from the 11:13 legal insurrection link, Nero's defense attorney:

“The problem is they tried to make a case out of whole cloth with regards to Miller and Nero right from the beginning. They were the face of this case – this Freddie Gray case – because they were the ones who were on video, they were the ones that the public got a whiff of early on and yet, their cases were the weakest cases for the state to present.

I think what happened was is the state’s attorney decided she was going to charge someone and worked back from there. I don’t think she got the evidence and worked up to the conclusion that these individuals should be charged. I think she decided that somebody had to be charged. Obviously, it had to be Nero and Miller because they were the first ones [on the scene], they are on camera, they are these white guys taking down this black guy, and I think that is where they went wrong – right from the beginning in charging Officer Miller and Nero, especially Officer Nero and MIller of these charges.”

http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2016/05/only-islam-can-save-us-from-islam.html

But the Obama/Petraeus narrative about needing partners in Muslim communities in America implicitly concedes that Muslim communities at home, like the Saudis and Pakistanis abroad, create environments in which Islamic terrorists can safely operate. They admit the existence of Islamic no-go zones where the FBI and local law enforcement are ineffective so that we have to treat parts of Michigan or New Jersey like Pakistan or Iraq, trying to work with untrustworthy allies to gain intelligence on enemy territory.

We have to work with CAIR or ISNA, the way we do with the Saudis or Pakistanis, even though they’re untrustworthy, because they’re all we have in parts of America that have become enemy territory.

This argument is terrible enough in the Middle East. But it’s horrifying in the Midwest.

It’s bad enough that we sign off on “partners” who finance terrorists and then pretend to fight them in Syria or Afghanistan, do we really want to be doing this in Illinois or California?

The real problem, as Obama and Petraeus indirectly concede, is that Muslim communities create an ideal environment for Muslim terrorists. The last thing that we should be doing is building them up.

So why are we?

Theo

maryrose --

"Obama is throwing out orders left and right to cobble together a legacy."

I think I would amend that to say "Obama is throwing out orders left and far left....."

lyle

Do read the whole thing, bit here's some more:

Even if Muslim communities were an asset, the Obama/Petraeus narrative is that they benefit us by helping us deal with the problems that they cause. The obvious question would be to wonder why we need them in the first place to help us cope with a problem that wouldn’t exist without them.

Obama insists that we need Muslim immigration so that Muslims will help us fight Muslim terror. But if we didn’t have Muslim immigration, we wouldn’t need Muslims to help us fight Muslim terrorism.

Muslim immigration isn’t a solution. It’s a problem posing as a solution. And we are told that we need to make the problem bigger in order to solve it. Muslim immigration has yet to reduce terrorism in any country. The increase in Muslim populations has not made Europe any safer. On the contrary, it has increased the risk of terrorism. The same is also true in Africa, Asia and across the Middle East.

The plan to reduce the risk of terrorism by increasing the Muslim population has failed around the world. Nor has it ever worked in the United States. What are the odds that it suddenly will now?

apparently, those signatories to the conference with zuckerberg, follow the first rule of fight club,

James D

From that Daily Caller link above:

Most importantly, he would prevent Trump from getting anywhere near the White House. America might suffer under a President Clinton. But a President Trump might well prove a threat to the American system itself.

HOW?

Can someone who is NeverTrump please explain to me how Trump threatens the American system more than Hillary does?

I mean in a serious, practical way, how can he possibly pose more of a threat? Yes, he could issue an endless series of executive orders and try to turn the Presidency into even more of an unaccountable, unconstitutional mess than Obama and the Democrats have already made it.

But who would carry out those orders?

His cabinet secretaries, who have to be approved by a Senate that will be a lot closer to 50/50 and might even be under Democrat control?

The first layer of people under them, who will be appointed by Trump but in reality will be chosen by his advisors (people like that noted tyrant Jeff Sessions)?

The rank-and-file executive branch employees, who are overwhelmingly Democrats and leftists?

