Agreed, derwill@03:54.

Jack is Back!

Today, on Rush, some guy had emailed him in re: Millenials and how they think from their indoctrination. They are 1) greenies, and 2) food, poverty mavens. The secret word as Groucho would say is "sustainability". Use that and you get their attention.

He suggested Trump start using it, like in, "A weak military is not sustainable for protecting Ameria" or "Continued illegal immigration is not sustainable if we want a rising tide of jobs and higher wages" or "Continue to deny we have a problem with radical Islam terrorism is not sustainable if we want to put a stop to terror on the homeland". etc. etc.

This is all based on his interaction with his kids who are millenials and their friends. Knowing Rush and Donald's relationship, expect to see this new semantic twist in his upcoming speeches.

I called Theo a troll a few days ago and that was stupid and I apologize for it.
He was not exactly representing my arguments accurately but that could just as easily have been poor wording on my part. And he has a tendency to beat the dead horse he rode in on, but neither behavior necessarily indicates bad faith, which is what I use to define a troll.
Someone can be irritating without being a troll and, when it could go either way, it aint my job decide which one is which.
SOB should always be the free society's option instead of "shut up".

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--17-years-after-gun-bans-in-australia-police-say-gun-crime-is-out-of-control--

There is absolutely no reason to think banning a class of items could ever possibly lead to a black market in those items and the formation of things like a series of cartels in neighboring countries to illegally smuggle said items into the country sporting the ban, is there?

Racking my brain trying to think of any examples. Coming up empty. A little help?

jimmyk

SOB should always be the free society's option instead of "shut up".

Agreed--also instead of "f*** off" and the like.

And speaking of beating dead horses, I've been catching up and wanted to respond to Appalled from the last thread:

I am appalled...and amused by the number of very loyal and emphatic conservative Republicans being labelled a troll, a concern troll, etc etc

The point is that all the anti-Trump stuff was fine when his opponents were Cruz, Rubio, Jeb!, et al. Now that his opponent is Hillary, continuing to rant about Trump's imperfections seems pointless unless you actually prefer Hillary to Trump. Maybe I'm misremembering, but it seems to me that in 2012 those of us who weren't big Romney fans stopped griping about him as soon as he was the presumptive nominee, because we knew Obama was the real enemy.

Unfortunately, the Washington Post's "brutal numbers" may well explain why Donald Trump’s campaign manager is out. I think campaign advertising is less worrisome than the absence of feet on the ground. I also think it takes more than minimalist staffing to pick up and capitalize on possibilities like the one JiB pointed to. It takes a lot of ears to the ground. Hopefully, the RNC will pick up a lot of slack on the GOTV front. Most of all, I think we need to get through the Convention whole, and give Trump the platform he needs to launch a credible general campaign. I'm hoping that Monafort is focusing like a laser on accomplishing that.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

The parenting happiness gap [those raising kids are less happy than those not] is real, researchers find.

Fortunately they also found the cure; just force your neighbor at the point of a government gun to pay for raising your child.

No data yet available on the happiness gap of the coerced neighbors.

Those maps at glasater's 4:39 look pretty damn good to me, which is maybe a way of admitting that I couldn't do any better. I like the one who just labeled the territory east of Ukraine as "Commies."

Iggy,

I have never been so happy raising Frederick with Mrs. JiB. Today, he got his goldfish from his science teacher for getting an A in his Science final. One of only 5 out of a class of 34. Yesterday for Father's Day dinner he dressed himself and surprised me by ending up wearing my American Patriot tie of red, white and blues.

So, it's prog BS. They are probably not happy because their kids want to use their own gender bathrooms, have patriotic feelings and think Trump is cool.

Janet

I just got back from a long weekend in Baton Rouge...a really nice city.
My son is working there now. We got to do some trap shooting...VERY fun. I was terrible, but it was fun.
A very enjoyable weekend trip. Nice people, good food,...

The MFM look to have gone completely insane over the last 4 days. Advocates for the Obama administration & foreigners.
Why do they hate America & Americans so much?

