Microsoft has done nothing in every other consumer market it has gone after, so drug warriors should be heartened by this:
As state after state has legalized marijuana in one way or another, big names in corporate America have stayed away entirely. Marijuana, after all, is still illegal, according to the federal government.
But Microsoft is breaking the corporate taboo on pot this week by announcing a partnership to begin offering software that tracks marijuana plants from “seed to sale,” as the pot industry puts it.
The software — a new product in Microsoft’s cloud computing business — is meant to help states that have legalized the medical or recreational use of marijuana keep tabs on sales and commerce, ensuring that they remain in the daylight of legality.
...
Microsoft’s baby step into the business came through an announcement on Thursday that it was teaming up with a Los Angeles start-up, Kind, that built the software the tech giant will begin marketing. Kind — one of many small companies trying to take the marijuana business mainstream — offers a range of products, including A.T.M.-style kiosks that facilitate marijuana sales, working through some of the state-chartered banks that are comfortable with such customers.
Microsoft will not be getting anywhere near these kiosks or the actual plants. Rather, it will be working with Kind’s “government solutions” division, offering software only to state and local governments that are trying to build compliance systems.
Oh, just inventory / excise tax stamp tracking? Boring stuff any convenience store / liquor store / grocery store already has. The states all have the flip side (although govt software is less flexible than commercial stuff). Some guy in CA put a leaf design as the logo on it? One way to be a unicorn these days -- contact high the VCs.

Feeling Kind-a groovy!....
Why is tobacco evil and weed good? Smoke is smoke, right? Tobacco is said to make you thin and marijuana can make you not worry about your weight while you reach for the junk food. What am I missing? Have we heard from the lung advocates?

in the top floor lounge in the Guangzhou Hotel eating breakfast (it's 08:30 AM), and watching Capt Hate's Cav's spanking the Warriors hard in the 1st. Big fun, as a family from Wisconsin is next to us with a brand new Chinese girl, a tiny bit older than normal, maybe 2, who is trying out the names of her 2 new old brothers at a mile a minute, and laughing and smiling to beat the band. Wonderful to see. Wish you were here---you guys would love it.

Just read the Wretched article linked 2 posts back by Miss M.
Strikes me that in the olden days the Left accomplished what they wanted by saying "If we can only save one Life then we must do..."
That justified anything, no matter how nutty.
Now when we know allowing in thousands of unknown, unvetted, un-asimilatable Islamists, who we know with complete certainty will destroy way, way more than 1 life and will put tens of thousands at risk, that old slogan and philosophy has outlived its usefulness and is tossed overboard for a new rationalizer of insanity---"That's not who we are."
I think the history of the last 20 years can be broken down into those 2 statements.

It's Armitage. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the Clinton campaign team.

daddy,
Absolutely agree. "That's not who we are" is an all-purpose statement, meant to shame anyone disagreeing with the approved narrative.
Boy, do I despise these people!

Iggy--Yes. For the immediate pain I had a corticosteroid shot and a spine stretcher from Amazon.https://www.amazon.com/Teeter-Hang-Ups-Back-Stretcher/dp/B000PX1YDY/ref=sr_1_45?ie=UTF8&qid=1466131760&sr=8-45&keywords=spine+stretch Once that was under control somewhat, I started taking wobenzym (a German product) available at whole Food and Amazon which I highly recommend for joint and muscle pain. I work out 3 times a week--on pilates and gyrotonics and I am free of pain and quite mobile.

Very interesting, Narciso. (you're 10:21)
What a convenient bogus meme. By coincidence reading a really excellent new book by Brian Cathcart, “The News from Waterloo: the Race to Tell Britain of Wellington’s Victory".
Full of the same rumor mongering with slim to zero facts, pushed by the Govt and the competing papers and political factions in order to clean up at the Stock Market and ensure re-elections and all the rest. Fascinating. Took 5 days for Wellington’s Victory Dispatch to arrive at London with the facts. A good read. Invention from whole cloth sure ain't nothing new.

IOW; Trump doesn't appear to be a Republican so I'm going to vote for a definite Democrat marxist who not only doesn't know jack about any issue and screwed up everything she touches but she sends our secrets into the ether for our enemies to find and accepts massive graft from hostile and corrupt powers in exchange for favors.

armitage is an odd duck, he was libeled by the christics, and perot, back in the early 90s. guess who came to his aid, none other than scooter libby,
he was a pnac signator, he was on the board of caci one of the outfits that provided interrogators to abu ghraib, he was opposed to iraq, which is why he spoke to novak, who concurred in the judgment, but apparently, val's intervening into what he deemed his bailiwick was led to that memo.
