Free James D.

Bernie thinks the Dems are staunch supporters of Israel?

Oh, this should be amusing...

Dave (in MA)

https://pjmedia.com/instapundit/234722-2/

Post of the day.

Theo

I thought the post of the day was the send up of Rodham's bit showing some brawny tatted up dude saying that he was man enough to vote for a woman. In the retelling the hunk says that he is man enough to use the little girls' room.

A lot of people speculated that Trump was a plant by the Democrats to get Rodham elected. I am starting to suspect that Rodham's incompetent campaign has been secretly directed by Trump to get HIM elected.

Porchlight

According to what I read in the swamps, James D., the Dems are way too pro-Israel. :)

salg

well they. did boo Israel at the last convention

Porchlight

Loved this from Scott Adams' blog comments:

LatherRinseReTWEET • an hour ago

It's like in Rocky 3 when Balboa fought Thunder-Lips in a for-charity, no-holds-barred brawl. It was great entertainment. Both the champ and Thunder-Lips (Hulk Hogan) became friends and after the mayhem, the audience loved both contestants -- although Rocky came away as the hero. Bernie is no Hulk Hogan, but he IS a POLITICAL Thunder-Lips. Trump is the Republican Balboa when you think about it -- an unconventional underdog with the heart of an everyman.

Porchlight

That comment was regarding the proposed Trump-Sanders debate, in case it wasn't clear...

Theo

Now I hear that Trump won't debate Bernie, Porch. Too bad. It would have been fun.

sbw

The unedited edited re-edited Couric interview is refreshingly stale.

Porchlight

Theo, he just said in Bismarck that he'd love to debate Bernie, but he wants there to be a lot of money put up for charity first. So I guess the ball's in Bernie's court? Bernie proposed the debate, after all.

Theo

Washington Post reported that Trump aides were saying it was a joke. But maybe they now see it as an opportunity. Should be a hoot. Rodham must hate the idea.

Old Lurker

Saw this headline "Hurricane Hunters to investigate tropical low near Florida" and thought of Trey Gowdy and the DoJ...

Dave (in MA)

A guy who's running for Selectman in my town posted a Facebook link to an article about Elizabeth Warren's wigwam-flipping path to riches.

He's got my vote.

Dave (in MA)

Heh.

A commenter @ Insty had a good Warren nickname.

Dances With Tenure

Theo

Fauxchohantas is still the all time best. Trump called her Pochantas because he figured his followers -- at least some of them -- would not get the joke in Fauxchohantas.

Porchlight

Theo, Trump said just a little while ago in ND that networks were calling him and that he wanted the price tag to be $10-15 million. I have no idea if it would happen, but I think the "aides said it was a joke" story was in reference to the Kimmel appearance and was from earlier today.

Porchlight

And I do agree it would be a hoot and that Rodham will not like it at all.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I'll move my thread ending comment over here:

Call me Patterico, but I note a bit of risk for Trump in debating Bernie.
Operation Chaos at this point would seem to entail letting them claw at each other not push one over the top.

In Hillary I sense an Ozymandius event approaching as those two vast and trunkless legs of flab will be left standing in the distillery.

Janet S.

Dave's link at 1:45 is hilarious.

anonamom

WTH is going on here??? Why is TK leaving now?

I try my best to keep up, and I am clueless as to how this is all coming about.

jimmyk

I'll move my thread endingkilling comment over here:

In honor of TK, who I hope hangs around, along with Jane, DebinNC, RickB, and whoever else has pulled out to one degree or another.

Old Lurker

Just overheard Mrs. L making her annual call to WaPo to tell them we will be gone until Nov 1 and for them to please stop our paper deliveries until then. As last year, the human at the other end explained that since we can read the paper on-line, the WaPo policy is now to refuse "vacation holds" unless the subscriber agrees to continue to pay for the paper.

Wife: "Fine, I understand. Please cancel our subscription effective this Sunday."

WaPo: "Well this ONE time we will make an exception and allow you to place your subscription on hold until November for no charge. But just this ONE time."

Miss Marple 2

Mrs. OL is practicing the Art of the Deal.

"Always be ready to walk away from a bad deal."

Janet S.

