Jeff Dobbs

Welcome to the party, TM.

Jeff Dobbs

Trump up 12 with 26% in in Kentucky - up 42-30.

But Louisville and Lexington can change everything.

Also so far - the eastern counties have disproportionately reported. Those are more the coal country/Trump counties.

Race should tighten. But at this point I'd bet on Trump for the win.

OH AND BY THE WAY: Ben Carson has over twice as many votes as Rand Paul.

Theo

From other thread:

This from Nate Silver:

The counties reporting so far represent about 18 percent of Kentucky’s population, rather than 26 percent.

narciso

I was mentioning in the other thread, I came across the kim barker memoir, that was the basis for tina fey's latest exercise, it really does suit her, she was the barker's version of mo dowd or gail collins in kabul,

Jeff Dobbs

ME delegates....

Cruz 12
Trump 9
Kascih 2

daddy

Jane,

My take is that when Mitt come out last week demanding that Trump release his Taxes, because Mitt had heard "bad rumors" about them, it was so reminiscent of Harry Reid's slimy performance on the Senate Floor when it was done against Romney, that it came across as gross hypocrisy from Romney and put a very bad taste in peoples mouths about him, so that people were already primed and ready to angrily tell Mitt to "STFU loser and go to Hell" when he followed that hypocrisy with the Anti-Trump speech. I think people's anger in this case is justified. I know that's my co-worker's take.

Jeff Dobbs

That's another majority delegate state for Cruz for the purposes of Rule 40. His third such state.

Maine. Cruz got a majority of delegates in . . . Maine.

Threadkiller

IVR!

MarkO

Duke loses to UNC. No wonder Cruz is doing so well.

It's entirely possible that Cruz is indeed the greater destroyer of the GOPe. In any event, the GOP will never be the same and I'm not remotely sorry.

Go Ted!

The power blew in my hotel room this morning as I was cycling thru the Chinese channels looking for Election coverage, so while the worker guys are trying to fix whatever blew up I'm up in the Executive Lounge now under a large CNN TV screen that I can't turn off@#$.

Hope they get it fixed quick.

Two hours to go and no sign of a last push by the Aussies - it's still 66-30. Fingers crossed that it's clinched, but just in case...

Daddy @ 8:51

That's pretty much my take, too. Also add in that Romney be ER spoke as freshly about Obama (or Reid, or any Dem) in 2012 as he did about Trump in that speech.

daddy

Here's some tweets from the guy who should be our RNC Chairman, Dennis Miller:

Dennis Miller
I got to know Mitt just a sliver during the last election. I liked him and he was a fine man. Unfortunately, I must now add another thing I know about him. He's a hypocrite. Ouch, hurts to type it.

Dennis Miller
All right, all right, I get it. Our side canibalizes itself and Hillary wins. Now if you still want to destroy Trump for shits and giggles, have at it, you ass-kissing RNC morons. Hey, hows about this? Why not let everyone who meets the criteria run then count their votes. If they have the most votes you run them against the other side.

Dennis Miller
For years I have to watch Republican Establishment asshats refuse to vociferously engage people and policies that have this country deep in the shitter and only now they've decided to shoot in their own tent like it's a Pekinpah film. A pox on the RNC.

Miss Marple

I having seen the fulsome praise given to Trump by Romney in 2012, I was struck by how either he didn't care about Trump's supposed character then, or he was lying in that speech.

It's one or the other.

I know we have suspected that the political class is a closed club out for their own interests, but it is sickening to watch.

I am watching English murder mysteries on Netflix. I need a break from all of this.

Sanders wins Nebraska

daddy

The airbrushed pix of Hillary posted at CNN on their "Hillary Wins Louisiana" Board is unbelievable. She looks about 32 years of age, beautiful hair, big lovely smile, and not a crows foot or wrinkle within a hundred miles. I bet when the cameras are off Wolf Blitzer will run up and kiss it.

The Hill:Sen. Bernie Sanders has been projected to win the Nebraska caucuses, according to news outlets.

With 75 percent of the vote in, the Nebraska Democratic Party reported that Sanders held 54 percent of the vote.

While there are only 25 pledged delegates up for grabs in the state, it adds an important win to Sanders’s victory column as he seeks to regain momentum in the fight against Clinton.

