Kessler's pretty sharp, he noted the Bangladeshi premiers statement that were prologue to this week's savagery, also one of my bete noises Ali soufan took the same attitude.
Perez's statements at 1:19 solidify that the real complaint about voter id is that it limits the ability of migrants to vote as they are 'stakeholders' immediately and thus entitled to a say in distributing money through politics and others should be able to vote multiple times for the same reason.
Perez was the author. along with arne duncan and now john king, of those wioa regs that came out Thursday June 30. He is thus quite aware of the extent to which wioa created economic citizenship entitlements for those he wants to rally.
Why wasn't Perez impeached immediately, the day the GOP assumed control of the Senate? Or his department defended? Or...something, anything done to limit him and slow down his agenda?
Oh, right. The GOP doesn't do that kind of thing. Wouldn't look good. Wouldn't be civil.
James-I am looking into the so-called Whole of Government approach in part because I am seeing references to it and I can clearly see it in wioa, essa, promise neighborhoods, sector strategies, the CoC initiatives, etc.
The Uniparty wants this whole of government, working with the un and feds down to the local level, vision of managing people and the economy for the benefit of their cronies. Perez is on their side as is hillary and in the end trump may not be if he gets the right set of advisors.
As the Brits pulled a reverse 1776 on us a few days back, it is interesting to read an ex-American's take on Brexit: I give you Boris Johnson and his views plus a 5 point plan. I don't see this guy going anywhere.
I would dearly love for our smart, expert professional GOP leadership to make the argument that you can have an interconnected world, and the benefits of trade, without completely surrendering our national identity and our priorities. It's not an either-or choice of total, unfettered free trade and no borders; or sealing ourselves off from the world entirely.
It's the same thing with Bredit. They're not going to blow up the Chunnel, mine the English Channel and order the RAF to start shooting down Lufthansa flights. There can be a middle ground between Fortress Britain and total submission to the bureaucrats in Brussels.
But as long as the bureaucrats and the globalists and Ross Douthat's "cosmopolitans" refuse to admit that possibility or even acknowledge that anybody might have a valid reason for wanting it, things will just get uglier.
I'm wondering why this guy would have any inside scoop about Trump and his potential appointees?
Beasts, I don't know. Only thing I can guess is that if you're FBI, you know stuff about stuff. Like who's being vetted. Maybe Trump has people on the inside. The FBI guy also said that he would throw out some misinformation for his own safety/plausible deniability purposes.

Pence is my governor. I am not fond of him because I think he has stirred up unnecessary controversy here in Indiana.
He is popular in evangelical circles, and as a long-time member of Congress he does know how things work on that end.
There is no doubt he is quite conservative.
I doubt that the kids are pushing him to choose Pence, though. This sounds like rumors and agitprop to me.
A long time ago, when Bush was running the first time, a guy told me that there is no way we could know what issues a president would face. We don't have the intelligence info nor the abillity to forecast future events that suddenly crop up.

