How Elon Musk Stole My Car.

On the evening of January 7, the day before I was to receive my car, Kevin called me to explain he had a call in with the Office of the CEO at Tesla and was working with his team in Tesla to resolve a problem that had come up — their CEO, Elon Musk, had taken my car and was using it as his personal vehicle to test a new version of autopilot. Even worse, he said he could see all the calls I had made into the Orlando delivery center this past week, and no one was taking my calls because no one knew what to do.

And;

In the end, I cancelled my order and Tesla agreed to refund my money. If a tech-savvy $100k car buyer can have this experience, what hope is there for this organization to go mainstream? Tesla is a publicly traded company that loses money. So, strictly speaking, it doesn’t need customers as long as it can fund its losses via Wall Street. In my experience, its a hobby masquerading as a company, and it can probably run as a hobbyist organization for some time. But, at some point, customers will matter, they always do. Hopefully, if this posts reaches the right people in Tesla it will serve as a wake-up call to right their ways before its too late.

Sarah Palin is a conservative and a Christian, who detests big business and crony capitalism.
She endorsed a non conservative, big businessman, crony capitalist who is biblically illiterate while not endorsing a conservative enemy of big business crony capitalists and has a long history of brilliant conservative principles and is a committed Christian of long standing.

Very, very dumb move.

Good for Trump, probably. Dumb for Palin.

Threadkiller

Gretta poll gives the endorsement a 75% or so thumbs up.

Chris Matthews pole? Not so high.

Miss Marple

Herman Cain on Greta. Says endorsement by Palin isn't a game changer, but a game gainer. Says it will pick up some votes for Trump. He also says that the cumulative effect of endorsing Trump AND the statement by Governor Branstad against Cruz could make a difference.

Threadkiller

Trump's strategy, IMO, isn't so much that he wants or needs Palin's endorsement.

It is the head game on Cruz that matters.

Cruz always has Glenn Beck, though.

lyle

Chrissy doesn't have a pole.

Jack is Back (but On )

Standing next to a lightning rod doesn't make you more protected if you are taller and have greater attractive mass (politiical. He's the one running, not her).

Thomas Collins

Good for Rubio, Kasich, Christie or Bush. After the March 1st primaries, it's likely to be a three critter race among Cruz, Trump and one of the aforementioned. Of Trump and Cruz, Cruz has the best chance of having unstoppable momentum after March 1st. This will make Cruz locking it up after March 1st less likely.

Smart for Trump. Helps him peel off Cruz leaners who are persuadable.

Palin? I have no idea. Perhaps she thinks Trumpster can best deal with foreign policy and national security because of his statements. I don't happen to think that, but she didn't consult me.

Jack is Back (but On )

Well, my Percocept is kicking in and I am soon in la-la land. Stay safe.

Slaap lekker, tots morgen

Jane

Of Course Sarah Palin Is Endorsing Donald Trump

Well this will cause some fumes.

buccaneer morgan

Would pinnette write anything different?

Rick Ballard

I miss the Masked Avenger. Nobody could use a ring post like he could.

Jane

He's a friend of mine buccaneer. One of my favorites at NR. Of course I don't know what a "pinnette" is, so you are safe.

buccaneer morgan

David frum, who would write such a shallow ignorant piece.

Ann

My 2 cents:

I couldn't be more delighted that Palin has endorsed Trump.

For some reason, people think it is embarrassing to hear someone so passionate about family, God, and country. So what if she said dill instead of deal. :)

I think she is embarrassingly Delicious.

She also realizes Cruz is better for our country staying in the senate antagonizing the GOP. Think what President Trump and Senator Cruz could possibly get done.

Anyways, Trump is my General Patton! Like Sarah said tonight, "He Has Actually Built Something".

Also, ask yourself which GOP person has ever spoken up and defended Sarah Palin?

Trump

Miss Marple

Ann,

You have a good point. When Palin was out defending US (unlike Jeb Bush) Trump did support her.

Point Trump.

What is with the tendency to select some of these pols as a favorite who we don't know even slightly but who can never be criticized? I'm not referring to anyone in particular; just the general tendency.

This is frickin' politics where we are supposed to try to hire the least-bad-apple from a bizarrely ambitious bunch of busy-body fruitloops to do a profoundly corrupting job on our behalf without robbing us blind. We should look on all of these people as ex-felons and pea and thimble men who are being put in charge of the good silver when no one is looking. They aren't our friends; none of them, and they never will be.
They are to us as other nations are to each other; allies whose interests may coincide with ours or enemies whose interests don't.
It is enough if they just put the spoons back in the drawer when they leave. I don't need a friend in DC; I just need somebody who detests it as much as me. And if he happens to be a nasty, unpleasant fellow who knocks the hell out of my enemies who cares?
It's nice if they turn out to be honorable and jovial as well, but there only so many Ronald Reagans; only one as a matter of fact.
I just want somebody who wins and destroys the enemies of freedom.
I already have a dog, so I already have a friend.

