Aside from the glaring VoxFail belabored earlier ("HERE WE GO AGAIN", in an earlier post) this Michelle Hackman piece on the mental health bill put up by Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA), "the only clinical psychologist in Congress" is very helpful.
According to Mother Jones’s ongoing tracker, 43 of the 99 mass shooters they’ve tracked definitely have a history of mental illness, and nine more potentially did as well. If we want to tackle one potential solution to stopping more mass shootings in the United States, it makes sense to look at how to increase access to treatment for mental illness.
That is roughly half of mass shooters, including, in my mental list, most of the famous ones. In fact, as I think of Newtown, the Aurora cinema, Planned Parenthood, the Charleston Church, Gabby Gifford, the first Ft. Hood, or (obviously) San Bernardino, I am wondering how so many were not clear cases of mental illness. Things to do...

I don't know what PD meant, but what I think is wrong is that the so-called sleeper cells will be awakening throughout the country while (i) our POTUS pushes air taxes, massive subsidies for windmills and solar panels, and flooding the US with more Religion of Peace "refugees", (ii) our immigration vetting authorities will vet as they did the San Bernardino female jihadist, and (iii) our AG concentrates on prosecuting people who raise their voice against jihadism.

So, which of the POTUS candidates is best equipped to deal with tougher immigration control, the jihadists already here, and what needs to be done in the Middle East? Here's my ranking:
1. Christie
2. Fiorina
3. Cruz
4. Rubio
5. Trump
6. Bush
Is Christie so superior on this score that it's worth supporting a RINO? I think it's a tough question. Of course, for those who think Cruz is the best on this score, it's an easier decision.

Thanks, TC - my presumption, as well. If there's anything positive that can come out of this terrorist attack it's that the libertarian and conservative sites I read are truly enraged at the mendacity of this administration and their media fluffers. They're also done with the muzzie mitigation scheme of 'most are good' and have moved to 'they better fix it or we will'.
The leftard sites have come completely unglued. They know that they'll have to defend the 10,000+ 'migrants' that their moronic leaders are on record as demanding. They're toast. And if the lose the presidency, they're completely irrelevant for the first time in generations. It's really ugly for them. As it should be. Fuckers.

Posted by: Old Lurker | December 04, 2015 at 04:36 PM
I think a lot of voters are going to agree with you and make that the overriding factor, maryrose. OL and TK, Christie just made a strong statement on how Muslims here would welcome tougher immigration enforcement. I think he went out of his way to swat down the argument that tougher immigration enforcement will be anti-Muslim. Plus, as a former federal prosecutor and current Guv of NJ, I think Christie has more experience than the others on this issue. Trump is the one I don't trust on this. He lost me in the second debate when he continued with his "deport them all and take applications" mantra. Just is not going to happen. Christie is the one most likely to view illegals here in the context of who is the greatest threat. If Trump adjusts his nonsensical rhetoric and begins addressing illegals in the context of jihad, I'll reconsider.
Posted by: Thomas Collins | December 04, 2015 at 04:38 PM

