The Times notes that some SEALs think that discretion is the better part of SEALdom:
Rift Among Navy SEALs Over Members Who Cash In on Brand
This illustrates a bit of over-promotion:
Eric Greitens’s bid for governor of Missouri hinges on his experience as a Navy SEALs member, which he has chronicled in three books and promotes on his campaign web site, where he is pictured wearing his combat uniform, holding a rifle. “In the SEALs we learned, ‘there is no prize for second place in a gunfight,’ ” he said recently on Twitter.
Golly, he learned that in the SEALs? I picked that up as a casual viewer of westerns, although as a student of the classics I would note that the rule has exceptions.
I am uncomfortable with that SEAL who keeps popping up on Fox and who shot bin Laden. I can't explain why, either.

Rift Among Navy SEALs Over Republican Members Who Cash In on Brand.
It is a non-story for anyone but the prog media. Once they found out that an ex-Navy SEAL was running as a republican for governor then its important to know this. Everyone knows that SEALS are only these mythical war fighters because of the courage of Obama and Biden to elevate their ability, visibilty and success to everyone in the world.

Thanks for Panama Papers link. Shared with my friend in London, where the Brits are ever so thankful for our FBI finally nailing these criminals to the wall. Awarding the world cup to Russia and Qatar were so blantenly fraudulent that the Brits went ballistic.
Next I hope we can deal with the IOC. If was FIFA and IOC that I think are the template for the Clinton Criminal Enterprise.

I am surprised that President Obama in his ESPN picks did not tout my University of Alaska Anchorage Lady SeaWolves to win the Division II National Basketball Championship tomorrow in Miss M's 'berg of Indy at 3 PM Eastern, 2 Central, on your local CBS Stations.
In their magnificent run-up to the Finals, my gals whipped the Christians of California Baptist University, pummeled the "Swamp Foxes" of that Southern College named after a militant White Revolutionary Slave Holder, Francis Marion University, and are now set to clobber the Christians of Lubbock Christian University.
One might have thought that'd be enough for the president to give a nod to my gals, but I guess he's still bitter, since in the opening round we demolished the Social Justice Warriors of Cal State University---Dominquez Hills, and at a time when their professors are threatening a strike, it's during Cesar Chavez Week, and it's smack in the middle of their Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Watts Riots.
Sometimes I guess there just ain't no pleasing a "Race Monger."

Miss Marple, Re: Al Frankin running as Hillary's VP.
I vaguely recall that back during the 2nd Clinton/Gore Election campaign that Frankin on some SNL or Comedy Show suggested a joke Campaign ad titled something like "Clinton/Gore" with the subhead
"We never robbed a Liquor Store!"
And I also recall that during the affair Lewinsky, he and an SNL buddy put out a funny poster for some upcoming fictional Show, that was a photo looking from the rear thru the spread apart legs of a guy who was supposed to be Bill Clinto. Clinton's trousers were down around his ankles, and in the distance was a startled Monica look-alike gal, staring with dropped jaws, at "Willy."
That said, it makes perfect sense for Frankin to now be the enablers, enabler.
Unsurprisingly I am unable to find either of this images on Google.
And for the record, do you think if Trump was to immediately start mispronouncing Cory L's last name as "Lewinski" instead of "Lewindowski" the MSM would instantly drop the topic?

TK, to answer from the last thread (and I'm sure this is fascinating stuff for everyone else :) ), I'm very careful not to touch the halogen bulb when I put it in. There's no dimmer, the fixture is not enclosed (so that the heat can escape. In the past I've had those bulbs last for years in this fixture. I was thinking something was dodgy in the wiring because before the bulbs blew, I'd flip the switch and sometimes the light wouldn't go on, then I'd try later and it would go on. But as I said, what I know about wiring and electricity would fit on a postcard. Or maybe a postage stamp. In any case, I just replaced the one that blew out after a week, we'll see what happens.

