the messages.

I know someone else on some other thread here mentioned how annoying the use of the word "radicalized" is, I just wanted to add my $.02. We almost never heard the word until the last week, now it must have been focus group tested and it is everywhere. I find it very interesting what a contrasting position the MSM and the progs take toward gays vs Islam. For sexual orientation, the prog take is that it is an immutable characteristic, so if your five year old girl thinks she's a boy, you had better go out and buy her an STP device (look it up) or you are not being a good parent. And the left pooh-poohs the idea that any gay men seek to recruit young males into their subculture. Your sexual orientation is so immutable that we had to turn the millennial old definition of marriage upside down because some people had no choice but to "marry" the same sex. Yet with Islamic killers, all it takes is a wave of a magic twitter account, or some videos, or a trip to the middle east and voila, radicalization takes place. I guess I just don't know science.

In Baltimore, officer Porter took the stand in his defense. White officer, Novak, was given immunity. Prosecution case was pretty weak. He's probably going to walk. CVS hardest hit.
