I am not looking for quite this level of energy and commitment from my family, but I admire this wife's spirit:
Colorado mother saves son from mountain lion attack
PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a mother fought off a mountain lion that attacked her 5-year-old son in Colorado on Friday night.
The Pitkin County Sheriff's Office told ABC-7 that the 5-year-old boy had been playing outside around 8 p.m. when the mountain lion attacked.
The sheriff's office says the boy's mother ran outside when she heard screaming and removed her son from the animal. The boy's face, head and neck had been injured.
Authorities told the TV station the boy was being transported to a Denver hospital in fair condition.
The mother hurt her hand and legs but has been released from the hospital.
The cat was then sent to its final resting place by LEOs.
For myself, a nice omelette and a stroll in the park will be fine. No mountain lions.
Don't take a stroll in Los Angeles Griffith Park. It has a resident mountain lion. But the omelette for lunch sounds good.

Well I just caught the last few minutes of FNS.
In time to be lectured about "inclusiveness" by an Aussie gal running the Nat'l Portrait Gallery. Seems she is troubled by so many portraits of dead white guys.
This was right after showing the room with portraits of past Presidents.
I'm troubled that black america will be represented by such a lightweight who squandered a golden opportunity to help heal the divides.

Seems that President nitwit could not care less about the newly found treasure trove of his father's writings. Maybe Bill Ayers is interested. Carlos Slim's dancing chimps' version at the LUN. One "fact" recited is that Barack Obama Sr. and Stanley Dunham were married. Where is the evidence for that?

That was an interesting article. Both see the Muslim world through the eyes of childhood. Jarrett is seeing Iran through the template of the Shah, who was in charge when she was there.
It's a different country, now.
An interesting thing about the black experience I had never thought about: as much as white working class are being robbed of jobs, the black industrial workers were the first to lose out. The loss of manufacturing has harmed the entire working class, both black and white.

Gentlejim,
After that last interview of Ryan on O'Reilly, I am done with him. If I had spare money, I would donate to his opponent.
First of all, he lied to O'Reilly about the particulars of a bill.
Second, his answer for not declaring war on ISIS is that Obama wouldn't accept it!
I watched it again last night and I was even madder than the first time I watched it.
That smug, sanctimonious jerk is uninterested in doing anything to help the American people. He just shuffles papers around and issues platitudes like they are some sort of deep thinking.
Forget him. I hope he is defeated in his primary.

From Miss Marple's 1:26
It’s not that Obama does not care about murderers of gay people. It is that Obama himself, as the liberal that he is, he doesn’t understand that homophobia is a part of Islam. Just like Islam hates women, it vomits on women, it vomits on gays, on anything that is different. And this is something that Obama either does not understand or does not want to understand.
There's a third option which everybody seems to want to avoid.

It is the job of the party's leadership to get the party to fall in line whether you are talking about an election or legislation. Trump, like him or not, is the nominee. The party should be all out for him. Like someone posted earlier. The only thing I admire about the Dems is that they are in lockstep support of their nominee. The time for pissing matches is over.

There have been dozens and dozens of total articles linked about Ryan and his dangerous agenda. Such articles are linked on a daily basis.
Here are, one more time, just two items that they covered: a) Ryan stated that Obama's agenda would not be 'impeded' during the remainder of his term. That's dangerous. b) Ryan continues to fund - and may provide tens of millions extra - Countering Violent Extremism (CVE). They've published documents claiming that right wing whites are just as dangerous and violent as Islamic terrorists. Except they don't use the terms 'jihad' 'Islam' or other such terms - as they're forbidden. That's dangerous as heck - and Paul Ryan lets them be funded. Dozens more examples abound.
Paul Ryan is dangerous. QED

I would have more respect for Ryan or McConnell were they to simply say they oppose Trump, period.
Instead they play the sly game of "I don't want to look too disloyal cuz it might my hurt my poll numbers, but hey who expects the Speaker or the Majority Leader to actually try and get the troops in line? The rest of you guys can do whatever you want because we only whip members when it's to pass some bill Barry and the Dems agree to not to get a Republican elected President. It is Trump,s job to rally the Republican Party and whip up the masses to vote against Hillary.
Until I see actual problems the funding is what it is.
Nothing gets done while on August break so what 5 weeks of Congress left?
They are a representative and a Senator respectively not weasels.
If they are not so over the moon that is the fault of Trump.
The very first thing a CIC has to know how to do is communicate with everybody. Trump defeated a lot oft heir friends in a nasty campaign and many just don't like him.
The fact that have endorsed him is enough.
Let us focus on the task at hand.
Trump needs to go into that convention in a month ahead of Hillary in the polls.
Whatever has to be done to make that happen is the first priority.
Where has Manafort been the last couple of weeks.
Everytime Hillary gets slammed her attack dogs are out there immediately spinning.
Bring on the attack dogs.
All I see is the beginnings of a blame game to excuse Trump for not winning this election.

This is the same problem every GOP candidate has. The Dems are trying to define him so that he gets no convention bounce.
Trump is still campaigning because it bypasses the media, sends out signals of popularity with the crowd, and masters the news cycle.
I don't know if it will work. It's a different strategy, though.

Maryrose,
She can't refuse to debate the Donald.RNC and GOP have agreed to a series of Presidential debates and a VP debate.
It is not Trump's sole job to rally the GOP. They have a responsibility per their by-laws to support vigorously their presumptive nominee. Ryan the lightweight, needs to get over his miserable record of appeasement and debating and recognize he is not the leader of the Republican party any longer.
I am amazed that Trump has shown such patience in re Congress and especially their leader, Ryan. What would Reagan do?
Ryan is more dangerous to Republicans in tight election fights than Trump is and he needs to buck up or resign.

It's not possible to be honest about current problems without making statements the MFM and GOPe will call "inflammatory".

IMO "we can survive 8 years of Hillary" is more "inflammatory" than anything Trump has said.

I agree but remember to always include a positive comment about Trump
You get less flak if you go that route.
We agree to disagree.
Trump needs to win new voters every single day until the November election Getting the nomination is just the first step. He can't expect the Party to do the heavy lifting for him.
Ryan is not going to resign and he is not standing in Trump's way. If Trump doesn't like his support he can replace him for the convention.
Trump needs to bring his honed negotiating skills to the table(see cheerleader, another positive comment) to the table with party leaders and his advocates to craft a master plan to take out Hillary.
