Seven years of White House lies about a Winston Churchill bust culminate in an Obama confession and an "ain't it cute" story in the Times.

I detest Forrest Trump and will not vote for him because:
1. He has all the maturity of a 15 year old boy. He does not have the temperament to be the President. He is too impulsive.
2. He has no core philosophy other than what goes through his mind at a particular moment.
3. He is intellectually last. He is unable to discuss any issue beyond talking points. I am still waiting to hear the logistics of the deportation, why entitlements do not need to be reformed or how we are going to take ISIS' oil. Hell, he still does not know what the Triad is.
4. I believe in the rule of law, he does not ("I am going to open up the libel laws" was a major red flag me.
5. I believe in free markets - he does not. Instead of forbidding Ford to build in Mexico would it make more sense to figure out why Ford believes it is advantages to do that as opposed to Kia, BMW, et Al who are investing billions in building cars here?
I believe in the rule of law, free markets and free thought. Forrest Trump does not.
Forrest has been a savant at getting attention. The issue is that, if elected, he will have to govern, although, given his inability to close the deal within his current party, that is not a likely scenario.
On the 60s Batman show, Bruce Wayne had a bust of Shakespeare that could be tilted back to reveal a switch that operated the secret doors providing access to the Batpoles leading to the Batcave.
AFAIK there's no Douchecave at the White House, however.
So now even the NYT mocks Obummer's pathetic lies. When things get really bad, yes they will get worse because of the course Obummer set, with the $20+TRILLION DEBT, Obummercare, jobs, GDP and of course Islamofacism slaughtering the innocent (HELLO SHIABOMB!), the NYT and all of the Obummer apologists will quickly turn heel and bury Obummer. Progism/Appeasement isn't the blame, Obummer was just a foolish man who couldn't get it done. WE NEED FAUXCHAHONTAS! This little NYT story calling out Obummer is just a quick test run.
On one point, I think you're wrong - opening up libel laws. Sullivan vs. NY Times hasn't been the law of the land all that long, and there's no reason it shuold be set in stone.
I don't think I'd have a problem with changes to the libel laws that would allow George Zimmerman to end up owning a chunk of NBC, or the victims of the UVA rape hoax to put Rolling Stone out of business.
As a Cruz voter in the primary here, I must say I am extremely disappointed in him. As for Kasich, bah! I really, really have a problem with him--his manner, his "holier than thou" personna, etc., etc. I, too, like many here voted for Romney, McCain, Dole, etc. with never much enthusiasm--will vote for Trump with enthusiasm IF Cruz/Kasich allow it! What a mess with their joining together to stop Trump!
"Current White House officials said the Churchill bust had been replaced with one of Dr. King, but the Oval Office still has a Lincoln bust as well, perhaps leading to the confusion.
After all, one White House official noted, Mr. Obama did say the Oval Office could get a little cluttered."
I think a Canadian who has not proven he is eligible is still better than Hillary. The fact that he was either too dumb or a calculating genius when it came to him not knowing he was Canadian until a third rate reporter informed him in 2014 doesn't seem to bother his loyalists so why should I be concerned?
He could keep getting more sleazy and maybe make me not vote for him, so I don't want to rule out the horizon.
I don't understand all the bellyaching over Trump. If I could overcome the birther issue that I have been so passionate about, why can't the fanatics chill out just long enough to realize that Hillary would be worse than Trump?
I gotta admit that I'm very disappointed in Cruz forming an alliance with Kasich against Trump. If anything he should be blaming that goof for siphoning votes away from him.
Can we all agree that Reince Priebus should be locked in a burning building?
It is not a fact that Trump makes Rodham a lock. They both have extremely high negatives and it's possible that Trump could make her look like a drunk stumbling buffoon in a debate. She might also win, for whatever reasons, but in no way is she a lock for it at all.
Fine service to the nation, maybe, NK, but loss for winning The White House. So many "principled" people willing to lose to Hillary just to prove a point! Very sad.
I will vote Republican if Kasich is the nominee, but ONLY because Hillary is an evil person and I do not want to see Bill Clinton shambling around the White House looking for a new crop of interns.
I intensely dislike Kasich for his staying in the race to game the system. I didn't like it when Huckabee did it to Romney, either. I also am tired of his prattling about how we have to agree with him or we won't get to heaven, and his "aw shucks" demeanor to cover a ruthless streak.
Ohio is going to have its economy turned upside down when the bill for that Medicaid expansion comes due. I wonder why it is that no one in the Kasich-backing crowd (or Cruz supporters, for that matter) aren't bothered by this.
I do not trust anyone who works out his salvation on the taxpayer's dime.
However, Hillary is so evil and corrupt he will get my vote if he is the tomato can of this election cycle.
I just don't see all of those new voters flocking to his cause though. Trump is someone they believe in. So I don't see where Kasich will get the votes to win, regardless of what the polls say about his electability.
One thing that baffles me are the polls that say Kaisch is the only one who can beat Hillary! Who on earth are the pollsters talking to? Seems "fishy" to me.
Narc-- to the Progs the cause Progism is the most important thing, people merely serve the cause. Any problems are the fault of flawed men, not Progism. Look at what the Soviets did to Stalin, and the ChiComs after Mao, they claim the disasters were man made not Progism made-- the HAVE to say that. Same thing will happen in Cuba and Venezuela, when they defenestrate Raul and Nicky, the Commies will con the people with stories that it was Nicky and Raul's incompetence that created the disaster not communism. And they will get away with it, at lease one more time.
It is not a fact that Trump makes Rodham a lock. They both have extremely high negatives and it's possible that Trump could make her look like a drunk stumbling buffoon in a debate.
No doubt Trump will go after her aggressively. The old hag is pretty fast on her feet though, so if it requires Trump to be quick witted, he might stumble.
On the other hand, she could easily whip out her schlong and start stomping on it.
Only thing I am confident of is that the crap is going to get knee deep by November, and way too early to say what you will or won't do.
The Republican Party has done this to US, to themselves and to America. We are to blame as individuals as well.
We trusted them. They are weak titted, pathetic crap weasels. We voted them and trusted them. The term RINO is invalid. Those who currently rule and operate the GOP are the GOP. We've always believed that RINO's were not REAL REPUBLICANS. THEY ARE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