Thanks for c&p that, MT. This was most recently illustrated by the hubris of judge POSner violating his pledge to defend the Constitution which a real opposition party would have reacted swiftly and decisively to relieve him of the office.
Lyle would know of this wine called Leonetti..so I was coming down a county road right by their vineyard and with the wind blowing pretty nicely yesterday late PM I had to stop and take a few pictures of a backlit Old Glory flying in their vineyard.
No Bushes will be there. And let us not forget that Jeb signed a pledge promising to support the candidate. Miss Lindsey's not going to be there, nor Jindal nor some others.
Much as I like his kids, I don't want them running his campaign, but Jared (Ivanka's husband) does have an official role on the transition team.
I think perhaps his kids are shocked by the negativity he's encountered. All they've seen in the past, is people liking their father, and politicians sucking up to him, I don't think they expected anything like the hostile reaction he's received from some quarters.
I saw smoke coming from my favorite pig stand down the street, so I know I got me a half-slab for lunch. Which is nice.
A dozen eggs have come to a boil and are now on the timer. Duke's, Maille, and paprika for color - that's all folks!! I may boil some shrimps later and whip up some remoulade. Trying to figure out a few cold snacks for the fireworks crowd later this evening.
There will be about 200 boats in the main channel reservoir tonight and there's nothing like watching fireworks shot from a barge and seeing the reflection in the water!! I guess I'd better schwing by the Dollar General and get some bunting and flags for the Subterfuge...
We are a member of the wine club of a local one, and we went there to pick up our monthly allotment. Nice place, great people, and very solid wines.
We decided to make a day of it (or at least an afternoon) and visited a couple of others. In this county they are rather hit or miss, with more misses than hits. But the two we went to were actually quite good.
At the first new one, though, we had an incredible snot pouring for us in the tasting room. First they demanded a charge card be run before any tasting started. Then said snot lectured us when MrsJ mentioned that Zins have been bastardized recently. They have -- there is a "merlotization" movement to make them more palatable to the general public.
Said snot railed against alcoholic, overly jammy Zins, which can happen but are fun once in a while. Theirs of course was meek, small and retiring, and so the antithesis of the bold, jammy ones.
It was not a very good wine. We will not return, both because of the very rude treatment we got and their wines are too expensive for their quality.
The next place was great, and much less costly. They offered a nice plate of cheese and salami, with some crackers to clear the palette. The wines were very good.
This county has a long way to go before it rivals Napa or Sonoma (or even El Dorado) but there are some good ones starting to find their flavor profile. Yay!
Maybe Boris dropped the baton to smoke out pretenders like gove and may. Seriously leadson as a significant candidate. Although he dos still entertain foolishness over Iraq.
Rush said a few weeks ago that Hollywood producers are competing for the convention bid. I don't know if I like the sound of that, but hopefully it won't be boring.
It worked for Bill Clinton in 1992, didn't it?
It IS a big TV show - at least the part that the general public will see for 2-3 hours a night, and I think Trump is very smart to view it that way.
I'm glad to see your post, because I wanted to thank you for your reply to my question about whether or not it's too late. Have you ever thought about offering your services as an advisor yourself? Who better?
What is Nigel going to do, go back to trading, I think people are still locked into this notion of hierarchical organization, leave was an organic movement somewhat like the tea party.
What's a no-fail potluck item if I can't be assured of an oven at the party? I am no good at deviled eggs bc I can't get the timing/heat level mastered.
Might just find an open barbecue joint and buy a tray of chopped beef. Always popular, and stays hot on its own for awhile.
Jeb's a liar just like his father. I'm disappointed Jindal won't be there. How can a party hope to appeal to the base in the future by taking such a high handed attitude to the overwhelming primary winner? Priebus seems to be one of the few sane voices.
Thank God the Restraining Order was gabbing to Martha Raddatz yesterday as one of Rodham's short bus list choices for Veep so I could enjoy the Ox Roast without his and his fatassed second wife's noxious presence mingling with the little people
cheerleader-there is a frenzy over that at the moment with people trying to bring my work to his attention and others trying to make sure that the disinfo crowd controls what he learns about ed. I can tell his info now is not good because of his hyping of the "internationally competitive" standings on PISA.
What I am doing right now is completely wrapping up what I know so it can be distilled into a one page summary of the essence that is indisputable and documented fully elsewhere than the one pager. One problem now with my work is lots of people would like to use what I can synthesize, alter it to take out the parts that their funders do not want recognized, and then put it in their own name so they appear authoritative. I need a guaranteed conduit in other words.
It's why I am working at least part of today. If his or any other political campaign wants the truth I know it and can prove it. I also know precisely how it all ties to what was in my first book that remains hugely pertinent to following the rest of the story.
I disagree about "organic" movements. Unless leaders emerge to lead, they go nowhere. In the USA, the silent majority voted their displeasure, and still no change, things got worse.
The irony is that most people here are not that sophisticated about wines, either as consumers or as pourers. The latter of course are the PR wing of the company, and bad manners are just not acceptable.
The snot I mentioned earlier had a partner who also was pouring. She teed up a Sauv Blanc, which was OK but nothing special. We mentioned that we much prefer those from the Marlborough region. She had a blank look on her face, so I asked her if she knew that region.
