From CBS News:
ACLU Board Member Resigns After Urging People To Kill Supporters Of Trump
After a bit of a Twitter storm (described in a follow-up) Derek Hunter of the Daily Caller had this:
Colorado ACLU Board Member: Shoot Trump Voters ‘Before Election Day’
Loring Wirbel, board member of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Colorado chapter and co-chair of the ACLU’s Colorado Springs chapter, called for supporters of GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump to be shot before they vote for the billionaire businessman.
It was a shameful Facebook post, complete with a Godwin's law violation.
The CBS story has interesting background and a odd conclusion:
It’s the second threat against Republicans in Colorado in one week.
Fern Delise, 54, of Fountain was arrested after police say she called Planned Parenthood saying, “It’s tempting to walk into a republican party meeting with my dead husband’s gun and just start shooting people.”
Hmm, Love is not Trumping Hate in CO just now. Back to CBS:
Wirbel did not respond to a request for comment. He is from Colorado Springs and police there say his post is covered by free speech and they do not intend to investigate.
If they had said the know the guy is a harmless bloviator that might be different. But does anyone think he would get a "free speech" pass for threatening to shoot ethnics?
So All Criminals Love Us has finally found a scuzzbucket too embarrassing to keep in place? When will they find their voices about 404's obviously unconstitutional assault on the right to bear arms?

Here's pottereaton whom I call the Duke, over @ Judy's:
"The exchange between Judith Curry, Mark Steyn, and Senator Markey will likely be remembered as one of those compelling moments in which the alarmists and their extremist environmental accomplices lost control of the debate. In terms of theater, nothing is more dramatic than witnessing a respected scientist(backed by a talented polemicist) force an ideological windbag to confront the shallowness of his beliefs.
Markey, to his credit, did not flee the room. But he probably should have"

Even measured by the universe of politicians, Markey is a boob. If Dickie Durbin and Sheldon Whitehouse are 10s on a 1-10 scale of politician boobism, Markey makes the meter go to 10, and the meter then explodes.

You have to trace out the authority which resulted in CO2 becoming a pollutant to get to the answer. The statutory delegation to the EPA resulted in a Nine Monkey decision which won't be reversed until a President signs a statute removing CO2 from being considered a pollutant.
The US is not bound to the Paris flim flam any more than it is bound to the Kyoto agreement and that will become clear when Congress refuses to fund.

Clinton, of course, never tried to implement the Kyoto measures unilaterally, either. My nomination for most fatuous -- yet revealing -- paragraph is this one:Countries would also be committed to limiting the amount of greenhouse gases emitted by human activity to the same levels that trees, soil and oceans can absorb naturally, beginning at some point between 2050 and 2100. To achieve that goal, scientists say, the world will have to stop emitting greenhouse gases altogether in the next half-century. Yeah, that's gonna happen. My question is how China, with the world's second largest economy (and apparently in first place if we're talking "purchasing power parity") still gets to play by developing country rulz? Talk about getting out-negotiated. But never mind all that, today's the day you're Gonna Have a Good Time, right? Happy Birthday to you!

Practically the entire GOP supported the SAFE act (House Republicans: 242 yea, 2 nay, 2 NV) well before Trump floated the no muslim immigrant thing.
But I guess it's not news unless Trump said something about it.
The statutory delegation to the EPA resulted in a Nine Monkey decision which won't be reversed until a President signs a statute . . .

Mrs. Farook wasn't a refugee, so the problem goes a bit deeper. And conversely a lot of potential refugees are not Muslims. That piece that someone linked recently about Christians from the ME being denied refugee status, if true, was the most outrageous thing I've read in years. It reminded me of when they went after that family from Germany who wanted to home school their kids, but here it's life and death. I hate this administration with all my heart.

JMHanes - There was actually some discussion as to whether Sanders would be allowed on the Democratic primary ballot in New Hampshire. Luckily for Sanders, Vermont does not have voter registration by party, and he has been careful, since his YPSL days, to avoid being an official socialist. (Or card-carrying, as we used to say.)
Incidentally, several of his early races were against both Democrats and Republicans.

IMO - the Abengoa BK (which triggered a CDS event) was an inflection point. I would toss in the IMF's action in ignoring Ukraine's default on its Russian loans in order to pump more money down the Ukraine rat hole as another. The IMF money will be used to pay Ukraine's Russian gas bill. Russia's decision to enforce cash in advance terms for gas delivery to Ukraine (and EUtopia) is completely justified in view of the IMF actions.

I will see him Christmas and let him know. He took my advice and focused on learning the hardware side as well as honing his coding skills so really well rounded embedded guy.