Oh my gosh, OL. When I canceled my subscription years ago, I couldn't get them to STOP bringing it. They just kept on bringing the damn thing.

Marlene

Dave, Howie Carr is discussing the travesty of the hack judges in Worcester County giving the cop killer slaps on the wrist for previous arrests. One of the judges has a daughter in the probation office who is the girlfriend of the cop killer's twin brother?!
Only in Massachusetts! : )

Momto2

Oh Iggy! In Hillary I sense an Ozymandius event approaching as those two vast and trunkless legs of flab will be left standing in the distillery

You know how to make my heart go pitter-patter! (literature teacher)
A less skilled commenter might say "left standing in the desert"....
You are truly a wordsmith genius!!!

Buckeye

So OL,

Must be same damn good coupons in the WaPo???

anonamom

Marlene, that is SO Massachusetts!

Old Lurker

Buckeye, you do not want to read a transcript of Mrs. L sending me to the store with a list and telling me to use the coupons she thrust into my hand. I learned my lesson the first couple of times I forgot and they came back in the bag. Now I throw them away entering the store.

We are both happy.

WTH is going on here???

All the angst & emotion from ALL the "hurt feelings" crew is ridiculous - I'm going, I'm coming back, I'm going, they are mean, they don't like me, ...

Rich wrote awhile ago - "Dude take a chill pill it's a blog...a good one with a great comment section, but a blog."

Amen.
I do not even get half of the disagreements. I guess I don't care if everyone or anyone likes me or not. Just say what you want & post links. Ignore those you don't get on with.
JOM is an open blog, there will always be posters that don't get along with each other....so what?
I don't get all the fuss.

Marlene

When I hit preview my comments disappear.
If you haven't read Man Tran's link in the previous thread,it is a must read. Sounds like Hillary would have been comfortable living in Bernie's maple sugar shack.

Janet S.

It's so pathetic it's funny.

anonamom

Another spot-on comment from that Am Spector article's comments:

While Donald Trump may not be a real conservative, Hillary Clinton definitely is a real criminal. Enough said

http://spectator.org/electoral-hysteria-invites-defeat/

Old Lurker

Uniparty? You want a Uniparty?

"On Wednesday night, 43 Republican members of Congress joined the Democrats to vote for President Barack Obama’s transgender agenda. Whereas last week Congress voted to reject this proposal—known as the Maloney Amendment—last night they voted to ratify Obama’s 2014 executive order barring federal contractors from what it describes as “discrimination” on the basis of “sexual orientation and gender identity” in their private employment policies."

anonamom

OL--how funny! Take the coupons, toss the coupons---

Long-term marriages exist because of all kinds of unique accommodations, don't they??

Old Lurker

...and willful ignorance...

Lurker Susie

OL

Who puts the bills up for a vote? That would be Paul Ryan.

Old Lurker

Yes, that would be Paul Ryan.

My pal, and yours.

jimmyk

Yep, Paul Ryan is gettin' things done.

Not good things, mind you, but things.

Gentlejim

Tom,
Love the Dr Strangelive reference.
The Dems are obviously staunch supporters of Israel just as long as the Palis are in control.

Momto2,
A less skilled commenter might say "left standing in the desert"....
I think standing in the desert works as well. I picture two prickly cacti, which brings to mind the fat/hairy legs and ankles in an earlier thread.

jimmyk

JOM is an open blog, there will always be posters that don't get along with each other....so what?

I agree, but I think the bigger issue is people leaving out of frustration over what they consider trollish or repetitive back-and-forth jabbering. I just SOB and it doesn't bother me, so I have the same reaction--so what? But it's too bad some of those people have left.

narciso

Paul Bunyan, forgot that doc brown's committee ignored the VA whistleblowers, because he thought they were biased against the va.

As for Susan Martinez, she leaves me blanc mange, what has she done of distinction, other than winning over the state with stoner johnson and richardson,

Coming from a small family - one sister, no longer with us - JOM gives me the perspective of what its like to go to Thanksgiving dinner with 3 brothers and 3 sisters all of whom agree on most things but not at the Thanksgiving dinner. Or in this case JOM.

For that I give my thanks.

