Newt is a good spokesperson for our Party.

The former House speaker broke from his party leadership on the Hill by stiff-arming the budget drafted by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and passed last month in the House.

"I don’t think right wing social engineering is any more desirable than left wing social engineering. I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate."

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/gingrich-keeps-ryan-budget-at-arms-length/

I think he is a good spokesman for honest conservatives.

Miss Marple 2

Centralcal,

Thanks for the ratings numbers. Ailes must be picking up viewers due to the controversy, which is fine for his business plan,I guess.

Maybe I just got sick of all news coverage, although Kelly making herself the center of the story is really annoying to me, but I suppose that's not widely felt.

Well, now when I cancel cable to save money I won't feel so guilty. Fox is why I got cable to begin with, many years ago.

Captain Hate

Maybe we should rename it the Kelly Infomercial Channel.

Centralcal on iPad

Maryrose, the ratings for Megyn's special will impact only the Fox broadcast network, not the Fox News Channel - two different entities, just to be clear. :-). Her special is airing on Fox, not FNC.

I'm starting to understand Mr. Trump's pre-emptive strikes on Hillary for enabling Bill's "women problems." He must have seen this coming.

Exactly right, cheerleader. He has been nothing short of brilliant in his anticipation of those that oppose him.

And, he has been crazy like a fox. So much so, that it gives him wide latitude to deal with the nonsense they will surely toss at him. In my opinion, he has completely robbed them of their greatest power (to greater effect than Reagan via the "there you go again" line) and that in this day and age is nothing short of miraculous.

Captain Hate

clarice, Wallace and Woodward were both extremely irritating. The good news is that Priebus has been acting like you'd expect a responsible party leader to behave; a welcome development IMO.

Captain Hate

RattlerGator, his prior knowledge of operating within the media has been well played, as did Reagan.

Miss Marple 2

RattlerGator,

Don't think I have met you before. Hello!

One thing I wondered about was that phone call from the 90's, supposedly to be Trump impersonating his publicist.

Maybe it was, but I also heard a rumor that he released it to the WaPo himself.

There was some speculation that it was a fictional person by certain reporters o Twitter.

Now today there is a picture of Trump and Melania with the supposed fictional person, Jim Miller.

So I got to wondering if he knew Miller's voice was similar to his and just gave them the audio tape to see what they would do.

If that is correct, it would be pretty funny.

On the other hand, I don't care if he did imitate his publicist, and to have to make that into a huge scandal when the dems have a candidate who lied about the deaths of 4 Americans which were due to her failure to secure the consulate, is pretty desperate.

I continue to have a great deal of respect for Bret Baier as a FNC newser - unfortunately his show airs while I am still at work so I rarely see it. I don't care enough to DVR it. I have given up on FNC in the evenings and don't watch at all. The only exception was during the debate season and I didn't watch all of them.

Great article linked at Insty about the transgender madness. It would be SO nice to see a national GOP leader say this:

Kids try on the oppositite gender identities the way they try on the identities of dinosaurs, kitty cats, elves, and dragons -- each of which they can never be. When children think they are birds, we do not support them by attaching wings on their backs and telling them they can fly. We know if they seriously try this, they will end up with broken limbs or far worse, at the foot of the cliff they hopefully launched themselves off of. Why do we think that turning a male into a female would be any less disastrous?

Centralcal on iPad

Re "woman problems", is there any doubt that HC was deeply involved in the drafting of BC's nationally televised denial of "sexual relations with that woman - Ms. Lewinsky" and 8 mos later his "Indeed, I did" confessional in which he mentioned "Ms. Lewinsky" and "Monica Lewinsky" while whining about the harm the saga had done to the unnamed "my wife" (3x) and "my child". HillBilly are both despicable, but accusing Trump for private behavior while never admitting the harm he/she/their surrogates did to ML publicly and repeatedly is beyond the pale.

Are they okay with threatening to withhold funds to schools across America?

How is a girl "thinking" they are a boy different from an anorexic "thinking" they are fat?

Make THEM explain.