Miss Marple

Ignatz,

I don't have a real favorite and try not to get emotionally attached, since the primary in Indiana isn't until May.

The two guys I likes the best, Walker and Perry, are out. So I pretty much am watching and reporting when I post stuff here.

I do detest a few of the pundits and consultants, though.

Ann

I agree with everything you just said, Ig.

How is your dog?

Love this: "It is enough if they just put the spoons back in the drawer when they leave." :)

glasater

Trump corrected O'Reilly this evening by saying "its the democrat party not the democratic party" to BO!

Swoon ;-)

--How is your dog?--

Hi Ann,
He scared the beejeebers out of me today. He doesn't like the rain so I took him for a walk while it was raining to get him used to it. He was running to and fro and came motorbaitin' at high speed back toward where I was with big bounds through a ground cover out here called variously Bear Clover or Mountain Misery. Kind of pretty but it has a pungent aroma and is quite tangly. He got about 30 feet from me and went ass over kettle into the Mountain Misery with yipes and howls to raise the dead. When I got to him he was on his back still yowling like a banshee and I expected to find a compound fracture or missing limb or something. I felt them all and they seemed neither broken or dislocated. He slowly stopped yelping still laying in the stuff on his back pitifully. I backed up a little and clapped my hands and the little doofus jumped up, shook himself off and started running around, albeit with a limp.
I guess he was more scared than anything.
Not even limping now a few hours later.
Thought sure we were going to the vet.

Ann on iPad

Ig, you were killing me with the dog drama until the end. ..now it seems kinda funny.
I don't think it helped with walking in the rain! ;)

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

He just dropped a tennis ball at my feet so it's time to play I guess.
He did however seem to enjoy the rain, even after the tumble.

Ann on iPad

I'm so glad you are enjoying your dog, Ig XO

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Yeah, I'm glad I got him.
I have wondered why it took me so long to get another one after Ernie died.
I was going through my old emails today and I found one to the breeders of Ernie and Chester in 2005 inquiring about a puppy and it was right when Mrs Iggy was diagnosed, so now at least I remember why it's been so long.

Miss Marple

Iggy,

Glad you got a new dog. My old girl is starting to show age and it makes me sad.

I think when she's gone I will adopt an old dog. People often ignore them.

Miss Marple

Time for me to head to bed.

Good night, all!

Strawman Cometh

Ig,
Brings to mind taking my Ventura in-laws down to back of the property to "see a creek-bed with water"

Strawman Cometh

Gotta say I was impressed with Kimmel taking on the Oscar-haters

Strawman Cometh

But I haven't watched the Oscars since they dissed Paul Rubens.

Strawman Cometh

He's on my mind as I just finished S2 of the Black List. Did that get an Emmy? Well, there ya go.
But Pee Wee, try as he might, was not intimidating

Ed Driscoll at Insty has a brief summation of why the Palin-Trump smooch up. Driscoll was too polite to mention that as a political Kardashian, Palin has clear financial reasons to invest in Trump who can open further reality TV doors for her. Like most things in life, just business, although in this case a rather craven bit of political business:

"Endorsing Trump gets Palin back into the spotlight, increases Trump’s bona fides with lots of conservatives and blue collar voters, and as Glenn noted yesterday, is a way for her to stick it to the GOPe, who never had her back in the fall of 2008 and afterwards. And it’s possibly a ticket to a cabinet position as well. This doesn’t exactly require complex rocket surgery to parse out."

NK

Also at Insty, good video clip of Rubio slapping down an anti-christian plant. Rubio is very good speaking on his feet, I wish he had more commitment to conservatism. I still believe Rubio-Carly would destroy Hilligula or SloJoe or the old commie (Fauxchahontas), and I think Rubio would be a good POTUS, IF he hired and listened to the the correct people.

Jane

No David Frum, Charlie Cooke. Maybe I posted the wrong link.

Sue

My husband and I saw 13 Hours last night. It really wasnt a political movie. Hillary was never mentioned by name or even as secretary. I know one thing. We have some badass ex military serving as security and I heart them. And I'm pissed Woods and Daughtery died. They didn't have to if someone had sent air support. Go see it if you haven't.

Sue

I am not a fan of Palin. I don't dislike her but her enforsementb of Trump neither hurts nor helps persuade me in my choice in the primaries.

narciso

of course, it's not political, anymore then Blackhawk Down was political

Sue

Narciso,

Ok, point taken. I hated Hillary and Obama even more after the movie.
