I so appreciate everyone who posts on here. The news is so sickening, the media so repulsive, the BLM movement so infuriating, and our politicians, mostly, so corrupt, I don't think I can watch television, read the newspaper (especially our liberal Tulsa World editorial page), or hear about the influx of TB-ridden illegals, etc., without jom's filters and humor.
Thank you for your intelligence and especially your wit, common sense, and delightful sarcasm.

NYT is upset because Ginsberg comments help to support Trump's claim that some judges dislike him and can not be impartial (i.e. Trump U judge). Some judges just hide their true feelings a little better than others, using actions instead of words.

Gingrich has been 100% disqualified from the executive ever since he sat on the DC climate couch with Pelosi for a commercial that validated the BS by suggesting that honest debate was possible.
But I'm still an IVR stooge. Trump, the birther, will get my vote no matter who he picks.
Way back when, I promised to vote for the lying, cheating Canadian over any Liberal. I think I have it in me to vote for Trump no matter who he picks.
We are in trap deciding which appendage gets chewed off so we can make it to the next trap. I've decided to leave my pecker and my trigger finger for last, everything else I will let go of if I think there is a chance my kids will have it better.

I think I would most prefer Flynn, of all the names that have been floated. Gingrich has negatives that don't help and he can always sherpa/surrogate without being VP. Pence, despite my personal support for religious liberty initiatives, is probably going to distract and disrupt some of Trump's independent support and may do more harm than good. The rest, eh.

Blue Porchlight,
Those are my feelings, too.
However, like I said, Trump has to take into account things we don't know about. If I could suck it up and support Cruz if he had been the nominee, I can get on board with Pence as VP.
I hope he has memorized a retort for the questions on gays and religious freedom, as in "I meant well but should have talked to the gay community first and tried to reach a better solution."
Back when that controversy was going on, the LGBT movement came out with a "Proud to serve everyone" sticker. That sticker showed up at my UPS store and several businesses in my area, THE most conservative part of Indiana. That's how upset everyone was.

White WomanDumb Broad Walks In Black Neighborhood: I’m Sorry Black AmericaIf she's sorry that white prog America has ruined the black family and expects nothing from blacks as though they are pets or particularly slow infants rather than equal citizens then I'm right there with her.
If she is sickened by the dependency that white progs have intentionally fostered in the black community or the veil of suspicion and the destruction of the rule of law that judging people by the color of their skin through racial preferences then God bless her.
Otherwise, when are the blacks who refuse to even try to live responsible lives and instead murder at a rate nine or ten times their population representation going to apologize not just to the rest of us but especially to those in their neighborhoods who do live responsibly and are their overwhelming victims?
When are blacks going to apologize to everyone for burdening society by having to be incarcerated at such high rates, not because they're oppressed but because they commit crimes at a rate vastly higher than any other group?
When is that portion of the black population that never tries and only takes going to apologize to that portion that does try and does work hard and does contribute to their families, their churches, their neighborhoods and their country?
That huge population of millions of black people who do the best they can like most people do are overshadowed and virtually forgotten because of that portion of their population that does their worst and then complains when the rest of us don't support their indolence or crime sufficiently. When will they apologize for stigmatizing people who deserve no stigmatization at all?
When will they tell the white prog neo plantation owners to get stuffed?

Well to me that women is just using those blacks as a props in some sort of tediously little internal psychodrama of hers. This is shown by her childish notion that she can "speak for the white race".
She no doubt lives entirely within the false consciousness of white liberalism. I can tell you if she was forced to live in that neighborhood for 2 or 3 years she would be singing a different tune.

Captain Hate, C.S. Lewis had something to see about people like Ryan:
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good
of its victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live
under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies.
The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may
at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good
will torment us without end for they do so with the approval
of their own conscience."

The guitar in the BF version is front and center and it's a guitar riff song. The vocal in the BF version sounds sincere and credible. For that song everything else is window dressing.
The other cover might be more compatible with contemporary music styles but for this old school rocker it sounds watered down.
