Being a Vol brought him into my mom's orbit. She is a good little mountain girl from the Smokies. My dad is a Yankee, which my grandparents never quite forgave,
Hubby and doggy just got in from a walk. My intrepid little terrier sniffed out some bear scat, which hubby said was full of berries. I noticed some raspberries along the road today, which I planned on picking tomorrow, but I won't be competing with the bear(s)!
Robin,I love the Smokies! My Dad grew up in the White Mountains of NH and I know being close to the mountains of east TN gave him comfort.
Marlene, we are lucky enough to have family to visit in two of my favorite places - the Smoky Mountains of E. TN and the White Mtns in NH. My husband just did the amount Washington Century Ride a couple of weeks ago. Such beautiful country.

Marlene,
Momma and Scout are angry at Fry. On their walk yesterday Scout, the girl, flushed a grouse hen and caught it in her mouth. Fry ran up and stole it from her, biting it's tail, then as it pecked at him between the eyes and drew blood he killed it. Momma has iPhone video of her telling Fry to put that dirty bird down and Fry won't. Wish I could post it, but yellow lab Fry the Murderer is shaking it in his mouth and elated by his kill, and is playing a game of "Keep Away" and won't let momma or Scout anywhere near it, so Scout is mournful and Fry is exultant!
When she finally got Fry leashed and got him to drop the bird, she said she had to keep him leashed the entire rest of the walk as she knew the instant she took let him go he'd go racing back to the kill:)
daddy, our Scout has been squishing hoppy toads in his mouth, which is gross. Maine frogs /toads aren't toxic,so he hasn't had any reactions. He spits them out after realizing they aren't tasty.

The restaurant has since responded by scouring the surveillance video to determine who wrote the hateful note. The woman who allegedly signed the note met with police on Thursday, John said, claiming she signed the receipt but didn’t write the comment.

These people act like the "globalism" we have today is some sort of "force of nature"--comically, a result of "market forces".
It is not. it is solely driven by elites, part of which want cheap labour and to normalize the cost of it across the globe, and part of it that wants to destroy the West. This sort of globalism--moving whole industries off shore, is completely new to history and completely artificial. It in fact cannot work, and the elites that have cause it have not really thought it out at all. They are narrow minded, greedy and power mad fools. They have no iea what make up a nation, a society or a civilization. These things are not counting houses, or custom houses, or labor pools. People cannot be manipulated like they are rows in spreadsheets, not in the Modern world. It will all fall apart. They think they understand this and can control it, but they are utter fools--as foolish as Al Gore running around with his pot belly ranting about climate change. Obama, Hillary and the puppet master Soros show just how shallow and stupid these people are. They can only lie cheat and steel for so long.
It can all be undone in a matter of years. Perhaps Trump can start us down that path, but sooner or later someone will, and it might not be so pleasant then. It is absurd what has gone on these last 25 - 30 years. It is completely unsustainable. It is treason.

"Free Trade" is as much a neurotic displacement association for so called "conservatives" as is "Equality" for Liberals.
Of course, it is not "Free Trade" at all, but an attempt to "rationalize" a global "value chain by distributing parts of it world wide.
But we cannot have that and be a nation. It has to stop. It is really becoming a security issues. We scarcely make computers any more, for example.
