First day on the new feet?

Dave (in MA)

Sounds like TM judged every beer not by its color, but by the character of its ABV rating.

Sandy Daze

Good morning.

Other words for writer's block, TM ?

Beasts of England

Palin on the ground with Trump in Iowa.

If there is a G-d, he'd make sure that Trump announced her as his running mate. Not saying it would be good politically, merely good for my own personal entertainment. I think a couple of libtards would spontaneously combust if this happened. That's all I want out if life...

Thomas Collins

There would be as much combustion, BOE, if Palin announced support of Trumpster and Trumpster said Palin would be his Secretary of Energy.

narciso

good shorthand,

Clarice

Good morning, TM--

narciso

I don't get how the Allegiance Council would pick Salman jr, to replace the doddering pop,

Beasts of England

I think she is going to endorse him today, TC. Announcing her as his Energy Secretary would be equally as delightful, you're correct!!

Thomas Collins

Youngster Liz Warren is no doubt feeling out potential wallets at this very moment.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll on Friday found that 25 percent of Republicans think Cruz is not eligible to be president because he was born in Canada to an American mother, with 27 percent of all voters and 28 percent of independents agreeing.

http://mobile.wnd.com/2016/01/trump-adviser-eligibility-attack-to-take-cruz-off-message/

There is also a story building that a no-name GOP candidate has started a procedure against Cruz in New Hampshire.

I haven't seen it anywhere other than my loon sites.

Thomas Collins

Holy Gaia, given The Hill's travails, Al Gore is probably feeling out potential wallets.

From Saturday, BoE:

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump

Big announcement in Ames, Iowa on Tuesday! You will not want to miss this rally!

Curious.

Many will be sadden to find Palin rubbernecking at the clown car wreck.

Jane

Dave,

GE is going to be pissed!

NK

The collapsing House of Saud: I do have to acknowledge that ValJar Brennan and Donillon have been consistent and resolute in destroying the House of Saud and replacing it with the MB and the Mullahs as the power brokers in the ME. They have been consistent and very successful with that. Of course, the Oil Glut driving Brent to $29/bll was a big help. Once the Sauds are gone, the Egyptian military will also have to give in to the MB as the Turk military has and the MB takeover of sunni -Arabia will be complete.

Beasts of England

I'm not a Palin fan, but she certainly has a large and sincere following. Her endorsement is significant because of that. And considering the way she was treated by much of the GOPe, I'm sure she'd be happy to send a great big F-U to many of those turds. How sweet it is...

Dave (in MA)

I wonder if Don Felder's lawyer has expressed his condolences to Glenn Frey's lawyer yet?

Jack is Back (but On )!

Tried going down the stairs. Didn't even make past the first one. Ouch!

Back in the bedroom. Slept off the pain but I am still confident the rest, ice and meds are working.

From the other thread, my development experience on the private sector basis is in non-recourse but it still requires "skin in the game" and financial credibility. Hard to raise primary and secondary debt without it. That, and of course, the construction guarantee. Not many companies, special purpose or stand alone who can guarantee a multi-billion dollar project. Even sureities get the shakes at this stage.

It does keep the riff-raff out of the business, though.

NK

'Skin in the game' in the last 2 cycles 2002-2007 and 2010-2015, that has meant promoters using investor OPM for the 30% 'equity' required by institutional lenders and Mezz lenders.

To us "skin in the game" is our own equity not some investor backer. We always controlled our own projects from inception througreeh completion. And I agree, the role of "owner" is often overlooked in the success and the failure of those projects.

JiB-- OK your company satisfies the NK/OL 'developer' standard.

A Sarah Palin endorsement of Donald Trump would do more damage to Palin's conservative credentials than it would to Ted Cruz, the candidate's communications director said Tuesday, remarking that he would be "deeply disappointed."

"Throughout the world, you look at Syria, where there are Christians and chopping off heads. If you look at the different places, Christianity is under siege,” Trump said. “We have to protect [them] because bad things are happening, very bad things are happening.”

Amen, Mr. Trump. But Jerry Farwell Jr. makes the case against nepotism imo with his comments vouching for Trump's Christian bona fides. And Trump assuring students when he's prez they can say "Merry Christmas" seems condescending to me. I very much doubt Trump understands evangelicals.

Old Lurker

Catherine Herridge just now:

"EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton's emails on her unsecured, homebrew server contained intelligence from the U.S. government's most secretive and highly classified programs, according to an unclassified letter from a top inspector general to senior lawmakers.

Fox News exclusively obtained the text of the unclassified letter, sent Jan. 14 from Intelligence Community Inspector General I. Charles McCullough III. It laid out the findings of a recent comprehensive review by intelligence agencies that identified "several dozen" additional classified emails -- including specific intelligence known as "special access programs" (SAP).

That indicates a level of classification beyond even “top secret,” the label previously given to two emails found on her server, and brings even more scrutiny to the presidential candidate’s handling of the government’s closely held secrets.

“To date, I have received two sworn declarations from one [intelligence community] element. These declarations cover several dozen emails containing classified information determined by the IC element to be at the confidential, secret, and top secret/sap levels,” said the IG letter to lawmakers with oversight of the intelligence community and State Department. “According to the declarant, these documents contain information derived from classified IC element sources.”

Palin is making a mistake if she endorses Trump.

