"So I will defend him because he is the only one defending us."

That's precisely why I'm supporting him too, MM....GOPe has no idea who "we" are and they don't give damn, either.

I'd rather be a fangirl than hypocrite.

Maybe I can be a fangirl instead! Yes!

Cheerleader, you misunderstand.
I am sincere in working to elect Trump.

Well, I hate to abandon Thomas Collins, who shares my avatar, but maybe a change would spruce up the place a little.

Miss Marple

Cheerleader,

I am McLain of Lochbuie. My Highland ancestors fought for The Bonnie Prince.

They lost all, and came to America so their heads wouldn't be on pikes on Tower Bridge.

I am loyal to a fault. Trump has stepped out to defend my people, and I will defend him as best I can.

Don't care if I am mocked as a fan girl. It is how I am. It is how my family is and has been as long as I remember.

New Gravis poll has Clinton 51 - Trump 49
D40 - R27 - I27
Respondents were women 53% - men 47%

Not to play "unscrew the polls," but they're apparently going with the 2012 male/female turnout ratio. I don't think 2016 is going to look like that.

Either way, though, I'll take it.

Captain Hate

Love to hear CH's commentary on how the game is going tonight.

I was watching the game at a friend's place where we're three for three on championship games. As JR Smith said it felt like the score was tied at 89 for three days. If Kyrie hadn't nailed that last three they might still be playing. Kudos to the Cavs from Dan Gilbert on down but particularly all the players who put in the effort to get this done. And much respect for the Warriors who are well set to compete for the championship in the foreseeable future. But for now, we are the champions. LOL, Kevin Love has an Austin 3:16 tee shirt on.

Kudos to DJ for finally putting it together in a major.

JM Hanes

maryrose:

"Most of you like Trump some of you love Trump."

Actually I think it would be more accurate to say that a few of us really like or love Trump, but most of us will vote for him, and most of us think the Republicans in leadership should be trying just as hard to defeat Clinton as the rest of us, including you, are. A lot of us don't like Trump at all.

JOM Facebook?

BeenThereDoneThat

I support him because he puts America and the American people first; not the party. He pledges to support and protect Israel, and provided a list of top tier candidates for the Supreme Court. He belittles the left and their insufferable PC and reveres and respects the military, and will use his business expertise to begin reversing Obama's regulatory stranglehold on the economy. Good start...

I don't do Facebook.
No comments here are stupid.
Some are misguided and some are meant to pontificate on high.
Our goal is the same.
Get Trump elected. So let's go do that.

Captain Hate

I'm someone who left for a couple of years, myself, and finally decided to come back, and I have to say, I'm sick of hearing how great JOM used to be.

Oh c'mon, JMH, Cheers reruns are the schizznit.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Just a small question;
Isn't it kinda ironic for Ryan and other Rep congresscritters to be acting like Trump is some caterpillar they discovered in their salad who they are too cool to be seen with, when Ryan etal are pretty much the only group with a worse approval rating than Trump?

I mean it's not like the captain of the football team is telling some geek to take a walk til his hat floats.
It's like the booger eatin' weirdo is acting like some geek is lower on the totem pole than he is, when he's the guy who's planted in the ground.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I had a bad feeling about the series when Green was suspended.
They seemed to lose heart and never got it back.

Captain Hate

The Warriors played like a tired team; I think setting the regular season record took a toll. Green was a beast tonight and very classy in defeat.

Does the Gateway Pundit cause anybody else problems loading on an iPad's browser?

Miss Marple 2

I am glad to see Cleveland won. It's nice to see a smaller TV market grab the title.

Let the dogs out at 6:00 and it's already unbearable humid. Looks like indoors work today.

Captain Hate

Actually, on the 12oth hole - 6 to play - then they went and told everyone in the field that he may have a potential penalty to be decided later. They are truly anal and just like the GOPe. There is no member of the USGA board from a Muni or daily fee course. Never has been, never will be. And most of them are lawyers with litigation practices. What's that tell you?

The finish of the Open combined with the start of the NBA kept me from commenting on this at the time but these idiots all need to die in a fire, starting with that idiot bint president who was mispronouncing everybody's name and either has a horrible speech impediment or a blood alcohol level of nearly infinity. DJ might be a meathead but there was NFW he deserved a penalty stroke and they're all horrible people for sticking him with one.

Momto2, the President also said that these attacks and the dead Amerixan citizens are just "collateral damage" of someone else's war, and we can absorb such attacks anyway. So really, what difference does it make at this point whether it was a lone wolf or not?

Detailed statistical analysis of Trump voters. Pretty interesting.

Some bias in the article as it casts a disapproving eye on those who support illegals, and once again we are told that the elderly are the biggest recipients of entitlements, but this does show how out of touch the GOP was going into the primaries.

henry

Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics to start Monday morning. Need more coffee.

Looks like Chuck Todd's trying to get Ryan sympathy, hopefully because his approval ratings are plummeting with R voters and House peeps are getting angry calls/emails from their constituents. Mine got one from me re Ryan's self-righteous pontificating.

Both Roberts and Douglas said they had registered to vote for the first time in order to support Trump in their state’s primary.

Money line in the NBC article MM linked.

I think most of the press has willfully ignored the magnitude of this phenomenon.

Beasts of England

The USGA treated Johnson the same way the GOPe treats Trump. Same with respect to the fans / voters. It's a perfect analog, JiB. Everything concerning that penalty stroke was an outrage and they've been completely slattered around the Internet for their behavior.

Congrats again to DJ and also to all of our Cavs fans at JOM. Lebron seems like a very decent guy, and seeing the photos of him crying are more than a little touching. Good stuff.

James D

It IS intentional, Momto2.

Why won't the GOP leadership talk about it?