I have had my beef with TK at times vocal and non-vocal but not enough to want him to leave or be shutdown. If DoT or others left because of TK's nagging exuberance and uni-topic compulsion, so be it. That is their perogative. I left here twice all because of a preceived insult or diss that I got over with readily admit that sometimes a pause can be refreshing.

So, TK, think about a refreshing pause. It works.

anonamom

jimmyk, TK would be the last person on this planet to leave because of "repititive back and forth," amirite????

I mean, he owns the patent on that.

I was in AWE of his tenacity--though nearly driven crazy...

Theo

I agree with whoever said that Ignatz is quite the wordsmith. I don't always agree with him, but the man surely has a way with words.

Beasts of England

Glad we won the House, amirite? Who do those private employers think they are...

jimmyk

Right, anonamom, he seems to believe he is being blamed for said "repetitive back and forth," and is stepping back perhaps out of a sense that his presence is not valued.

Captain Hate

Are we sure DebinNC has left? I mean yes, she hasn't been around for a while but I missed any major dustup in which she was embroiled other than thinking the Mailman's son was the same person from the 80s, which Buckeye, Ann (also AWOL) and I did our best to provide examples to the contrary.

Although if she found out she wasn't getting as much out of the back and forths as she thought she should and just quietly left with no fanfare, that's exactly how I left Jarles Chohnson and Ewokville.

narciso

yet another example.

http://www.newsweek.com/lara-logans-mystery-man-162631

of course, they left out the morell/rhodes connection, just out of coincidence,

furthermore someone who voted for zaphod, and then follows it up with a doc brown chaser, probably isn't that concerned with security issues,

Old Lurker

"One day prior to Donald Trump formally clinching the GOP nomination, House Speaker Paul Ryan launched a new line of attack against the Party’s standard bearer selected by GOP voters. During a Wednesday meeting with reporters on Capitol Hill, the House Speaker, once again, disavowed Trump’s campaign pledge to enforce U.S. immigration law. Ryan also indicated that he would not include Trump’s signature policy platforms on trade or immigration in the House GOP 2017 policy agenda. As the Washington Post reported..."

I am so ready, as the Trump Bandwagon gathers momentum and spreads its coat tails, for Trump to rally support for R Senators and Reps, but mostly for Reps who will vote for Newt as the next Speaker.

narciso

this is why I came to agree with tk on the five, the stupid caption read's 'couric's gun film controversy, rather than 'deliberate fraud'

Captain Hate

the House Speaker, once again, disavowed Trump’s campaign pledge to enforce U.S. immigration law.

Is there anything that encapsulates the Uniparty, and the foundation of Trump's popularity better than that?

Old Lurker

Nope.

Jack is Back!

I think Ryan has crossed his Rubicon and doesn't realize how vulnerable his leadership position is now. For the most senior elected Republican in the nation to play coy on endorsing his parties nominee is beyond politics it is personal and he will not survive a personal assault on Trump.

I lost all respect and admiration for him when he let Plugs walk all over him in their debate. He really is an over-rated pol and a true lightweight.

narciso

naw, what gave you that idea:

Ryan must think he can run the country from the House... which he knows from running Obama around in circles /sarc

Old Lurker

Ditto that, Jack. But my awakening went back to his eagerly awaited budget years back that, when revealed, did not balance even within the first ten years. I have thought he was all hat, no cattle ever since.

henry

Btw, Ryan was just on, or is about to be on Belling's radio show. I'm sure he GOPesplain whatever he is up to. (No, I pass on listening today).

Old Lurker

Ryan seems unable to run the House from the House, Henry...

Captain Hate

OL, I'm glad you've confirmed the budget didn't balance because when I first heard it on Rove News Sunday I figured Wallace was just being his father's son.

Momto2

He really is an over-rated pol and a true lightweight.

Agreed - he also seems to have very poor political instincts. He has to be living in an opaque bubble to think his latest words and actions are appealing to the average voter.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Ignatz,

Part of the debate fun will be the ritual after voting in the "non scientific" polls, to establish who won. :-)

The Conservative Treehouse always listed umpteen polls to vote in on debate night, the top poll always being Drudge, and Mr. Trump won every debate, of course. The numbers said so. ;-)