The angry, grizzled pantsuit giving the victory speech in Louisiana now on CNN looks more like Christopher Walken than the picture posted on the CNN Victory Board I mentioned above.

I am watching English murder mysteries on Netflix. I need a break from all of this.

I'm watching a not particularly good NBA game (certainly not even close to the level of last Saturday's barn burner) for a break. Btw Levin did an excellent job of refuting Trump on the need for H1-B visas. The Uniparty has really screwed youths with STEM degrees on this.

James D.

I am doing the BBC House of Cards. I prefer my reptilian politicians to be fictional.

I would totally vote for Francis Urquhart.

Louisiana will be Trump. Threshold for delegates there is 20%. It's reeeeealllllyyyyy early - but watching to see if Rubio hits 20 there or not.

The media are masters at choosing (and changing) photos to make their friends look great and their enemies look horrid. They've been doing that on magazine covers for decades. Now it's moved along to other forms of media. AOL's front page is full of Hillary looking most unlike her real self and Trump and Cruz looking like serial killers.

It's so transparent you would think they would be laughed off the planet but the beat goes on...

Jeff Dobbs

KY down to a 6 point race...Trump 38, Cruz 32.

Is KY a closed primary? If not, we may see some evidence of AA crossover for Trump when Louisville comes in.

DebinNC

Rubio, Rubio, wherefore art thou, Rubio?

daddy

Here's Tom Tancredo's take on Mittpocrisy. Mitt Romney’s Gift to Hillary Must be Condemned

Romney’s arrogance in trying to stop a horserace at the half-mile pole was exceeded only by his nastiness, as if he were a prosecutor reading an indictment.

Romney could have endorsed a candidate and pledged his help to that candidate. That would be honorable and even admirable from a civic point of view. But instead, he chose to throw a stink bomb, like a selfish, angry teenager who wasn’t invited to a birthday party.

Similar to Dennis Miller's take.

Theo

Nate Silver just said that the networks should rescind the call of Louisiana for Trump!!!

Porchlight

I see why Romney did it but it was wrong to get involved in that way. Absent Trump, if he'd done it to stop a Cruz candidacy, people would be howling for the same reasons and rightfully so.

narciso

the internals re issue preference will be interesting,

Momto2

I can't seem to advance the vote total in James D's poll. Is this voter ID dirty tricks? I resent being disenfranchised!

sbw

Porch, After a few votes it stops counting for a while. Rest for five and try again.

Gentlejim

KY and LA getting tight. Happy to see Cruz getting results.

Momto2

Voting still works for me Porch. I think you have to stop for awhile and then try again.

Porchlight

Yeah, I have seen that but it seemed like I'd waited long enough. I'll wait longer. I'll miss this poll - it's soothing to vote over and over again and nice to have one's votes count so much. ;)

Gentlejim

The easy polls site has been goofy. I voted most of the day Friday without any real delays. Other times it would stop logging after 2 votes.

Early congrats to JamesD. Hope the video turns out well and is profitable for you.

narciso

until the wallaby invasion, his lead is safe,

After seven years it is nice to have ones vote or hundreds of votes count. 👍🏻

James D.

There's only 19 minutes to go, so I am beginning to feel safe...

Porchlight

If you'd been hanging out with the guy I have for the last 3 weeks, you'd have tossed in the towel on night number 2:)

FWIW, my co-worker and his wife hosted Tom Tancredo a few years back for some political shindig, so he'll be interested to read the Tancredo piece I linked above when I show it to him tonight.

Skoot

Good night for Cruz. Nice to see a fight for it.

I'm just back from a Les Paul celebration by members of his former trio, Lou Pallo, Frank Vignola, and Gary Mazzaroppi. Smokin.

I can't believe anyone would just cheat to get more votes on that poll--it so uncivilized.

Rick Ballard

"it so uncivilized."

Perhaps. OTOH, the $1 a vote James promised is gonna pay for a nice dinner.

Checks are still being mailed on Monday, right James?

narciso

they've forced out howard and his protege, in a span of 10 years, it's no longer crocodile dundee territory,

Now the goal is to get the last vote before the poll closes.

narciso

what could possibly go wrong:

James D.