When those executive orders end up in court, as they inevitably will, they will be weighed mostly by judges appointed by Democrats (who have held the White House for 16 of the past 24 years). Is it really likely that a largely leftist judiciary will allow Trump to further shred the Constitution?

And all those orders will be scrutinized under a high-power microscope by the press, in a way that Obama's activities are barely even glanced at. Can anyone seriously dispute that?

What else might a President Trump do to "threaten the American system?"

Propose and push legislation to relax libel laws? If it's done via Congress, well, that IS part of the Constitutional process, and Sullivan v. NY Times is only 40 years old, so hardly a central foundation of our country.

Move in an anti-free trade direction? That may be bad policy, but it is not a threat to our system of governance or our fundamental values. It's a policy choice, and one that has gone back and forth over our history.

Restrict immigration and try to deport large numbers of illegal aliens? We've restricted immigration before, dramatically. Again, hardly a "threat to the American system."

What exactly do you people think he will do? Show up at his inauguration in a flowing purple robe and declare himself Emperor Donald I, Lord of the Americas?

I would say that four more years of utterly corrupt Democrat rule, with the full support of the Federal workforce, a green light from most judges, and little to no investigation by the media, is infinitely more threatening to our system of governance, and frankly to our survival as a free and prosperous nation, than anything Trump could possibly do in anyone's worst nightmares.

lyle

https://pjmedia.com/michaelwalsh/2016/05/22/monsters-from-the-id/3/

This dovetails with James D @ 2:02:

But unless something even less likely than Hillary getting indicted by the federal government occurs, Trump will be the GOP candidate. Those who suspect there's some underlying trick behind the Trump candidacy -- that he's a Democrat mole, trying to throw the election to the World's Worst Candidate, Hillary -- are kidding themselves. He is who he is, and you can choose either to vote for him, or not. I have no dog in this fight; if not voting for Trump satisfies your higher moral principles and lets you sleep at night, be my guest.

On the other hand, if the thought of Hillary Clinton -- whose Id rages even more furiously than Trump's -- as president doesn't terrify you, I suggest checking yourself for a pulse. Mrs. Clinton, filled with hatred and a lust for vengeance that would put Hagen to shame, would rampage through the American government like none other, Obama himself included. Obama, after all, only hates America as founded, and wished to "fundamentally transform" the country according to his second-hand socialist whims. His revenge was learned, generic; he will be thrilled to have the sucker taxpayers keep him in style for the rest of his life, and then some.

But with Hillary, this time it's personal. All the rejection (from her husband, and from the voters) is about to go critical, and the explosion will be something to behold -- from far away, which is where I plan to be. It's your vote, and it counts as much as anyone else's. But this year, it's not about ideology. It's about us.

Yep. (bold is mine)

clarice

jimmyk, they said they just could order insurers to provide contraceptives free to those covered without making the Sisters file a thing. Something they should have done had they not wanted to coerce religious organizations more than they wanted this inexpensive coverage.

Cavuto has on this guy
Congressman Jim Jordan, to discuss

IRS Commissioner Koskinen refusing to Testify to Congress tomorrow:

Cavuto: The big cheese at the IRS is on the Hot Seat tomorrow, only he won't show up...Congressman Jordon, I guess he's a "no show". Right?

Jim Jordan: Yeah, well I mean frankly Neil, if I was him I wouldn't show up either. When you allow 422 back-up tapes to be destroyed containing potentially 24,000 E-Mails and you do that with 3 Preservation Orders in place, 3 Orders to preserve all documents and communications, and 2 Subpoena's in place, and you allow that to happen, I wouldn't want to come in front of Congress either again to talk about that very fact.

Cavuto: Your argument is that he's not been very proactive, he's not been responsive to Subpoena's and the like, and that he should be impeached. Do we know of an Agency Head ever being impeached from his job? We came very close with the Labor Secretary Ray Donovan if he had lost a Court Case---He was ultimately exonerated under Ronald Reagan, but this would be fairly uncharted waters, wouldn't it?

