--Iggy, I know about the Trinity - I was referring to the extrapolation from Matthew, which comes up in every P v. RC argument.--

Yeah, I was responding to whoever else responded to you. I can't remember who it was.
The force of the argument, given the context of the verses, I must admit escapes me, but to each his own.

Stephanie

I dove headlong into the new consultant gig and I'm sure the IT people here will love this. I spent the better part of last week trying to decipher a 30 table data base cause the Ukrainian devlopers created 90% of the dbase with terms like "id" "id1" for every linking field and "value" "description" and "info" "info1" for all the other fields. YIKES!!!

I've now written a detailed data mapping diagram and sent explicit instructions to have the developers rename every [redacted] field and table. The client is a non profit trade assn and have NO one on staff that had any idea. They were sending the developer instructions on what they wanted and didn't have a clue what they were getting.. but the web interface (which was 30% reporting bad info that no one could figure out why) sure was pretty!

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Geez, I kind of liked old Claude from the trucker series he did with Frank Converse; Movin' On, IIRC.
Had a great theme song by Merle Haggard.

Another fallen idol with feet of clay after all.
Great story, whoever you are.

narciso

yikes, speaking of brilliance, how about a hp notebook, that they said had a full office suite, but they didn't include the cd with the product code, is competence such an extraordinary demand, apparently,

Stephanie

Bought another HP notebook last weekend myself and got the client to agree to license the Office 365 instead of having to purchase it. ;)

Then as I was going through the new laptop and doing about 30 things at a time, I set up the new laptop, created the login password, installed team viewer so my son, a network admin with a large ATL presence, can do my maintenance and get all the stuff interfacing nicely. I get off of the remote access with him and wait for the slow loading 365 download to finish from MS and reboot the computer...

go to sign in and realize I wrote down 1/2 the login password. Spent the next few hours trying a gazillion combos of the half I remember and the half I don't and figure I have a 'brick' and it's back to factory resets and call the son with egg on my face. Got up the next morning and texted him... he networks in and in 2 minutes comes up with the password and logs me in. Turns out the 4 digits I wrote down plus our street number (which is could have sworn was what the password was) was it BUT I had added an exclamation mark to the damn thing. He thought it was funny as [redacted]. Me, not so much...

narciso

dejavu all over again, I bought it from a third party vendor, you think he might be able to help out in this situation, called the manufacturer's tech support, who inturn referred me to microsoft,
which of course said of course you don't have the product code, sorry about that,

Dave (in MA)

Good night, John Boy.

henry

Stephanie, wow! I haven't seen file naming like that since I was a CASE tool product manager in the 80s. (The tool had an option to put sensible names instead of A00001.A1, but the users never found that setting).

danoso

Trump's 'picture worth a thousand words' stunt was a scummy as it gets.

DrJ

Your daily Wretchard:

https://pjmedia.com/richardfernandez/2016/03/24/wolfpack-vs-bot/

Lone wolves vs. Wolfpacks.

Free James D!

This is the most upsetting and depressing sentence in that Wretchard piece, because it's so obviously true:

a struggle where the West strives to avoid victory as devoutly as defeat

Buckeye

exactly JamesD, leads to foolishness like this:

The Belgian police have also been hampered by bizarre rules. According to Belgian Justice Minister Koen Geens, just two days after the Paris attacks Abdeslam was "likely in a flat in Molenbeek." But because of the country's penal code, which prohibits raids between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. unless a crime is in progress or in case of fire, police were ordered to wait until dawn to pursue him. By then, Abdeslam was nowhere to be seen.

Captain Hate

That artificial intelligence crap about guiding potential jihadis into being the mythical moderate rock worshippers sounds as ill conceived as every Repuke entreaty to the oxymoronic persuadables.

Buckeye

CH

It isn't that mind control isn't possible, just damn foolish to think our government could pull it off.

It would be as effective as our VA.

Miss Marple 2

danso,

Apparently you haven't seen Twitter. We haven't begun to plumb the depths of scummy, and Trump isn't the only malfactor.

Captain Hate

Buckeye, I'd prefer to send some bottled sunshine to Mecca as a much more efficacious way of the government dealing with the situation.

Captain Hate

Levin must be spending too much time on his tv show because last night's podcast was a poorly produced piece of garbage with ABC news embedded along with bumper music which went on way too long.

Miss Marple 2

Capptain Hate,

I would say that had more to do with breaking news which came out yesterday evening.

Miss Marple 2

http://www.dw.com/en/brussels-attacks-the-shocking-incompetence-of-europe/a-19142099

danoso

MM -
Yes, I stay clear of twitter, my info comes from what others report is on twitter. But if other candidates have issued something as ugly as Trump did, I haven't seen it. I don't care what supporters or PACs are writing - this came straight from Trump's fingertips. He's a vile human being.

Miss Marple 2

danoso,

I am trying not to antagonize anyone but the National Enquirer has a breaking story on Cruz. There is back story on this feud. You should probably do some internet searching.

