Well the Pope may be an idiot and a Marxist and an economic illiterate and a radical and a fool and a hypocrite and a troublemaker, but at least he ain't a pussy.

I expect lightning at any moment.

This supposed representative from higher authority doesn't understand that a war on cheap energy is a war on the poor.

Beasts of England

Pontificate as I say, not as I do.

Jeff Dobbs

It was close, I'm proud of our efforts, and I want to thank our supporters for their tireless and gracious work. While we went further than anyone would have possibly dreamed of at the outset of this movement, we ultimately came up short. In the end it is the voters who have the ultimate say in the matter, and they have made their voices clear. Today I am announcing the suspension of my support for Walter Iwachiw after he failed to get to double digits in the New Hampshire primary. Thank you and God bless the United States of America.

Skoot

Well, with Fiorina dropping out, Hillary is the only ... fatso left in the race!

If you extrapolated the cone of her mao coat to the ground it'd be 3 meters around.

Beasts of England

So I have to scrape the 'Iwachiw 4 U' sticker off of my car? Bummer.

common man

Sorry to hear Fiorina dropping out, although she is drawing a very small number of votes. She says what I think quite often, and is not the least bit fearful of putting the lumber to the Hildabeast...

Christie on the other hand needs to go away mad or otherwise. Next maybe JEB! and Kasich figure out that New Hampshire was their best shot and they got nowhere near enough there. I can assure them that there is unlikely to be friendly turf anywhere soon, including Florida for JEB...

Porchlight

Jeb is determined to get through South Carolina where I think he believes the GOP machine can rescue him. He is not going away too soon. I can easily see it coming down to Trump vs. Bush.

henry

Dang, Carly would be a great President. Maybe have her fill the ValJar role for a total butt kicking of the fed work force.

Porchlight

BTW a guy just got tased and arrested in my office a few minutes ago. Exciting. Glad it didn't happen in a public area or you would all be seeing film of it right now.

Why don't people put their hands behind their backs when asked? This fellow might be mentally ill, I guess.

Janet

Sorry to hear Fiorina dropping out

Me too. I usually voted for her in any online polls (not that they're worth much).
She was a workhorse....strong, confident.

It is disgraceful that she wasn't in the last debate.

Sue

Janet,

And she wound up outperforming Carson in the NH primary. She is pretty fierce and smart.

Miss Marple

The treatment of Fiorina is one of the many reasons I am disgusted with the RNC. They could have stood up for her, particularly since Rand dropped out.

Disgusting.

Thomas Collins

Everything quiet now, Porchlight? You OK?

Miss Marple

Oh, joy. Stuart Stevens will be on the Kelly File.

I think I will pass.

Miss Marple

The plot thickens!

Just in: Jim Webb to announce decision on indie presidential bid tmrrw.

Asked if he'll run, spox says: "I am as curious as anyone to know."

Skoot

"a guy just got tased and arrested in my office a few minutes ago"

That's what would happen to me if I had TS on an unsecure drive in my cubicle. But for Hillary, it's cool I guess.

Porchlight

Yes, all fine, thanks so much, TC! I do wonder if he might be back. He seems more of the vaguely menacing transient type than anything else, and we see those fairly often. Our office and service desk is right in the frontline.

Thomas Collins

Webb is probably a bigger threat to the GOP to take away a few thousands votes in a battleground state that could make the difference. C'mon Ralph Nader! Give it another try! Sanders is just an impostor! You're the true "movement" man!

Thomas Collins

Glad to hear things have calmed down, Porchlight.

Webb could save big on campaign costs; just plaster the "Jim Webb is the Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread" billboard right across his forehead and walk around, with room left over for "Wern the Bitch*" underneath.

*Sorry Rocco.

a partial fisking,

there is also a conflation between private charity and governmental power, in the pope's mind, but he is a peronist,

henry

A view into the deranged minds of lefties who also work for the government, spotted by our Chitown Lurker. DA Chisolm's world. Unsealed documents from his latest WI SC loss.

Dave (in MA)

On the Howie Carr show they were talking about what you might hear on a date with a Bernie Bro...