Jim Jordan: Yeah, It's been 130 years, but when you have this kind of egregious activity, first you've got to remember their underlying Offense---they went after people for exercising their Free Speech Rights. There 1st Amendment Political Speech Rights. They went after them for their Political beliefs. you never can lose sight of the underlying Offense. And then when Mr Koskinen was brought in to clean up the mess, he, once again 3 Preservation Orders, 2 Subpoenas's in place, allowed documents to be destroyed, he knew when he testified in front of Congress, he knew that there were problems with Lois Lerner's Hard Drive and E-Mail, and yet he waited 4 months to tell Congress that he knew about those problems, and then he did it on page 7 of a letter he sent to Senate Finance, where he says "Oh, we're not going to be able to get all her E-Mails, so we think he gave false Testimony to Congress. We gave him an opportunity to correct the record---he didn't do that. And so when you have that kind of record, that kind of lack of help, and lack of assistance, and lack of doing what the Law requires, we think he should go, particularly when you're the Commissioner of the IRS.

Cavuto: How does this go then Congressman? The House, where the votes would be, certainly within your Committee, to Impeach. The House, lets say, follows up and recommends it, does it go to the Senate? What's the process?

Jim Jordan: Well that's the process, but we're a long way from that. In fact tomorrow is just the first Hearing about reacquainting the Judiciary Committee with the basic facts. And in a couple weeks we'll have in the Legal experts who will talk about the Standard, and some people thing the Standard should be a Criminal Intent Standard, when in fact we don't believe that's what the Constitution requires. We don't think that's the Standard necessary, and all kinds of sharp Legal minds agree with us.

Cavuto: Well wouldn't it have to be like a High Crime and Misdemeanor akin to what we have for a President?

Jim Jordan: Yeah. Breach of Public Trust, Dereliction of Duty, certainly Mr Koskinen was engaged in that kind of activity.

Cavuto: Thank you Congressman, this will be fascinating to watch.

Rush is really harping on the news that Hillary herself made $21 million in speeches between 2013 and 2015.$21 Million.

Worth recalling that this is the gal who in the 1980's was deducting something like $2 off her Taxes on each pair of Bill's underwear that they donated to the Salvation Army.

Thankfully they have raised Chelsea ($65,000 per speech), to not care about money. Chelsea Clinton: "I tried to care about money but couldn't"

And it's also comforting to know her Husband also doesn't seem to care about money---especially other peoples money: No apology, no rebate! Chelsea Clinton's contemptuous husband Marc Mezvinsky has ‘nothing to say’ to his investors (some Hillary contributors) despite losing 90 percent of their millions Nearly $25 Million

But when Daily Mail Online approached Mezvinsky outside his $10 million Manhattan apartment he refused to discuss the Greek tragedy – or reveal why their firm, Eaglevale Partners, took so long to close it down.

The Stanford graduate also declined to issue an apology to Eaglevale investors, who are said to include a string of wealthy Clinton backers and campaign contributors.

lyle

I hope to God that Trump hits Hillary hard on the speeches, and brings Chelsea in, too.

That's a hundred and thirty grand an hour. There is nobody on this Earth worth a hundred and thirty grand an hour to see. Not even me, you know? So what I wanna know is, what exactly is Hillary getting, when she sells her daughter for a hundred and thirty grand an hour?"

From Porchlight's 2:45

Bill Clinton and Hillary’s campaign team are concerned that her anger may surface at the wrong time. They are concerned that she could have a serious meltdown in front of TV cameras, which would make her look so out of control that voters would decide she doesn’t have the temperament to be commander in chief.

“We’re having some success in giving her some chill pills,” said a campaign adviser.

"Chill pills," you say? But check this out:

“She’s beginning to understand that she can use her righteous anger and indignation to good effect,” said the adviser. “After all, her anger is in keeping with the mood of the American electorate.”