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Yes JiB,
They're not really measuring the happiness of having kids. They're measuring the stress of paying for kids.
If you consider the successful pursuit of happiness to be soaking your neighbor then they've found the holy grail.

"it seems to me that in 2012 those of us who weren't big Romney fans stopped griping about him as soon as he was the presumptive nominee, because we knew Obama was the real enemy."

I think you have a point -- up to a point.

In the normal nominating contest the voters choose among a number of acceptable alternatives. For the most part, in 2012 those who favored Santorum or Newt or Ron Paul or whoever were not dead set against Romney, they just preferred someone else. Once the nominee is selected, pretty much everyone rallies around that nominee.

I do not think that 2016 is like that. For many people, Trump was not one of many acceptable candidates but not the first, second or fifth choice. For these people he was not a conservative or a Republican at all and simply not an acceptable alternative. I think that is different than year's past, where pretty much everyone got behind the nominee if it not one's first choice.

You are of course right that the choice is now, like it or not, between Trump and Rodham.

I think my reaction to that choice is like the old Jack Benny line when the man with the gun told him "your money or your life." After a short pause, Benny responded "I'm thinking, I'm thinking."

I despise Rodham and disagree with her on virtually every political issue. I do not believe that Trump is fit to be president by experience or temperament and I disagree with him on several issues such as trade.

I'm thinking. I'm thinking.

Good Morning.

For anyone interested in my "Joely Bug" buddies doing the Bicycle Race Across America, they are about 950 miles in with 2,100 miles yet to go. Their website reports that when they passed just north of Camp Verde which I think is in Southern Utah the radio station was reporting a temperature of 138F. Yow!

Currently they are just a bit past Durango, Colorado, and in 100 miles or so will be exiting the Rockies just south of Pueblo, Colorado.

The four boys are obviously in great shape for 50-59 year olds. It appears that in the mountains they switch riders every 20 minutes, so one biker will zip ahead by car and be waiting on his bike at a changing point. He waits until the guy finishing his 20 minute leg has his wheels go past the new guy's wheels ready to go. That is considered a legal "Handoff", at which point the new guy starts his 20 minute leg. The web-link has some pics of tough mountain territory, and you can tell they are eager for the Kansas flatlands. On the Google Live Tracking map they are the small green box with the letters T411.

FYI: Most LEOs have special holsters that are design to prevent this sort of thing (some military have them too). There are actually (informal) levels of rating on the holsters as to how secure they (I think there are like 4 levels). Civilians can purchaser these kinds of holsters too, BTW. Some models looks just like any other holster. They generally operate with a series of pressure points on the holster to release it. If you know the points you release the gun rapidly. It is difficult to reach those points if you are not wearing the holster.

On top of that, as someone said above, they are trained with moves to use with those holsters. Say someone tried to grab from the side; they can literally twist the holster to confine the hand of the perp much like a handcuff. The training and the tools are fairly sophisticated and any LEO in a large crowd in a city like this would be properly trained and equipped.

No doubt there is some pro somewhere (or team of pros) that might be able to get a gun from such LEO, probably using some sort of violence, but i would think they are exceedingly rare. For the regular person, or even the hardened criminal, it is almost impossible to get a LEO's gun short of holding a gun to his head. It is a safe bet this kid had absolutely no idea of how foolish a plan this was.

It is not as though thy have not encountered this source of thing before.

That said it is really stupid. It is a transcript and not a translation. This means that they publish exactly what was said. If the then must parenthetically translate, then they should then do so.

Even when they try to, they cannot tell the truth. The enemy are normal, regular, middle class (and mostly white) Christians.

They have put infinitely more energy into harassing white middle class Christians into baking wedding cakes for gays, then they have at protecting Americans from the ISIS, even if the victims are gay.

The origin of Allah Akbar, which does not appear in the Koran, comes from the Hadith, during Mohammed's genocide of the Jews.

"So, when the day dawned, the Jews came out with their bags and spades. When they saw the Prophet; they said, "Muhammad and his army!" The Prophet said, Allahu--Akbar!
