The always-quotable Rudy Giuliani:
I want people to think Trump 'has no organization'
Mission Accomplished!
Oh, let's be fair:
Donald Trump's campaign shakeup means nothing more than an expansion, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday, praising the Republican nominee's organization and recent on-message speeches.
"More people. The campaign is getting bigger and bigger and bigger. A lot of people think he has no organization. Good. I like them to think that," Giuliani said during an interview on "Fox & Friends." "The reality is I've traveled to a number of states with Donald and I've seen the organization he has."
MSM will definitely run with whatever story damages Trump the most.

Both Bill and Hillary look half dead.
Posted by: Buckeye | August 17, 2016 at 01:48 PM
Trump can do more then one thing at a time but it seems the MSM can't report on more then one story at at time. That's why I think it was a mistake to release the info so soon after his speech.
Perhaps the campaign thought that the main focus would be on the speech thereby minimizing the campaign change.
The error there is that the media will focus on what it wants - especially if they can play it as anti-Trump. It fits into their meme that the Trump campaign is in trouble.
For the life of me, I cannot understand Limbaugh and other presumed conservatives who follow the MSM like they had a ring in their noses and were being pulled along. I very rarely listen to him anymore because of his seeming desire to be one of the big boys, but I tuned in this morning. On a day like today, he led with the MSM story about the changes to the campaign, and the mistake of releasing that information at this time. Then he added some gibberish about these things are usually done when there is another big story or when I'm off. Whatever.
I don't know if he talked about the speech because I turned him off. The so-called conservative pundits are impossible - perhaps never more so than during this election.

Rush said the same thing about the campaign shake-up stepping on Trump's speech. Called it a tactical error.
It is not a tactical error unless the media uses it to toss a blanket over the real news.
They did the same thing covering Rudy’s 8 years with no major Islamic attacks by saying what about 9/11. [In my book, 2009-2001 = eight years.]
It is not a tactical error if you establish a record of journalistic malfeasance.
BTW, I edited a poor wire service story again today and wrote AP.

We cannot do a long-term war because the democrats manage to politicize it, turn public opinion, and then get themselves elected because they've taken advantage of the public's doubt.
I'd prefer the alternative: If we are in a sustained war, Republicans have to recognize that the primary enemy is the Democrats at home, and they must savagely beat them down and take no prisoners. We cannot tell the rest of the world that we can no longer fight a war. We just have to fight it properly. W was far too polite. How hard would it have been to accuse (rightfully) the Democrats of putting our troops at risk? Of outright treason by giving aid and comfort to the enemy? If that's too strong for the President to say, surely Congresscritters can make the point.

Texas Liberty Gal, the wire led with the campaign mgmt change, but the back-up story about Wisconsin was yet another blanket.
They led with Trump calling Hillary a “bigot”, followed immediately by a Hillary camp rebuttal that Trump was the bigot.
Even if trump had stayed on message, the MSM was not going to send that message to readers. [Strikes indicate persiflage we cut]
That was followed by:
They stomp on every Trump statement with noise, not substance. Staying on message is unpossible in an MSM world.

Hey guys, before I get back to 24/7 politics I have a heartwarming story. I was driving Teddy to the dog park and was stuck behind some slowpoke assholes and was bitching appropriately but, when I belatedly pulled up to a four way stop sign, saw this tiny dog about the size of a bunny run across the street and start running up the street on the sidewalk in the same direction I was going. I pulled over to the side, got out and whistled loudly because he was headed to a traffic circle which is really busy and was hoping to turn him around or at least stop him. He didn't break stride so I jumped back in the car and sped off because I didn't want to see him crunched. When I got to the circle he was on the grassy area in the middle and, being lucky enough to have made it that far, was fortunate that the lights were red so he could run across the street in the middle running perpendicular to the street we were on. So I drove to the far point of the circle and pulled over in the far left lane, which was blocked behind where I pulled over so it was safe, got out and whistled and called to him. Amazingly he ran right over to me and I scooped him up.
I don't think Teddy was ever this small even when we first saw him. He looks like Jane's Kiwi but was barely bigger than my hand and wasn't struggling to get away. So I thought Welp, I'd better try to find your owner. I kept him cradled in my left hand and arm (NFW was the seatbelt fastened) and Teddy was remarkably uninterested in checking things out more closely, so I headed back to the street he emerged from. I saw some tall kid and said "looking for this dog?" Which he was and he thanked me as I handed him through the window. I've felt good about the day ever since then.

I took a nap so just read your comment @1:45,OL,ha. My sister and her husband, the retired Navy Seabee, visited a couple of weeks ago. We were sitting on the porch and started to discuss Hillary. As you probably know, the Seabees maintain Camp David and he was assigned there at the end of Clinton's second term. One Sunday when the Clintons were there, they attended Chapel. My sister and the kids sat in the second pew, behind the Clinton family. When the b-i-l took his seat,he was right behind Hillary. He said her a** was quite large. I don't remember her being heavy during her First Lady years, but my b-i-l was right behind (heh) her.

Lurker Susie,
The secularization of Europe start long before the big wave of Muzzie migration in the 80's. In Belgium, its even more pathetic. Molenbeek alone has 22 or 25 mosques. Mrs. JiB parish is a skeleton of itself and when we go to mass, we are they youngest couples there and Frederick the only kid attending.
Wnen we went to mass in the Antwerp Cathedral last year, it was mostly Americans and other visitors at the mass and again Frederick was one of only 3 kids. Even Italy is starting down the secular path. In Venice most of the Catholic churches are strictly art museums now.
Not pretty. And you're right coming here sooner or later. Right now Catholic churches are coming back slowly from the priest abuse scandal but its not the church I remember growing up in.

Rove:
"It takes longer to dig yourself out of a hole than it takes to dig yourself into one."
He ought to know, TK. Interesting and at times knowledgeable as he is, I wouldn't trust anything Rove had to say about this election because of his close relationship with the Bush family.
I am amazed that the so-called "right" (with the exception of Sean) is ignoring Trump's speech last night.
As I said in comment on the previous thread, we are 19 - now 20 days out from the end of the conventions, and the doom and gloom of the media seems to have permeated the air waves. All they talk about is the need to turn Trump's campaign around. They've been doing this since the day after the Democrat Convention ended. Add in some specious polls, and as far as the MSM is concerned, the election is a done deal. That just doesn't make sense to me.
Rather than fight back, the people on the right have accepted the mantra. Trump has to change or it's DOOM. AFAIC, these messages are the product of the establishment, which includes the Republicans, the Democrats, and the media, doing everything they can to stop Trump. No matter what Trump does, no matter the changes he makes, or how well the people respond to him, they are going to beat on that drum of doom until election day with the goal of defeating him.
Posted by: Barbara | August 17, 2016 at 04:44 PM
Trump is a rich guy with a beautiful wife, a lot of attention, many fans, and won a Republican nomination maybe only Ivanka thought he could win. I doubt that, unlike Hillary, the White House has been a goal for him for him for many, many years.
This doesn't strike me as a person who is going to take a lot of unsolicited advice on how to be different so he can win an office. His decision and determination to run as himself doesn't really surprise.
We'll see if it works.
