henry

Who is responsible for putting people on the no-fly list that they want to use as a gun-ban list?

Friends of Lois Lerner.

Yes, the Dems on the floor know this.

To whom does a citizen make that appeal?

I would bet cash money to an appropriate foundation.

Answered your own question. ;)

henry

Pretty much true:

comment on sit in.

Buckeye

I would bet cash money that none of the clowns having their temper tantrum on the House floor can answer any of those questions.

And we already know that none of the corrupt leftist stooges at the NYT, WaPo or any of the TV news networks would even think of asking said clowns any of those questions.

I bet GUS would ask those questions, and a whole lot more:)

Marlene

MM, thanks for the NYT article re: Fallujah. My now retired Navy Seabee brother-in-law served two tours, both in Fallujah. The Seabees rebuilt the city and it is maddening and heartbreaking to know it was all for naught.

Marlene

I didn't see any TV news until later in the day yesterday and when I saw what happened on the House floor,I thought, what are those idiots doing?!
I guess the "sit-in" continues.

It WAS all true, MM.

I was looking over at National Review, and I notice basically crickets about the speech yesterday...but two more articles on their homepage trashing Trump and his supporters. They really have completely lost their minds over there.

Gus-take your kids down to the bottom of Yellowstone Canyon. There are few scenic canyons more accessible and my parents who have been to Yellowstone numerous times never knew it was there.

Get the times for the significant geysers so you do not miss something you would like to see. Even if you are not staying in the park call now and see if you can get a reservation for lunch or dinner at the Old Faithful Inn.

Lake Yellowstone is also very nice for a boat ride. My favorite way to enter Yellowstone is to come up through Idaho and enter through West Yellowstone. Later exit south towards Jackson Hole and Grand tetons.

rse

I first went to yellowstone when I was five and we were on our way to disneyland ultimately. It was back when the bears still came up to the cars and my parents were very worried I was going to roll down the windows for a better look.

Old Lurker

James, I broke my vow and turned on Bret Baier last night. The first four minutes were about the speech, sorta, then they went into #nevertrump mode just as if the speech had not been given.

I really am surprised hard hard they have come out in support of GOPe and why they are throwing away so many loyal viewers like me.

Here is a good comment & link from a friend on FB.

"My friend Dave said the following (which I totally agree with), "I'll enter the gun control debate with this. We saw the grandstanding between the Democrats and Republicans. Four different gun control measures taken up for vote, the two Republican measures defeated by filibuster (the Democrats own that one), two Democrat measures defeated by majority (Republican) vote. On the surface, why not have everyone on the "terrorist watch list" or other lists of "dangerous people" be denied the opportunity to legally purchase a gun? Well, as the Republican proposals wanted... there needs to be some form of "due process" that allows someone, wrongfully placed on these lists, to have their name removed. Currently these lists are arbitrary and an Attorney General, protecting their party's interests can sway the list to the right or to the left. In the case of this article... the Attorney General took the VA's list, with no vetting, no scrutiny, and called 100% of these folks "mentally defective" and therefore not capable of owning guns (when some folks just needed financial assistance to pay off their VA loans). I'm not against using these lists, but when one party sees Conservative Christians and Veterans as a threat to national security and there is no known method of due process available to those wrongfully placed on these lists... I think the Republicans made the right call. Oh, by the way, the New Jersey Democrats are having a sit in to see these lists with no due process enforced..."

Notice how if you are a Dem, you can say anything in a campaign. If you are on the other side, then they demand Rules of Evidence level proof.

EVERYBODY knows all those claims about Hilary are true but yes, it is true, that some of the claims have yet to be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt in a court of law and been upheld by all levels of appeal up to SCOTUS.

henry

From our Chitown Lurker: a review of Hillary's speech. This has all those "specifics" that the MSM is comparing to Trump's "generalities" on the economy.

Janet

Dems just want the authority to screw Americans with JUST accusations.

Like their lawless panels on University campuses. The accused gets no due process.

Not surprised

In a new book, a former Secret Service uniformed officer accuses Bill and Hillary Clinton of acting as if they had a "magic royal pot" of taxpayer money at their disposal while living in the White House.

That's according to an excerpt obtained by The Daily Caller of Gary Byrne's soon-to-be released "Crisis of Character: A White House Secret Service Officer Discloses His Firsthand Experience with Hillary, Bill, and How They Operate."

Beasts of England

I spent an hour or so digging through the JOM archives trying to assess the claimed difference in commenting tone between this election and the last. There was some solid debate during the primaries, but then a funny thing happened: by this time four years ago there was not a peep of negativity about the presumptive nominee. There was, however, fabulous support of Mitt.

So, yes, the tone is significantly different this time around, but it's being driven purely by the Trump dissenters. And the repeated suggestion that the acrimony is being driven by Trump's supporters is unfounded.

That's as nicely as I can make that point, but I'm sick and tired of the presumptive nominee and his supporters being called out for the ruination of JOM. That's a lie.

I ran out to the store andLaura Ingraham said that withholding cash from Trump so that he loses is the only way to save the Republican Party.

Laura Ingraham said she thought this was about saving the country.

This is how insulated those entrenched "conservative" columnists are. They seem to think that 4 years of Hillary will be survivable. Well, maybe for them. They will get their nice paychecks from cable news and newspapers or think tanks, and will get to chat with their liberal friends over cocktails at fancy DC or New York restaurants.

But for us, out here in the real world, we can't survive. My eBay sales have dropped considerably over the last 2 months, and I am assuming this is due to less disposable income from the younger buyers and fears about retirement income from my older buyers.

Since I sell world-wide, I am not getting any sales from usually reliable buyers (Australians and Russians).

I assume I am the canary in the coal mine.

On a lighter note, a little long, so if you're not in the mood to chuckle, SOB:

If you're not familiar the work of Steven Wright, he's the famous Erudite (comic) scientist who once said: "I woke up one morning, and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates." His mind sees things differently than most of us do.

Here are some of his gems.

1 - I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

2 - Borrow money from pessimists – they don't expect it back.
3 - Half the people you know are below average.

4 - 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.

5 - 82.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

6 - A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.

7 - A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.

8 - If you want the rainbow, you have got to put up with the rain.

9 - All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand.

10 - The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

11 - I almost had a psychic girlfriend ... but she left me before we met.

12 - OK, so what's the speed of dark?

13 - How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink?

14 - If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

15 - Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.

16 - When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

17 - Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.

18 - Hard work pays off in the future; laziness pays off now.

19 - I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

20 - If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

21 - Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

22 - What happens if you get scared half to death twice?

24 - Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?

25 - If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

26 - A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.

27 - Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

28 - The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread.

29 - To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research.

30 - The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.