One suggestion was, "You make me want to be a better gender-neutral."

Porchlight

Just watch Portlandia to learn about the lifestyle and habits of Bernie supporters.

daddy

Geraldo: I'm a Lawyer. There's no crime there.

At least a dozen email accounts handled the “top secret” intelligence that was found on Hillary Clinton’s server and recently deemed too damaging for national security to release, a U.S. government official close to the review told Fox News.

lyle

I tried to watch Portlandia. It was a painful three minutes.

narciso

I've only seen the ads, there are real people like that,

Porchlight

lyle, I hardly ever watch TV, but I watched a couple of episodes last night. It had its moments. Personally I don't think it goes nearly far enough in making fun of these people.

I have a thank you for my support email from Carly.
I am not surprised--they have been prompt with them all along.
Her remarks besides that thanks are as posted on FB.

I do hope she actively campaigns for the eventual nominee. She does an outstanding job of clearly defining the problems and advocating the conservative solutions.

narciso

there you go,

Iggy, I did 30 years in a medium security prison. There isn't much I haven't seen or heard for that matter. You don't offend me, my concern was for the ladies out here.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--Personally I don't think it goes nearly far enough in making fun of these people.--

Considering it is made by lefties making fun of lefties it's amazing it goes as far as it does. It's kind of amazing they could even assemble enough lefties capable of making fun of themselves to produce a show.

Captain Hate

Chisolm certainly makes the case for what a menace to the country a rogue prosecutor is; and for public hangings.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--Iggy, I did 30 years in a medium security prison.--

Was that the full sentence or did they parole you early for not swearing?

Porchlight

Maybe that's why it's the same two people in every skit, Iggy. But yeah, I've had the same thought. I think the creators probably considers it a "valentine" to Portland, kind of how the Coen Brothers said they thought of Fargo.

Janet

Portlandia can be very funny.
THe bike rider with a whistle...living in a tiny house....having a meltdown over a dog tied up outside a restaurant. Very funny.

The problem is that it doesn't seem like parody anymore. Portlandia characters are our neighbors. :(

Porchlight

My neighbors too, Janet!

Captain Hate

I'll always appreciate Rocco reporting how well the male Amirault was regarded behind bars while enduring his scam conviction.

lyle

Seriously, Rocco? You did time? Huh.

There were a lot of long faces at Fox News Tuesday night, but there's a silver lining for Marco Rubio. Now he can go be a bartender like his dad! (Have you heard him tell the story about his father being a bartender? Rubio was his pop's best customer after the debate.)

He can wear a flowered shirt, tell yarns about his father, and if he's asked to make any complicated concoctions: JEB CAN FIX IT!

Gov. Chris Christie will always be remembered for the noble service he performed for his country Saturday night. He must have known his campaign wasn't lighting the world on fire, but he was damned if he was going to stand by and let that pretty-boy mountebank win...

...It was one of the most riveting moments in campaign history. Suddenly, everyone felt what the rest of us have been saying all along: I want my presidential candidate to have reached puberty.

Trump should make Christie his attorney general...

Coulter's doing a good job of burning every bridge she's ever lurched over.

Just messin with Rocco, lyle.

good question

NK

I was a Coulter fan in the mid-late 90s (OK she was haut and grew up in neighboring New Canaan so I was a natural fan), but she is increasingly loopy. In fact I am a bit concerned that Mark Steyn follows her loopiness trajectory, he's showing some signs.

new lurker

Had a chat with my daughter in NYC this afternoon, and she told me she and her husband (who has always been a big lib) are voting for JEB! in the primary. She thinks Rubio is a robot (which I have always thought, but saw him being interviewed this afternoon and he seemed not robotic and very charming). She said if either Trump or Saunders win, she and husband are leaving the country! I do so hope that disaffected voters will not drift to JEB! Cannot imagine anything worse.

NK

Abingdon, just off I95 and adjacent to Aberdeen proving ground. Baltimore suburb, Capt H must know it well.

lyle

You pulling my leg, Janet? Okay, I picked up roadside trash one weekend many years ago. You know which crew I was with...

lyle

I'll bet you saw a lifetime of things in that milieu, Rocco. One can only imagine...