If 2016 goes Republican POTUS the Alinsky radicals will reluctantly turn to entrenching their advances made under Obumster. They will see the light and "recognize" the benefits of compromise, comity, and bipartisanship.
Christie, Jeb, Kasich would welcome them with open arms, hugs, and kisses.
Probably master negotiator Trump too.
Even Rubio.
Fiorina and Cruz ... maybe not.
Posted by: boris | December 04, 2015 at 04:44 PM
TK, I still think it's overbroad. The next POTUS needs to set a strong tone that dealing with the overall illegals problem comes after the sleeper/awake cells are rooted out. For example, I would have my DHS and FBI heads tell people in the field that if an illegal gives them good info on a jihadist cell, the DHS and FBI people in the field would go easy on them. Stereotype alert! If Paddy is an Irish illegal working in a bar and taking book on the side, he just isn't a priority with me. I'll deal with him later. Now, if I suspect he's in a money laundering operation for jihadists, I'd put the squeeze on him. The only reason I am not putting Trump last on this issue is because I really believe he is smarter than his rhetoric.
Posted by: Thomas Collins | December 04, 2015 at 04:46 PM
Not on this issue, boris. Christie will be RINO on entitlement reform, but I think he understands the jihadist threat, and has way more experience than the others in dealing with it.
Posted by: Thomas Collins | December 04, 2015 at 04:48 PM
And Boris, on that "maybe" we are betting the ranch since you are dead right about the others.
Posted by: Old Lurker | December 04, 2015 at 04:48 PM
I think it is part of the negotiating style pointed out a while ago on these pages, TC.
Trump has to start at the outlandish to secure a deal in the middle. Everyone else is starting too close to amnesty.
Posted by: Threadkiller | December 04, 2015 at 04:49 PM
But TC, it is a multi front war and a loss on Rino Entitlements and NJ style finance will kill us as surely as the Muslims will.
Posted by: Old Lurker | December 04, 2015 at 04:51 PM
I appreciate that argument, TK. But for me, it's time for the bluster to end. Remember that Christie is also a bluster guy, but not on this issue.
Of course, there is the argument that Trump or Cruz is savvy enough to appoint a Christie type as jihadist czar. But I think having the most experienced guy on this issue as POTUS carries a lot of weight for me.
Posted by: Thomas Collins | December 04, 2015 at 04:53 PM
TC - I am sure that I will have to defend myself, my family, my friends, my country, etc. I rue that day as I will have to become someone that I do not want to be and will have to stand before Almighty God someday to explain my actions. I try my level best to "be at peace with all those around me" (Romans 12:18), but that will not be possible for too much longer.
At one time, I would have welcomed that day but I have changed to the point that I no longer recognize that person.

But on balance, I think the jihadist threat trumps (there I go again) the entitlement concern about Christie.

IMO illegals and jihadis are cats paws of Alinsky radicals to provoke reactions they can exploit for years and years no matter who wins elections.
Enough poison is already in the system and there is no way to deal with it the radicals can't exploit.
Dealing with the exploiters needs to happen first.

I don't think the federal government as we know it makes it through the next six months.

Boris,
+1000. Raqqa and Mosul are both fairly well invested and food will be running out by the end of December with the Turks "oil for wheat" program grinding to a halt. There is already an uptick in bleeding heart bullshit from the usual suspects and IS will lift its iron curtain at the point where loosing another 1 million refugees will do the most damage - and elicit sobs of sympathy from the braindead Muddle.
It's really difficult to discern what will be on what passes for the Muddle's mind come November but "callous disregard of the plight of Mahometans on the part of the heartless GOP" will be served daily by the MFM lice for the foreseeable future.

Therefore, I think Cruz, Fiorina, and Trump. Maybe Rubio but that is a very qualified maybe.

Why people hate lawyers reason #.....:
from ABC News 'family' say it's all a tissue of terrorism lies because:
Today lawyers for the Farook family cast doubt on the reports of the ISIS pledge and said that there hasn’t been any real evidence that the couple has any “extremist tendencies.”
“None of the family knew of him as being extreme, aggressive or having any extreme religious views,” one of the attorneys said.
The other noted that Malik was very soft-spoken and conservative -- so much that Farook's brothers never saw her face, due to the full burqa she always wore in public."
Traveled to Saudi Arabia to marry a Burqa wearing woman, nothing whatever 'extreme' there... oh and slaugtering 14 and trying to murder 1st responders with pipe bombs nothing extreme there. C&^#suckers.

No Burqa at the scene that is a very good point. It is consistent with the Jihadis throwing the Quran out the window just before and during Jihad, as the Jihad gets them a free pass to paradise without judgment of the rest of their lives. She could dump the Burqa for mass murder; she was Jihadi, no question.

As I understand it, a decade or two ago, the democrats decided that parents could not force their children into treatment after the age of 18. Thus if kid had problems, and was not confined before that, they were out of luck. I have a friend this applied to.
Amy worked in a group home before she went to law school and was adamant about parents getting a guardianship before that birthday. My guess in all these case of young mentally ill men, the parent's hands were tied.