Nope.
We also said that we really like the Alsatian Rieslings, and she had not heard of those either.
And then we got our lecture on Zins a few minutes later. I didn't mentioned that we grow Zins, and I'm getting better at vinting them.
The pourers in many of the wineries in Sonoma County usually recognize that MrsJ and I know our wines, and pull out the good stuff that they usually don't for the average visitor. Often we have great discussions about them, and that is a large part of the fun.
Ah well. The wineries here are trying, but have a ways to go. At least there are four or five that are decent and friendly.
MM's 10:24 link from CBS "news" is maddening to me.
The video is mocking. The print article is mocking.
The Trump-iest show on Earth:...
The four day spectacle that Trump is hoping...
For the same MFM that slobbered & fainted over Product Obama, to be talking about a "spectacle" for ANY candidate is sickening.
We were forced to celebrate all things Obama....but any excitement over a Republican candidate is just unacceptable to the MFM.
Porch-do baked beans. I did it yesterday and you do it earlier in the day and let it come to room temp and stay there. I did it for a party yesterday and people were raving and using the beans like a dip as well.
I can summarize my recipe if you want or just do a favorite from the internet. Part of what makes mine so good is I meld several different cans of pork and beans with a glass jar of B&M and 1TB of maple syrup and 1 TB of brown sugar. Some sweetness but also savory because you chop up a green bell pepper and an onion and saute until soft in 3 TBS of butter. Add to bean mixture and put several slices of bacon on top. Cook at 350 for one hour. Take out and let it cool and then put saran wrap for transport.
Doesn't need to be cooked or refrigerated and ids like as well as adults.
I have heard, Trump himself said, that Dr. Carson wants to play a role in the education policies of his admin. Have you sent Dr. Carson and nice letter and copy of your book? He is a very well read individual and loves reading and hates common core. Perhaps he has already read your book?
Did a 'volunteer' photo shoot for our local Humane Society fundraiser just over a week ago at the Leonetti Wine operation..which is pretty extensive and got to sample quite a bit of the wine..just to keep up my strength as I went along.. ;-)
Couldn't afford to buy any of their wine but enjoy hanging out with people who do.
When the price of their 'new' Cabs & Merlots goes well over a hundred bucks..you get my drift here.
The Figgins family who own and operate Leonetti are from Italian immigrants who came to this valley and started the WW Sweet Onion business but branched out into wine making in the eighties.
Leonetti wine is so exclusive one must be invited to the 2 tastings they offer each year.
Do you have a recommendation on a red wine, DrJ, that is so strong that one's immediate reaction is why I am I drinking this, but is an enjoyable experience if one keeps sipping. The red wine equivalent of hydroponic pot.
I don't have a recommendation off the top of my head. I've never had a wine like that -- as a rule, I like 'em all, and some a lot more than others. Let me think about it.
That does sound like great fun, though $100 per bottle is out of my price range too. For reference, the place with wine snot priced their wines at about $50 per bottle; the second one was about $25 per bottle.
cl-that's a good idea. Plus I have been doing research within last several days on the health/ed link and what the globalists call HiAP--Health in All Policies.
That would be something Dr Carson is likely unaware of but wouldn't want to be unfamiliar with.
If you want a good example of a huge, alcoholic jammy wine, try a Cab from Silver Oak. They are expensive -- $90 for Sonoma grapes, and $110 for Napa grapes -- but you'll get a sense of the genre.
Many wine snobs don't like them, as they think they are way overdone. I think they are fun once a year or so. They are difficult to pair with food, but antipasto and good steaks work.
I'll see if I can come up with a couple that are less expensive.
Correct, cheerleader! I had to sample two for quality control purposes. :)
The DG had lots of Americana, so I'm in good shape. They also had shot glass sized Red Solo Cups (h/t Momto2), so I'll be making some Jell-O shots, too. But prolly after I grab me some pig bones...
p.s., Porch - did you use barbecue and beef in the same sentence, because that's unpossible!!
Here's another varietal you can try: Tempranillo. We've found these to be terribly variable, and can recommend no winery other than Boeger (about $15). Often they can be a bit sour, and on their own they just don't taste that good.
But they are superb with food, from roast chicken through lamb and beef.
So the first few sips before dinner are disappointing, but they get better -- much better -- one the food comes onto the table.
OK, thanks, DrJ, I'm going to try Boeger Tempranillo. Silver Oak Cab is a price range stretch for me, but if The Hill is indicted, I might be tempted to stretch!
Crabcakes with roasted corn salsa sounds yummy, rse. Maybe when the political stress has worn off we can get a larger scale meet up and have Iron Chef JOM! I have no idea who the favorite would be, but I'd love to see lyle and rse in the finals. :)
Moar cooking to be done - better put my apron back on...
I'm less worried about the convention itself, cheerleader, than the Hill-adoring Facebook posts I know will be coming from some of my relatives during the Dem convention.
14 Hands Hot to Trot is a good value, but for me it is over-oaked. I'm sensitive to that, for some reason. I also don't like those wines that are fined with clay -- I can always taste that, and I just don't care for it.
Thank goodness there is a huge variety from which to choose!
TC, the current Boeger Tempranillo that you would find on the shelves has a lot more berries than usual for them. Still, do give it a try.
There is a huge wine (owned by a big outfit whose name I cannot remember) terminal about half an hour away from here that I photographed a few years ago for a newsletter that holds over 5 million cases of wine and this brand is one of many that's shipped out to the country and I understand they are expanding!
Forklifts running around all over the place and if a 'crate' gets damaged the employees get the leavings :-)