Inside ain't outside.

Among my other high crimes was a violation of the Green River Ordinance.

Captain Hate

That's a bit to the northeast of some of my old haunts, NK.

Within the last month, Tammy Bruce mentioned that she used to regard Coulter as a friend until she ridiculed a tweet that TB made (I'm not sure it was so much wrong per se as ill advised) with a snarky retweet to the world instead of sending her a personal note advising her on what the full story was. Like a friend would do instead of a backstabbing shrew.

Jack is Back!

Coulter burns her bridges in front of her. Her schtick is old, demeaning and like MoDo no relevant value as to issues and solutions.

Miss Marple

I sent all my Coulter books to Goodwill. I have no interest in her opinion any more.

She is all about face time on TV and shock value.

Not interested in her opinion at all.

Rocco

You wouldn't believe me if I told you lyle! I've had urine and feces thrown at me, I've been spit at. I've had shanks pulled on me and swung at with a softball bat and ball peen hammer. I was hit with a chair and did 3 years in The Hole. I've been sued by a con who was trying to take my house so I can certainly weather the jabs thrown at me out here. Besides, I've been known to dish it out too.

Captain Hate

She thinks Rubio is a robot (which I have always thought, but saw him being interviewed this afternoon and he seemed not robotic and very charming)

I've noticed the same thing to the point that I'm not sure what to expect in any setting. Which is not a good thing for a major pol.

Jane

Rocco, I too really appreciated your report on Amerault. The media made him look like such a beast.

Oh and I miss you.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Rubio seems to have a 'speaking in front of large groups' issue going on.

narciso

the second anchorman was mildly amusing, so did mckay's first jab at the financial crisis,

well it can't be worse, then depp's tonto impression,

Rocco

I miss you too Jane!

Janet

You pulling my leg, Janet?

Yes. Just jokin'.

Jeff Dobbs

Of course Janet's never done time. She's got Free to Be Lawless tokens for every time she knocks over a 7-11.

NKonIPAD

Just jokin'? Bummer I was conjuring a janet in orange jumpsuit mood. Now it s gone.

MarkO

I saw Backstabbing Shrew open for the Stones at Altamont.

Jane

You guys are starting to see what I saw in Rubio when I met him. I keep trying to paint him with your brushes and they just don't work.

henry

NK, you never know with those biker chicks.

Dave (in MA)

I had detention a few times.

Captain Hate

Janet had me going because she's been brutally honest regarding how she was on the sauce.

lyle

It was sauce and a Porsche 911SC that led to my trash-picking-up-roadside days...

Janet

Hah! I'm a pretty pathetic biker chick on my beat up, little 250. I got a bigger new 650, but I like my old one better. (don't tell my husband)

Gentlejim

Porch,
Sounds like an exciting day in the office. Hope no one got hurt. I also hope that didn't happen in the federal 4th circuit. If the guy was an edp, officers are supposed to talk to him nicely until he decides to cooperate. Can't use tasers on mental subjects anymore in the 4th. A brilliant decision because we all know that talking to crazy always works. Reasoning with the unreasonable. It's like talking to progs.

Porchlight

Thanks, Gentlejim. I didn't mention that this poor fellow had been served with a criminal trespass warrant two days prior. So he was supposed to understand that he wasn't allowed on the property. I doubt he has any official diagnosis, as he seems to be fresh off the bus from the DC area, and an African national.

The officers did talk to him for quite awhile on Monday, but when he showed up again today they moved straight to arrest, politely, of course. We are in Texas, so 5th circuit, I think.

Madness.

The urge to close the institutions ensured that mental illness would increasingly be treated by law enforcement and by bus tickets.

Porchlight

So true, Madness. My super lefty co-worker wondered if the guy would be committed. Um, no, folks ensured that was virtually impossible (and then blamed Reagan for it).

Keys to the Citydel.

I'm madness and I can't takeness it any longerness.

Dion

When can I take up residence in Vatican City? Oh, and some free healthcare, being my right as God's borderless child, would be nice. And don't forget the internet access.