Why is it Nazi-like to register immigrants to this country? Isn't that what we THOUGHT the Immigration and Naturalization Service was supposed to be doing all along?
cuando? when Fidel goes, Raul gets the Fredo Corleone treatment. The Commie 50 somethings want to grab some of the USA enviro tourism trade swag so they can retire to Jane's Island.. or Bolivia. Caracas? The disaster/chaos is spreading fast, the colonels have the long knives out... there is not much to loot right now, so it's a long-term oil/gas play. It will be a way back machine to military dictatorship 1950s crony capitalism in Caracas. Yes mayor bane, who I think I should rename dagett, is in a spot of trouble, but until there's another scorpion waiting in the wings, perhaps bhaara himself?
Preet for Mayor? Interesting concept. Personally I thought Cuomo would primary Bane and Preet would run for Guv. Pray God, Bane is a one term creature.
I could see a Cuban general saying to himself, I can see Fidel getting the lion's share of the skim, ... but Raul? I think he's out, as in made out and the hard case commies take all of the spoils. Why pay a Raul tax?
from the NYT link - "“I see it every day, including on weekends, when I’m going into that office to watch a basketball game,” he said. “The primary image I see is a bust of Winston Churchill. It’s there voluntarily, because I can do anything on the second floor. I love Winston Churchill.”"
We will probably be hearing about the New York flyover too...gotta clear up some of the lies before the next administration takes over.
That is true. I saw it in an article this morning. They aren't out of cash, but donations have dropped quite a bit, way beyond what they were getting before.
I don't see how this deal/no deal thing helps either one of them and all it does is confirm that people are plotting against Trump, which feeds into Trump's "game is rigged" line.
USA Today: "A U.S. government employee, who was editor of an LGBT magazine in Bangladesh, was hacked to death by assailants in the capital Dhaka, according to media reports. A group of assailants Monday stormed the home of Xulhaz Mannan, a staffer for the U.S. Agency for International Development, killing him and a friend, police told The Daily Star. (Snip) The Islamic State claimed responsibility for Siddiquee’s killing, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, based in Washington, D.C. The Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL, accused him in a statement of "calling to atheism," the BBC reported."
MM@11:38 with something I can agree with... at last. Cruz is no lock either if he blocks Le Donald. In fact, I think Kasich would have a better shot because GOPe see him as more electable and as payback to Cruz. GOPe's problem is that Repub voters don't like Kasich; no problem, the donors will sort it out at the convention, and will nominate someone more electable than Cruz and far less conservative, Cruz gets Atty Gen and Le Donald gets?? what? Gitmo? he can do a great resort there.
If the Fox chatter (noted by glasater at 11:29 AM) is correct, this is a shotgun marriage between Cruz and Kasich to pool resources. At this point, however, a far more effective approach would be for Cruz and Kasich to run as a team. Of course, that's easy for me to say, but Cruz and Kasich sorting out who will be top banana and who will be underneath would be tough.
NK, I posted that as a reminder what results when an entire people forgets the difference between good and evil. In that one paragraph, that lesson can be seen from about three different angles.
The hell with the Final Five, Red China taking over the South China Sea, Kim Jong-un's big ones, Puerto Rican insolvency, Zika virus, Vlad Putin's continuing expansionism, and all the rest. Our Chitown observer has clued us in to something really important.
NK, at least we got a good beverage named after the Bourbons...more than you can expect from Obamamaniacs or any other noun having the letters "obama" within it.
Today's movie suggestions: 1) "The Searchers" on TCM at 1 p.m. today. Well worth having in the bin as it never grows old, no matter how many times I've seen it. 2) "Trouble With the Curve" ~6:15 p.m. on HBO, which is free today in my area. Very heart-warming with Clint Eastwood at his crusty curmudgeon best and the adorable Amy Adams as his daughter.
Searchers is a superb film. John Ford at the height of his powers and using Wayne to great effect after finding out he could actually act. Probably too much comic relief, but for a 1950s film so intense, it's understandable. Never gets old. The closing scene music/image is one of the great cinematographic metaphors of all time and utterly American.
Standard labor law decision focusing on deference to the arbitration process. Just as Judge Berman's decision in no way "vindicated" Brady, the Appeals Court's decision in no way "convicts" Brady. The linked article contains a link to the decision.