It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern.

The Pence stuff sounds like disinfo. Trump is planning a big reveal; his kids are not going to be pushing anything publicly.
Posted by: Porchlight | July 04, 2016 at 11:13 AM
I really hope it is disinfo.

Almost egg time!! Be back later. :)

GL,
Interesting that you would mention wineries.
Yay!

cheerleader-there is a frenzy over that at the moment with people trying to bring my work to his attention and others trying to make sure that the disinfo crowd controls what he learns about ed.
Posted by: rse | July 04, 2016 at 11:39 AM
I disagree about "organic" movements. Unless leaders emerge to lead, they go nowhere. In the USA, the silent majority voted their displeasure, and still no change, things got worse.

Posted by: Porchlight | July 04, 2016 at 11:40 AM
MaryD,
The irony is that most people here are not that sophisticated about wines, either as consumers or as pourers.

DrJ..
Posted by: glasater | July 04, 2016 at 11:49 AM
Do you have a recommendation on a red wine, DrJ, that is so strong that one's immediate reaction is why I am I drinking this, but is an enjoyable experience if one keeps sipping. The red wine equivalent of hydroponic pot.

I don't have a recommendation off the top of my head. I've never had a wine like that -- as a rule, I like 'em all, and some a lot more than others. Let me think about it.

I wonder what kind of show Hillary will put on.
Posted by: cheerleader | July 04, 2016 at 11:56 AM
GL,
That does sound like great fun, though $100 per bottle is out of my price range too. For reference, the place with wine snot priced their wines at about $50 per bottle; the second one was about $25 per bottle.
I still like Boeger. :)
Posted by: DrJ | July 04, 2016 at 11:58 AM
OK, thanks, DrJ. The closest thing I can think of (at least in my plebeian price range) is a merlot called Airfield.

cl-that's a good idea. Plus I have been doing research within last several days on the health/ed link and what the globalists call HiAP--Health in All Policies.
That would be something Dr Carson is likely unaware of but wouldn't want to be unfamiliar with.
Posted by: rse | July 04, 2016 at 12:06 PM
TC,
If you want a good example of a huge, alcoholic jammy wine, try a Cab from Silver Oak.
Posted by: DrJ | July 04, 2016 at 12:06 PM
Correct, cheerleader! I had to sample two for quality control purposes. :)
The DG had lots of Americana, so I'm in good shape. They also had shot glass sized Red Solo Cups (h/t Momto2), so I'll be making some Jell-O shots, too. But prolly after I grab me some pig bones...
p.s., Porch - did you use barbecue and beef in the same sentence, because that's unpossible!!

Mr. Trump's take on it is, Obama has total power over her and it'll be up to him, but I think she has some leverage too.

We are getting some pretty tasty wines in a good price range here also, DrJ.
14 Hands Hot to Trot is a local favorite. Great name or title done by someone who is a horse aficionado :-)
Here's a link to our local newspaper's article on the Humane Society story that shows the vineyards ambiance..

Janet,
I do hope you know that I post articles like that so that people like you can see what the networks are pushing and how they are presenting things.
Looks to me like they are anticipating full-scale coverage of the protests. Forewarned is forearmed, they say.
Posted by: Miss Marple 2 | July 04, 2016 at 12:13 PM
TC,
Here's another varietal you can try: Tempranillo.
Posted by: DrJ | July 04, 2016 at 12:17 PM
14 Hands Hot to Trot is an outrageously good value in red wine, glasater - brava!! About ten bucks per bottle down here...

Posted by: Thomas Collins | July 04, 2016 at 12:29 PM