Why didn't they have someone on every one of the Sunday news shows hammering Obama about his "collateral damage" comment?

Or ads replaying his "American can absorb terror attacks" quote?

Or tearing both Obama and the press a new orifice or three for the Ben Rhodes interview and admission that the administration lied about every aspect of the Iran deal, and the press willingly helped them push every single lie?

WHY do they refuse to do this? Obama says and does things that are indefensible and unconscionable, and somehow Ryan and McConnell and nearly everyone else in the GOP can't find their voices to condemn any of it.

Pagar @ 8:40 AM

apparently not if you're a Democrat.

See, this is where, if the parties were reversed, every single Democrat - and every member of the press - would be attacking the Attorney General mercilessly at every opportunity. Words like "betrayal" and "cowardice" and "treason" and "impeachment" would be in all the headlines.

But the Republicans don't play that way. They will be polite, and reasonable and calm, and they will let this unqualified racist criminal vermin who should never in a million years have been confirmed in the first place, get away with whitewashing an Islamic terror attack in order to cover Obama's ass.

Isn't that wonderful?

Beasts of England

Beasts of England

That's was in re: your 8:47, James D.

The first black woman to hold state-wide office in Kentucky and I have never heard of her, and I live in Indiana!

Same reason there's never any mention that "Fergusons" don't happen in the South, but in blue hells like St. Louis, Chicago, and NYC. The Charleston church massacre aftermath wasn't BLM riots, but blacks and whites holding hands, singing "We Shall Overcome", and walking across a bridge together. IOW, racial harmony isn't news.

RattlerGator

Agreed; JiB's analogy is right on the money. It's also another reason to ignore this desperate push to panic folks about Trump, boost Ryan, etc. That shiznit is not going to work this time around. Not at all.

This has been a quite interesting back and forth in the comments. I enjoy the contributions of Theo, Maryrose and Jane in a "political science" kind of way. Theo is a stand-alone category, clearly, but Jane and Maryrose are fascinating and help to explain what *appears* to be the intransigence of Speaker Ryan.

If we can just ignore the manufactured dismissive attacks on Trump, and keep building this Big Tent (and make no mistake, Trump is definitely building a Big Tent), victory is assured.

I suspect the Republican National Convention, as a television spectacle, is going to be a gamechanger that the Democrats can't even hope to match.

Free James D

DebinNC, I think there might be another reason we haven't heard of her in the national news.

Might be which letter goes after her name...

Miss Marple 2

Baltimore Judge to issue verdict today in Freddie Gray van driver case. What's scary is even the chance that, proven facts be damned, he very well might convict him of something just to save face for the incompetent AD Marilyn Mosby and placate the black community she played to to help her husband's failed mayoral bid.

clarice

I'm with you again, Rattler.

DebinNC

Oops... closing arguments in FG case today, not necessarily a verdict. It will be fascinating, at least to me, to see the venal prosecutors' finale of what is already a law school "What not to do" tutorial.

Momto2

JamesD - I share your outrage~ These topics are served up almost daily on a *silver platter* and yet there doesn't seem to be any GOP leader who wants to mount a challenge.

I'm constantly asking myself, "What is it going to take for the R's to get a spine and stand up and express outrage and mirror even a small % of the anger I feel about these issues?"

I have finally concluded that there is NOTHING that will move them to stand before the cameras and challenge the D's.

They don't have any problems with grabbing a microphone when the topic is Trump though - funny how that works!

derwill

This email got forwarded to me today from a fellow American Legion member:

In 1991, at the end of Desert Storm, a 19 yr. old US Army Cavalry Scout Private who had just spent 8 months at war sat out on a street at Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia. He sat there on his duffle bag with his Battalion around him for 4 days waiting for the buses to come and take him to the King Fahad Airport so he could go home.

Unfortunately, the politicians of the day never planned for how to bring so many soldiers home after the war ended so there was a shortage of planes. Politicians are great at talking, but terrible at doing.

Finally, the buses came, and took the young man to the airport. The planes waiting were from Tower Air. The owner of Tower Air had volunteered his planes and staff to bring soldiers home for the cost of fuel only.
Happily, the young veteran got home just in time for Easter weekend in 1991, and spent that time emotionally healing with friends and family surrounding him.

That Private was me.

The Airline owner - Donald J Trump.

That is why I will vote Trump. Loyalty for loyalty, respect for respect. Any questions?

Is this breaking news? Trump fired Corey Lewandowski.

Centralcal on iPad

Buhbye, Corey Lewandowski!!

cheerleader

derwill,

Now that I think about it, I think it was another vet in a different situation that spoke at the Trump rally.

The situation was that a large number of troops were back in the U.S.A. for R&R, but they got stuck an airport and for some reason couldn't get to where they needed to be to make their connections to get home. Mr. Trump ferried all of them, in two full flights to where they needed to be.

Beasts of England

Fantastic comment, per usual, RattlerGator!! You really touch on some key points, especially the big tent that Trump has constructed that crosses all lines of traditional identity politics.

We've witnessed Trump pull back the curtain, smash Overton windows and shift paradigms in such a definite manner that those who remain beholden to the GOPe and its surrogates, e.g., Ryan, National Review, can't find the mental alacrity to respond in a decent manner.

Their persona is so intertwined by political transference that watching their sacred cows being spit-roasted has overwhelmed their delicate circuitry. And it's only going to get worse.

I'd love to give them the continued benefit of the doubt, but that train left the station weeks ago. Tripling down on stupid is something that I can't ignore - as I didn't claw my way to the top of the food pyramid to suffer fools. Exactly, they were put in power to push back against Zippy and when they show no appetite for doing so they've got to go. This cult of personality where they're allowed to be good buddies with the enemy is like keeping a servant who steals from you.