Miss Marple 2

http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/cincinnati/pilgrims-pray-the-steps-up-to-mt-adams-church-in-longstanding-good-friday-tradition

henry

Its getting crowded around here. His Trumpness wont show up until next week -- and he will be in Janesville (Ryan's hometown) next Tuesday. Otherwise both Cruz's, Kasich, and The Omen are wandering around looking for beer and cheese -- or perhaps a fish fry.

Buckeye

The West will be facing serious soul searching in the not to distant future as to exactly how to bring the muzzie threat under control.

What ever conclusions, it will be very difficult to have any meaningful success in a country like Belgium where 25% of greater Brussels is muzzie and they only have several thousand people in the military.

henry

Of course, Loon #1 will be in Madison Saturday.

squaredance

The West will not solve this problem until it shows its own Globalists the door.

This "crisis" in Europe is not some "force of nature"; it is completely contrived, and no it is not caused by misguided "virtue signalling".

NK

danoso explains why I will not vote for Trump or any man like him. Praise God, I cannot think of a single conservative who is like Trump.

NK

henry-- The Bern goes to Madison? Quelle Surprise!

henry

From twitter: BREAKING NEWS: Explosion heard during police operation in Brussels borough of Schaerbeek:

henry

NK, i hope he is dumb enough to schedule his rally during a UW NCAA game. :)

NK

Globalists may not be the correct description, but I agree until Americans and Euros shit can (H/T GUS!) our elites who hate their own culture and history and their own native compatriots far more than Jihad, we are on course to lose this war of civilizations without a fight. In the USA, Obummer and Kerry are the first to be shit canned (oddly, I think Sanders actually likes his country and compatriots more than they do) In Utopia, every politician and crat in the EU has to go. Then we can get after the Journos and University apparatchiks everywhere.

NK

henry-- actually, he might be clever to do that. That way he'll know only true commie kidz will show.

Hilligula of course will go to a womens' sporting event on campus. wink wink, josh josh.

NK

Wait... It is now Good Friday so swearing is OK... right?

Captain Hate

Kasich needs to wake up with a severed mailman's head in bed. Unfortunately the only lowlifes scummy enough to do that are bankrolling the goof's quixotic quest.

danoso

I'm not try to piss people off either, MM - understand I don't spend every waking moment online. I'm like a lot of folks who get much of my news from quick top of the hour updates and a few minutes at various sites. It's just amazing to me that some can't see the obvious - just how horribly that Trump tweet is playing.

Captain Hate

Hey danoso, I thought our Terps got worn down by a better and more experienced team last night. I hope Stone and Trimble come back for another year because I think all would benefit from it. I thought the program progressed this season if you consider that maybe our early expectations were a bit too high.

narciso

Lector emptor, as I reminded the huntress fanclub in line. The threehouse are too rabid to deal with.

danoso

I'll take your word on that CH - I fell asleep at 8-7. Had to get up early all week - I knew I was doomed with a 9:45 tipoff. It would be nice to get those two back, we'll see.

Porchlight

danoso,

I hear you, but in context it was in response to Cruz dirty tricks. The Melania ad was coordinated with the Cruz campaign. The Heidi photo Trump tweeted in reply was also bait, which Cruz took. Then the Enquirer dropped the hammer.

Three of the Cruz women have now been identified. One used to work for Cruz and now works for that Carly PAC which the Cruz PAC mysteriously gave $500K to. And one works for Trump. Trump has had all of this ready to go.

Cruz is going to make Gary Hart look like a genius before it's over.

Jack is Back!ll

Belga news agency reporting explosions result of police action in Schaerbeek but no details whether controlled explosion or homicide bomber, etc.

More arrests coming in Germany, France and Belgium.

I am still waiting for the Eurocrats to get off their collective socialist, accommodating assess and ask us for strategic and tactical help. They can't handle this at all.

Porchlight

I hope they do ask and I hope we help them, JIB.

narciso

Take our own gov luthor, the one who flumoxxed on morning joke, well he may be the model of how an unpopular candidate wins, but the follow through is the concern.

Captain Hate

So far all I've heard Belgium do is tell the Jews not to celebrate Purim yesterday, the Euro default. Let me know when they ban Ramadan.

narciso

This is the problem, Michel tried to turn the titanic, jambon is vlaams, if memory serves, but the bureaucracy is still in carbonate even after a year.

narciso

The first time I heard of their securite etat, was in reference to the bio of the asset they shared with the French service.

squaredance

WEll what eer happens over this latest attack in the EU, they are still treating it as a police action; they are still loading up Europe with even more invaders. They will now crack down even more on citizen rights--watch the Parties and their figureheads who want to roll all face open, legal suppression.

There will be more an more of these incidents as time goes one: all of the EU could become a Beirut. These "arrest' are cosmetic, and outside of genuine and immediate security concerns, are mostly meant as a sop to current political pressure.

Soon will come the calls to grant even more power to the EUocrats. All part of the standard statists' playbook.

If Europe, as opposed to the EU, is to survive it has to get the invaders out--all of them. The wise would start this now before it truly get bloody.

narciso

Doc brown went on his honeymoon to russia, and was part of the sandernista frequent flier program, red queen cheered the cop murdering Panthers and this is a thing for her.

narciso

Addendum at yale law, alinsky's star pupil, who she had access for her thesis.