I was talking about the difference in the MSM reporting of the 2 phrases, not the meaning of the 2 phrases.

Posted by: Threadkiller | April 03, 2016 at 05:49 PM
JIB has it just right: It is only about Republican (or anyone slightly right of center) who was ever a SEAL. Actually, it is not just SEALs, but anybody whoever served the country as a member of a group that has any sort of good repute with the general public at all, though military combat units rank high here.
It could be about being in the USMC, a fighter pilot, or a Ranger.
It could be a fireman.
BTW, telling voters of one's SEAL experience is hardly "cashing in", but it does show the Dems notion of what politics are really about. If there were Democrat candidates who were SEALs, you can bet that we would never hear the end of it. No why is it that we do not have many Democrat candidates who were SEALs? How many Purple Hearts did Kerry get? I cannot remember.

I'd flip the switch and sometimes the light wouldn't go on, then I'd try later and it would go on.
Time for a pro to come over. The fixture may have a thermal protection device that is taking a dump, but it could just as easily be a loose wire or a bad switch.
If you have a good sniffer, you can root out a switch that is on its last legs by the zorched smell alone, but I strongly advise getting this looked at sooner than later.
Did you see MT's recommendations? Good stuff.

Just started catch-up, and see this about post presidency speculation on Obama from the prior thread.
I wouldn't be surprised if he (Obama) got an hour-long talk show on MSNBC.
Yesterday caught the last hour of Kudlow on weekend Talk radio. Was too angry to post about it last night, but in short, he was exasperated that Trump would go on a Show with Chris Matthews. When his panel agreed and criticized Matthews, then Kudlow rose to Matthews defense, claiming he was a great guy and a really good friend, who just happens to have liberal opinions. (Guess he forgot about Chris making his guests contribute to Matthew's sisters campaign) Kudlow sees no malice whatever in that slime ball.
Then the guests ask Kudlow why isn't he doing the interviews on CNBC with Trump instead of letting that jackass Matthews do them. Kudlow mumbles, "we're working on it, we're working on it." What the Hell? He's been at that stupid network for 20 years and he can't get off his duff to do TV interviews so the Right can get their economic plans or talking points etc out there to the public---instead he letting Chris Matthews do it and then criticizing people for going on Matthews show?!? Why haven't you done it Larry?
I wanted to ring Kudlows neck. Still do.
Then in the next segment he has on Betsy McCaughey (she's great) and Moore and the others, and when Betsy brings up all these great points about New York State killing themselves with new Taxes, and Trump being endorsed by the Border Patrol, and the White House censoring French Prez Hollande's use of the terms "Islamist Terrorism", Kudlow, befuddled once again, asks in exasperation why the MSM isn't bring thing this go stuff up that helps Republicans and only concentrates on stuff negative to Republicans?
I guess he should go ask his good friend Chris Matthews that question---I hear he's a really great, great guy.
Kudlow delenda est. He's a moron:(

Women back Cruz over Trump by a 19-point margin (46-27 percent). The two candidates are much closer among men: Cruz gets 40 percent to Trump’s 35 percent.
So as much as I have heard from certain posters about Cruz not being likeable, especially among the distaff voters, what does this say about Trump and likeability?

Incidentally, for fun I answered a phone poll today, by some outfit in Virginia with a name like RPC. The structure of the questioning was ostensibly: 1. Demographic info; 2. Party identification and voting preference; 3. Impact of information about candidates' policy views or statements on voting preference.
It turned out that item 3 consisted entirely of a series of controversial statements by Trump presumed to make him look bad: "Women who have abortions should be punished," "I am a big fan of single-payer health care," etc. After each of these, there was a question: "Does this make you more, equally, or less likely to vote for Trump?" Since I had already said I was most likely voting for Cruz, I generally said "equally."
So I'm guessing this was a Cruz or Kasich operation, though I don't know what would have happened if I'd answered the question about party ID with "Democrat."
Posted by: jimmyk | April 03, 2016 at 07:56 PM