Do not underestimate Trump on his current tactics. Like a lot of his stuff, they are as effective as a kick in the redacted, and just as corrosive:

New Lurker
So Trump has convinced you since you voted in your primary.
How?
Posted by: maryrose | April 25, 2016 at 11:22 AM
In about three previous posts I have said Let the people decide.
Posted by: maryrose | April 25, 2016 at 11:23 AM
from the NYT link - "“I see it every day, including on weekends, when I’m going into that office to watch a basketball game,” he said. “The primary image I see is a bust of Winston Churchill. It’s there voluntarily, because I can do anything on the second floor. I love Winston Churchill.”"
We will probably be hearing about the New York flyover too...gotta clear up some of the lies before the next administration takes over.

Smartest President EVER...basketball games, Game of Thrones, interviews with Fruit Loop girl, skeet shooting (hah!), dancing on TV,....
What a genius.

I heard in passing on a Fox show that Cruz and Kasich are running out of campaign cash.

"I love Winston Cigarettes" fify
Posted by: GUS | April 25, 2016 at 11:30 AM
glasater,
That is true.

This is all about getting a contested convention - not about getting Cruz the nomination.
I said it before and I will repeat it, they will not nominate Cruz if Trump doesn't reach 1237.
Cruz thinks he can game this and win it, but I don't think he can get the numbers of votes he needs to win on a second ballot.

Three reasons listed.
The fourth reason, of course, is that Kasich just said that Indiana supporters should vote for him.
I am amazed at this entire thing. Trump should point out that these two can't even negotiate a deal. LOL!

I said it before and I will repeat it, you do not have a clue what is really going on in this election cycle.
Posted by: Truthbetold | April 25, 2016 at 11:49 AM
If the Fox chatter (noted by glasater at 11:29 AM) is correct, this is a shotgun marriage between Cruz and Kasich to pool resources. At this point, however, a far more effective approach would be for Cruz and Kasich to run as a team. Of course, that's easy for me to say, but Cruz and Kasich sorting out who will be top banana and who will be underneath would be tough.

From PPP about Ct: "In Connecticut Clinton has a narrow edge at 48/46, thanks in large part to a 63/24 advantage among African Americans."
Dollars to donuts that is from Guv Employees and SEIU hospital union members. Ct is lousy with both.

Gay bars, massage parlors, "art" museums. These are all important economic activities folks!
Posted by: Buckeye | April 25, 2016 at 12:20 PM
Old Lurker,
I am interested in why we have gay activists under pay to US government in countries where this is a capital offense.
1. Did this guy pass a security clearance?
2. Was his magazine published with the approval of the State Department?
3. What in the heck is going on?
Posted by: Miss Marple 2 | April 25, 2016 at 12:22 PM
Searchers is a superb film. John Ford at the height of his powers and using Wayne to great effect after finding out he could actually act. Probably too much comic relief, but for a 1950s film so intense, it's understandable. Never gets old. The closing scene music/image is one of the great cinematographic metaphors of all time and utterly American.
Posted by: NK | April 25, 2016 at 12:23 PM
3. What in the heck is going on?
You will be told what you need to know.
Now move along, nothing to see here.

Standard labor law decision focusing on deference to the arbitration process. Just as Judge Berman's decision in no way "vindicated" Brady, the Appeals Court's decision in no way "convicts" Brady. The linked article contains a link to the decision.