NK

Andrew Klavan lays out unfortunate realities. Is he calling for a new crusade? https://pjmedia.com/andrewklavan/2016/03/24/a-mad-and-holy-week/

narciso

Well he may insist on libel law reform, before it's all done.

Cecil Turner

I'm all for sensible immigration policies (and Steyn's book on this America Alone captured the idiocy quite well a decade ago), but the bottom line on fighting a war against Islamic extremists is that it needs to be fought where they live. And the current ISIS crisis is a direct result of premature withdrawal from Iraq. The solution is left as an exercise . . .

narciso

They don't go by our calendar but theirs, in this case the month of jumada, the folks who blew up massoud prior to 9/11 lived in molenbeek. Qutada who nassiri came across lived in london, so did moussaoui for a time.

narciso

Steyn the prophet of our time, predicted this sort of escalation to the outer ring of the security zone.

narciso

The problem with the premise of the main thread is what Moynihan called defining deviance down, why is narcotics consumption need to be made acceptable.

NK

"premature withdrawal from Iraq" turned out to be a temporary retreat, according to WaPo the are 5000+ USA combat troops IN Iraq as we speak, and some are right now providing direct artillery support around Mosul. There was a reported KIA this week. Obummer has proven his own idiocy (or worse) by having 5000+ combat troops in place fighting a vicious enemy he created by his temporary retreat in 2011. What a bastard he is.

narciso

Yes except the top men, including maverick decided to give him the keys to kingdom, just like the citizens of gotham, in a bout of mad cow, did so to mayor bane.

Porchlight

How do you keep the presence of 5000 combat troops in Iraq hidden from the American public? We don't even have a semblance of an independent press.

NK

WaPo finally did report it late last week. Ask your friends if there are any USA combat troops fighting in Iraq RIGHT NOW. They will all say no way.

narciso

Truly the hipper has a hard time hiding 50 advisers in el Salvador.

NK

To Narc's point, is there any Congressional authority for the adventure in Mosul? Is there authority to wage war against ISIS?

squaredance

Well it is being fought were they live: in the EU.

That is just the point.

narciso

Chris Nolan showed us what the war will look like, with an enemy that does care how he slaughters and in with venues.

NK

There is no ISIS resolution, and Obummer has asked for one, but not pushing it. Congress is as bad as Obummer on this.

RIF

"I hear you, but in context it was in response to Cruz dirty tricks. The Melania ad was coordinated with the Cruz campaign."

Is there credible evidence of this? Are there any actual accusations of this outside of "wink wink" it-must-be-true speculation and Trump's twitter feed?

narciso

because they saw what he did with the approval for the counterinsurgency strategy in afghanistan kneecapping first mcchrystal, then petraeus, then
general flynn, who put the intelligence network togwther,

the footage in some places of tuesdays atrocity, was in some places of a similar event in Volodya's dirty war, that spilled on the airport, 5 years ago,

Buckeye

I for one, don't plan on getting caught up in the debates about which of the current crop of candidates is the "better human being".

They are all politicians or wanna be politicians, that right there tells you what you need to know.

I don't plan on voting for someone because I think I might like to "friend" them sometime in the future.

What I want is someone who will effectively deal with the steaming crap piles. If it turns out the best person is a Neanderthal to the right of Attila the Hun, I will be fine with that.

If anyone here catches me violating my non-debate plan in sentence one, you have my permission to whack me upside the head with a 2x4.

BlueOx

according to WaPo the are 5000+ USA combat troops IN Iraq as we speak

Unpossible!

Iraq forced us to withdraw by not agreeing to a SOF!

My betters have explained all of this to me several times.

NK

There is no way what to know what Trump will do with power, no way. The best assumption is he will do whatever he perceives is best for Trump. He's lived his entire life that way.

narciso

did I say 5, I meant 12,

Domodedovo Airport has been the focus of two terrorist-related incidents. In 2004, Muslim suicide bombers managed to pass airport security, board two passenger planes, and carry out the bombings after departure from Domodedovo. Despite the heightened security measures taken after this incident, another suicide bomber attack occurred on 24 January 2011, when an Islamist militant entered the terminal building and detonated a bomb in the arrival hall. As a result, mandatory screening and pat-down practices have been introduced at the airport terminal entrances.

the late anna politskayaya, wondered how the first slipped through, in such a tight gauntlet

NK

UNpossible indeed, and yet......

Cecil Turner

according to WaPo the are 5000+ USA combat troops IN Iraq as we speak

An almost perfectly wrong number: too few to fight; too many to lose. Even for a peacekeeping mission we'd need more (e.g., Korea is at ~30K).

With regard to swearing and the end of Lent, my momma, (RIP) admonished that there was never/never/NEVER/NEVER a good time to swear.

Then I joined the Navy...

As mentioned last night, am trying to better my behavior and clean my language. As dear momma would say, if you cannot say it with out swearing, maybe you should go back to school.

I thought she was going to swear at me when I said "it."