Beasts of England

SAP means special access program or codeword programs. We used to be called 'black projects' because they don't exist on budget. While the classification exists, you can't even say the name of the program - it's that classified.

If this is true, then it's a much bigger deal than some 'mere' TS documents that were mishandled. I can't see this being swept under the rug. People who work, or have worked, SAP-level projects, such as myself, take this shit quite seriously.

matt

Wow, Obama's EP claims are finally being beaten back on F&F. I'm sure they have already destroyed the incriminating evidence, but at least something has been done to expose the fraud at the heart of this administration.

I don't know how the DoJ cannot indict Hillary at this point. The DoD is trying to cow Petraeus, who has been convicted for much less.

ISIS conquers populations in failed states. The Muslim Brotherhood however exercises control over populations in the cities of the West. I don't want to be the SAP shill, narciso, but the DoD and intelligence leviathan understand the grave nature of this alleged transgression. I'd say that the entrenched powers in that group, coupled with the FBI investigation and their own interests, make a formidable opponent.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

A point that needs stressing; IS is not the biggest problem in the ME by a long shot and defeating it will fix nothing.
It is one of the symptomatic, regenerating hydra heads of expansionist islam.
There are two effective ways of dealing with expansionist islam;
1. Permanently level Mecca, Medina, Qom and every mosque and madrassa on earth and stamp it out root and branch. This will probably only happen when Armageddon arrives.
2. Build a real and or virtual wall around it and let its practitioners kill each other; mercilessly shooting or returning any practitioner who attempts to escape the perimeter.

No single part of islam constitutes an existential threat to the west yet, at least not one that exceeds the existential threat the west poses to itself.
But until we undertake number 2 we will continue to lose ground until we inevitably will face an existential showdown at which point number 1 will look more and more reasonable.

The grim reaper lives by the same rule the old Fram filter commercials did; you can pay me now, or pay me later.

Governor Branstad came out opposing Cruz today, saying his election would be bad for Iowa and he hopes he loses.

What will be interesting is whether Branstad has more sway than Jim VanDerPlat (hope I spelled that right). Or Steve King, for that matter.

Adding Palin and you have a real mix-up.

Very interesting to watch!

Porchlight

I'm not sure how people who believe Palin is opportunistic, unpopular and irrelevant are disappointed by her failure to endorse Cruz.

Maybe she's secretly trying to help Cruz by allowing Trump to be damaged by by his association with her opportunism, unpopularity, and irrelevance. ;)

The Herridge/Fox report about the IG letter to congress. How can Hilligula remain viable with a record like that? She sends TOP/Top Secret info on her home brew server which she set up to funnel inside info to Cronies and solicit $$$$ for her phony baloney foundation? We are no better than a Banana Republic, Chavez Venezuela, Kirshner Arg or Castro Cuba if she is politically viable. I am heartbroken.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I can't see the Dem mandarins letting a Hillary, who is unindicted only because of an anti Lynch mob at DOJ protecting her, stay in the race.

I'm not even sure I can see Barry letting Lynch not indict someone he detests with the heat of a thousand suns like Secretary SeaHag if the FBI recommends it. A man who enjoys humiliating his enemies as much as Barry would seem unlikely to save her.

If BillyJeff Tweed and HotSprings Hall have the oomph to stop such an event it would have to be at the FBI level to prevent a mortal wound to the fishwife.

Update on all the ruckus in Iowa.

1. Cruz campaign put out a snarky statement saying endorsing Trump would hurt Palin more than Cruz.

2. Bristol Palin got on her blog and posted clips of Cruz thanking Palin for helping him get elected (she endorsed him in the Senate election)and felt like that statement was ungracious (only in Bristol-speak).

3. Now Cruz comes out with a statement that no matter what happens, he will always be grateful Palin helped him.

Click only if you're jonesin' hard for some GOPe Konsultant Krap©. He hits every one of them.

Graham opined that one of his fellow senators, Ted Cruz (R-Texas), would not be any better than Trump.

"He's going to get killed," Graham said. "When I think of Evangelical Christian, 'the first thing in my mind is Donald Trump.' No. When I think of problem solver, the first thing in my mind is not Ted Cruz. All I can say, I've learned one thing in 20 years, if a law is named after the president of the United States and they are still president, you are probably not going to repeal it."

"He took our party down a strange road of shutting down the government to repeal Obamacare. And those of us that thought it was a bad tactical choice, he said, you're actually for Obamacare. I'll never forget that, that is McCarthy stuff. Because you disagree how to repeal Obamacare, you're for the thing that you actually are against. I don't like that kind of politicking; they will tear him to shreds."

With apologies to any JOMer who lives in the Palmetto State, every time I see or hear this goober I'm ashamed of the people of S. Carolina. And I have relatives living there.

NK

SandyDaze- that intel analysis of the riverine boat route makes perfect sense to me. The Saudis are royally pissed at Obummer and are denying routine transit rights to the US Navy. As I said earlier, one of the very few Obummer 'sucesses' has been the steady destruction of the House of Saud and replacing that power vacuum with the MB/Mullahs. The House of Saud has awakened to the danger, hence executing Shia Imams and breaking off relations with the Mullahs. Obummer treats the House of Saud as a hostile power and empowers the Saudis' most dangerous enemy, why shouldn't the Saudis react in kind. It also explains the quick release of the boats, the Mullahs want their $150B and the Saudis as US enemies, so letting the boats go served their current interests