Are ANY hard, foundational questions being asked of them?

from a Breitbart link - "Wildmon said the Target representatives were unapologetic over the policy but struggled to explain to him exactly why they suddenly decided to announce the policy in the first place.

“I asked them what precipitated this? Was there a clamoring of men in women’s dresses who were upset because they wanted to use the women’s dressing area? They said they were responding to their customers,” Wildmon said."

a comment at a PJMedia article on the transgender agenda from awhile ago. I've posted it before -

NoDakNative - "As someone who suffers from mental illness, I see the whole issue of transgender as little more than abuse of the mentally ill. One day we will look back on it with equal horror that we look back at Lobotomys being done to the mentally ill.
When I told people I was seeing and hearing things that were not there, people tried to get me to seek treatment.

When a 25 year old woman weighs 80 pounds and thinks they need to loose 30 more, people try to get them to see they have a problem and get treatment.

When a man says they really are a woman, people say they are right and should have their bodies mutilated until they kinda look like a woman.
Those of us with untreated mental illness are a pain in the ass to work with. It takes a lot of time from someone who is a part of our life who is caring and supporting, but who refuses to affirm their delusions, in order to get us turned around. I was lucky to have someone like that. Not everyone is."

Message Subject: Time to get on the Trump Train
Message Text:
http://conservativetribune.com/powerful-house-members-trump/

You may have already endorsed Trump and Google just isn't helping me, but enough of the Hamlet act from the GOPe-- It's time to support the presumptive candidate and start getting the truth out about Crooked Hillary and the Ds.

Somehow, what happened to Cantor and Boehner seems to have failed to get through to folks inside the beltway-- Jeb! was not who people wanted; keeping him in for so long allowed this to happen.
Trump wasn't most of our first, second or tenth guy/gal, but he is who we have, and we need to start looking like we have a clue as to what is going on here.
If he is elected, Congress will need to man up and start doing what they are supposed to do by controlling funding--not bankrolling an out-of-control President, as you just did.
And we know the MSM will be all over Trump, all day every day, instead of being a mouthpiece for the DNC, so the "fascist demagogue" is unlikely to become another Stalin or Hitler.

And we will have the hope of keeping the fifth socialist off the SC, rather than the certainty that it will happen, as is the case if the Ds win this presidential election.

We have to go to war with the Army we have. Tell Ryan to get out the Weinermobile he drove last time he had a private sector job, and lead the way.
Did you see the poll that came out the other day that showed Trump has support from 55% of Hispanic citizens who intend to vote? No surprise to me---

WAKE UP UP THERE!! I know it rained for nearly two weeks in DC--but the sun is shining now, and a new day has dawned.

the right to perform Black Masses in the National Cathedral,

Been there, done that. 2014 -

"The Islamic “jummah,” or Friday call to prayer, would be held on America’s grandest Christian stage – the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

It was a bold move that had never been tried. Leaders of the Episcopal cathedral said sending prayers up to Allah from a Christian church would show the world that two religions at odds with each other for centuries could “approach the same God” as one body of believers.

The stage was set. The prayer rugs were neatly arranged facing Mecca. The lights shone down on the imam for his opening remarks."

Thanks for the link, MM. I remember my dad telling me about this:

The engine had two sets of contact breaker points and, to reverse, the engine was stopped and then restarted, going backwards. This was effected by pushing the key further in the ignition switch than normal, whether intentionally or not. One result of this was that the KR200's sequential, positive-stop transmission provided the car with the same four gear ratios available in reverse as in forward movement.[6]

Cruise ladies are in Passau southeast Germany, ready to disembark and head home. Sounds like they had a very good and interesting cruise, and that makes sense given the times and their shipmates. Jane mentioned how amazing to pull into Passau and see graffiti reading "Nazi Brotherhood". Interesting to me in that Passau seems equidistant in a not too big triangle with Munich and Saltzberg, both towns my Dad's Unit liberated in early 1945. Jane mentions the cities and landscape have been gorgeous. Ok, the nice Nurse put drops in and my eye feels wonderful. Doc should bi in in a minute to tell me to put the damn iPhone down:)