It was a pint of whiskey per vote*

* if practical, and pursuant to federal, state and local laws

Gentlejim

Wasn't there a promise of whiskey or have I confused that with something else? I'll take the whiskey.

clarice

If we don't henry can just show us how to dos that darned poll ruined by those cheaters.

Gentlejim

JamesD,
Those pesky laws only count if they're enforced. Ask Hillary.

sbw

Hmmm. Not sure why I can still vote. Oh, well. Bedtime.

Nitey night!

James D.

The deadline I was told has passed, so I have to assume I'm the winner.

Due in huge (or maybe yuge) part to the generous and kind efforts of y'all. Iam so grateful, and just blown away by it.

The pint of whiskey may not be practical at the moment, but I will ask Jeff to pick me out two names from his master blackmail file JOM contact list and I'll send out a t-shirt to one and a signed paperback to the other as a thanks to y'all.

Rick Ballard

JamesD,

OK. Whatever. That will be eight barrels and three pints. Same address.

daddy

Trump in his live victory speech is telling Rubio to drop out now and saying that he would love to take on Ted Cruz one on one.

Now he's joking about having weathered so many nasty and well funded attack ads. And now he's stressing how many new voters are turning out in the Primary Elections as compared to previous Primaries and how that is the good news that we ought to take away from tonights and the other Primaries.

He's coming across measured, thoughtful, and optimistic, and making valid criticisms of the GOPe Establishments errors. I think his supporters will be reenergized by what he's saying tonight. Now he's doing some quality Hillary bashing, criticizing her new Campaign motto of "Make America Whole" as ridiculous and inferior to his "Make America Great Again!" motto

And now he calls the Press "dishonest" to big applause and asks to take questions from them.

On to Florida!

James D.

Gentlejim, sadly I'm not a Democrat officeholder or major Clinton Foundation donor, so I suspect the laws probably still apply to me!

Gentlejim

James,
Hahaha. Very true. Congrats.

Texas Liberty Gal

GUS

Porch, you were only disenfranchised because you are black.
James D, I voted several hundred times. I only did it because Hitler was born in Austria, and those Austrians were getting too close to beating you! Obama speaks Austrian.

clarice

Per CNN the delegate count is relatively unchanged
Trump 375
Cruz 291.

James D.

Well, GUS, you showed those Austrians!

daddy

The high tone of his speech is not being maintained during the shouted Reporter questions:

Currently a reporter is asking Trump doesn't he have a responsibility to control the people who come to his rally's? Trump does decent attack dog replies as the reporter asks the same question over and over again, so Trump reminds the crowd that Bernie had 2 protesters come up on stage and take his microphone away, so why is the Reporter only attacking Trump for supposedly bad people at Trump rallies.

Now the same reporter is asking Trump about talking about the size of his manhood---the crowd boos and Trump criticizes the reporter for bringing up the topic. The crowd cheers. Trump blames Rubio for bringing up the topic. Trump replies he is strong and has big hands and can hit a golfball 280 yards---then moves on.

Now he is answering questions on Water Boarding comments, and he is explaining how ISIS plays with different rules than we do and we're foolish to tie our hands behind out back when dealing with the viscousness of ISIS.

Anyone else watching this?

Pierre Poutine

Congrats to the Canadian Cowboy for winning two small caucus States and losing again in the South...his firewall. LOL. Bernie also does better in caucus States. The bad news for both of them is the general election has no caucuses, the good news for both of them is neither will make it to the general.

GUS

Payback for Pearl Harbor James.

Rick Ballard

"is relatively unchanged"

I'm seeing Cruz reducing Trump's lead by 16 delegates today. With the lead currently at 84, that's not "relatively unchanged" except in Trumpworld.

daddy

Now Trump answering questions about Romney and Trump says Romney is a choker and he jokes that he, Trump, "was thinking about picking Romney up with these very powerful hands." Crowd laughs.

Mainly criticizes Romney for being a choking candidate who didn't have what it took to win in 2012 and still doesn't.

Now a Talking Head on CNN (short haired Lesbian type I can't recall her name) says Trump is going to reinstate Internment camps in the US, and racist, bigot, etc.

Appalling but predictable.

Gentlejim
