I couldn't stomach watching one second of the "historic night", GUS.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

--Porchlight, You know what is sick and sad, is that CHELSEA CLINTON, grew up inside a cesspool.--

Thought that was a reference to Hillary's uterus at first.

GUS

Rich, Thank you friend.

How has the GOP done ANYTHING for US or AMERICA??

Porchlight

Here's Bill during Chelsea's speech, looking about to drop dead. Thought it was slow motion but the guy next to him - Chelsea's husband - blinks in regular time.

>>>Incidentally, per RCP, Suffolk did not poll PA at all in 2012, and this Clinton +9 effort is their first poll this cycle.

Bzzzzt.

Thanks for the poll link but not sure I am enough of a poll nerd to dig into the various counties. If Trump were to win PA it will be a blow out and the GOP will need to rethink its "what went wrong n 2012" navelgazing.

Gus-

Reagan? Although the make play conservative George Will thought Armageddon was around the corner if he were nominated. Coming up with not much ...

And here's Bill falling asleep during Hillary's speech:

I am not sure I believe any of this, but it is the basis for my I don't know.

Doom. I went to bed early, but looks like Slick got more sleep.

A week from Tuesday we have our Ryan v Nehlen primary. Turnout forecast at 9%. Talk radio (still mostly #NeverTrump) is has been attacking Nehlen lately. They might be worried. I see more "Hillary for Prison" signs than signs for either Ryan or Nehlen. No Ryan signs at all.

Miss Marple 2

Speaking of falling asleep, I went out to watch the convention on Fox Business. Sat in the recliner, fell asleep, and woke up at 2AM. Slept right through both Chelsea and Hillary's speeches!

Must have been divine intervention!

Now I will go see if there are any interesting articles.

henry

MissM, you have that in common with Slick! ;)

Miss Marple 2

henry,

LOL!

Trump, however, was wide awake! No naps for him!

"Moments" after, guys! Unprecedented! LOL!

I didn't watch one second of the DNC last night.

5 seconds of Hillary screeching in a clip on the morning news was enough to make my physically ill.

How on Earth can anyone stand to look at/listen to her for more than that? Even her husband can't!

Miss Marple 2

Not only Slick, But Kaine, too! (You will have to right click.)

JD: yes it is sheer torture: America's Mother in law.

(And I am surprised that that moniker has not caught on yet--probably all those other mother in laws out there.)

But, pace Moynihan, I have felt this about every Dem "speaker" since Bill Clinton came to power. Vipers all.

I will say that I have not managed to listen all the way through to one Obama speech; I rely on places like JOM to give me the real time take, and then read them later. even then, I have to watch my blood pressure--sometimes I cannot get through it in one sitting.

Each and every one of these people is a study in creepy, deceitful, narcissistic psychopathy.

Rip Van Wrinkle in Time

Wow! I just caught Kaine sleeping again by stopping the video Porchlight linked above at the 6 second mark (the basis for Miss Marple's pic based on the ABC logo). Holy shit, he fell asleep again at the 7 second mark! Oh man at the 11 second mark too! AHA and at the 15 second mark!

HOW MANY NAPS DID KAINE TAKE DURING HILLARY'S SPEECH! PROBABLY DOZENS!!! BUSTED!

Still photos are fun to make accusations with, right Laura 'heil Hitler!' Ingrham?

Re GA, I doubt any state has more southern baptists per capita than GA. That southern baptist Cruz finished 3rd in GA behind quasi mainline Presbyterian Trump and Catholic Rubio was a huge indication IMO that Cruz' evangelical pose was viewed as unauthentic and he had zero chance of winning in November.

Miss Marple 2

On Twitter, Wikileaks is taking a poll on the presidential race. Right now the votes are Trump - 43, Hillary -23, Stein -19, Johnson -15.

I find it interesting that they are setting up a poll. I wonder if they have detected something with the polling companies.

Captain Hate

UNEXPECTEDLY

Those mewling cowards are petrified that Trump will call them out in a presser for being consistently wrong and always in the same direction. Tammy Bruce pointed out last night how the GOP has consistently avoided confrontation even when the facts are on their side; she said she noticed this back when she was still aligned with the left. These pussy boys and girls (except for Palin) have cleared the deck for Trump whether or not their coddlers want to admit it.

DebinNC

More re GA, in 2014 GA dems found the perfect candidate for the open Senate seat - Sen. Sam Nunn's daughter Michelle Nunn, head of the Points of Light Foundation. Lots of goodwill remaining from the Nunn name and respect for Points of Light, but she was beaten by David Perdue, a businessman with no political experience or name recognition. The "R" beside his name was enough.

I believe how the GOPe mishandled the TeaParty was their Trump downfall. Not that Trump is a TeaParty candidate, but GOPe suppressed a legitimate reform movement and lack of reform led to teh Donald.

Janet the expert

Will she be running Clinton Foundation business out of the White House like she did at State?

The GOPe also suppressed a legitimate concern over 1/3 of the eligibility requirements being trampled.

And paved the way for a birther to run the country.

I think it is ironic that the choice in 2008 was between two candidates who clearly were not eligible and this year the choice is between two birthers.

I notice that when I use off-the-shelf reading glasses (that don't correct for astigmatism) for a long time, particularly staring at my iPad, it causes real problems.

If I hop in the car right after a long iPad session and drive with my sunglasses which correct for slight near-sighted condition and my astigmatism, I can't focus well on anything for 10-30 minutes.

Especially since those "nobodies" have been the backbone of this country for over 200 years.

Along with that goes the snootiness of "college degrees", as if the vast majority of those degrees are useless and are only held by some like 25 to 30% of the population. Their attempt to diminish all other knowledge other than what can be got in a classrooms has been a disaster for the nation. What have we got for it?
High frequency trading? Better ad placement for Google, et al.

I wear glasses all the time, Buckeye. They correct for both astigmatism and near-sight.

If I take them off round shapes immediately look oval and my brain slowly corrects them to a round, but blurred, shape.

If I leave them off for some time while swimming, when I put them on round shapes present themselves as oval along the opposite axis.

I remember a study where college kids wore glasses that inverted the image. After a certain period of time the image became normal in appearance. When they took the glasses of everything appeared upside-down.

Buckeye

Speaking of Google Ads, Trump is consistently popping up to the top of my promotional emails on my Google email account.

Old Lurker

Eye-Brain is a funny thing.

I am near sighted and also require reading glasses.

For many years now I have worn soft contacts which correct for astigmatism in both eyes.

One eye is tuned for distance vision and the other for closeup reading.

After a couple of days to train the brain, I find my vision just fine for near and far unless I have a lot of small print work to do. Then I wear reading glasses over the contacts which are tuned to combine with each contact to create very good close vision.

Not rocking that boat because it seems to work fine for me.

Buckeye

TK

I only wear glasses when reading. I have a pair of prescription reading glasses that are varifocus that I don't like, so I just wear drugstore readers. Chinese junk no doubt.

I may try using drugstore sunglasses to see if I can focus better after a long session with the readers on.

I have prescription long distance glasses, but don't really need them.

Buckeye

Vision thing is frustrating....getting old sucks.

When I was young, had far better than 20/20.

Stephanie,

Burge needs a history or engineering-construction lesson.

Hoover dam was built in less than 5 years and only cost $47 million in 1936 dollars or close to $800 million today. But there were as many deaths on that job as those associated with the Clintons.
